Omg Lindakay, got a book in the mail re Austin Texas, girls love country music and I hear it's the next Nashville..looked through the pages...do ou know Austin well? Nis your trip for the car show?

Yes, with all going on mom was overwhelmed at losing her mom's finest.

Those bunnies are just so adorable, am sure they will be appreciative and loved.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, there are so many places to go for music in Austin. All kinds of music! Congress is a popular place, as well as 6th, through 8th street, but not limited to those places! You would really like Austin. "Keep Austin Weird" is their motto!

M My Carrie has made that pizza and it is VERY VERY good!!!

We have sunshine here today and I went out and filled bird feeders with no jacket, and not falling. Really enjoyed that 10 minutes in the sunlight.

Yes, Carrie is having a theme and colors for shower and nursery. A darker blue and lime green coloring with little alligators and jungle animals here and there. But the gators are front and center. lol I will post a picture of invites for you and what I have for her to start.

Prayers for your nephew and family. Not good.

Will be back later, Izzy needs out again.

Morning, gee whizz, already afternoon..where has the time gone?
Sharon's birthday so sat and sent her an e-mail
Worked on the trip details..option 1 and option 2 for most of the morning and now quilting an Easter throw (change in plans, was to have been 3 table runners ) lol but tme is short so decided a couch throw would be pretty seeing as I can't get into back shed for snow for Easter decorations..needed something out so a throw it is.

"M" you asked about the vacation..it is not until end of July, however if we want to get tickets to guarantee us doing all we want and hotels they must be booked now, leaving it and trying to get 4. Of anything is impossible so plan I am.

Hoping Susanne asks Paul tomorrow for the week that includes a stat holiday..linda and Rita are checking with their employers before we pick where we will go..takes a lot of planning so that everything runs smoothly for 10 days

Nice weather here as well, close to 50' overcast but not snowing so that is a plus..warmer temps tomorrow

Great news re Lorna, sure hope it's something minor.bet you and she are worried.
Will check the links LindaKay

With a little help from my pushy friends here I went to the clinic today to make a dental appointment. It is their first day open and they are making appointment. I got there at 10, they had been open an hour and were very busy. I have an appointment for April 9 at noon. Don't know how long I'd be waiting if I hadn't gone in til tomorrow.

We also got sopping done and I saw several friends which is always very nice. Neighbor Barbara may come visit later this afternoon. I have a ton of little parsley plants so everyone in the neighbor gets to grow parsley this year.

Lots of work to do while I have some energy so I'll be back later.

hugs katie

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Finally some sun!!!!!! I actually went out and drove around just for the fun of it!!! First time I have driven since November!!!
So sorry to hear you and hubby are so sick Karen. Sending gentle hugs that it won't last long.
Saying prayers for Lorna as well. Sure hope the doctor can help her quickly.
Either trip sounds like a lot of fun Betty. Know what you mean though about making plans.
Just had a bite to eat so it's is off to the fabrics to pick some for the next BOM block

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Y A H O O !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
^_^
Blood work done, and .. good (for Lorna anyway)
Prosthetist seen, he has never seen this kind of bruising .. he took the pics I sent him in to a doc with the Amputee clinic yesterday .. she had some good impressions on why it occurred, and, bottom line .. Lorna is/was far to active, and, the new socket hit her hip at the wrong angle and pressure .. with her being on warfarin, any type of contusion (blunt smack) can cause a HUGE horrifying looking bruise. Kerry is so well informed, but this was new to him, and, as he and I and Lorna have become so close over 4 years .. he made sure anything he told her was well thought out .. in the end, she can wear the leg during the day .. take it off after supper .. we'll be vigilant .. just happy we are traversing this hill with a bit more ease than the others we have had to struggle up ..

Betty .. the trip sounds DOUBLE ACES .. whichever one, and the success of any trip is in the PRE planning .. and you are doing an amazing job, as always ^_^

WEATHER .. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, what a HORRID April Fools Joke here .. freezing rain, and snow, and ice !!!
Do not know WHEN the city decides to PLOUGH the stuff!! We stopped to help 3 folks who had slid off the road, none serious .. but, seems Lorna's do hickey (ball thing on the back of the truck) was not the right size.
All in all a NASTY day !!

Best get a boogie on .. Gord's ribs await :-)

Evening all,

Just settling in, did some hand sewing on the binding, Rita has homemade chicken pot pie, corn a d scallop potatoes, mouth watering at the smell then hopefully I can make it to 8pm for the new NCIS New Orleans pt 2

Oh Katie, so glad you got the appointment, h my, April 9th? That is quite a wait when you have an aching tooth..better to have the appointment then to not. Did Barbara come for a visit?

