I hope things work out, and we can pull this off

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kathy. We will be saying lots of prayers for you!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Kathy glad you got through those tests! Prayers for you with Kaden too!!

Jaye you have a gorgeous family! Thank you for sharing those pics. Funny about the wine, I miss Northern CA wine and I miss being close to it. I'm no wine connoisseour either but it was fun to go play around for awhile. Actually talked an employee of Krug to open a $35.00 bottle of Reserve Merlot, OMG that one taste was the best taste I have ever had.

WOOOHOOOOOOO SUSAN!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I got so drunk at the Krug winery!!!! 40 years ago, I went to visit my brother who lived in Napa, CA at the time. My Mom and stepdad were there at the same time. My brother took us for a tour of the wineries in the area. Well, of course, they all had a tasting room! My stepdad did not like white wine and I'm not fond of the reds so we switched at each place we went to. He drank my reds and I drank his whites. By the time we hit Krug, I was well on the way to being sloshed and Krug put me over the edge. I must admit, I liked their wine the best of all I had tasted. All this between 9 AM and noon!!!!!!

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

:-o That can happen. Oh yes, it can.

I'm having chocolate for breakfast - Ritter dark chocolate with hazelnuts bar. Yum. No wine though. ;)

Happy Sunday, all.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

so, wez has a wino amongst us? lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

We h ave a small winery here, and some of their wines are good, others are not too good!
I prefer white wines, I like Kendall Jackson, and yellow tail chardonnay and Bartenura Moscato.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

There are many wineries here in the Grand Traverse area of MI. In many cases wine is taking over the growing of cherries. It is said our climate matches the wine regions of France.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

We have a small winery here too but I much, much, much prefer the California wines. And the California olive oils as well. :)

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Noticing as we travel there are more wineries all the time in the Cumberland area.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Karen, how are you feeling today?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Better Linda, thanks for asking, this sure kicked my butt.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

hi ladies

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

sorry to hear your down

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Happy Sunday everyone. Just got back from a jaunt with my youngest granddaughter. I wanted to go to Hobby Lobby but they are closed on Sunday, so we went to Michael's, didn't find anything exciting there, so went to Christmas Tree Shoppe. We did pretty good there. Got some tablecloths for a picnic with garden club next month, some paper plates and a gift to give to a girlfriend. Well, actually the gift isn't from me, it's from Bertie my neighbor, but she said she hates to buy for this girl cause she has everything. I said I never have trouble buying for her, she's so easy, so I volunteered to get the present. I already had mine for her.

Finally found some unsalted peanuts for the blue jays. They've had an empty feeder for two days now and they're not happy with me. I tried to get them at Meijers and then at Walmart and neither one of them had unsalted. I like to get them raw ones, but the roasted and unsalted will have to do this time.

Sure would like a little rest before I have to start thinking about supper. Sigh...
Not sure if son and DGDs will be here or not. That could make a BIG difference!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I typed at least 10000 words and my cat in one split second erased them all!!!!

Oh my.. all the winos here!! I'm not in bad company then!! Lolol!!
Sis Kathy, you might have to get started on Morgan David! My late MIL swore by it every night. She never had any heart issues.

Cookie, you're right, my birthday has passed. I was saying that normally I'd decanter a bottle on the day, but I decided to do it another night. That's when I found the cooler not working.
The wine you served on my last night.. a Merlot I think.. was good!

Karen, drink more wine.. it will boost your health according to the French and Mediterraneans.. and the Greeks too.

Not you Barb!!! Chrissy, I can believe she's capable of 'celebrating', but you!! That must be the most memorable wine tasting you must ever had, if you remember all that you've drunk!

Carole, I wish there's a way my sister can send me a barrel of first pressed olive oil from Tuscany! I'll certainly share that gold with you.
And yes to Ca. wines, now that the French wine has higher tariffs. Besides the Cabernets, I'm a glutton for Louis Jardot Pouilly Fuisse. Can't help naming the youngest rescue Bebe Louis!

LK, I love some whites. But since I forced myself to go on a wine diet, I stick to reds. Biblically.. Jesus made wine. Wine is wine.. and if it's grape juice. it would say so. (in case some wonder what this Christian girl is doing)
Drunk in moderation.

When I was 20 going 90, I thought I knew it all! I'd only drink Mateus Rose as I love the bottle shape. At every fancy restaurant, I'll wait for the sommelier to do his rituals, and I would oblige by swirling the glass.. sniff and sip..
Then one eveningh I realize that ALL Mateus taste the same!! DUUUH.. I might as well ask the sommelier to do a fancy presentation on Coca Cola!!
Told my date to get me the most expensive bottle on the list. Poor soul obliged, and it was a Dom Perignon. Mercifully it was only $50 then (in Singapore, booze is cheap).
Don't feel bad for him.. I married him a year later!!

Didn't drink my TL 1997 yesterday. Was recovering from a headache.
Here are some bottles waiting in the fridge..
1997 Gallo Sonoma.. 1996 Turning Leaf... 1998 Turning Leaf.
I regret not getting a case of the 1997 TL. It was an exceptionally good year for the Napa Valley.

Okay.. talk about multi tasking.. while doing this.. I just answered the phone and donated $ to the Children Cancer Fund. Wine always makes me feel good!! Lolol!

Cross posted Cookie! Thank you for feeding my relatives-- The Blue Jays!

Marion, if you're lurking.. more hugs from us.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Absolutely, more hugs and arm wraps...

I was looking at Jaye Blue (my beautiful butterfly koi that Jaye gave me) yesterday. It hasn't grown a lot, but it is surely beautiful. It's a light blue, but you can definately tell it is blue!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I must tell you all that after the wine tastings in CA I have had maybe 4-5 glasses since. I switched to Kahlua and I'm much happier!!!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hi Ladies,
Not much going on here. Did go to the 3 annual August bday bash yesterday. had a blast, it gets better every year!!!

A good pix of us before we got pie eyed, lol.

Yup, Wineries are the thing in CA. There are several in my home town. More and more people are growing their own these days. I have a friend who makes wine but OMG!!! it is awful, lol That's sad to say but he is not a wine maker. So instead of drinking it I use it for cooking, replaces water.........

Hey Cindy, looks like you are both having a good time! Love the picture!

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

lol, Cindy. Some of that homemade stuff is really really awful, isn't it! My brother in Colorado was making beer, but I think he may have gotten tired of that.

I do enjoy the CA olive oil too. Italy has their really good EVOO but it isn't what they usually export for general consumption here. I know the good Italian stuff is very, very good, Jaye. And, oh so expensive here.

lol. Mateus ... brings back memories of college days. So does Mogen David. Ah, youth. :)

Kahlua is good stuff, Barb. I'm a fan of Disaronno and some of the flavored brandies and good vodkas. And, of course, this is Bourbon country where Jack Daniels is king. It does make a mean BBQ sauce! :-)

I try to have a little red wine every day but drink the other only occasionally. Right now, it's a cup of coffee. :D

I can't say I did much yesterday but I did watch the finale of Next Food Network Star. Once I started with the programs, I had to see it through to the end. That Damaris is a character and should be most entertaining. A Kentucky girl from not too far north of me.

Nice chat on this thread. Ya'll have a good week.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

DID YOU WATCH CUT THROAT KITCHEN? IT PREMIERED LAST NITE.

JAYE, CALL ME

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

No, I went to sleep after the finale of NFNS. What did you think of Cutthroat Kitchen?
