muffin chewed his fav. toy apart. had to throw it away when he wasn't looking. now he's trying to kill his pig
**Sweet Interruptions** Room 264
A mighty hunter at work!
LOL, the toy muffin killed was a squirrel, his favorite besides a plastic bowl. he loves to play with bowels
Crissy's back!!!!
Another piece of good news this morning! Visited the swap thread and barely wiped happy tears off my face seeing Julie (FroggiesGirl) has returned.... and I'm booohooing all over again!!
Call me silly Crissy. You are so missed!! I miss your wits, your biting sarcasms, your penchant for laughter!! Bad Dave took that away from us.
Tried to follow you of FB, but you didn't share much personal stuffs.. except for games! Lol!! Guess you do have to take a break from all that insanity!!
Congrats on your new life without Dave. It's always been you that had kept the finances afloat. He made his own muck.
Good that you sold that house. Leave every trace of him and you'd get nothing but sunshine in your life!! Too bad you had to leave Tigger behind.. but you'd have the memories.
When you're ready for more plants, post your list here, and maybe some of us like Carole here, can help you.
Dancing in my chair here that you're back Crissy!!!
Sorry for rambling on.. but I have missed you gal!
Carole, your heart won't allow you to ignore the cats that need you. Much love for your kindness..
Love those pictures, and cats are amazing. Like kids, they'd rule you if you let them. All three will have its' own personality.
Do they sleep with you, that's why you're up early? Don't let them get use to coffee!!
Lanakila has one rescue, and here you are with 3!
I think Marion just adopted another. That makes 4 maybe!
We have 9 in the house now... more outside. Can you say "hoarder"?
Pegi and Sis Kathy. Maybe Mandy and Muffin need to go to an obedience school!! Lol!! But pups act that way. I'm lucky mine stick to their toys.
Poor cat must be scared locked up in the van. Darwin will make sure now to check on the doors.
Ouch on those scratches!
Sue, do whatever's necessary to chase the blues away.
Good luck at the fair and hope you get lots of blue ribbons! We'll be crossing our fingers gal!
How's the packing going on, Barb? That will bring on some stress if pressed for time.. which you're not... thank God.
Wish we could help you Barb.
Nothing much to say on what I did last night. Watched some tv.. read a cookbook before kissing the pillow.
Thanking the Lord this morning that I didn't have to water the plants. That means too, time for some sewing. Trying to finish a swap box!! Yes, I tend to go overboard but don't we all love surprises?
Have a wonderful day sistahs!
Carole... Cookie is JoyceT.
Here's something else for you to know. This group here try to meet somewhere each year. Sistahs Annual Gathering we call it!
2008 was held at Jordankittyjo (Kathy)
2009 was held at BJWilson (BJ)
2010 -- JoyceT (Cookie)
2011--Seedtosser (Judy)
2012--Bettypauze (Betty)
2013--taking a break (save some $$$ for next year)
2014-SueTaynor (plans may be changed)
2015- renting a cabin somewhere in the mountains (so start saving)
Kathy, you need to get some rubber toys for muffin! Our dog Luna would go through a stuffed toy a day, sometimes 2 or 3. Then we got her this soft rubber chicken that squeaks when she bites it, and she has had it for months!
Morning everyone! been busy watering the garden, filling the hummer feeders, and mopping floors since I got up. Still need to do the dusting, but that will wait till later!
LK!! This is the day for transplanting according to Farmers Almanac.
Kel just transplanted bulbs and a tree for me.
God never instruct His children to keep housework at the top of our list. A wise Lord we have!!
I'll second that, Jaye. So nice you get together. And renting a cabin sounds like a lot of fun.
LK, is there a photo of Luna somewhere? Or is he camera-shy? :)
Aw, that is one beautiful dog, LK. I've always liked German Shepherds.
Jaye, only one cat sleeps with us. The rest are elsewhere, sometimes inside and sometimes outside. The one that sleeps with us always wakes me up early. He likes to be rubbed when he gets up. lol. I usually fall asleep early so I'm pretty good on sleep unless he doesn't sleep his usual 8 or 9 hours. I don't get as much as he does though. Go figure. I maybe get 6, sometimes 7 or 8. I'm okay with those amounts. Anything less (which sometimes happens) and I'm cranky as all get-out.
