That you are Debbie..how is Izzy! Still problems with flea bites?

Lyndonville, NY

It isnt' flea bites Betty, it is a yeast infection in her skin. They have tried everything. And her ears are a mess.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I posted Monday but here it is again. Definitely NOT how she looked when I got her. but in two short days, she has changed much in looks and personality. Still to be scheduled teeth cleaning and spaying. Giving her a bit of free time to relax with us. Also had to have meds for tapeworm.

Poor Izzy, now why did I also think she had problems with flees..saloon had such hot spots..feel so badly when there was little to be done.

Victoria Harbour, ON

She is a darling

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

My son has a yellow lab with skin problems, he and vet have tried everything over the years and nothing seems to help. Poor guy stinks to high heaven and has bald spots too.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, it is really nice today, only supposed to reach 78 for the high!

Karen, Lacie is so sweet, cant wait to see her all groomed and clean. My friend has a small dog, that has a skin problem, and her vet told her to give her a fish oil capsule every day. it sure helps her out!

Today is my beautiful daughter Becky's 51st birthday. Also wonderful SIL's b' day too

That is what is going on with Izzy, the smell is horrific. We have specialty shampoos, go to groomers.....changed foods for allergies and no grains. And still no answers.

She is a Newfoundland mix. This is her last summer.

78 is a wonderful temp LindaKay, hope you are celebrating by playing in the gardens.

Karen, Happy Birthday to your loved ones

Debbie, Izzy sure is a looker

Sun trying to come out, had planned because it was raining to sew, no go, cut all my scraps in different sizes thinking I was organizing myself but not..limited myself to what I can do with them so no sew today..moved on over to the recipe books, want them behind me.

speaking of organizing myself, decided to get my download for May..as to not get overwhelmed marked down week 1

May 1 - prune out all winter-killed branches from trees and shrubs (ok, Mother nature needs to
co-operate

May 2 - Check gutters and remove lead debris ( not climbing ladders so will wait for boys)

May 3 - Remove dead leaves and folliage from flower beds / gardens DONE

May 4 - Plan Ahead for Mother's Day DONE

May 5 - Cinco de Mayo Day..celebrate by making a Mexican dish or go out for Mexican food
ooops, not fond of Mexican Food

May 6 - clean patio/deck and check to see if repairs are needed

May 7 - Wash lawn furniture and set it out on patio *a breeze, saved washing and bought 2
new sets lol DONE

Guess what I've already done I can work on the gutters and cutting dead growth from trees/shrubs

Victoria Harbour, ON

drats, Fabric Shop called, said my Janome 9000 will be $260 to repair..
paid last fall around $300..got to wonder when it's time to say goodbye to it
Told them to fix it this time, it's my baby but like anything next time it breaks I'll have to say my final farewell to it.

Should be ready next week.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

OYE, vut a day !!
BIZZY .. but, home now, WITH salmon for supper ..

Karen L O V E Lacey, and, love the fact you have taken her in .. YOU are HER hero ^_^
Nothing quite as rewarding as the UNconditional love of a rescued pupper or kitty ..
I see she's what my breeder friend calls a 'partie' .. black and tan ..
Enjoy her adoration .. you are so special .

Lorna is outside on this dreary IKKY afternoon, putting together Piper's new doghouse .. Lilly's as well, but, since it's Pipe's BDay on Sunday, it's his gift ..
No doubt Smokey the KING of the cats (and house) will be in it as well ..
I was about to go out and help, but, she wants to do it on her own .. she is one stubborn woman!! LoL

Betty, it'll take Gord and the 'guys' about 3-4 hours to get to Fort Frances .. it's a border town .. the town on the US side is International Falls MN .. it has a wonderful FASHION BUG store !!

Debbie, Izzy is such a gorgeous dog .. our Westies aren't to have wheat .. but, every so often they do have it .. happily, no problems .. the expense on products for the allergic puppers can become astronomical .. cortisone creams and shampoos .. dips .. meds .. and, still they suffer with their oozing areas .. plain sad that.

Off to chat with my Hospice client .. she's back home again .. and plans to STAY there ..

Toodles

Posted in length earlier and poof

Maybe I turned off iPad before it finished sending

Already bathed, fed and medicated, exciting evening ahead.

Just got off the telephone with Darlene, her mom has been unwell for many years, lately blood transfusions ever week, breathing is terrible..today Mae told doctors, facility caregivers and her girls enough is enough..she has no quality of life and just wants to go quietly.

