Drats phone rang at 5am, answered and nobody there..annoying, so up and at it I was.

"M" hope you get your voice back, will be a quiet ousehold until you do. Lol. Nothing worse than a battery you can't depend on. Spaghetti sounds good, guess I will take some out of the freezer and there goes figuring out what to have tonight..good suggestion!

Joyce, bet you made some memories..am sure fun was had by all. Hard time of year to have the gatherings

Yesterday Mel saw on the craft table options re our roadtrip, read both options..ooops think Rita is now up for option 2..guess I will have to go along with them

Working on the 3rd Easter throw this weekend, hopefully by end of day the 3rd will be done..maybe I can meet up with Jeff one ight and give them theirs.Mel will take hers home today.

Big sigh..mom put the cottage up for sale, apparently an offer is coming n today and she doesn't want to sell..shaking my head.

Lyndonville, NY

A quick hello and will go back to read up in a bit.

Bet she got some lovely things..bet you are getting anxious. do they have a name picked out yet? How are you feeling?

Going outside for a bit to see if I can clean up a tad..maybe Mother Nature will see me and decide to melt it.

Dianne, are you getting this sunshine?

Love the cake
you have such gorgeous looking girls Debbie, they look like you!

Well, I personally think you should escape for a bit across the border.

Mom called this afternoon, asked when I was taking her to Buffalo, told her it could be next weekend or the weekend after Easter..think it was more just to gab.

She called this morning wanting to know what I thought of her moving to the cottage, of course the realtor said he might have it sold but now she says it's too soon and likely will move there. It's lovely, all on one floor BUT desolate, she'd have to find a place for the winter and NO, not moving in with me.

Worked a bit outside, off to do so again, back deck cleared, totes in the back shed, cleaned off front deck, might if the wooden set of table/chairs is under back deck set them out in the front as to be able to sit when next the sun decides to shine

Debbie, pick a border and get the heck out of Dodge. Families can be the worst to deal with and sometimes it's best to accept things and move on. It can be very painful but better than hoping for a change that will never come.

As my dental appointment nears I'm dealing with family memories - hairballs, we call them. I think they will subside after I've seen the dentist, just part of my anticipation. I'm remembering something Norman Mailer wrote years ago. He got a lot of negative responses which he felt were people who did not understand what he was saying. He finally wrote, :"All, I was trying to say is: "The sh--s are killing us."

I did get a good nap yesterday afternoon and the fog mostly lifted.

I've been potting up plants this morning. Researching if vetiver might help to clean up the estuary that is down the hill from me. Tony took some of the grass we cut to his parents' cows and reported they really liked it. Maybe I can find a cow person who will trade plants for manure.

Nap time.

hugs, katie

OMG Debbie .. sending you such a gigantic hug ..
Your daughter is beautiful, glowing with her pregnancy . ..
I never showed, wore my first maternity clothes in my 9th month ! Goes with being tall I guess.
NOW ... Murray's wife Alison virtually ignored me through both her pregnancies .. after all, she had a Mom and a sister and a Nana .. my Mom had passed a year before Brooklyn blessed our lives, and, I was devastated .. I wanted to BE someone, be told stuff .. anything .. Murray tried, but, he was working so hard ..
Finally I just told her that I felt left out, AND, it hurt !
Guess who was first to hold Brooklyn after Murray .. ME !!!
Seems my telling her (them) how left out I felt, triggered something ..
I feel once your daughter feels that 'maternal bond' you're the one she'll thinks of.

Well, Lorna has a new battery .. they ran a diagnsotics dealy do with the computer and all was ok.. well .. if we have to CHARGE the dang battery twice a week, things are NOT OK !!
We went with the new battery ...

Picked up the spaghetti and meatballs at the Italian Hall .. good grief .. the container has to weigh 10 pounds !!! LOTS of folks there with their containers .. the meatballs alone are oversized .. it's put on yearly with proceeds to the Cancer Society.

Weather is outstanding, 15C in our backyard in the sun .. just kinda wet !
Muddy pawed dawgies, would imagine Dianne is putting up that as well ^_^

Nice pic Joyce LoL .. hap to tip the laptop !!

Enjoying a white wine, then a shower, and then SPAGHETTI !!!!!!!!!!!!

