Big sigh..absolutely beautiful..have some of the latter growling but will be some time before I see flowers on them. Love your hypertufa vignettes..have a few small one, they have wintered well..the chicks/hens you brought me didn't live inside and here these in sub zero weather did. Lol. I'll get everything going and will do a few matches

Thanks for sharing

Feels good to have dirty hands from playing in the earth..emptied choir from back bedroom deck planters, choir will be good fire pit fire started. Added new choir flower box liner but going to have to wait a few weeks longer before buying plants for them

Time to get dressed again in shopping clothing and head out

Again, what a perfect day

L O V E the pretty, pretty fleurs !!!
NOTHING here is growing, yet. Bought a container (hanging basket) of Pansies just to have something floral to look at ..

Note to self .. 'Do NOT let Marilynne into a DOLLAR STORE unattended'!!! LoL
I had a blast .. Lorna finally had to say ENOUGH ^_^
So much of this and that brought home .. mostly solar lights and windchimes and paper flowers .. used to be plastic flowers, but, seems they are basically all fabric now ..
My parents grave will get Mauve and Yellow flowers .. planted real flowers last year, but, as the cemetery is so far from us, getting there to water them was hit n miss .. my Mom loved Mauve, me as well ^_^

Betty, read on CNN where the boys name of the year for 2013 is ,Noah.

Going to make Chinese tonight, gawd bless me !!!!
Should get to choppin ..

Haven't seen Barb post in a bit, hope she's OK ..

Making nothing for dinner tonight. It's Friday, I love Friday.....Pizza night...I don't have to cook.
After 54 years, I'm tired of planning meals. Actually since I was 11, I've been cooking because my mom worked and I was in charge of house & sisters.

Perfect day here too Betty. It was absolutely gorgeous - sunny with a bit of cloud cover. The blinding flash of white you saw in the sky was a reflection of me in shorts for the first time this year. I worked outside for 3.5 hours this afternoon just on the yard that goes from the lower level of the house to the lake. It is quite a slope and I spent a goodly amount of time clearing away wood fall. My goodness there is enough of it this year. Still need to finish raking there though. There are several trees between the house and the lake as we like our privacy. People often say we can't see your house from the lake to which we respond that's exactly how we like it. Black flies finally drove me inside. Glad I loaded up on Benadryl yesterday.

Love the idea of the swing/bed Betty. If I had been with you I probably would have bought it. When I expand the deck I want a screened in area with a bed hanging down. When I met up with some DGers in SC last year for a week the rental we were in had an outside swinging bed. I fell in love with it!

Little Duke ( all 70 lb of him) and I had a visit with Dr Heather our vet yesterday. I don't know whether I mentioned it or not but his behaviour has regressed back to what it was when I first got him. I am literally tearing my hair out trying to control him. After first hand seeing how Duke goes off the rails (she raised a blind and he went ballistic) He is now on meds to help calm him down and hopefully I can start obedience training with him again. Hopefully the meds will help the poor little guy. His behaviour is to the point that if there isn't a change I am not sure I can keep him. Already have had a summer person call to complain about his barking. When something startles Duke he barks but doesn't know when to stop. My heart is breaking at the thought I might have to give him up.

Barb I was delighted to read you are able to get out and about again. Did you get an answer about the hanging baskets? Makes a big difference on your daily outlook doesn't it when you get out? It's not that I want or even need to get out but the thought that I can't irks me to no end.each day.I can stay in days even weeks at a time but it is my choice. Years ago we briefly entertained the idea of having 1 vehicle - that was when Warren was in TO fro Mon to Fri. I just freaked at the thought not being able to go when I wanted or needed to.

Katie how are you feeling today? Any update on your car?

This morning when I drove through the village to go to the lumber store I slammed on my brakes when I saw a transport being unloaded with lovely flowers. I was able to get 2 hanging baskets of yellow begonias (Warren smiled a big smile I am sure) plus 3 other gorgeous mixed baskets. I usually make my own but these were just too beautiful to pass up.

Counting down the hours Mary? Who will mind the store while you are all gone?

LK I am so happy Andy will be able to help you with the raised bed. What will you put in it?

M is Murray back home or still over yonder? Piper gone into his new house yet?

Joyce loved your pics. Glad your GC visit went well. Did your new sofa arrive?

Marion I bet you are reveling in every second you are home. How is your DS doing? I sure hope you get to stay home longer than planned. Would your DS be able to handle a visit with you in your home.

Judy what are you up to this weekend?

Need to round up some dinner. It will be easy - warmed up BBQ's lamb kabobs, salad and mint sauce. This lamb was probably one of the best tasting pieces of lamb I have ever had.

Decided that as long as things are totally up in the air and i'm just waiting to get information from people I would scrub some tires. I think I've done eight or nine that are now ready to paint.

