Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old&new
Debbie, give Betty hugs from us please?
Best kind of a meeting, spur of the moment, hope you 2 gals have a nice chat and many good hugs ..
Weston is precious .. they may be able to keep him from you arms, but, NEVER from your heart ..
Betty, the hockey quilt is unreal .. I certainly hope it's kept for years to come ...
OMGAWD the MACKINAC ... have been over it a few times .. as a wee child, no problem as I was in my Mom's lap and didn't really know what going on .. as a teen I was with my oldest brother who's kids were about my age, and I just kept quiet so they wouldn't feel scared ..
DH and I and DS went over about 16 years ago and I was in a flippin PANIC .. SOOOOooooo high !!!! The water below was rough ..
Guess you might say heights and me are not to be mixed !
Good day here .. 5 minutes of flurries this morning .. then some spatters of rain .. then sun ..
Lorna really enjoyed the course she took .. will know the results of the exam next week ..
Off to feed the doggies
Toodles

Had a great visit with Betty, gave lots of hugs......we did lots of talking and "therapy" and I was great til I had a meltdown on the way home.
She got delayed at the border, being backed up. I hope she crosses back in with all her swap bundles....with no problem.
Was a great visit, but too short.
Quick 'hi' just got in, one tired girl but had lots of hugs from Debbie, sure enjoy visiting with her!
Took her for lunch so she didn't ransom all my swap boxes. Lol
Ask Debbie, car was packed..add a big roll of batting and 20 yes of fabric and 2 no sew blakets well let's just say not much room for anything else.
Got close to border and saw a lineup which would have taken 2 /3 hrs to cross, all trucks, one moved over Ito lineup and car lane was clear, but 2 cars ahead of me
Love these young border us, asked me how long I'd been over, just the Fternoon I said, told him I had much to declare and where should I go..he asked what I had to declare, went on about dg swaps etc, said have a nice day, I asked where I went to declare everything, he said no need off you go
So Rita is making me a coffee, I stopped and bought a cake at Foodland, not that I need it after eating a full bag of licorice.
Debbie I so want to thank you for coming to meet me on such short notice..Lindakay, partly you for calling her and telling her I was making N unscheduled roadtrip
Hugs
Glad to hear you guys got to meet up! Did you both good!
Home.....sleeping in my own bed tonight!
Ahhhh.... the comforts of your own bed! Enjoy!
Ahhh is so right.......
So happy you are home safe Marion.
Wonderful Marion..bet Kim is even more thrilled havingj her mom home!
The grandchildren will be thrilled to see you too!!!! And the kitty!
Oh what a beautiful morning...if one can overlook all the downed limbs from the storms of the last 2 months; overgrown flower beds, dead plants that have not been attended to (that's my job not Kims) and plants that are blooming inspite of being in their pots...had bought them the day before I was called south. BUT, the birds are feeding on the shoreline, it is cool with a slight breeze and best of all..my kitty is curled up beside me! Yes, indeed it is a glorious morning!!
Talked with my sister and she was very upbeat and on her way to a woman's group at her church. They are assembling things for Vacation Bible School. Said she had a little anxiety when she went to bed but soon pushed it away.....good sign.
Hope everyone is having a fantastic day and I am not off to tackle some much needed cleaning up here. Life is good.
Don't overdo Marion..kitty beside you means all is well in your corner of the world for sure!
Each day Sue pushes it aside, meets new people the stronger she will get.
Nothing like the sound of birds chirping..
have a couple of photo's to post, best I get them organized and post them, would give my fingers a break from hand sewing on the quilt
Sun is out right now, would love to get some work outside done but lots to keep me busy..contractor coming tonight to go over what I want done in the washroom..BIL Robert also coming over, seems he bought a boat, perfect condition except something got into the cushions of the cuddy, he said he remembered someone who sews lol so not sure what time he'll come, told him to not make it late..I'm tired and will be an early evening.
Betty, you sure got lucky yesterday crossing over.....but you lost out on getting frisked!! That still makes me laugh from that day.
Sunshine and birds chirping here also. Having my leftovers for lunch today. Thank you again for that wonderful meal.
Think they have my number Debbie, I'm too anxious lol
Food was delicious, wish I could have taken mine home
Lordy, this morning I took one box in at a time and opened it, Rita kept saying 'all that is from one person?'
Ohhh have a photo of a new squirrel who loves my peanuts, must post photo
I am soooo Happy you two got to have a visit!!