Thank you! He sure is a cuddle dog, he even tries to be a lap dog sometimes!
Ain't Luna adorable??? GS are smart dogs! LK, Kel wasn't a cat person until he's forced to live with Rimau! Since then, he can't stop rescuing kitties :(
Rimau's gone, but so many have its' characteristics! Like offering their heads to him, to be petted or reaching out for hugs.
What's for lunch ladies?
It's Chinese for us today. Got to reward Kel. (Actually it's self serving too as I don't have to cook)
Luckily, there's this Chinese restaurant not too far from town that serves awesome real Cantonese food! A bonus too when the owner brings out more home made dumplings just for Kel. I went crazy for their fresh sauteed veges and catfish.
Carole, Sis Kathy said it might be Tennessee in 2015. Hopefully you'll be able to make it.
Sad though that we do have two sistahs on the West Coast, Samigal (Pegi)and Purpbutfly (Cindy) and everywhere if not Ca. is too far for them. Would be wishful thinking, before the decade's over, we'll have it in Las Vegas!! Yah.. one of got to win the lottery!
None sleeps with us. now. Only Forrest had that chance. He came to us with a broken paw and a badly injured shoulder. Vet didn't give him a chance at survival as he was sickly too.
He is right now sharing the guest bedroom with Kel's youngest!
We'll wait till Forrest is able to at least jump before we let him join the rest.
Forrest scared the dickens out of Kel one morning when it sat on his tummy and started kissing him! He'd never been woken up by a cat. So he has been banished to the guest bedroom!!
This is Forrest, the ginger and Bebe Louie.

Enjoy your lunch Jaye!
Forrest is so pretty!
Vegas would be a nice place for the gathering Jaye! I just checked our numbers for last night... No matching numbers! :(
I LOVE THE DOG, ALWAYS LOVED SHEPARDS
We're not giving up LK. Got my lucky numbers from the fortune cookies. If you get a call from me... that means.. pack your bags!!
I'm giving all the rights to call me a fool!
I was out there pulling weeds from another patch, and the rains started to fall. Did I go back into the house? No!! Drenched from head to toe and I'm glad I did it! Worked off the buffet too!
Found my tropical giant clivia which took FIVE years to put out buds! Mind you, when I first got the bulb from a co-op here, it's triple the size of a regular clivia bulb.
I'm so happy!!! I had thought it died on me when it didn't come back up the second year. It was only feeding itself.
The stalks are taller than me. Actually anything can be taller than a 5 ft. Asian!! Lol!!
I think it's finally happy as I had trimmed the forsythia down right after it blooms. Getting more sun I think and still enjoying the shade.. or could be the rains. Will now have to wait for the flowers to open fully.
Then I notice too, a 3 year old, ole time belladonna finally blooming. Yes gardening requires a ton of patience!!
Wanted so bad to do more transplanting. Got 2 more potted clematis, and the Lord says.. not today... He gave enough time this morning!! Kel's laughing away..
This message was edited Aug 1, 2013 3:05 PM
good kel. now say go bama like he tought you
Ain't gonna!! :P
Oops. Well, I'm a basketball fan.
Tennessee would be a good place for a get-together. lol. I'm not too far from Nashville. I imagine Betty would prefer Memphis though.
I was on the West Coast for decades. Even though I wasn't born in CA, we were there so long that I consider it my home. We've been in TN since 2009.
Vegas? My BIL lives just south of there in Hendersonville. I suppose they wouldn't want to give us a key to their house. Prolly not. :/
I think the most cats we had at one time is 5 ... along with a dog (or maybe two). Seems there's lots of hoarders here. ♥♥♥
Jaye, what is a clivia plant? Guess I need to go and Google it?
My BFF lives in Lebanon, Carole. Whenever I make that trip to spend a week with her, I'll be certain to give you a call.
Okay LK. I said clivia huh? It's actually CRINUM.. sorry.. brain freeze!!
The rains have stopped and we brave the mosquitoes just for you.