Betty .. your Mom must just love the cottage, a shame to move it out of the family.

Nice to meet you, Bessie Marie Alice Pauze - are you new? Do you like gardening and crafts..... I do so want to get to know you lol

Hi ladies - not lurking, just haven't been on DG......

It's supposed to be 63F tomorrow afternoon.

Yesterday was a Fabulous and an Annoying day:
Bob had brought home an office desk from work - they were going to toss it out - it's modular.
Size - 10ft long, 31" deep, by 72" high - has a "back" on it and a credenza (6 cupboard doors) - 2 person work station - beautiful wood. wow oh wow.... I'm am "over the moon" with it. Yesterday he brought the pieces in from our deck (been there for 3 weeks, covered with a tarp, under the overhang), and he did most of the assembling. It was sure something, bringing in pieces that long, and/or that wide. east through the porch, continue through the kitchen (shut the door), backup, then north down the hall, then sharp turn west into the den, and sharp turn north fully into the room. phew.
Then, when he was putting it together (and our den is pretty crowded with his desk, and my sewing table) I went into the LR to keep out of his way.... CRASH hear I.... jump up and RUN into the den... he's not hurt, but knocked a bunch of stuff I'd moved off the old desk...... of course I Wrenched my knee jumping up and running, so today I'm in Pain! it's getting better, with drugs LOL

Annoyance - had to take my entire computer system apart, to fit the cables in through the holes in the desktop, and generally clear the tangle (LOL) Well........ no internet, tv, or phone now, cuz it's all through a modem...... panic!! .... our provider won't come here for 24 to 48 hours... no PHONE? no TV? no INTERNET?????? ........ played Freecell..... boring.......
I went to bed at 12:30am... 2am Bob woke me up to say he got internet & tv!! yaaaaaaay "My Hero!!" In the am, I checked the phone, and it must have reset, because we have phone now too LOL

I'm on "pins and needles".... Interviewed april 1st for a job at a church, as a bookkeeper/treasurer.
I will hear sometime this week - he called our Pastor for a reference, so have to imagine he called other references too?!?! One of them said "no, never heard". 3 people were interviewed - I was the 2nd. 1st one didn't have my qualifications, they said. Don't know how 3rd interview went. Our Pastor said they sounded interested...... Oh, and they'd asked me what I was looking for in a wage...... told them "I hate that interview question, and I know interviewers hate it too LOL"
Told them $15 to $25/hr. They said they were looking to pay $25 to $30/hr!! Told them I wouldn't undervalue myself, and I have been paid $26/hr previously......
Well Ladies - we shall see..... there's another company that sells religious books and bibles (new & used) that are looking for a Administrative Manager - they're only 18 blocks from home lol They emailed me today...... asked me to come see their store, and introduce myself - they're open on Tues, so will just have to DO that :-)

Well, that made a Long Story, LONG lol

It's good to hear from you again Susan. I'm glad things are looking up!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hoping hard for one to come through for you Susan.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Going to be a lovely day even though they are calling for rain later..

Sump pump is keeping up, let's hope it continues to do so. Have to go find where I put the rake, the ditching out in front that has the main grate for water is plugged with leaves, clean it up a bit and it should be a problem re flooding.

Barb, your weekend was full of excitement, tell us about it.

LindaKay how about you, any great buys at the fabric shops?

Susan, you did have quite the weekend. So hope the job at the Church materializes..wow, sounds like there will be little walking room around your house, less to clean. Glad Bob got everything up and running.

"M" none of us would be interested in the cottage, Mike and Sharon are moving east of me, Bernie is up in my area..have all had waterfront, beyond that now! Told her I'd take her to Buffalo either this weekend or the 26th, must call her, no can go 26th as it's Paul's 60th birthday supper/gathering.

I had just gone to bed last night and started to doze when Greg came in for a visit, have to teach him to come earlier lol tired this a.m.

Glenview, IL

Thought I would torture y'all in the cold north....
Just kidding. Only want to give you love and sunshine. Smells real nice too. Turn on your imagination. Bougainvilla
Orange blossoms
Grapefruit
I have no picture. As I cannot seem to get the little buggers... but I have blue birds nesting.
Sending hugs with the sunshine

Morning everyone, sounds like you all have been busy!