Welcome home Marion. ♥♥♥
Thunder, sorry I didn't call or stop yesterday but I was so eager to get home. I only stopped once for gas and boy am I paying for it today. My bum knee is complaining big time but that will pass soon.
Yes, Betty all is good with my kitty by my side....I sure missed her..well both of them.
How was the dungeon Marion, more work done than you thought?
Dianne, thinking of your today..hugs
Oh my yes. It is looking fantastic; in fact, I told the kids I thought I would move down there and have my private bedroom and bath. They rolled their eyes. Charles ran out of wood for the trim work so we will be getting the rest of that this week. Not sure which day but I will be helping him install the new door.
sounds wonderful Marion, what a great homecoming!
doesn't have a walk out basement door does it?
Yes, it does but it isn't actually a basement.
Marion, split level?
Raked for over an hour, tmorrow I will go over to Noah's, tell him I did the 1 hr of raking that he was to do therefore he must pay me $$$ I prepaid him and see the what the response will be.
Jason came over, he is Suzanne's future SIL, with the wedding only weeks away he only has time for the countertop/taps etc. that is ok, I will take what he can do and be patient. I emptied the caninet, jason will come, after his,day of work tomorrow and start
Rita will ask her contractor if he can do the slate floor tile, hopefully he can
Then Robert, roger's brother dropped in with boat pads for the cuddly, mega work..I will figure out how many meters I need and we will go to fabricland tomorrow afternoon and see hat they have in stock.says he needs blue
Then Greg dropped in, saw themhockeymquilt, said he,would get me snowmobile pictures to make his. Lol
Then, lots of then's right
Said his friend's wife has 3 tops needing quilting and if I can't do them then maybe I could showmhermhow??
I have a feeling nobody thinks I have a life.
Betty, you need to print up your schedule, THEN when you are presented with thing needing done. show the schedule and tell them you will add to the bottom of the list.
I like Karen's idea of a schedule Betty. There are times I feel like I don't have a life!
Nope Betty, it is not split but 3 levels. Hard to explain so maybe I can get a picture to show one of these days. I love the way the inside is done but there are some days the stairs bother me.....not often though.
Really tired tonight..started having coughing spells late this afternoon and they just about did me in. Tomorrow will be better.
Morning
Nip in the air but not raining, at least for now!
Karen, do try and keep an updated 'to do' list
even have a 5' blackboard in the craft room
not sure it works, sometimes they feel you can just fit it in
of course I'm my own worse enemy, could learn the word 'no' but that will never happen so best I not complain
Marion, do you think it's the change in the weather, damper where you are vs where your sister lives? so look forward to photo's....love photo's
Morning everyone! 72 right now with 83% humidity. Sure wish it would rain!
Looks like you have a few projects to do Betty! Hope you can find the fabric you need!
There are some really great outside fabrics out now. Hope your search is an easy one.
Getting ready to go to Joanns. I'm dropping off Brandon's quilt to my friend to quilt for me today. I thought I had plenty of batting but NOT!!! So I'll pick that up, go meet her and then she and I and another friend will do lunch. It is so nice to be able to get out like that again.
I'm also mailing those carriage covers to you today Betty....
Here I am not wanting rain and you are praying for rain...lol
That's quite humid LindaKay, I love the heat but not a fan of humidity
Hope he finds the right fabrics, don't like projects hanging over my head so will get them done asap..he is so like his brother Roger, know now that he has the boat he wants boat in the water and NOW..my cousin lives up the lakes, for those of you who were at the sister's gathering it's on Georgian Bay up near Henry's Fish Fry, Doug always has a mega season opening on the island long weekend in May so Robert will be wanting to spend a few nights docked up there, these cushions form the beds
Sitting here quietly, one more edging of hand sewing and the border on the hockey quilt is done
Thanks Barb..I'll be on the lookout for them!
Don't spend all your $$$ at Joann's or you will have to sit and watch your friends eat as you'll have no more $$$
It is definitely cooler and less humid here than where Sue lives. The drive always wears me out...maybe cause I don't stop like I should and walk around. I get on the road and if traffic is moving smoothly I keep going. Also getting up tight as I do not want to go back down next week. So much I want to do here; yard a huge mess, the end of school is really stressing Kim (mainly the students with the total disrespect for teachers) and I just want my life back!! Sorry told myself I wouldn't complain.
Need to make a trip to Lowe's for shims. They will be needed for the installation of the new door to the dungeon. Son said he didn't trust me to buy the other materials needed. Such confidence in his mother! :-) Would love to go through their nursery but afraid I won't be able to get things planted with everything else on my plate this week.
