Jaye i did not grow them in the house during the winter.The seeds fell off the plant and came up on their own.They lived all winter long outside and they made it.The plant with the purple flowers and that pink flower are seeds from year before last.They lived through the winter outside.
SWEET INTERRUPTIONS # 259
You still did a good job in taking care of them Cody!
Happy Memorial Day sistahs! This picture truly is sad. But that's the truth. Our heroes sacrifice all to give us our freedom.
Nothing special today, gonna be weeding again and maybe do a couple transplanting.
Then, I'll treat Kel to lunch ... got to make his tummy happy before I tell him that we need a new bed!! Lol!!
Happy Memorail day everyone!
Good luck with the new bed Jaye!
I'm baaaa-ack!!
Well, it was an "interesting" trip camping this weekend.......
1st, we got the 2 gas tanks filled up, and by the time we were about 30 miles from the site, we only had 1/4 tank left in ONE. It was 1/8 tank by the time we got to the gas station not far from the campground. Then, we discovered the water was shut off at the site, and we could only get it from the main taps. We drove there, and when trying to fill, the water ran out and got the batteries wet - we couldn't start the motorhome. Someone from another site boosted us (the manager wouldn't) and we got back to the site ok. Good thing we had 2 camping water bottles with us!!!!
Then I lost my watch, and I can't find my car/church key set..... I don't have a spare set for the church but I do for my car thank goodness. I bought another watch, and still on the lookout for my set of keys,
We called the previous owner of the motorhome, and he's coming by this afternoon to show us where the valve is, for the fresh water holding tanks.
oh, and we had a new experience - learning how to use the dumping station lol
We've booked to go again June 16 to 21st - Bob has vacation (banked time which is paid) time coming to him - about a week - so it's all good!!
Susan, you sure did have an interesting time. Sure hope you find your keys! Happy to hear you are enjoying get-a-way time in your motor home.
I should get out and re-pot some more plants. While at Lowe's last week I found a sun coleus, now my job is to keep it alive.
Jaye, we need a new bed too, this mattress if falling apart. Haven't mentioned it to DH yet, he has so many things on his mind now. He is feeling a lot better, eating more, but another chemo treatment coming up soon. Just wish he would come out and enjoy the sunny days with me.
Peter came by to show us where the hot water tank was unplugged, and that they fresh water holding tanks were taken out cuz they cracked and too expensive to replace...
Now we know...
wanna hear a funny? My mom got picked for Jury Duty - she's 94 and in a care home!!!! lol
Oh, I'm not too surprised about the elderly getting a notice for jury duty. They just keep picking names out of a hat I think. I use to like doing jury duty in my younger years, but if I get a notice I just tell them I'm too old and feeble. LOL
Susan, will you be replacing the reservoir? Or just keep a supply of bottled water?
Sorry you had to lose your keys. But hey, you had an interesting weekend, didn't you?
I think it's that way here too, Pegi. Just randomly pick names for JD, and actually, from the registered driver license pool.
Knew this as I wasn't a citizen years ago, and my name was selected. When I told the judge during jury selection, the clerk apologized and said he'd put a notation in my file @ the DL office!!
No, Kel vetoed the bed! He said the cost is ridiculously expensive and the memory foam mattress topper works fine for him. I was thinking of him as his side sunk. Got one of those mattresses that you can't flip over. Just rotate. Well then, we do save some money, as the 3 inch topper is $50.
But I came home to a grand evening! Glad the moment I stepped into the house, I checked into FB... saw a post on the Plant Exchange offering a box of brugs cuttings for postage by the owner of Arghya Gardens.
Of course, I responded right away, and I was the first to respond!!
Joy, joy, joy! Felt like I won a million dollars!
Didn't want to replace what I lost, but hey.. when God makes ways for me to do it again.. I'm taking it!!
Morning sistahs. It's Possum's surgery day today.
Marion, Kel laughed when I told him what you wrote!! Nope, Possum refused to play dead.. he rather stay awake and mark his territory!!
Jaye, lucky you for getting the box of cuttings from Elizabeth. Sending prayers for possum today.
Pegi, glad to hear hubby is feeling a bit better! Sending prayers the treatments will keep working for him!
