Betty I was just watching CITY news and it looked awful for traveling this am. Waaay too soon, right?

Well it is absolute bedlam in my house tonight and I swear I am going to run away. Duke has returned home from the vet after being neutered today. Keeping him quiet and still is proving to be quite a challenge. He absolutely hates his crate and whines at the top of his lungs when he is in it. If I let him out he and Diesel want to play. So much for the idea that the vet thinks he would be quiet tonight because of the anesthetic .Oh I am in for a long 10 - 14 days. M are you sure you want to add a third? Going to bed tonight with headphones and the CD player turned up. Good thing I don't live near anyone as they would think by Duke's noise he is being abused.

We'll pick the names on the weekend and I will get in touch with each of you by Dmail by the end of the day Monday.

As for weather this a.m. It was indeed a challenge..snow plow was out this morning, much too soon to have bad weather..poor Duke, must be hurting like crazy..hope Diesel understands his not wanting to play.

Got heck this morning before leaving..was up early, got floors done, furniture dusted, Rita got up and said I hadn't left anything for her to do. lol

Joyce, you just never know, wouldn't spend a few days but might spend a night..Rita would like to drive to Nashville to see Gaylord Hotel all done up in Christmas' best.
As for travelling, might be able to stop and just say 'hi' tomorrow, in and right out..don't stay in for me though.

When I settle in this morning I'll go look at the map and get an idea where I'm going to try and make it to tonight..

Piper had to wear a CONE when he had his 'fix' .. came into the house and DOVE under the bed and got STUCK !! Poor Gord had to extricate him and we had to block all three beds in the house !

PS Piper in his cone !! He was SO not happy .. I cried (what a wuss)

Duke spent a good night last night in his crate I got him up about 2 and then 5 ish to go outside.Once the crate was in the BR he settled down fairly well. No cone yet - have to watch for him licking the incision sight. Diesel is not too happy being deprived of his rock and roll buddy. I have to walk them separately which makes for a long walk for me but on the other hand I enjoy it.Duke started his pain med by mouth this morning but he doesn't seem to be in pain. He is a wily dude so I don't imagine this will hold him back.

Started the woodstove yesterday. Now I won't let it go out until Spring. House feels nice and cozy warm now but not too hot. I often have the windows wide open all winter just to keep the temp down.I checked the level of the oil tank yesterday and was shocked to see it at a titch above empty. Quickly called my suppler. It hasn't been filled in 7 mon so I guess it was time. The infloor heat that is oil fed in the downstairs is wonderful in the winter.

Anyone other than Betty have big plans for the weekend?

Need some breakfast, the banana at 6 am is long gone!

We have Jeanna's birthday Sunday. Can't believe my daughter is going to be 30!!! Her DH

"M" the vets here don't use cones anymore. They say they use internal stitches, so no worries if the dogs lick the wound!

We were going to take them into the pet store for a TREAT shop, but, saw a Rottweiler (owner in tow) going in, and thought, NO !! Westies and Rotties do NOT a good mix make !!

Hanging in til I HAVE to take 'the drug' .. then it'll be bed and sleep so as not to have to put up with the nausea it causes ..

Yes, the co-joining of katie and I is the same as last year. because of her mail service being so bad, she's having me "send", and will pay for it, so she is to get the gifts!!

M my Rottie Diesel would love your pups. He and the cats are priceless together especially my female Sassy.

Woodstove on makes the house nice and cozy. Bitter wind coming across the lake and hitting the west side of the house.

Trying to keep Duke quiet today was an exercise in futility.I'm exhausted trying to keep up with him. Just have to hope the stitches don't pop. He hates his crate and whines very loudly when I put him in it to calm down. Headphones day all day today!

Dianne, our neighbour to the far east of us has a Rottie, and, sad to say, he is not a nice one .. HATES our Westies ..
I have met him up front and personal, no prob, but, when he sees the 2 'white objects' with me, he (and they) get a bit rangy .. so, I played it on the side of caution, didn't want to be on the front page of the paper saying I had cause the Wreck at PetSmart LoL.
Duke will weather the storm of the missing peanuts .. you are to be commended for ensuring his procreational prowess is gone !!

All 3 furries are parked in front of the woodstove soaking up the heat, just took my poison pills, and, I am off to watch a movie ..

Barb, I cut an old sweatshirt of mine down the center so she has a jacket. lol I will get velcro and put it on for her so I can strap it around her waist. She is so itch still. But not as red. She looks so frail to me.

We HAD oil (fuel oil) at one time, but HAD to switch to natural gas .. some oil tanks in the region had leaked (not all at once) and it caused quite an environmental stir. So, as our tank was older, we decided to go for gas .. your heated floor sounds wunderbar .. Lilly and Smokey would be so happy with that !! Little Piper likes to stay cool ..
Am 'planning' on making that Turkey Pie this coming week ..

Waiting on dH to bring home some farm eggs so I can make a Banana Loaf, my 'frozen banana ranch' is getting pretty full !!!

Great news! I was able to bring Kahakaha the kitty home from the hospital on Friday. She was in there for a full week after having been missing for over 7 weeks. She's doing remarkably well and seems to be enjoying being home. Between starting a new job last week, and getting back and forth to visiting hours at the hospital, I've been very out-of-touch. Now the hubs and I are both down with the flu, so plenty of time to watch the kitty recuperate and catch up on all of the discussion boards.

times especially when he asked Grandti are you going home? I told yes cause i have to go to work. He didnt want us to go far far away. But I said we could talk on the phone. Roflol he said that works for me! I ME TOO. He gave us a giant armwrap andkiss before running off with his birthday present...a very cool remote car. He likes to draw and I have many pictures
including a self portrait. What an incredible visit and Ii will cherish our time until I get to see him again.

That gives me hope on Izzy. She has been missing 4 weeks. And I adopted a 4 month old kitty from the Animal Foundation. She was spayed the day before we picked her up. We brought her home on Sunday and she died on Monday, So right now I am feeling real sad but nothing compared to what is going on in the world.

Our weather has been beautiful. Tomorrow we will be 84. Monday 62 with high winds.

I have been working with two garden helpers for 9 days getting the front landscape reconfigured. Not done but my body is done.

Then 22 year old granddaughter found out her Christian boyfriend was not so Christian. She is heart broken so I have been talking with her but mostly listening.

I am so sorry to be so far behind in your lives but hope to catch up. Hugs, Sharon in Las Vegas.....
