That will hopefully keep you busy.

I was at the graveyard last Saturday and put flowers on grandma's grave..so many things planned for this weekend it might be hard to put in a Mother's Day 'to do' day..
Laughing, almost did all on my list that the boys were to do

2 of the events both Greg and Jeff will be there so there will be plenty of family time.

Hi Everyone, I'm here. Not much energy and that is getting old. Tony and I have had flu on alternate days for about a week.

Some good news: neighbor Dana found an add for people who can help me get my car registered so I can drive it here and in the States and have insurance for both countries. That is a huge relief as Amma will be in San Ramon starting May 28 and I'd like to go see her. I haven't driven since the accident last fall except for a brief test drive of my new vehicle and I am quite nervous. Tony is going to talk to Polol the mechanic about doing a very thorough check-up and I will allow myself as much time for the trip as possible.

Our weather is beautiful and is heating up. I'm still getting by with fans for now.
.
Cooking sweet potatoes for pudding.

Max is making great strides. On Sunday morning he played with me on the bed, rolling around and waving his paws. For some reason, relaxing while on the bed has been his biggest challenge. He's been much less jumpy lattely. He still does the occasional growl or attempt to bite me if he's scared but there's been a huge improvement and he's so proud of himself when he overcomes an old fear.

There was a loud bang outside the other day. I was on the puter. All four dogs quickly came to be beside me. They didn't shiver or whimper. It was just clear that we all felt it was best for us to be together. noise was not repeated and I still don't know what it was.

When I do have a little energy I am gradually getting things in order. The dust is endless. I feel like I should SuperGlue a broom to my hand.

keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Katie, glad you posted, was worried about you..flu hitting oth you and Tony yuk

Know you so enjoy seeing Amman, your taking a more leisurely trip would help..when will you find out about the licensing issue??

Wonder what the noise could have been..earthquake? Thunder?

What a mess in the washroom, just the shell of the cupboard remains..Jason will be back tomorrow night to put shelves and more support for the countertop..am hoping it will be done ore the weekend, if not then surely beginning of next week

Tile guy will come when he has a few hours to spare between jobs, anxious to get that done as well

Headache city, going to make myself comfy in bed

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning,

Im up early, had to take Kyle to work and am just siting enjoying coffee in the quiet.

Doctor yesterday said headache and issue is from my inner ear being full of fluid.
Seasonal allergies have kicked in with the trees blooming and the two out front I am
allergic too.

Supposed to be a slight shower, then sunshine and 60s.

Enjoy your day.....

Debbie

Good morning!

Out of lurking mode this morning, asking for good thoughts and prayers. Willow, my 13 year old is at the vets for surgery. She has a fast growing mass on the side of her neck, the fluid he was able to extract yesterday made him think that if it's not cancer that it could turn malignant. So just praying he gets it all, and hope she has a few good years left in her. He did say her blood work and chest xray were remarkably good for a dog her age.

It's supposed to hit the mid 80's here today. Very humid this morning when I went out.

Deb

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers for your dog!

Debbie, enjoy your coffee and quiet time! Sorry your allergies are bad!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Deb, prayers for Willow .. kinda got me as I just hung up from speaking with my cousin (she breeds and shows Shelties) .. her 12 yr old, Amber, is having surgery today for removal of a mass in her belly .. non malignant, but, still scary .
You'll be in my thoughtd that's a fer sure ..

Have been kinda busy, have only had time to lurk, no time to sit it seems, that time of year when you look out and see something else has to be done .. AND .. in anticipation of Lorna's parents visit, i am cleaning the house as well ... won't be until June (mid) but, don't want to leave everything til the end .. as DH is a hoarder, well, it's a challenge !

Off for a swim later this morning (at the gym) .. hope my ear will be OK, it's still giving me grief .. no pain, but just feels as though there's fluid in it ..

Sorry to hear you have had the flu Katie , best of luck with the car licensing

Is your headache gone this morning Betty?

Think I'll treat myself to a Timmies (Keurig)

Take care everyone

Toodles

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Better get that fluid checked out, don't need to get an infection! Especially if your swimming a lot!

Betty, where are you today?

Lyndonville, NY

Linda, meant to say "thank you" to alerting me to Bettys message the other day. Never would have made it on time without your help.

I didn't know this was allergies, just know I kept feeling like I was going to faint or fall and had a headache. No stuffy nose or anything!!!

Prayers for Willow and the others. AND can't believe Piper is 4 years old already!!!
My Izzy is having a hard time, but she knows I am out of sorts.....and being a good nurse. Just
hope I don't fall over her! lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No problem Debbie, so glad you were able to make it to see her!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning

Debbie, spring sure plays a part in your having a not so fun spring, looks like its inside for you girl for a few more weeks..is it harder for you in the spring or fall?

Deb, so sorry to hearAbout Willow, sending prayers..you must be terribly worried. Difficult dealing with an aging furry..hugs for you!