Darlene went to barrie and had a long alk with her, as hard as it is she must accept Mae's decision. Hard though, in just over a year Darlene lost her hubby, her dad, sold her house, so much to deal with..she will find this overwhelming..with having no children her mom and 1 sister is really all she has left...sad

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear this! Sending prayers!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Betty, Darlene's family situation pretty much describes the situation here. After mom's passing, there are only the 2 of us. Things are better and come Monday morning I will start home. Currently it is planned I only stay week so Sue thinks. The psychiatrist and therapist will be working with her so I might get to stay longer......all depends on how she handles things.

Baton Rouge, LA

HUGS To all
Dianne...we are flying to Disney on Tuesday 5/20 through Sunday 5/25...quick trip. youngest DSD is over the moon getting to bring her BF Oldest DSD in Orlando in the Disney college program is excited.
SOn and his GF are good.
Seems as though there are hairy moments all the time with the business.... our Chef had a sinus problem and has not been in in 2 days.... we are blessed that Jalon, the deaf Culinary Student filled in on Wednesday and was a HUGE CHAMPION and we had an ex- employee come back today Peter...he kept things going.
I had been telling DH Lance to know the kitchen but he didnt'.
NOW maybe he will realize that there may be times that he has this experience and needs to use it.
It's just not his forte....
My boss keeps promising me better accounts but I never get them. I'm just in limbo and hoping God shows me my path very soon.
I took myself off the schedule now we have such a wonderful and capable staff but I miss being on the schedule and I hope very soon I am back on....

I love seeing all of you in my garden in some way.... Betty my yellow daisy like flowers are beautiful and I think may make good cut flowers for the shop

Belle is just full of personality

HUGS to all
Mary

Glad to hear someone stepped up to help in the kitchen Mary.

Morning,

Raining again, likely not see SUNSHINE for another week or so!

Marion, very much like you and Sue, Darlene does have another sister but she partakes in nothing and complains about everything..has a high position as negotiator with the Government so feels the other two should be in attendance with mom..she'll be there to collect her hundreds of thousands though, rest assured. Darlene says when her mom is gone she wants no further contact with her..thankfully she and Sue are close (another Sue)
I'm so hoping that you will get to spend more than a week at home, it's what you need right now.

Mary, as an owner I think you have to be more than knowledgeable, how else can you train?
Sure hope things improve for you at work, thought now that witchypoo was gone things would be better for you. Perhaps after your visit to Disney you'll come back ready to take on the world again. So glad some of the yellow flowers took and yes, would make a pretty bouquet.

My best memory of a McDonalds was when we were travelling, not sure if it was Indianna? we stopped in for a quick bite to eat, there were country table cloths on the tables and fresh bouquets of flowers..the home touch was warming..think more franchises should make an attempt such as they had..

Decided today is the day I will finish quilting the hockey quilt..was going to put the table/chairs together for back patio but that will wait..just maybe if not sunshine it will be a non rain day tomorrow and I can sit outside and do them.

funny last night, that little worker Noah came to the door at 7:30 and said he'd start raking, brought along a friend, raked for no more than 10 minutes and it started to rain so I told him to come back when it wasn't raining...'oh but I need money, my friends birthday is tomorrow and we are having a sleepover' said he'd get sick so out of the rain he was to go..asked if he could get $$$ and he'd come back Sunday to do the work for it..I gave him a talking to, broke down and gave him $25 and said he'd better fulfill his promise of coming and doing it soooo
it will be interesting lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

He had a lot of nerve asking for payment for only 10 minutes of work!

Victoria Harbour, ON

kids, his mom would likely give him the what for if she knew. Will trust him..will give him till Sunday night then go over for a visit lol

sun is so trying to come out, would like to play outside for a bit..still early, might happen

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Bin a day ..

Nails are done.
Chinese Food for supper.
2.5 hours spent trying to entice the dogs into the new doghouse (FAIL)
Some yard work done, but, can;t get near the MAIN firepit for snow ..

Thinking bedtime will be early, AND, not taking my chemo tonight because of the wedding tomorrow ..

TTFN

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Enjoy the wedding!

Verona, ON

M you sure have had a busy day. I haven't been able to get outside as it is either raining or the winds are so strong it is impossible to rake.