Karen, that flu takes everything out of you, one has it then passes it on then likely back to you..feel bad for you, kow you wanted to be in Tennessee..wish I was closer, could make you homemade soup so guess I can just send 'get well soon's,

Barb, it's like being released from prison isn't it..just out and about is wonderful..good for you, may there be many more outings..calling for mid 50's tomorrow but it's raking right now, will be a mess if it freezes.

Dianne, did you and pups get out to play.

Marion, how was your and Sue's day today?

Just spoke to Sharon, she has 3 new puppies, little girl not doing so well so she was to go out for birthday dinner but decided she had a hard day and would just stay home.

Called mom, she was gone to seniors, that is good..called uncle Alan who has been home from the hospital , can still hear the cold when he talks, told him I'd drop n on Friday.

Ohhh happy days, you know my issue with my name, MPP office called, the have my marriage certificate so here is hoping Friday I can change more of my I.d. To the same..I'd be so p,eased if I could.

Rita's calling, din/din ready

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

wow - got as far as the post about "Paul Fleischman" book, and no further...
Good Grief, are you ladies tuned into me, Or What? I just found the book yesterday - it was in my sewing stuff, which I haven't touched in ......like.... forever! "Mind's Eye" is the book, and who am I to send it to? Dianne?

you ladies scare me sometimes, with your uncanny ability to "think through" to where I am and what I'm doing...... are you watching me on WebCam?? lol

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Could be wabbit, could be!!!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
Glad to hear your paper work is going good for you Betty!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

One never knows Susan..lol
What have you been up to?

LindaKay, Friday I go to change drivers permit, change ownership of vehicle then call the bank and see what else I need to get my name on all my records then I'm ME again, not sure if that is a good thing or not.

Watched NCIS last night, makes me want to vote for option 2. (grinning) for our roadtrip 2014.
Even stayed up for NCIS Los angeles, been a long time since I've gone to bed past 10pm.
Managed to hand see the Easter throw binding, today I will see if I can finish the embroidery pattern on the piece and set it out, hmmm, maybe going out and buying an Easter plant for the living room table might make me feel like its really spring !

Overcast this a.m. But they are calling for sunshine at some point then rain Friday and as Tueday..guess it will s sew sew weekend.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Here too Betty. It is overcast right now but expecting the sun.
Watching the funeral service for one of the Boston Firefighters killed last week. I'm not sure if I had ever told you, but my Dad was a firefighter and the feeling of being a part of that family never leaves one. My Dad died 52 years ago and it is like yesterday.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, what will your legal name be when all the paper work is done?

Barb, so sad about those firefighters! Such a tragic loss!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

They estimate that there must be close to 10,000 - yes, ten thousand - firefighters outside the church. What a sight to see.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm often amazed after having loss Roger and someone asks how many years ago, I say "23" and they can't believe you can still feel the hurt and remember the play by play of what took place so yes, know you are hurting..firefighters like police are a family unto their own.

Think I took Kyle by surprise yesterday, we were walking in a mall going for lunch, elderly couple head of us holding hands..said you know what hurts me the most Kyle? It's watching couples walk hand in hand and never having the chance to do it!

Did I tell you Noah got his drivers permit, so glad things are changing for him

With Gordon being a fire fighter paramedic, I find it kind of difficult to even read of those deaths.
Several years ago, his platoon went to a fire, and one of the guys was blown off the roof, he succumbed to his injuries a week after ..
Remember the day like it was yesterday ..

Want to stay and chat, but, have been on the go since 7M and am still going, likely til 7pm

mulege, Mexico

I don't think Barbara came over but I'm not sure cause I fell sound asleep for several hours. Also slept a lot last night. Trying to get some clean up done today. Laundry and dishes are washed. Time to tackle some of the dirt and maybe play in the garden a bit.

Tooth is a dull pain; more something that keeps me aware that it needs to be taken care of than throbbing, which I would have a lot of trouble with.

Weather is heating up here while many of you are getting more snow!! Wish we could trade for some of the heat that we'll have in a month or so.

Getting my new-to-me car in shape. Tony is buying a new battery today. I need to get friend Polo to do a tune-up. Dana found an ad for a place that may be able to get me an American registration by phone. I can't drive it with Mexican plates.

I made some sweet potato pudding and it's really good. Catching up on other cooking projects I've started. Like chai tea with fresh ginger.