Cindy, happy belated Birthday to you! Been busy with the kids all week end. Hope you had a great day?
dropping in with a 'hi'
could it be a gerber daisy???
Jaye, I bought a memory foam from Khols..regular $500 and when they have midnight madness they discount, think I got it for 75% off so keep an eye on their sale papers..lordy it's comforable, some mornings I'm almost tempted to sleep in beyong 6am lol
That's a gerber daisy.. for sure, Cindy.
How did I miss your birthday?? SO so sorry!! Thanks Doug for enabling our sistah here!
Did you have fun at the baseball game? You must have a sore throat cheering Rory, LK!
Betty, I don't think our Kohls stock toppers, only bedcovers or quilts.
I've seen the 4" ones, offered for under $300 online. You're right, this 3" had been lulling me to sleep, unless Kel snores!!!
I have Gebera daisy and they don't look like that
Hmmm you're right Betty and Jaye, mine have longer petals and a little loose not tight like that one
Cindy, I also think it is a gerbera daisy. there are many varieties.
we got one of those foam toppers a few years ago for sons bed. less than $100.00 including shipping from overstock.com
Love the memory foam toppers!!!! Best investment we ever made for sure. Like Betty, some days I had much rather just roll over and be comfy.
Busy day today. The A/C people are busy working away. The air handler and all the old duct work has been taken out of the attic and they are now on their way to pick up all the new pieces. I must say, they are extremely clean with their work.....clean as they go. Such a nice change from other in the past.
bought this one but as I say at 75% off during one of the blitz at Kohl's

Jaye, the baseball game got rained out Friday night, it was rescheduled for Saturday morning, and that was rained out as well, so we came back home! Andy and family got here Saturday night, and spent the week end here! We had so much fun with the kids!
Dylan playing peek a boo at dinner Friday night at TGIF!
and the kids having fun in the kiddy pool!

CINDY - Happy belated b-day!! Glad it was good :-)
Found my keys - BOB had 'em..... I told him he did, but he said "no", then found 'em last night in his pants pocket lol
We won't be replacing the reservoir tank, Jaye - we just need to hook the hose from the RV directly to the water source (like u do for your trailer or home) and get direct feed water from the camp site....
As long as there's water at the site, we're good. If no water at site, then we'll use the big bottles....
With Direct Feed we'd at least get hot water too.... cuz it would store in the hot water tank in the RV
I also think it's a gerbera daisy - there are many varieties.
Oh boy did I have fun shopping for flowers!!!! Stopped at OSH first and got Fushia and Zinnas half off, then to Lowe's and got
Blue Uniform Bellflower
Lion's Tail Oreja de leon Leonotis leonurus, jeez why do they have to name flowers like that, lol
Then to Home Depot
Red Gerbera
Yellow Gerbera
Zinnas
Petunia
Marigold and.....................of course
Butterfly Bush, Lavender Veil
This bush only gets 12 - 18" tall but 30 - 36' wide
Oh yea Crook Neck Squash, yum yum....................

Oh that looks like it was a wonderful shopping trip!
Perfect shopping trip!! Your space is really so pretty. I need a little of your energy. Seems when I get to Lowe's their plants on the mark down table look so sad. I finally got my sun coleus in a bigger pot and a some of my nicer pots cleaned up so now ready to pot some more up.
Good thing Bob has those car and church keys, Susan.
It don't take much to make Cindy happy.. just give her $$ to get more plants!!
That's most of us too!! LOL!!
I don't have any on your list. Gerbera daisies dieded and so did the butterfly bush and passifloras :(
Pegi, the markdowns at my local Lowe's isn't worth salvaging. Actually, one must know the garden manager. If you see any that you think should be discounted, talk to the manager.
I did that at another branch and had been successful, but not here. Unfortunately, that lady had been transferred :(
Possum's home. He was traumatized!!! The vet and tech confused him with their different scent that he froze when they touched him!
When he got home, he made a beeline to the kitchen table and stayed under it for hours!!
Bless his heart. This home is the only world for him. Vet said Possum can't even see any sliver of light. But he sure can zone in to where Kel and I stand!! That acute is his hearing and smell.