No fabric here Betty, I was looking for Easter fabric, and very few places had any, and what they did have was not what I was looking for. Too gawdy with the colors!
I am going to San Antonio Friday, so I will hit a few place there. If they don't have any, I will just have to buy baskets for the kids!

Susan, good luck on the interviews, I pray one comes through for you!

The sides of the roads in Austin were covered in blue bonnets!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Judy and Thunder! Bougainvilleas don't bloom till later here, maybe June! Sometimes not till fall.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Those blue bonnets are amazing! Thanks for sharing. How was the car show? DH find anything he couldn't live without?

We're having more rain here today. That's okay with me cause I'm too tired to pop anyway!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Car show was awesome, 1000's of old cars and hot rods! He seriously looked at several of them, but none came home!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

They were gearing up for a weekend car show in Pigeon Forge when we left a on Friday. They come from everywhere and are usually good ones there, too. Bill would love to go to the car show you went to, but there's no way he could travel that far and then walk the show. His health would just not allow it. 😞

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

He can bring a wheel chair. There were quite a few in wheel chairs at this show! It is held the first week end April, if he ever wants to come down for it!

Here is the link for the show!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

WOW, such beauteous pics Thunder and LindaK
The Blue Bonnets remind me of the Lupines that will come to us here in the north in perhaps July, they paint a beautiful landscape fullof amazing colours, transplanting them is a NO NO, they seem to like where they are growing and that's it!

Susan, wonderful to hear from you, and, with hopeful good news re a job .. fingers crossed for you, AND< happy you got your electronics up and running ^_^

Betty, have you retired? I'm never sure if you're posting from home or from the office..
I guess 'camps' (cottages) up this way are kind of coveted, stay in families for decades ..
We have run off here to the max, have the outdoor sump pump all set and ready to go when the water from the snow starts to get scary .. betcha Dianne does the same ..

DH and I had our taxes done this morning .. both getting some $$ back, YAY ..

Think I'm going to get outside and get some fresh air, it has to be about 50F here today ..

We're getting lotso rain! A good day to be inside!

I'm half expecting rain to come in the basement. It's already leaking in the bay window. 😣

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

First Linda teased with the Blue Bells and then T shows the Bouganvilleas, grapefruit and Ooooh the heavenly scent of Orange Blossoms. Siiiiigh!! Our snow is nearly gone, just remains where it was piled from the plow.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

The blue bonnets are simply gorgeous LK> I was there for my son's graduation from SW Texas State and got to see the last of them. So pretty.

Sat was a great day. We drove up to our daughter's for her 38th birthday. The house was so quiet. Scott had taken Sean to a ball game. Sean couldn't play but wanted to support his team. Pulled tendon in his wrist. Brandon was at the barn and Stacy was home doing laundry!!! After being gone all week touring colleges for Brandon, it had piled up and they all had work and school for Monday. But it gave us a chance to just sit and talk with her about all sorts of things without other ears around. I mean things like grad presents and how can we help with college stuff. It was just plain relaxing for all three of us.

Sunday was Sophia's State Gymnastics meet. She did pretty good for her age group and won a medal for second place on the balance beam. The girl knows no fear and just loves it all. The picture that looks like it was posed was a position as part of her floor exercise. I just loved the expression. And of course, with her medal. She really is focused on the program.

Awww that is just so cool Barb. You must be ever so proud.

We are always proud of our grands, it's just so fun to have a little extra to crow about.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

My goodness Barb, what a sweetheart Sophia is, congrats to her on a great weekend ^_^
As well is looks like you had a great time with your daughter too .. those are such precious moments.

Was outside, but, it's so wet, little rivers flowing down onto the sidewalks .. the dogs should be Spaniels LoL
anyway, I'm in, for now
Likely play Scrabble as I have supper all figured out (spaghetti)

What an adorable little gymnast!! Congratulations to her on winning a medal! My daughter did gymnastics when she was little, but never was in any competitions.

Betty, how are Sharon's puppies doing?

Prayers going out to those that need them.

Back to lurking mode...

