Sweet Interruptions. Rm. 286

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

What!! You have Maine and Canada and Ohio is too far??? Crissy! 😝

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

CRISSY! What a wonderful surprise to go online and see a post from you today!!! Don't disappear like that again, please.

Wishing everyone a fantastic, Happy Mother's Day..even the mothers of furry babies. They count, too.

Just hoping today doesn't throw Sue off balance but it will be what it is. Her therapist goes to her church so I am sure that will be a huge help.

Unfortunately Kim and I have to continue our checking out of ovens...she just flat refused to bake her cakes for orders in the toaster oven.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Happy Mother's Day to all! A beautiful day, going to be in the low 80's. Can't decide if I should start on the patio clean up job or just relax. Time to fill up the trash barrel again and I could do that just from the junk in the house. How did I ever get so lazy.

Don't blame Kim for not wanting to bake cakes in toaster oven. Haven't tried it myself, but then can't remember when the last time I baked a cake I think about baking, but then it would be such a temptation for me since I have such a sweet tooth.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

lol Joyce, until I make some money, and if it doesn't happen soon I'm going to be job hunting again, anything outside of Missouri is too far, unless it's on the phone, which I am not good at.

LK I do get paid for mileage, base pay, commission, and all travel is paid for, but I haven't brought in any money for the company so I have to be careful. I've never been good at outside sales but what the hey, I'll try this.

Marion cake sounds wonderful no matter what it's baked in! Of course, that would have to be a very big toaster oven to fit a whole cake in!

Well poo, I have to go to the store.

HI CRISSY ! (((((()))))) glad you popped in
Cookie great pic of the family
Hope Darwin is doing good today :) hope he got some solids in this weekend ?

Good morning, have poison oak on my lips and eye. My eye is swollen shut. Think a trip to the dr. Is in order for today.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cookie those are beautiful!

Kathy, get to the Dr. soon! Where did you get poison oak?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

My neighbors granddaughter had it, but they didn't know because she wasn't broke out with it yet, and I was loving on here. She broke out Friday nite and me yesterday.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So sorry. Hope the doc has something for you. Don't touch it, as you know it will spread!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Welcome back Crissy!!! I've missed your words! Good luck on your new location and job. If you want another Tiga, check out the shelters first. Don't be a stranger!!
I'll check that house of Webster later. Does it carry quilting fabrics?
Welcome home.. actually.

Sue, how could you miss us when you're having fun with Tom!
We are happy that you're making new happy memories that will obliterate the old sore ones.

Marion, what did you all do after the play?
Did Kim took a video of it? She could upload it on Youtube and share with us.
I agree, you can't use a toaster oven if you need the perfect rise!! Might as well bite the bullet and invest in a good one.
It's Monday!! And you're not on your way to Sue's.....so yesterday was quite bearable for her then.

Pegi, hugs and prayers your way sistah. May Darwin pick up his appetite soon.
Being lazy for you is a luxury. Indulge in rest, sistah.

Sis Kathy, you had proven my worries right!! Another incident that requires some form of medical attention.
Can I suggest soaking yourself in bath tub fill with holy water?

I took an extra Xanax last night as my heart was racing fast. This morning, I am walking around like a zombie!!

Waving to Barb, LK.. Karen and lurkers!

Have a perfect day sistahs.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cookie, meant to tell you that those peonys are beautiful.
It's unfortunate I can't grow them here, and I love all peonys!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Jaye why can't you grow peonies? My sister lives in the Ashville area and she grows them no problem.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Jaye!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Ashville is what we call the mountain area.
I'm living closer to Myrtle Beach. My MIL tried growing them for years, none made it.
I thought I'd prove her wrong, got some named ones plus Sarah Bernhardt.. but none made it. We don't have enough cold/cool days I guess.
I don't know why our local WMs carry them as I don't see clumps of peonies in anyone's garden here.
Saw them in Virginia, love them!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning LK! I love you new maple tree! Keep it hydrated since your heat can go above 90.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Love the peonies but alas they don't do very well here either. Oh did my hosta come out "roaring" this year. I think that cold winter we had did something to them. The amaryllis were so leaded with blooms that they broke the stems from the weight. I only saw pictures as they bloomed while I was on my extended vacation. :-)

Sue did fair yesterday..she did go to the cemetery. She is managing but I will be going back down for just one week. 1 week only!!!! To many things requiring my attention and besides, she needs to get her "legs" under her rather than leaning on me all the time. Therapist's words..not mine. I agree though.

Kathy, whatever are we going to do with you. I agree with Jaye's idea of a tub of hot holy water.

