LindaKay while in town I bought a spool of orofil thread ?? This afternoon neck and back went into spasms, I don't do stress wee. Lol so took pain meds and laying down , likely try it in the morning, hope that is the answer seeing they say it's thinner but stronger..luckily she had almost same color..if it does work I will look for it state side, was $12 a spool and not a large one either.
Hope "M" is enjoying the wedding.
As for the home I'd move in tomorrow..yikes, way I'm feeling I'd move in today!

(((debbie)))
Rough decisions when it envolves parents. Yikes Debbie, I'm 73+ and I still function....but I do realize that there are those who can't at this age. I am just thankful I can do all the things that I do.
Karen, I am so very sorry to read the above. Hang in there.
Betty good luck with the process with your mom. My late brother and SIL lived in an assisted care facility in London (Dearness) and it was really nice. I visited them several times over the years and each time was so glad to see how well cared for they were.......not to mentioned getting proper food.
Debbie, I take in borders. Lol
Door always open, if I'm not in just make yourself at home
Think some time away from all would do you the world of good!! Mean it
How are you today Dianne? Getting this rain?
That's what I think is the best, it's an active living facility..she could come a go, do some visiting. They allow visitors $96.75 a day..if only she would try it for 1 month
hugs to everyone, sounds like there is a lot of need ♥♥♥
I agree, that place is beautiful!
Aurafil thread is very expensive, but it does sew nicely. I won a set from Facebook and it is really nice? If I could afford it, that is all I would sew with.
Betty, your frog swap partner said your frogs will be going out Monday. Debbie please let us know when it gets there?
No hurry to get the frogs, would just mean our poor Debbie will have to store..reminds me, I should look to see where the box I send made it to these past few days.
Bet LindaKay it's not $12?? Hope it works, just going to eat and try and find energy to try it
Nice seeing you post a thunder, what have you been up to and how is the family?
Sounds of heavy rain keeping me wake, you up Dianne?
Rain has stopped, birds are chirping, a crow caws thinking he is singing as well as the other birds. NOT. Lol
Let's hope if the sun doesn't come out at least it doesn't rain, so wet out there.
"M" how did the wedding go?
Would you believe? Snowing here.
Yep I was up too just not online. Heavy rain here too. I thought it was supposed to cease and desist after Sat.
The loons have been quite vocal this last week. I love their sound! I don't care if they sound off day or night.
Tried to work between the rain drops yesterday. Sure didn't get as much done as I would have liked.
M how was the wedding?
Marion I have visited Dearness in the past. An aunt and uncle resided there and loved it. My MIL had to go to a NH as she needed too much care. She probably could have gone home to her wee Sr's apartment if she would have hired someone to stay with her overnight. My DH had a great gal from MIL's church all lined up but MIL deemed her too expensive. Snort! I think after her first week in the NH she wished she hadn't been so quick.
Dull, dreary morning here. Have no ambition to do anything. I am in the recliner with my trusted heating pad on my back, I have been using the heating pad as much as possible these last few weeks. Only comfort I seem to get.
Betty I am watching the Boston news and the sun is shining there. So not fair!!
Dianne
Yes I would. I just poked my head out the door and it is very cold here.
HAAAAAALLLLLOOOOOO ^_^
The wedding was AMAZING !! The ceremony was very emotional, the bride and bride worse Tuxedos .. Anne's was white pants with a black suitcoat with white lapels .. Selly wore black pants, a white jacket with black lapels ..
The meals was a buffet with absolutely ANYTHING and EVERYTHING a person would want .. the speaches were funny as well as serious and thoughtful.
There was about 200 people there, we left just before the dancing started as (I gotta get a life) the dogs had been alone for close to 5 hours.
Selly and Anne are both 62 .. Anne is a retired schoole teacher, and, Selly will be retiring soon from her job as Volunteer coordinator of the local AIDS Committee, a job she has held for over 20 years, and is how i befriended her .. i have volunteered there for that many years and more ..
They leave today for 2 weeks in Paris !!
Brilliant sun out right now, with the EVER present WIND !!
Piper celebrates his 4th birthday today .. hard to believe !!
Will have pics later (of course) ..
