SWEET INTERRUPTIONS # 259

Pegi, actually my next door neighbor built the house with his FIL. He "fashions" himself as master of everything......Oh my hear a song coming on "Master of the House" from Les Miz! He over did some areas and others he did as cheaply as he could. In the 70s when this house was built, I doubt there was any type of building code in Gadsden Co. That and the fact he is what is referred to here as " a good ole boy". The next owner who was a pilot visioned himself as an expert handyman also.......hope he few better than he did home repairs.

Oh well, all is repaired as far as plumbing goes and today the contractor will remove the damaged wood and replace new boards with braces as it is a floor to an upper bedroom. Again grateful I hated that ceiling otherwise it could have been much, much worse!

Good ole boy Kel still has that repair list since I moved here.
It's no longer work in progress, but had turned into an archive of possibilities! I'm just glad that we don't have children but cats that can put up with the FLAWED interior.
Cats too contribute to the unique disarray, with their scratching posts.

Sis Kathy, Kel finally agreed to switch insurance agents. For years, he had been paying double of what he's paying now! I emphasized on the 'he' as he's stubborn that way!
This man has a clean record and happily gave away MY money to a greedy agent, just because he's local!

Marion, there's a sloth missing from that sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica.
I've been moving so slow this morning.. can't get my mojo going. Don't feel like fixing coffee. Might just grab an Atkins milk shake. 1 gram of sugar, not bad.

That missing sloth might be located in Kim's room. LOL She adores them....along with cats.

Jaye, don't give up...this work has be 10 years in the process but it appears it is getting done now.

Looking like it could be a nasty day today......very overcast and humid...did I say humid? Worse if possible.

Kim is at work for 2 days of work shops and helping interview new prospects for Spanish teacher position.

was out planting flowers for a half hour. now I itch all over, my head is pounding and my bp is off the charts. I guess this is why 2 of my meds. say avoid direct contact with sun. I even got burned

I have a problem.. not actually a problem..
There's this issue of "Quiltmaker" that appeared in my mailbox today. One of you please 'fess up as I didn't subscribe to this mag. I know it got to by one of my sistahs!
I truly appreciate this thoughtfulness and thank you so much. But I need to know who did this wonderful gesture.

I'm always losing my gardening hat and or gloves. Ah, the nasty vine that keeps creeping over the fence is partly gone. I had pushed the vine clinging to their side of fence over a little and slowly it fell down on their side. I guess no one could park their cars there so "someone" came and cut off the offending part, but don't know why the entire vine wasn't chopped out. Keep it on their side and I'll be happy.

We started out with our June gloom, but sun is out now. DH started on a project in the house over two years ago and now am wondering if it will every be done. I really should have taken a home fixer upper course years ago. Why did I think my DH would fix anything around here without my complaining??? My house was constructed in the mid 50's and over the years each owner must have added some of their own "repairs" and what a mess they left with some things. Some people should never be allowed to have a hammer in their hands!!

ROFLOL, Pegi that is so true!! I have found that out in the past few days but I do think we are on the road to recovery and being finished!

savannah had a girl party at our house....... oh my gosh.... two of the girls were monsters ! just annoying , complained the whole time , nothing made these two girls happy and they just ruined it for the others. never again will the two be invited to our house again.