'M' you treat Lorna's parents like Royalty lol , don't ovedo in the cleaning as I am suremthey are there to see you,Gord and Lorna and not the house. Water in the ear can create all kinds problems..are you dizzy? You aren't the one driving are you.

Gorgeous out right now, calling for rain later, just maybe it will pass us by.
Still not warm enough to to sit out and have coffee on the back deck yet..was listening to the news, we're warning us July/August will have below average temps so will have to rely on souther USA trip to get some heat..

Having coffee looking at my new stokes seeds magazine I got yesterday in the mail, drats more garden art than any listing of seed/plant so maybe yet another magazine is coming..lots of pretties for the garden though.

Meant to get a picture from Rita, last night Suzanne, Rita and I were sitting on the back deck steps while Jason was in and out with debris from washroom so I said why on earth with all the seating re we sitting n hard steps? I sat on settee, feet up on coffee table and relaxed..Rita said she had to take a photo as proof that I sat. Lol

Off to start the boat cushions, wish me luck..need luck, had dimensions done to know exactly how much fabric I needed, we bought an extra few meters just ncase..was heading to bed when the phone rang, Robert telling me that the man he bought the boat from forgot to give him a large unit..yikes we bought all the fabric they had on the roll of that design, big sigh..I better be frugal

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, my allergy testing showed I am allergic to tree pollen...when the leaves first come out.
That explains my eyes tearing and red. Taking a zyrtec daily and hope it helps.

good luck with cushions

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hope you can stretch that fabric and make it work!

Any word from Noah, why he did not show up for work?

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Thank you all for your prayers. Just got a call from the vet, surgery went well. He said she's waking up a little slower than expected but vitals look good. I can pick her up after work this afternoon. I'm so relieved!

Deb

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

YAY .. good to hear WIllow has done well .. hope she has a quiet night ..

Re allergies, I, thankfully, am NOT one who suffers with them .. Lorna and her Mom both do as do my DGD and DDinL.
This year is supposed to be a particularly bad year for pollen .. I have heard it referred to as 'POLLEN VORTEX' .. which means, ALL the trees are going to bloom at once as it has been such a brutally cold winter .. gag me ...
This fluid in my ear is not really bothering me .. seems to get 'muffly' at night when I lay down .. when I blow my nose it kinda 'screams' .. I may go and purchase some OTC ear gtts .. here I am I have NEVER had an ear problem ..

Betty .. best of luck on the sewing job ahead of you ..
It's massive !!!
Re the 'good chairs' .. LOL .. the three of us were perched in 3 OLD OLD plastic chairs the other day, while in the back shed sits 2 beautiful patio sets .. guess we feel we'll jinx the weather if we put them out ..

The swim was nice, but, the pool sure was not 86F !!! Only spent a half hour in it .. quite the procedure getting Lorna in and out of the pool and then the shower .. nice the club lets us use the family change room so that we aren't in everyones way .. the only day it every gets use is Sunday afternoons for the family swim from 1-4pm .. so, during the week when Lorna works out or we swim, we have the room to ourselves .. It has a walk in shower, a bathrrom, and a nice vanity with hair dryer .. plus a nice roomy room and bench for all the equipment .. wish more business were like that !!

Fish and chips for dinner, better get a bustle on ..

Evening all

Didn't rain today, sunshine galore but now that the sun has gone in I'm chilled.

Oh no Katie, guess that you weren't over the flu and out you were being active and now a relapse. Lordy, does that mean you can't drive the vehicle? Sure hope something can be done for you as you really need wheels right?

Morning

Beautiful out there this mornimg, left doors open so that fresh air can come in and take the winter air away. Worked a bit in the gardens' gained ground with the raking, this weekend if I can work the gardens all that will remain is the edging and just sit, relax and enjoy the summer.

Need to go shopping for something to finish of the 40th Anniversary present I need for Paul and Wilena and a 90th birthday gift..what to get for her i have no idea. That will fill Friday in

Greg will be here in the morning to start his mothers day work list. Then 2 functions, there goes saturday

Sunday, both greg and Jeff will be here until it's time to leave to take mom outgo marketplace buffet..for her I will put $$in a card so she an go to bingo one day.

Sharoncalled last night to ask if I've heard the the cottage sold, she said her son who lives with mom was told for him not to tell any of us that the cottage did sell..Isuppose to be her business and not ours... I called her last night not once did she say it was sold or did I ask.

She said she was tired, had been to the cottage and cleaned a lot out. My brother his wife's d step daughter worked there all day leaning, this week Berie will get a green dumpster to do a master clean up... Again I did not ask why..if she wants to be stubborn so I can be!

As you can see ive a busy weekend ahead..

what do you all have planned, hope something more relaxing??

Do share

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning!

Andy and family are supposed to come in and finish making me another raised bed.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Foggy morning, impending rain, but, temps going up into the 50s after ..