Betty, I FEED the Crows LoL .. each morning, the Blue Jays get peanuts, the songbirds get their feeders filled, AND, I toss out old bread/buns for the Crows .. it has become a routine they SCOLD us about if we are late !!!!
My left ear is totally plugged .. the cold I have been dukin it out with for over a month has gone to visit my left eustachian tube .. feels like I have an ear plug in my ear .. first time ever for this to happen to me .. flippin well irritating too .
Guess I should pop on a coffee
TOODLES
~M~
waving
omg, weatherman said snow in Susan's neck of the woods but nothing about yours Karen, big sigh.
Dianne, did you look at the next 14 day forecast??? mostly rain in my neck of the woods.Your body is telling you it's not quite healed, so enjoy it while you can, heating pad, movie/good book! Hard to get ahead of yard duty when it's an effort to work between raindrops.
"M" wedding sounds great. To think of being in Paris, wouldn't it be spectacular??
Happy birthday to Piper, save me a piece of cake please.
I was up half the night, watched a few shows, heard Rita get up for a sec, said good morning then back to bed she went..finally just after 6a.m. she was up and ready to head to her house for a morning of work.
We have Chinese left so that looks after tonights din/din.
I got everything in to start putting table/chairs together, not as easy as the other set..
managed to put one chair together and thought I'd take a break and do another this afternoon and just maybe another tonight.
Decided even if I have to change machines on the quilting frame that hockey quilt is coming off the frame..changed to the new thread, quilted about an 8" pass across the quilt and it went fine without breaking thread, would be well worth paying $12 for a spool if it works well
off for another coffee then more quilting.
hope you've all something exciting to do
my highlight of the day is as "M", making sure bluejays, birdies and squirrels are fed..
enjoy your day!
Break time, hot chocolate and egg salad sandwhich should fill me up
Don't want to sit too long or I will lose what energy I have..almost 3 chairs put together and less than 2 hrs quilting left on hockey quilt so I'm starting to feel good about what I'm getting done
Quick lunch and right back at it
Brrrrr 28f
Nice and breezy here with temps in the low 80s..come on down. Day started out in the mid 50s which is unusual for this time of year.
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I'm going home tomorrow. :-)
Ohhh had lunch, got a call and off I went
Got to play with 2 little miracle children..Melissa and the twins are up for the week,
now that they've settled in I got to visit.
Addy is doing ok, needs steroids for her breathing, 5 other meds during the day and air
can feel her poor chest just a rattling
Addy is 8 lbs
Alex 14 lbs
Alex just enjoys smiling and melting your heart
Thanks for sharing pictures with us Betty! Alex sure is growing fast! Addy will too, once she gets her meds working for her! Will keep them in our prayers!
Little miracles for sure.
Small one on our end. Son just called he and ex just took Nevaeh to see her mom and new half brother. I now know his name is Weston. They had a nice visit, all were on best behavior. I knew if my son got to see him he would love him. He was all mushy just telling me about him. He will send me pics as soon as he's back home.
i am working, and sewing. this and that.
Ryleigh seems to be all better, no more soupy poopy!! has energy back, so she is back to learning to walk
DIL says soldier boy is good. they have been very lucky to be able to skype once a week.
My baby boy, out in Washington State is finally working ^_^ hope it lasts.
talked to the middle child a few days ago, he is getting ready for finals. busy busy.
all good news Karen and Thunder
Look forward to pictures of Weston (love the name) and Ryleigh is adorable.
drats just got off the telephone with mom, now that is an experience..guess she listened somewhat, signed over the offer then call back 5 minutes later and said no but Realtor said too late, only thing that could stop it going through would be the house inspection sooo here is hoping it's a done deal and closes early June.
now for step 2
got to say this has been a mind boggling emotional weekend!
Betty, did Noah show up to work today?
Is chaos central here. Not sure what I am doing anymore...trying to remember to breath through all the drama.
SUCH a blessing to see all these babies! True miracles.
Debbie, no he did not!!!
Thought as it rained off/on he had good excuse but sun has been out last hour as I have been
and he's no where in sight..that's ok, will make a trip across the road tomorrow night in search of him!