The giant crinum, almost as tall as the forsythia. Kel took the pic of the close up.
Then there's the common light pink Bella Donna crinum. She's a pixie flower for sure!
Jaye, those are beautiful!
LK, I was told that crinums don't like to be moved. Kel said he finally found a flower face to face!! Lol!!
I'm doing a quilty craft project and want all of the materials to be recycled. I'm looking specifically for dark brown, tan, cream, or white in corduroy, brushed cotton, denim, flannel, or wool. If any of you have old clothes that might work, I'll be happy to pay postage!
I'm sure I can find some denim... I'll look through my stash.
Oh WOW Jaye I didn't think I was THAT missed!! Holy Cow thank you!!!! You are right about Dave, he made his own and now he has to live in it and I hear it constantly. It's a sad sad situation. Yeah I had to leave Tiga's grave behind but I didn't want her buried anyway, I wanted the vet to take care of her, that's what I've always done with my animals in the past so I don't have this problem. I will build a memorial garden for her just like I wanted to do at the other house. It's all ok, she completely understands and is ok with it. Joel said we can get another kitty when I get the house. I almost took the headstone with me but decided that needed to stay with her.
Thank you for the iris offer Carole, you know I'll take some! Let me know what they are, I'll choose and you can tell me what I owe you!
It is good to be back! Thank you Barb!! I have been thinking about you so much and I'm glad to hear you and Norm are doing good!
Kathy love the dog! German Shepherds are gorgeous and very good dogs!
I'll dmail you, Crissy. :)
And I'll see if I can find anything to send you, lanakila. Seems like I could come up with something.
I'll look as much as I can. So much of my fabrics are already packed for the move but I'll check what is still here...
I MIGHT COULD FIND SOME DENIMS
Barb, where are you moving?
Morning everyone! What are you all up too? Yesterday we hit 104 degree's, and it is supposed to be the same today! Someone send the rain this way please?
Marion are you home yet? How is Sis and Mom doing? If we have denim, can it be bleached to become white? White denim is hard to come by!
I've had quite a bit of difficulty finding the fabrics I need at the thrift stores. Winter clothes aren't out yet, so trying to find browns, tans, creams, and off-whites in those textures hasn't worked out. Too bad I'm needing earthtones because there are a zillion options in blue denim. Oh well...maybe another project.
((((((CRISSY))))) You have been on my mind a lot!!!
Survived the Kid Rock concert. I was SOLD OUT!!!! Holy smokes all I could see was heads and arms. The minute ZZ Tops came on everyone stood up. I didn't take my good camera cuz I was told no cameras so I hid my old one in my purse. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR get there and everything I was told we could NOT take in was allowed. Next time I will know better. But it was fun got to see Sheri and Jenny, whom I hadn't seen in since Feb only chatted with them on FB.
While I was gone to Oregon Doug took good care of my flowers...I came home to this..........
Our temps are perfect this week low 90's to high 80's towards next week, big bday bash on the 10th hope it stays cool
Sissy was playing around with my camera and got this of me just as the sun hit the prism and you can see I cut my hair to just past my shoulders. It was down to the middle of my back but with perm it was to heavy and way to HOT!!!! I love how it is now. Just wash and go!!!!
Who ever plans the 2015 Reunion I hope it's planned to the middle of the states so it's easier for all of us to get together. Most of you live on East coast and it's hard on us on the West coast (well me at least, lol)
I did not go back far enough and read, but if the 2015 reunion is in TN I won't be there..........................
Farmers Almanac.
2nd-3rd Any Seeds Planted Now Will Tend To Rot.
4th-5th Most Favorable Days For Planting Beets, Onions, Turnips, And Other Root Crops. Plant Seedbeds And Flower Gardens. Good Days For Transplanting.
Lanakila, too bad I used Kel's old corduroys for the cats' beddings some times back.
If you still could use denim, I'll send you some next week.
Crissy gal, having met you, there's no way I can ever leave you out of my heart!!
As long as I noticed you're playing your games on FB, I know you're fine and needed time working things out as you'd posted aeons ago!