Pegi, thinking of you every day.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

the dr. gave me a shot of steroids, eye drops and a pill for the itching. it still is driving me crazy

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I can't grow peonies hear either. I had 4 plants for two years and they died. I have the japanese maple in a big pot on the front porch. I hope I can get it to survive.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Linda, I have 2 jp's. the red one I thought died last year when I planted it, but it is looking pretty today. the green one is doing great. just ngive it a lot of water until it get estabnlished

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the info Kathy! I will keep giving him lots of moonshine... I mean water! ^_^

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

yes, the like coconut shine! and lots of it LOL

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

LK, did I miss something? What Japanese Maple do you have? I do believe they want sunshine....

Not going any where after all...staying home and trying to get caught up on much needed yard cleaning and house work. Plus working on some things for the dungeon..sleeping area. Mostly throw pillows for the bed.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I got an emperor Japanese maple in the raise my baby swap. From what I read it says they like more shade than sun! I don't know if they will take this Texas full sun! So for now, I have it in a large pot on the front porch.

Oh my what a beauty. You are most likely right about Texas sun....both of mine are in morning sun/afternoon filtered shade.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Got a touch of sunstroke from looking for a Bridal Wreath at 3 nurseries, and it affected my stomach.
Oh well.. it's hat time now!
The search was in vain, but came home with a discounted hydrangea. Got it for 5 instead of 16. I wish I could bring home all other discounted plants, but I know Kel won't be thrill digging up more than 1 hole!
After all, I still need to get more daylilies later.

Hopefully yours will get adjusted to Tx., LK. If it's green, it's sturdier.

GOod that you don't have to return to Sue soon, Marion. Time for you to reestablish your dominion over the house. Seems your appliances were rebelling! Kidding!
2 of my amaryllis finally gave me some blooms. They're late this year, and I had thought I'd lost them all! My giant one certainly bit the dust.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye you need to be careful in the sun. Sorry you didn't find your plant.

My japanese maple has red leaves. I will have to plant it on the east side of the house.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Really wishing you very good luck with that, LK.
Your Texas heat is much more brutal than ours, at least we get some winds at time for relief.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

morning, almost rolled my truck after taking Sammy to the vet, wet my pants in the store, now am making vet birthday cake, 9i forgot his bday0, strawberry rubarb pie for better half, and fudge for a swap

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.
The angel's doing her job, stopping your truck from rolling! Like Marion said, what are we going to do with you?
NEver had rhubarb pie. Yum on the fudge, wish it isn't too hot that you could send me some
SIs Kathy.

Ears still ringing. Wish they could play some known tunes..

Is it June yet?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kathy, how did you almost roll the truck!

OK everyone we all need to start mailing her bubble wrap. NO MORE accidents for you SIS!!!

Sorry your ears are ringing Jaye, do you have high blood pressure?

I wasn't paying attention and took a 35 mph curve at 55mph. I just got to turn thr radio off. I get into them 60's.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I have fluid in my ears, LK. That's why I went for treatment. Caused me some serious vertigo. The PA gave antibiotics saying my sinuses are clogged and not moving. The inside of my right ear, an angry red.
I'm through with the second round of antibiotics, but she did warn me that the ringing might take longer to stop. The congestion started to thin out when I took the new Mucinex as it contains.. guana. something!! Also have been giving steam treatments with eucalyptus mixed in. What a mess..Lol!!
Not as loud as before, but still aggravating.
No more drying of the sinuses next time, I'll let them flow. Lesson learnt.
Plus, if your ears are stopped up, don't flush your sinuses. Might rupture your eardrums.
She told me to blow my nose often. There were no discharge to blow then!!!! Now I reach for tissues!
So sistahs, blow your nose, don't reach for something to dry them out!

Sis Kathy, you're not supposed to pay attention to the radio!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry Jaye, I know it is so hard to be so congested! Hope your feeling better soon!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

These outrageous priced decongestants, Zyrtec and Allegra didn't work for me. Mucinex just came out with one that has guaifenesen. Not cheap neither, but I need to be normal soon, LK! Lol!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I just can't leave you gals alone for a minute!! One trys to roll their truck; another blowing out her eardrums......my,my, my whatever will I do with you?

Rhubarb pie......to die for!!! Oh Jaye, you have indeed missed one of the great pleasures of life...edible type that is.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lolol Marion. Well then, I'll just have to make one myself.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

marion. i'm sure I can salvage you a piece before Michael gets ahold of it.
bottom line on my truck, I was just simply speeding and not paying attention.
I wouldn't live with myself if something happene to that truck. Michael bought it for me for mothers dayn 2 years ago. I love that Silverado. it it the crimson tide colors!