Diesel has managed to bolt and hit the wet, fresh dirt garden again today. Love having that hot water tap outside. That was necessary when we had the SG business. Sometimes the panels were too big to scrub down even in the bathtub.I don't use patina so getting the pieces scrubbed clean before I waxed them was very important.

Mary I bet you are counting the seconds until you get to Disney.Does your new boss know about your business?

LOL on trying to entice the dogs into the new house. Probably the cat will love it. Duke always waits for Diesel to play with a new toy or actually try anything new first.Guess he wants no surprises.

LKL sending positive wishes for your DDIL as her health journey unfolds.

M good call on the chemo drugs. You want to be able to enjoy the wedding.

Sunday I am going to house sit while a Celebration of Life takes place.I don't handle events like these well and it is just too dang close to the anniversary of Warren's passing. Glen died of cancer as well. The widow is concerned about someone coming to the house while the family is at the hall. Sad isn't?

Betty I ended up making Swedish Split Pea and the Turkey Rice soup.

UPS is here!
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bin a day. Lol

Yes, here as well, weather has a lot to do with it!

Dianne, anything interesting in your box from UPS. Usually you've ordered some good books.
How fantastic having hot water outside, sure the furries love hot baths. Looks like diesel is enjoying playing outside..how bout Duke?

Funny, I patina everything

Will have to take a run to SG studio and see what is new..do you get SG magazines?

"M" the furries will enjoy their new housing, just going to take time

Good thinking not taking your chemo drugs tonight, won't create a problem health wise will it?

Debbie, did another box come for me..think some froggies are on the loose. Lol

Promise, last box for awhile

Chinese sounds delicious, I was too lazy to even order something next door and ended up taking one of my meat pies out of the freezer..just have to micro potato and put on veggies, surely I can do that.

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, no I haven't seen another box and have been watching. Nothing since sewing machine.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just thought I'd check Debbie if I was the one not responding to the arrival of her frog box.
You must have a room just with my boxes...

How did your day go?

Rita just got in, both she and I are tired, just going to have supper then calling it a night..now if only sleep will come

Dianne, did you sleep better last night? Amazing what you can cook when you can't sleep, you must have leftovers for your midnight snack

Lyndonville, NY

It has been somewhat quiet. I have been watching as someone said it was due to come.
All the boxes are in the front hall in front of the piano...no problem.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

can't catch up on all, but here goes........
Dianne & Shirley..... it's years, but the memories live on
Karen - what a sweet puppy! (I know - 5 yo, but still looks like a puppy :-) )

Work's continuing to go well
It's my mom's 95th b-day today - I called her, and her voice is pretty whispery, but she sounds good all the same.
I'm ok, and so's the car, but I was involved in a rear-ender on the way home today.
stop & go rush hour traffic, and only about 5 km/hr (about 7-10mi/hr??) Car ahead of me must have thought they'd hit the car ahead, so braked rather suddenly and so did I. Then I felt a "nudge" and looked in my rar view. Then a "WHOMP" as I got hit harder. Apparently the car behind the car behind me..... hit her hard enough to "bounce" her against mine, twice. only a slight scratch on mine, scratches and scuffs on hers, but the 3rd car back had his hood buckled and a lot more damage.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Goodness, glad your OK! Amazing how fast those accidents can happen!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Susan, so glad the job is going well, I know you are much happier now.
Kind of hard to control things in rush hour traffic. My hubby got a ticket for following to close at rush hour...he was between two lights a block apart, everyone moving about 10 mph.The judge dismissed the ticket I guess he agreed it was a dumb ticket too.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I am much happier - I like to work with people who are "comfortable in their own skins" and everyone there is....

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All;

I took myself off the schedule...So I'm now home on a Friday night....
Dianne.... The big boss commented in a luncheon I was not a part of back in December that she had to find out her "Employee was opening a restaurant in the newspaper"....
Still waiting on "That account"
She "gave" me an account. They are in 150 days payment and no schedule of advertising....that's not an "account" to me.

Karen - I've gotten a "dumb" ticket recently as well..... 40 in a 35.... really?
Hope you all are doing well....
I'm in such a transition lately....
Betty your yellow flowers are quite a joy as many others are not blooming as they usually would be....
will try to get a pic.