Did get the patio set put together, just a cheap one as my back deck has the good set..good reason as well, don't have to worry if I don't bring in cushions or store for winter..hands are sore, all that screwing is hard work (do mean with screws and bolts) lol
put the 3 metal Canada geese that are down on the 'to do' list for next week, they are sooo heavy and have to be balanced with the rock so I'll be patient.
Jason (Suzanne's soon to be SIL) just called, said he's ready to start my bathroom, yuk, means a lot of work for me..bought the stone countertop and zinc and taps last fall, told him when he had time, guess he has time so will have to start cleaning under the counter for him.
figure I have about 1 1/2 hrs left to finish quilting the hockey quilt, trying to get enough energy to do so
been quite a day, perhaps I will sleep tonight
Debbie, all that stress worries me, one of these days you will have a stroke, best you go MIA and come to Canada
Love ALL the pics .. my goodness, those twins have flourished, and Addy has just the most amazing eyes !!
Yard work to the hilt today .. then Piper's BDay ..
Have pics ..
A couple of Lorna and Gord making the new 'doghouse, Smokey in his new CATHOUSE, and just BDay pics ..
I scored a sunburn today !!!!!!!!!
~M~
Lovely set, Betty. Thank you so much for sharing the twins with us. I'm so glad they are doing well. Ann looks so happy!
Sherry came again today to help in the garden. We're almost finished. A little left for tomorrow and then finished except for mulch and that won't get finished until after garden club on Tuesday. Just not enough time to do it.
Got my carpet yesterday. YAY! I'm really loving it! Now when the new couch comes, we'll be set!
Debbie, I've got a spare room, too! If you want to come West I'll get it ready for you! 😃
just before I go upstairs I'll post a few photo's, will gab with you in a bit, need supper!
tired tonight but am glad with what I've accomplished. Do you think one day I'll just sit?
Grandma used to say 'you are a long time dead, keep busy while you can'
tomorrow I will put the binding on then get out my clear thread and do something with the photo's
she's heavy, guess it's all the hockey sweaters I used as the backing
now for Caleb's
What a beautiful child Karen...maybe there will be contact!
Joyce, know you worked your butts off and it will be gorgeous gor tomorrow's gathering .photo of the living room please.
Big smile "M" as I look at the photo's, love the dog house and Piper sure got spoilt.
Beautiful baby is Weston. Hope contact continues for you.
I love the dog/cat house "M". They did a good job getting it put together. Has Piper gone in it at all yet?
Had a nice weekend. On Sat. Norm had a work job to do in Maine so I went with him. We went to Brandon's horse show first and then headed up. It was a nice leisurely ride along the back roads as I really don't want to spend my time on the highway if I don't have to. What beautiful country we drove through. Then on the way back we cut over to NH and stopped in to visit with my older brother. I hadn't seen him since last summer so it was really nice.
Then yesterday, Norm picked up his nephew and he spent the day with us. Didn't get much handwork done but the visit was fun. Now, I need to buckle down and get to work......
What a lovely weekend Barb, just get in the car and drive while gabbing with your sweetie, sure do miss those outings. Handwork can wait till you are bored and need something to do.believe roger and I went through main when we were visiting Boston and Cape Cod, somewhere I marked down which states we went through.
Off to get busy, have an entire day of hand sewing
I love traveling that way Barb. Hubby and I used to Sunday drive a lot, just get in the car and meander with no particular destination in mind. Lol when we were first married we were so broke, we could drive up to the Mackinac bridge to look at it but couldn't afford the tolls both ways to cross it.
How long have they been collecting tolls at the bridge Karen? I have been across it several times, and I don't remember a toll.
quick 'hi'
leaving for Buffalo for the afternoon
Debbie , will be at Christmas Tree store around 1:00
short notice but can you make it??
The Mackinac? Ever since it was built. It was much higher when the bridge was new, has been reduced several times. I think it's $4. now. Back then it was$3.50 which would have made a round trip $7. When our weekly take home was $63.85, $7 was a big chunk of it. That was in the early 60s, we also rented a furnished house for $50 a month. Toll lowered to $1.50 in 1969.
I'm old enough I can remember crossing the straits on the ferry when we would go to the upper to visit my dad's uncle.

I will be there.
We probably did pay a toll, I just don't remember it! We used to go to the upper peninsula every summer to go camping.