Deb

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Yes, Sophia is quite a girl. We are all very proud of her. She will be seven in May and all she wants for her birthday is funds for next year's costumes!!!! Her sister, Madison, is a bookworm. She just loves to read. She plays saxophone and is in the chorus at school. She does Destination Imagination and does quite well with it. Sweet stars in our lives that's for sure......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon all,

Busy day, tired today..had a busy weekend.

Just got back from the bank, had the young man in stitches recounting many of the problems I have had over the years about my name

so, 3 more accts/doc's changed, this young lad even let me keep the name 'Betty', before I left he said I was cool lol

Sophia is one talented young lady, cute as a button..am sure you are tired as well seeing as you kept busy all weekend.

Deb, haven't spoken to Sharon since last week, she was saying she hoped the girl would put on weight because she wanted to keep her..asked me if I wanted the mom-6 years old, nope lol
how are your furries doing? Lurking is fine, a little hi now and then is wonderful..feeling better?

Thunder, you are a brat, how envious I am. You just wait, when heat of the summer is on and all that is dry and burnt in your neck of the woods we'll be posting our pretties and saying 'ha,ha,ha'

Judy and Joyce, loved the photo's, bet you have tales to tell

Judy, was there an envelope waiting for you when you got home?

LindaKay, seeing the bluebonnets must take your breath away.

LindaKay, wish I had known, have enough Easter fabric left over to do one more runner or throw, could have sent it your way.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Ahhh Barb, you know Destination Imagination is my group. Three of my grandsons went all the way from grade school in it. Were at Global's every year. That's who I make the T-Shirt quilts for.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

It is a wonderful program Karen. She is getting so much out of it. Those quilts will certainly be heirlooms!!!! My DIL has an aunt who quilts as well and she even does long arm as a business. She will be doing something with all their things that's for sure. She is much younger than I and will be able to follow them along with everything. I concentrate on the grandsons and my two girls in Colorado.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Deb, you don't gave to lurk! Join in!

Oh Betty! Her dogs are so beautiful! Are you sure you don't want a new pal?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No worries on the fabric Betty, I can buy baskets if they don't have it in San Antonio.

Been making Easter wreaths.

Thumbnail by taters55 Thumbnail by taters55
(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

LK my bougies will bloom all year here, when is does not get too cold. have had them all year a few times. and this year my red passion vine bloomed all winter. ^_^ it was so nice to see those gorgeous red flowers when everything else was shriveled up from the cold.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ahhhhhhhh Thunder - beautiful flowers!

Betty - don't think you answered, and I want to know too!! Have you fully retired finally?

tomorrow I head to "Better Books & Bibles" to introduce myself, and hope it lands me this job of Administrative Manager - part time (20 hrs/week).
OR hear from the church and see if I get the Bookkeeper / Treasurer position - would prefer it - more hours and better pay per hour!! Never have I been paid what they're offering for the job, at the top end!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,
Wasn't late when I was in bed last night, good nights rest and am ready to take on the world today.

LindaKay love the wreaths, are they for you and DIL?

Susan, not retired, retarded maybe..just taking more time for me. Good luck today

Thunder, that is the best re living in the south. Hard to think pretties are laying dormant waiting for the melt down. How is Ryleigh, marlena and their mommy, all dong better? Any more thought on moving north..ooooh you will not see flowering plants in the winter though unless they are plastic.

So far this mornimg I've gne out and cleaned the ditch for water flow, put 2 more totes which were in the basement to the back shed, squared Rita's quilt top, started binding on the Easter quilt and not yet 7am. Lol

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Hope you got dressed first Betty and weren't out cleaning out the ditch in your jammies!!!! What a sight that would have been!!
Pounding pouring rain went through here overnight and today is supposed to be a nice one. I hope to get out and walk a bit, even just around the parking lot will do for me. Tomorrow is senior citizens day at Joann's so I want to go get some backing fabrics for one or two of these BOMs.
Love the wreaths LK....
Sending prayers Susan.....
I'm a bit jealous about flowers all year Thunder. Mine are in a pot by the window. Little miniature daffodils!!!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Busy days here, and, I have a HEAD COLD !!
Blowing my nose, slight cough, stuffed up .. the whole 9 yards .. might have picked it up when I went with DH to an Opthamologists appt last week .. doesn't really matter, have to gather up some energy from somewhere as i have places to go to and things to do ..

Take care everyone