Yesterday Dana brought over two friends who live west of twon. I gave them a bunch of plants and talked their ears off about what I do and don't know abut plants here. They are a married couple and they have bought the local dive shop. Maybe I can trade plants for diving. Robert, the husband, promised they'd be back real soon as one of my dragonfruit plants has three rogue buds. Most of their blossoms finished about a month ago.

With so much up in the air, I put on mental blinders and set about doing what I can, mostly in the garden. Today I am also thoroughly soaking all the vetiver plants that have beeen separated and put into grow bags.

I have potted up lots of parsley plants and hve more to do. I think every parsley seed germinated. If I can start some other herbs from seed we should have plants to sell in October when the snowbirds return. Dana and Tom will be leaving in a couple of weeks.

Dianne, I think you can get a no bark collar. There is one that squirts citroline (I think iti's available from Amazon) and it doesn't shock the dog but Dana's friends have used it and found it to be very effective to stop excess barking. I'm really glad Max is so much better as I would have had to have him put down if I hadn't been able to keep him. I still have to be careful with him. He's much more affectionate and playful but where the other three have been with me since they were puppies are are like gummybears Max is a dog of Steel -never completely relaxed. There may also be herbs that would help to calm Duke. You can get a cd to induce al[ha waves in the brain. I wonder if that would work with dogs.

I'm making a loaf of bread for the dogs. I hope they like it. Since I am off wheat i don't use my bread machine.

Must prepare more seed baskets.

hugs, katie

I wish I could get mine done. Will your Medicare and insurance pay for it?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes because they tested an they partially block my vision. I was scheduled to have it and got sick and went into the hospital instead.

Nice picture Karen.

Hello To All;

Love the pic Karen.... Pretty flower pictures Joyce/Cookie !
Katie - so glad you are working with Max to keep him.

Dianne... Hope some of those suggestions help out with Duke. We tried the ultrasonic bark thing when we were trying to place one of Mom's dogs because the neighbors were complaining. We never found a solution but it was a very hectic time and I'm not sure we explored all the options.

We have been selling quite a bit of Dog Gelato at the shop and have a few regulars that are bringing their dogs by. I love to see it.....we keep a water bowl in front of the shop in our signature orange color.

Sales are increasing. It has been a difficult month because I never realized how much the payroll taxes would cost us the month after each quarter.

Yes Dianne.... we are "counting down" I feel different...like I can't quite believe we are going. We have our regular Chef Shelly in charge during the day and part time chefTaralyn has agreed to be "in charge" nights and weekends. I'm working on an "Accident folder" just in case... to have emergency contacts and etc. any advice from anyone on that is appreciated.

We have sold some art from our location and I found out we are in an Art Tax Free District.

Work has been difficult. Witchy is gone and her boss, the DOS just took a big account from me. She has promised to replace it but "too busy" to deal with it right now....

They just hired witchy's replacement.

1 week 4 days to vacation in DisneyWorld.

HUGS to all

Mary

PS: HAPPY MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND although I feel sure I'll get back on by then. I still need to take a pic of Betty's pretty yellow flowers which bring me such joy as the rare color in my backyard these days....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie did a box show up for Betty? It is for the frog swap? Or did Betty pick it up already?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Morning all ^_^
SUN SUN SUN .. will hang clothes OUTSIDE this morning .. especially the bedsheets YAHOO!

Karen, love the pic, 2 very pretty ladies !!

Dianne .. what can I say about Duke, besdies nothing,
The thought of you having to give him up sickens me .. perhaps, a no bark collar, or, as you are doing, meds ..
Our Piper and Lilly can start a 'BARKATHON' for NO reason whatsoever, I finally have to YELL at them and bring them into the house ..
Sounds as though you have done lots of yard work .. we'll be back at it out there again today .. have some Gladiolus to plant and some beds to rake ..

Katie, would you really try diving? DH does it .. he learned as part of his job, and, keeps it up .. me .. well .. I watch the gear on shore LoL

Mary, sounds as though you have things uncer control .. did you purchase 'trip insurance', just in case one of you had to come back for something? I doubt it would happen, but, always nice to have that covered.
My Westies would love some of your gelato :-)

Washing machine is calling, have to wipe down the line before I hang out the clothes ..

TOODLES

Linda Kay the box came Thursday. Thought I had posted that. My mind is shot!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

M, sun is always good. Enjoy..nothing smells nicer than freshly washed laundry that has dried outside.

Dianne, I so hope things work out so you don't have to part with your doggie baby. I wish we could have a dog where we live but being on the lake and it having several resident alligators....just not good situation nor idea.

Ah, so Disney is calling you Mary. I had hoped to go for a few days before everything collapsed with my sister.......maybe before the summer is over my daughter and I can manage a trip. Do enjoy..as if I needed to say that.

Katie, my son dives. He works for SEAC (National Parks Service) and he is on one of the diving teams as an archaeologist. He has had some interesting experiences and wonderful pictures to show of the work being done by the department.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie can you take pictures and send them to Betty, so she can post them please? Thanks so much!