So, I'll be expecting less cleaning up in this house since he's fixed!! Hallelujah.. and less macho fighting too!
Poor Possum, he took a trip thinking he was going to be tutored I bet. No wonder he is traumatized!!!!
Cindy, that butterfly bush sounds interesting. Might have to see if they have any around here. I had the Lion's tail growing in Gainesville. Talk about one interesting plant and mine spread like crazy. I don't have enough sun here to bother planting one.
Well another hot one today and no a/c but atleast they are working on getting it installed.
Morning everyone! Glad to hear possum is home!
Marion, glad to hear the AC will be fixed soon!
hey ladies !
sorry been MIA. Just have not had much to say and got busy with life.
I have my CA trip all planned for july 2-8 very excited about it.
i just hope i can find someone to watch and feed animals . yikes. i would rather have someone stay here at the house but that cost may be a stretch. ?
Susan your camping trip my word. what a ride you had
glad Possom is home
Cindy wow what a haul and you will have such a pretty garden.
LK Dylan is so cute !
Jaye hope the bed works out for you. We have a memory foam . yea its pricey. had to sell my liver for it. How are you little fur babies ?
Marion wow on your heat ! , hope you get your ac installed soon
Marion, Possum wouldn't budge this morning, not even to eat!! Shows cats do remember!
Don't know how I'd manage without a/c. Got too much blubber to cool off easily and I don't want to scare the kitties walking around naked.
Butterfly bush/buddleias requires sun too.
It's great that you're finally taking that trip you've so badly wanted, Sue. I'm so happy for you, nothing like a nice long reunion with your family and friends.
Do hope that you and Cindy can manage to hook up.
Will the kids be going with you? If I were closer, I'd help you with the farm and gardening tasks. Will Lucy be boarded?
Marion,
Here is a better pix of Buttefly Bush
I planted it in a lagre Azeala pot, probably will have to transplant next spring. Only reason I didn't put in the ground, is this plant can go with me if and when we move again. When I lived in the mobile home park wtih Rick I planted tow Black Knight Buttefly Bushes, they were so beautiful I hated to leave them but they were over 15 ft tall I couldn't dig them up. I tired rooting cuttings but no luck with those:(. I plan on doing something with the other side of the yard and palnting a bush, but not until fall.
~~~~ Waving Hi! I'm still alive and kicking!
Hey Cookie! How ya doing?
Hangin in LK! Trying to catch up with the weeds and the planting. Got the veggies for the garden today. We've had such a cool Spring and wet one, too that it's just now warm enough!
Sure has been a weird spring for weather!
Jaye - love that u have ur picture on here :-) poor Possom..... I feel for him - poor guy!
Marion - hopefully either the ac will be fixed, or the temp settles down
Cindy - bellissimo fleurs! wish I were with u, shopping for flowers!
Joyce - come weed MY garden lol
Sue - Yaaaaaaay ur going on ur trip and I'm sure it's going to be wonderful!
LK - how're u doing???
Pegi - you're ahead of me in the plant scenario.... I've barely started to weed, and u have ur coleus planted!
We have Rain, Rain, Rain right now, and Bob's taken the bus to work instead of biking. He's had to fix buckled flooring at our doorway and had to go up on the roof and use black (gooey) patching on it.
We've heard from the Alderman's office, and altho it's kind of a cryptic message, it really looks like he's behind us in not moving the mobile home park. They are having an "in camera" meeting in Sept, with the entire City Council. I know that our Mayor, Alderman, and one other Alderman that do not want us to be moved. They say it's not "financially feasible" so I hope the other 6 Aldermen agree..... Our neighbours are saying "That's IT, we're selling, cuz they'll move the park". They do not trust City Council. They see the black side of things, always.
Morning everyone!
Susan, I was doing pretty good till this morning, I woke up in a lot of pain again! Still taking my antibiotics for a few more days, not for sure what is going on! I will call the Dr in a few days if it does not let up!
oh LK - so sorry to hear you're in pain again! What did u do yesterday that prompted this? Were you overdoing because you were feeling better before?
I decided to eat a regular meal, instead of fruits and veggies. I had a taste for KFC, and that was a big mistake!