So.. I didn't go crazy like I had with another DGer who went missing too long. I called her town sheriff's asking them to check on her as she had an abusive husband. Lol.. yah.. I care too much sometimes :(
All I can do for you is pray that He gives you all the help you need and a better future. Joel is cute by the way!
So.. if any of you don't want me to call your town's sheriff should you be missing too long... and if I can't call nor track you on FB or on any other social media... please give me ample warning!!
Hi Carole... Barb.. Sis Kathy..
Hey LK. Marion might still be at Sue's.
My schedule depends on Farmers Almanac!! Lol!! Gardening that is. No planting nor dispersing seeds but I'll continue weeding instead.
Also applying more fertilizer to the potted brugs.
Got meatballs cooked for Kel's supper, cats to groom and more sewing to be done. Why oh why did I join swaps!!
Don't answer that!!
hey Cindy, love your gardens, and I really like your picture! It sure feels good to chop off all that hot hair! It did when I finally cut mine off! I had 18 inches cut off the first time, to my shoulders, after a month, I did not like that, so I cut it short, and it has been short since! Glad to hear you had a good time at the concert. Andy just called me last night to tell me that ZZ Top will be in San Antonio in October. I told Todd we are going!
Cindy, you look good gal and so does your garden. Good job Doug. I sure need your help!
ZZ Top's amazing. I saw them opening at a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert (1999) and they put on a better show that LS!! Ooooh I was dancing (my legs were okay then) and screaming "cheap sunglasses"!!!
Sorry Sistah.. one day someone here may come across millions and have money to spare for a Ca. trip for us!
You'll have fun, LK! They have some moves!
Jaye he says Thank You!! Ha that's great!
Cindy!! It's great to see your picture and your house is adorable!!! I understand your pain about being one of the few on the west coast and not being able to make it to a reunion on this side. I agree with Jaye, I think you said this, that we need to venture out and find a friend in Vegas who can host this! LOL!
Mine hair is naturally curly and down to my mid back and I don't have the nerve to cut it, I figure winter is almost here lol!
Well I'm going night night, waving to everyone!!
PINK~~~ PINK!!!! PINK????? Who are you, and what did you do with Jaye???
Good Morning Ladies,
The first time I cut my hair I was 9 yrs old and it was down to my waist. Boy was my dad MAD!!!! I had gotten it cut into a pixie, lol. I think my mom got tired of fixing it all the time. As a kid every Sunday night, Aafter bath mom would sit me on the floor in front of her and roll my hair up on those funky sponge rollers, while we watched Walt Disney. As I got older she started perming it, so from that point on I always had short curly hair. It's just been the last 10 yrs that I've let it get past my shoulders. I envy these girls with LONG beautiful straight hair, but it's just not for me...........
Yesterday I walked out onto my front porch and there is a 5 gallon bucket with glads in them Doug's mom has been pulling up all my glads. Grrrrrrrrrrrr I was so mad I took the pitch fork, went down ther and dug up my Iris'. I know it's ok to dig up Iris and transplant but NOT time for the Glads, so now I don't know what to do with them. I'm going to redo the flower garden now that I know what sunlight it gets and what flowers I can grow. Plus I'm digging up the other side of the yard, it's going to be a veggie, herb and flower garden ^_^. Doug gets to have the back yard for his garden ^_^. I'm thinking the side garden will be a good place for the Iris' so I'm going to clean that out today. I've already cut out a bunch of Daturas, and can see some wild flowers that couldn't get past the Daturas. Boy I'm not doing that again those suckers take over, lol but they are so pretty when they bloom so I need a different spot for them.
Well Doug's mom gets to keep the house for the tune of $15,000 plus. But she still has to get it in her name. She thinks all she has to do is go to the court house and put it in her name, lol. I told her no you will have to go to court to probate it. So until she gets it in her name she only pays the interest. But after she does that then she starts making payments to Medical, plus she has to pay the City of Marysville $31,000 for the loan that nanny took out on the house when that guy scammed her for updating the house. She also still has her mobile home that she's paying rent on. Oh well not my problem, she's Doug's mom, I have my own mom to worry about.
Hope YOU all have a good weekend!!!