Hugs to all
Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all

Ohh glad you weren't hurt Susan, got to wonder how so many accidents happen when barely moving. Happy birthday to your mom, at that age one is faiil. So pleased you are liking the job and people,. Bob, is he still working?a

Mary, would love to see a photo, do you have all weekend to yourself..can't see what difference it would make owning a business as long as you aren't taking mega time off and dong your job..did she catch you by surprise.

Thanks Debbie, I am sure the are in the way!
Is there anything but rain left in the sky?

Karen, you back to feeling your old self yet?
Today is the 10th anniversary of dad's death..jwaiting to hear from Sharon about meeting up and going to cemetery so in the meantime think I will not wait for the boys nd will put the patio set together, me less thing they have to do next weekend. Not so sure lots will get done seeing as they changed Paul and Wilena's 40th to afternoon rather than night because she is not well enough to put in a full late evening, then my aunts 90th birthday in the evening..maybe I should change work day to another weekend!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Laundry is done, gawd what a gigantic job that is now .. can only be done on a weekend, or, after 7pm during the week .. I SO liked throwing in small loads during the week and hanging them out on the line ..
This is a schedule dreamt up by the hydro electric people here in Ontario .. but, I hear tales it might be blowing up in their faces .. major overloads on weekends now ..

NO flowers to be seen here ,, just the Hens and Chicks and , of course, WEEDS, they seem to thrive no matter what !

Still trying to convince Piper AND Lilly to go inside the new doghouse .. time will tell ..

Should get moseying along ..

Well I hear we have a new great grandson, that is all we know, and might be all we ever know. Sadly this granddaughter fell into a hole with prescription drugs and isn't too successful at crawling out. She has also shut herself away from all the family. In one rehab she took up with a young man who has 13 mug shots showing in FL. They checked out together and she ended up deserted in a park with no money. Finally she got hold of her mom who picked her and her daughter. Before long she left her moms, fortunately she left the daughter there. and went into rehab again. There she met another fellow and once again they left. Only this time she got pregnant. Mom has guardianship of the granddaughter and is going to sue for custody. Meanwhile daughter posted it was baby time and someone called her mom. Mom called all the hospitals in the county where she was and finally located her. However she got very angry at mom and would tell her nothing about the baby other than he was born. Whole thing is heartbreaking. We tried to reach out to her but were rebuffed. Her brother took the same route with the family, He has a beautiful 7 year old daughter that we are not allowed to see. His aunt posts photos for me. Why must they use children as weapons?

Karen, so sorry to hear that. Same thing I am going through

Afternoon

Brrr did the graveyard with Sharon, think we put flowers on everyone's graves, dad would be proud of us, then went and visited an Ncle in the seniors home! Did a few tings in town and couldn't wait to get into a hot bath, was soaking wet and cold. Did stop amd picked up Chinese food for supper, Rita's at her house working and although she said she would cook a roast beef dinner, didn't want her to.

Before I left my youngest brother mike called 'do something with your mom'
She got an offer on her cottage, only been on the market a few weeks and now she doesn't want to sell..didn't want to tell her my siblings called me so made an excuse to meet her in barrie Sunday for dinner, then she went on to tell me about the offer, I broke out with oh that is wonderful mom, got told quickly she is moving there because she can't take the stairs at her home!! N the meantime last week she couldn't stay there (cottage) because it's in the middle of nowhere and if she can't drive much longer what would she do? Now she says she can't do the stairs at the house..SOOOO want to say I don't want to hear one word about cottage or house..enough is enough, she doesn't want to sell either Unt must..my suggestion to siblings is let her get financially strapped looking after 2 places and make her own decision as to where she will live and what she shall do

I stopped in to an active living place and just love it

One large studio is $2,685 , 1 bedroom is $3,850 a month all inclusive
Took photo's, wasn't suppose to but lady let me..it would be wonderful for her but forget telling her abut the place, she would be insulted

Karen, heart goes out to you..I'm with you and Debie, why kids have to be pawns I will never know. Hardest part is the child will grow up thinking he/she is not wanted.

Having trouble with my quilter, keeps breaking thread, so wanted to get that hockey quilt off the frame..Michelle from the fabric shop I purchased it at is off till Tuesday so will go in and see what the problem is, I'm doing something wrong for sure.

Hmmm think I will take a nap then decide if I want to put garden chairs/table together

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, maybe it is something simple as the thread? try a different spool and see what happens. Sorry to hear about your Mom not making up her mind!

Karen, so sorry to hear your not allowed to see some of the Grand babies!
