**Sweet Interruptions** Room 264

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I've never had a mini plumeria, but I would think they take as much care as a large one. I think I was watering them too much, they can take a little neglect, so the tag said. They also like 6 hours of sun. Slow growing too. The tag gives it the name "Divine". I hope it is too.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sis Kathy, did Sarah enjoy church today?

Crissy.. Joel is your knight. Thank you Joel for rescuing her! Not that you can't stand on your own Crissy, but you sure can use the right support.
Enjoy yourselves at Branson.

Pegi, I've learnt not to overwater Plumerias. their stalks hold moisture, too much can rot them.
How do I know this? Yep, killed too many.
Glad that you are enjoying the camera. Don't you just love the zoom lens? Safe to say we'll be enjoying more pictures!!

LK, that too. But this simple thing will be what I want to attempt, got to WM first for the balls!

She has other videos and a website. http://ornamentdesigns.com/

It's gonna be a rough road ahead for Marion and her sister. But they'll have each other to lean on. Plus, Charles and Kim.

Goodnight sistahs.. see you in the a.m.
Carole, hope you're in bed at this time!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, those are so pretty. They look tedious, but easy!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Mom passed at 12:52 this morning. Sue and I were not able to be there. We were told she was sleeping peacefully without meds and just slipped gently away.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Bless you both.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Marion, I am so sorry, but be assured she is in a much better place now. Lots of hugs, prayers, and thoughts to you and your famiy. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need anything at all.

jaye have you read this?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

((((Marion)))) I'm so sorry that your heart is hurting right now. I KNOW how hard it is to lose your Mother. Even though she was suffering and you are happy for her to be in a pain free place, our hearts hurt for us.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sis 'Bama.. I read it! So said none saw the money exchange. Bama should be wanting Johnny Football to be innocent anyway, to prove once again that your defense can contain him!

(((((Cookie)))) Losing our loved ones is never easy, no matter how prepared we are.

When my parents died, I couln't see them buried. Didn't have any closure with either. Unexpected illnesses claimed their lives. Been decades, yet, when the sadness starts to creep in my heart.. I tried to remember mum's voice and her touch.

So sistahs, if you still have your mum. Spend some quality time with her.

Going to town---- again--- always forgetting something-- like cat food!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I have to do the same thing, Jaye!! This morning was a can of cat food with a can of tuna for 6 to share...they were NOT AMUSED!!!! Guess I'm lucky I wasn't trying to spread it among 29!!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

((((((((((((((((MARION))))))))))))))))) I am so sorry for your loss, big big hugs.

I do that all the time too!! Jaye I hate it when that happens!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Thanks everyone. Yes, it hurts but right now Sue and are more tired and numb at the moment. Really don't care for having to use FB to get info to family but scattered as far as our family is, it was easier than calling each one. They may be my blood family but I consider each one of you to be part of my family. Love makes a family and you each fit that description. Please continue your prayers as the hard part is yet to come...Sue is stoic but I know it is coming.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

As much as you love us Marion, I think I can speak for all of us here, including Kel. We love you over the moon plus all the other moons that scientists haven't discovered... and back. You my dear will always be close in our thoughts, thus said, let us share your grief..
Prayers will continue for you and your family. Poor Sue, she'd be needing you more than ever when her "iceberg" tips over.
Send her our love and hugs will you?

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Well said, Jaye. I often wish I could talk to my mom or spend the day with her again. And my grandmother as well. I guess it's human nature to take familiar things somewhat for granted. We human beings tend to think things will never change. But they do. ♥

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

jaye is right, I never new my mother until she died. spent years searching for her just to find out he died 8 months before I found her. so spend lots of time with your moms and embrace every moment.

marion, I love you a bushel and a peck, with a hug around the neck

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Marion dear, Jaye said it better than I ever could have. You are in our hearts.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready! I have had my shower, watered the flowers, then off in a bit to go in for lab work. Something I have to do every 6 months for my cholesterol.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

good luck with the lab work. am dying my hair. can you spare a cup of coffee

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Lots of coffee here. I even have a fresh bottle of Baileys for creamer!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Baileys actually makes creamers now!! had some last time I was in NC!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yeah, but I like the real thing in my coffee! How are you doing Thunder?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

I drink mine black

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm so sorry Sis Kathy that you never had that mother-daughter relationship.
My mother had me too young. 16 I think. She's a good housekeeper and dutiful wife But when it comes to parenting, she let my dad reign us with an iron fist.
Though we can't see eye to eye, I always tell her that I love her.
You got sistahs that love you, Kathy. If you're missing a mother story, one of us will help you fill that void.