Never know what the weekends will bring .. DS (Murray) called this morning, he's working all weekend .. daughter in law will not be here with the kids, that's for sure, she'll go to HER Mothers, as it should be I guess .. Murray will come over on his days off ..
I have been invited to attend a conference at the University .. Palliative Care .
I guess I'll just wait and see what the weather is like, would like nothing more than to bring out the patio furniture, and spruce up the property .. can't do that if it's rainin !!
DH is off to teach his class, he's also fasting for some blood work at noon .. he LOVES breakfast, so, I KNOW he's gonna be one hungry feller.

Katie, how do you feel today ?

Betty .. what will happen to all the dolls your Mom has? As you say, only grandsons in the family ..
The whole 'selling up' commotion is such a stressor, I would be a wreck and let EVERYONE know ..

Think I may treat myself to another coffee .. don't do it often ..

TGIF everyone

"M"' your DIL could make a trip to visit with you sat and her mom Sunday, unless she is near your house and could do both. Know Melanie always says its up to Greg re his mom but she does drop in for a bit. Will be different this year as we've got 2 other gatherings we will be at together so that is nice in itself...sure beats seeing family other than funerals.

You are right about the stressed, my problem is she will put it over our heads and say we didn't want to help when she didn't even tell us when she needed help. Bernie/Charlie are out of a job so it would be nice for them to get it done and make a few $$ seeng the rest of us are hard to get together due to schedules, I could but not so much Sharon and Mike.

Looks as though you have a busy weekend planned as well. Here is hoping you get rays this weekend as they are calling for cold temps next weekend and lousy weather, usually happens on our may long weekend.

I've just been outside again, sun keeps coming in and out so I catch what rays there are..is nice seeing all the lawn furniture out.here is hoping you get some nice weather and get to play outside.

Was out to the barnboard shed I made a few years ago and smiled, there sitting looking at me were 2 juanami's Judy and Liz made for me, gave them a smile and remembered a nice visit we had at Judy's and our trip into Chicago for the day.

That is the thing about these treasures, they are not just treasures but triggers to bring on fun memories

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What is a juanami's?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Morning Ladies!

LK, I think those are pot people. Not sure though.

Rain headed our way. We need it. I've a house to clean, but they're on vacation so no special time to do it. I'll wait till the rain comes, till then I'll enjoy the swing! Have a few things to get in the ground.

No plans yet for this weekend, no I won't be seeing my daughter as they're leaving for Cedar Point. Hopefully I'll get to see or hear from the two Ohio sons and hear from the Texas one!

Okay best get to gardening before the rain chases me in!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes, Joyce, believe that is what judy calls them. Lol. How I wish I could sit on the swing with you and chat.

The day Robert and I went to fabricland we went to the liquidation center, they had a heavy duty metal swing, roof and it also opened into a bed..was thinking how I would love it..where I would put it?? Would I use it?? Did I want to spend $350?? Didn't come home with me but sure would have wanted it to...should have told the boys I wanted it..grin

Life just gets in the way of families getting together, no difference really then them wanting to do something with us and we are busy.

Let's hope Joyce you hear from them all!

This day is perfect weather wise

Out on back deck washing everything down

Put the stained glass windows up

Can't believe how dirty the doors are, partly because kitties wre out in the muck this spring then scratch at the foor to come in

Rita just went through her list of to do for this weekend and I told her mine, guess we will be like boats that pass in the night.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh! Meant to say, Marilynne how much I enjoyed that YouTube Mother tribute. I loved it! Thanks.

Oh Betty, you know we always find a place to put the things we fall in love with! Should have got it!

Took some pictures this morning. I'll share a few but don't want to hog the thread!

I too liked your video "M"!

Cookie, what is the 2nd picture, red and pink blooms? It is so pretty!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ahhh envious you have color in yur gardens already Joyce...wow

Water beads falling off my brow and I haven't left the back porch, sure did need a cleaning..next weekend I'll pressure wash the deck floor and it should last till fall.

Contractor Rita had dropped in and said he would be back mid week to do the ceramic flooring in the washroom..so wish I could get a new tub unit but he seems to think because of original construction I'd best leave as is..did say if I didn't mind spending big bucks then go for it...think I will wait.

One more go at cleaning then will have bath, make sure everything is on my list and go to town
Rita said she would bring ome Chinese food so there you go, no cooking tonight nor all weekend.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not sure if I said I enjoyed video but did!!! Thanks for posting

Think with summer on our doorsteps when we post a photo if known we could post the name that way if our zones would tolerate them we could include them in our garden..

Joyce saw greenery on the pea tree

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

That reminds me, Betty, Bertie got a pea tree the other day. It's different than yours. After they pick it up from the nursery I'll take a picture to show you.

LK, that is my tree peony. I counted 16 of the 21 buds on it open or opening. LOVE it!

The other picture is a Camassia. It came along when I was gifted with some Cherry Bells. Gotta love it!

First picture is my new Elephant Ear, Portora.
Second is my birthday gift from Bill planted.
Third is a fushia I just potted up. I wanted one of these purple and red fushias last year, but didn't want to pay the 21 bucks to get it, so when I found them in 4 inch pots I got them (2) and made my own basket!