Have a wonderful day everyone, stay dry is needed, wet if wanted and above all be happy.
Enjoy your outing Barb!
Marion, sounds like you have a list of things to do as well?
Good Morning!!
Today is the first day of "Freedom" Woohoo, Jacob bought his first vehicle!!
No more taxi service. LOL told him I'll probably cry as he drives off 'cuz he don't need me no more, snif, snif.
ROFLOL actually didn't just waved him off to have a good day. He made to end of block and came right back, hehe, forgot his bag...
Anyway, Ive been gone for eternity here! Got into a Major puzzle with a gazzilion pieces.
DH has now asked if i can sort all the electrical stuff, so what started in just looking for that, I ended up completely cleaning the front closet, file cabinet, the harport and foyer(again!). Not only electrical but any tool oriented item. Good heavens we have enough stuff to equip not one but several houses!
I have found stuff "lost" After taxiing I d get started and thats what i did for hours on end, including the normal everyday stuff, by the time everyone gets home and visits had, I sit and fall fast asleep!
Did get out in the yard to prepare the vegetable garden, woah, I way over did something, have a pulled muscle, not any fun what so ever...So moving rather slow but still got to keep at this.
So, I have been lurking and wow! Betty, what can I say, you are just amazing.
The Hockey Quilts!!!!!!!!!! OMG, they are just spectacular. I am sure the boys will cherish them forever.
You did a beautiful job on the recover of the patio furnishings too, they are nice and bright.
I just love that you got a visit with Alex and Addy, They are truly little Miracles. So beautiful the picture are.
The place you looked at for Mom looks wonderful! I think i want to move there, lol. Have you brought it up to her yet...Gosh maybe you could trick her into see it with you, you could always say your checking out for someone and ask her to come with....hmmm.
Oh geeze, hope Noah comes to help in some way for the prepay, lol kids!
This is about the millionth time I've asked the Boys to help with the front garden, they always say anytime then have something to do, sigh...Now that Jake has wheels, not sure I'll see him very much.
Yay and Yippee, for you and Debbie to hug each other up!! So glad you got an impromptu visit, sometime they are the best and right on time...
Big Armwraps Debbie...Yuck on dropping kitty food all over your feet, lol I know, past history but giggle giggle stuck in my head, so glad you got a good visit with Betty, sounds like you need it badly...I am sure your break-down was just the relief of being able to talk out the feelings...Hang in there.
Waiving hiya Thunder! Oh I am so glad Reighly is so much better! Soon she'l be walking in no time. How is Momma doing with her broken foot?
Karen, OHhh, your new little puppy is just adorable! I just love Cocker Spaniels. I bet your little Granddaughter is loving her up too?
Got to run for a few, be back in a bit.
Hey Judy, glad to hear Jake has a car! Now you can send him on errands for you! LOL! Hope your pulled muscle heals quickly!
ohhh don't you think Judy your worries will now start having his own car? I played the mom card for a few months when boys got their first vehicle, was always call me when you get there, call me when you leave there lol one soon gets over that!
What on earth will you do with yourself now that all the corners have been cleaned and organzed??
Are you still enjoying being home?
Did mention it to mom, of course she wants a 2 bedroom place for all her things..tried to tell her that her things are out of style now and that this generation isn't into what she cherishes
Still waiting to hear if the cottage house inspection passed. Pray, pray please it did and it's one less thing we have to deal with.
can relate to sore muscles ouch/ouch
won't be long you iwll be planting your veggie garden.
doubtfull anything here will get planted till mid June.
Suzanne and Ann were asking about you, said you had a busy schedule so will give them updates next I see them.
Marion, guess Mother's Day will be a difficult day for you as well as Sue, do you HAVE to go south, if she's doing ok could you not prolonge the trip south? I too pass a nursery when going to town, avoiding it, don't need to be planting more i.e. trees seeing as it will mean more leaves to rake..but always fun going in
can you believe here I am typing and my head is nodding, almost ready to hit keyboard..tired today!
Haven't seen Katie for a few days, sure hope she's ok
Dianne, how are things going today?
Mothers day is hard for me, as my Mom passed away day after Mothers day. Hard to believe it has been 8 years!
Sorry to hear it's a hard time for you LindaKay..are the kids coming over this weekend?
Robert found a fabric that he thinks will do nicely, bought 14 yards, 68 yards of piping and thread,
his job is over, mine is just starting lol hoping I don't mess up...
Glad you found a fabric he likes! Yes kids are supposed to be here.