This is one.
My mother would sew all our clothes using the old treadle. But she'd hem by hand on the floor.
She'd sit on the coconut leaves mat, place a pillow in her lap for her hemming job, and the radio will be blasting some daytime Malay soap opera. I hated that!
The little ones will be at her feet playing while I was forced to take lessons on hemming. She'd tell me the importance of uniform stitches.. thread matching..
To me then, it was wasted time. I couldn't wait for her to finish up so I could change the radio's channel.
Looking back.. that was quality time.

How have you been Thunder?

Waving HI at Karen! I had to say your i.d out loud to Kel when he pointed it out! Should hear his laugh! Grandmas are never silly!!

Hope your cholestrol is under control LK. I like cream in my coffee. Back to drinking it again... can't function right without it.

Kel won't touch coffee. He loathes the taste, but loves the aroma of fresh brew!

Crissy, I had to return again this morning!! Not that I love to shop especially when WM is a 30 minute drive! Lists don't help. But I'm glad I return as some essentials went on sale this morning.. like MEAT! Yah... got to feed Kel.
It's better for me to shop in the morning as motorized wheelchairs are easily found.

Cookie, you got 6 kitties now?? I actually have 2 dozens, but feel like 29 with some extra attitude!

Can't find the balls that I need to make those baubles LK. I'll just have use the square ones.

Off to take a walk in the gardens. I see some Madonna lilies blooming. They always appear late here.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear you had to watch Mom hand stitching. I think we all hated the lessons at the time. Wish I could go back in time and learn to make pie crust like hers! Guess store bought will have to do.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Not sorry now, LK. I am actually the fortunate one among all the girl siblings. I'm the only one that can sew a decent seam!! Lolol!!
All that frustrations in making me learn sewing, she never taught the others.
But later I had fun, when my great grandma that trusted me with her old hand crank Singer.

LK, Mum had made notes of all her recipes and when she died, the brothers lost her notebook. The girls now have to depend on their memory. Just not like Mum's they'd say!
If I could go back in time, I want to spend as much time with her and NOT argue back!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I agree Jaye, if only we knew then, what we knew now!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I don't have a great Mom story but I do have a great Dad one.
Mom and I had gone shopping for school clothes and I got a new pair of shoes. I was sitting on the front steps just admiring them. A girl from up the street came by and I sat there saying "Nah, nah, nah ,nah, nah - I got new shoes and you don't." My Dad came rushing out of the house and sat down beside me and this is what he said to me.
"Nobody in this world is better than you are (big grin on my face) but remember, you are no better than anyone else either." I had to go inside and wash out my mouth with Ivory for being so fresh.
A very valuable lesson learned that day......

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Love that story, Barb, and yours too, Jaye. I do make crust like my Mother. I always told her that the roll out kind from the store tastes just as good, but everyone knows that it DOES NOT!!!

Off for a bit to evening garden club ("Here and There"). I'm co-host tonight, so I made a lemon pound cake and I'll serve it with fresh blueberries and cool whip. Yum, maybe I should eat some dinner before I leave! May not be enough cake to go around!!! Have M&Ms and Fruit Slices candy, plus cashews to go along with it. The other host will have the drinks and since it's at her house she has to come up with all the dishes!

Need to head for the shower, Love you all and special hugs to Maid M.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful story Barb!
Cookie, have fun tonight!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks for sharing with us Barb. We got a glimpse of your childhood life. Your dad's a wise man. All parents should teach their kids humility.
How does soap taste like?

Look.. the lilies. No these aren't my favorite Casablanca. The leaves are different. They're more frond like. Plus these lilies have a much lighter scent.
Sister Carolyn gave me one plant years ago, and now they are competing with the Turks Cap for space... pushing out the orientals and asiatics.

Second pic is the sole hedychium that's blooming right now. It's called something Spice!!

Third pic is of banana blooms.

Have fun Cookie. Yes eat first before leaving. That hostess might not be like you, a generous one!

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Love that Hedychium. I have two and can't wait for them to bloom. :)

What kind of banana? I have Musa basjoo. It doesn't bloom very conspicuously, but I do like it.

Wow, look at all those pretty blooms.
Please tell me what that pretty bloom is in your 2nd picture?

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Thanks, LK. That's a 'Phantom' Petunia.

Holly Springs, NC(Zone 7b)

Popping in to say 'Hi', but off to work!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

have a great day

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning sistahs.
Lovely blooms Carole. I was about to enquire on that Phantom Petunia. I want one!
Good to know that you can grow Hedys in your area. Sent some to my BFF in Lebanon, Tn and none survive. Took me by surprise this Spice blooms early. Kalili and Peach are putting out buds while I don't see any on the rest. :( Hopefully soon!

Pop back in Lanakila! Have a great day at work!
You too Crissy!

Hey Sis Kathy! Enjoy the church revival tonight. Sara must be looking forward to that. For revival weeks, our church serves pizzas and hotdogs. Kinda relieved the parents from having to cook!

How was your cholestrol result LK?

I'll disappear from here for a while. Got to finish my swap box!!