Big hugs all around, katie

Verona, ON

Susan, Mary would like her book back. I know she really treasures them. I know one of her hopes was that everyone who read the book would sign their name in it. Check to see if there are other names there. That's a wonderful idea. I always write in the front of my books when I lend them "This is a book belongs to Dianne and her friends ".

Katie, sweet potato pudding sounds wonderful. I have never had it. Actually I had never tasted a sweet potato untiI I was in my teens and at a boy friend's house. One taste and I was hooked.

How is your DN doing Betty? Great that your MP was able to get your marriage certificate. I know I have my original one in this house somewhere - stored somewhere where I wouldn't forget where it was - lol. But when we were making sure everything was organized in the months before Warren died I could not find it. I was able to order mine online.

Is this the weekend for the car show LK? Nice getaway for you and Todd.

Started a new novel this morning titled War Brides. I can't put it down it is so good.

Very cold but sunny. Still hat and gloves weather when you go outside.

Barb I am so excited for you to be able to get out and drive. I understand what you mean - it's quite liberating isn't it?

Need to get going and accomplish something this afternoon.

Dianne

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, this is the week end for the car show. We leave Friday morning!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I am in need of the prayer warriors !
Granddaughter Ryleigh has a very rare bacterial infection in her system causing diarrhea, and stomach/intestinal pain. Can cause very serious colon damage if not stopped quickly. Antibiotics do not work !! She has been put on a very strict diet. And some medications to help alleviate pain and some to help with diarrhea. She is home for now.
Thanks in advance.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy Thunder, that is not good news about Ryliegh, poor thing..prayers coming her way! Just what her mamma needs right now.Am sue you are a basket case. Do they live far from the hospital?

Katie, yahhoo on the new whelels..if your neighbor can't help does it mean a trip to California? Bet you've missed having your own transportation.could you share the sweet potatoe pudding?
If only it were that easy to send nice weather.

Dianne, Jason was bleeding internally, more tests today. Bernie was going to Jason's for a few days to build a ramp for the wheelchair as it will be a must when Jason is released.
Did you get the sunshine day we got here? Just itching for snow to leave so I can be on yard duty, bet the same for you. Wow, drive as frost comes out makes for one muddy yard.
Feel like floors should be done every hour on the hour with kitties our and in, your place must be the same.

LindaKay, you get to go to fabric shops this weekend while hubby is doing car show, both will be fun

Spoke to mom a bit ago, she was just getting back fron walk n clinic..her negs were swollen and blue..guess the nurse told her to go home, go to bed and raise her legs then make appt with her doctor

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Thunder prayers by the bucket full coming Ryleigh's way .. not a nice thing to have, is it like C Difficile ??

So happy to hear the book was found and is back on it's journedy, I should have asked for it, am sure willing to share mine by Kate Morton ^_^

Picked up the kids from their schools and took them for dinner to give Mom a break ..
Alison (DDinL) is on a strict weight loss regimen, shakes only as ordered through the bariatric clinc here .. she's lost 22 pounds in a month !!!
While at supper asked DGS Austin what he wants for his BDay next week .. he'd like a TURTLE!!
Murray and Alison will have to discuss that one ..

MMMMMMMmmmm sweet potatoes .. delish fer sure, never heard of sweet potato pudding though ..
Hope your tooth is kind to you until your appt Katie ..

LindaK enjoy the car show ^_^

Best get ready for CORRIE

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

yes Marilynne, I think that is what she called it. can you tell me anything about it??

Lyndonville, NY

Thunder, big big hugs....is it Diff C?? that she has? Prayers for little one!!!

Betty, you have a email with pictures.

Busy as anything here....reading when I can and trying to catch up.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

So sorry, Thunder! Sherry's mom has c diff. It's hard on a 90 year old but I'm sure it's terrible on a wee little one. 😥

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Yes c.diff
She is only 10 months old.
I guess it is very rare in a child. More common for seniors to get.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

C Diff is CLOSTRIDIUM Difficile .. it's a bacteria, seldom seen in a youngster .. unless she is a carrier of it ..
She'll be treated with caution, it is catchable .. the big concern is the fact that it can form inflammed patches inside the bowel ..
Poor wee thing .. but, her youth will be her ally.
Big hugs ....

If a child has a compromised immune system....they can get it again and again. Yes, very much contagious!!! My DD had it while on chemo when she was 4 years old.

Poor baby

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thunder. Dylan had that last year. He was in the hospital for about a week getting I V fluids and treatment. It is very contagious.
