SWEET INTERRUPTIONS # 259

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cookie, your garden's as big as mine, if not bigger!! You can't do that job in a week! I'm still weeding, raking and fertilizing here and there................. unfortunately not Miracle Gro. Switched to fish emulsion and horse dung!!!
Kel said I don't make my job easy by boycotting MG. But I'm boycotting Monsanto (The owner of MG). They won't feel the pin hole I make in their purse sack, but I'm not giving my money to them!!

Susan, still praying here besides for your job, may the Lord stabilize your housing situation.
Yes, there will always be naysayers, and this pessimistic attitude is toxic ain't it?

It could be the grease too LK. I've been on a 'clean' diet, and yesterday I binged on fried chicken late last night. Had some of Kel's leftovers WM fried chicken. Big mistake!! My bg test was 450! Had only 2 pieces.
The grease affected my sugar.. so I guess your diverticulitis had a flare up.

Please continue to pray for Kel, my sistahs. The prayers have sustain his spirits greatly.
MIL called him at 4 this morning, saying that his dad had trouble sleeping.
Poor Kel had to check into him.
I know the reason.
At one time, doctors proposed Murdock be in an all care facility as he'd be getting weak. As you know, MIL put up a big fight. Reason: She can't brag on how she took care of him if he's elsewhere.
Murdock too tried to prove the doctors wrong, but the truth is there, unless God extends his life.
Yesterday, MIL made a big fuss with a new nurse (the old one quit the visits, after 2 weeks) that Murdock 'deserves' a place in the care facility! Oh this woman!!! (Biting my tongue here)
Unfortunately, there's no room now.
This man is going downhill fast, as he doesn't have any peace from MIL. It's all about her, and he's the one dying. It doesn't help to tell the man that he chose to be ill.

Today, Kel had to attend an all day class and exams later. Praying he goes through the day okay.

Okay.. that's off my chest.
Had to use all my strength to use a heavy razor back rake. My right shoulder is sore now. Tylenol to the rescue.

Sending lots of payers for Kel Jaye!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Appreciate them mucho LK.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Prayers and hugs coming your way for both Kel and you! Prayers for Murdock, too.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm sending prayers too Jaye....

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, so sad to read the above. I have you, Kel and family in my prayers during this difficult time. Huge hug for you and Kel!!!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Hugs and prayers from me too.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Murdock, Kel and you are all in my prayers..... hopefully he will find peace.
Too bad she waited until there was no room for her to realize it was not right for him to be without round-the-clock care....

re: housing situation for us - we'll just have to wait until the "in camera" meeting with City Council in Sept, and then for them to let the residents of our park know (they have to generate a letter, and you Know how long gov't can take to write a letter..........

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate all your prayers and good thoughts.
Sistahs like Cookie and Marion that have met Kel, can tell you that he's incapable of any malicious thoughts. I'm lucky that his mother's traits weren't passed on to him.

Class ended for him at 7, came home around 9.. after being subjected to his mother's irrational tantrums. And he still pined for a Wendy's chilli!
Food. the cure all for Kel's ills!! Lol!!
Of course, he got what he wished for.. Wendy's close late anyway!

Govt. is quick to take money, but help comes slow here. So, it's the same anywhere in the world then, Susan?
So hoping you don't have to move.

A thank you bouquet for my very loving sistahs.

Morning everyone! Well, I went to see the Dr. yesterday, only to come home so mad. The Dr. had to leave for emergency surgery, and I saw the PA assistant. I have never seen anyone so dumb! She finally came back to the room, with just a sheet of paper in her hands, asked me if I had been seen here before? I told her yes, just about 10 days ago, and if she went for my chart, she would know that, then started asking 500 questions, what are you here for, what meds ar you taking? I told her again, go get my chart and she would know! Well, she finally came back with a surprised look on her face, and said, Oh you have been here before! DUH!!! After reading my chart, she said, I am so sorry, I can't do anything for you, go home, stay on a liquid diet, and if the pain gets worse, go to the ER, and page the Dr. I begged her for something for the pain, and she said sorry, the State of Texas won't allow me to give you anything stronger than the Vicodin you already have!
So I came home, took 2 vicodin, and went to bed very angry! Still in pain this morning, and vicodin is keeping it tolerable!
OK, I am done ranting! Thanks for listening!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Jaye, love the beautiful flowers!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Darn LK, if you had known that, you'd have gone to the E.R!
So sorry that you had that much pain. That P.A must not be trained well.
You should ask for a refund!!!
Hope that pain goes away soon.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh, I hope it goes away soon too!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Morning all. It is the sounds of hammers and walls being ripped out there this morning. At last, finally, I can hardly believe it but the "dungeon" is really being finished into a sewing/guest suite. It is a beautiful day indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So agree Jaye, Kel is the most peaceful man I have met.......other than Ross. :-) Glad he got his chili but at that time of night, I would have been a basket case!! Sending more prayers and of course, hugs always.

Lk, that is the pits!! I have encountered some like that and it always reminds me of a saying "someone had to finish last in the class".

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

They have 2 strengths of Vicodin, a 5 and 7. DH says the 7 helps a lot more. But, they can give stronger pain meds here, thank God. I'd be hopping mad too in that situation. I have used Vicodin when my bad is so sore and I want to do some work outside. Helps me a lot and I think it gives me a little buzz. LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks Marion. You've been waiting on that dungeon to be finished for years now. Is it too much to ask for pics? Or we'd just have to see it in person!

As for pain pills, I get some from my sister. It's "lamalin" and it helps my back very much or any sore spots. Take it only when Tylenol doesn't work.

Pegi, hope it's a happy buzz!! Lol!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I have some good news...... I'm getting $3k back in my taxes...... on the other hand, Bob owes $900, but mine outweighs his :-)

This is all good!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

God is GREAT Susan!!
Happy for you gal!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion, please post pictures when you can?
Susan, that is great news on the taxes!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yes, and they do Direct Deposit, so hope to have it in a couple of weeks or maybe less?!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I will make an attempt to get pictures but right now, I wouldn't go in there for anything. Way to many boards and mess to contend with at the moment. I could be mean and say no, you have to come visit. LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Someday Marion, I will get down your way, and put my toes in the sand with you!

Holly Springs, NC(Zone 7b)

Poachers have stolen 90% of the plants!!!

This just makes me sick :(

http://bit.ly/ZyWTSx

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

On no!!! I bet there will be an increase in sales online! I think it's a $50 fine per plant if the poachers are caught.

Poachers should be given a long term jail sentence!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is so sad!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Hope they get caught and taught a very hard lesson.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

That's just MEAN!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

well, so much for good news on the taxes.... our accountant/friend said when she tried to e-file, it said there were errors, and now Bob's to pay $4k, and I get $782 back......
We're working on it, because it looks like Rev Canada disallowed some obviously allowable expenses.... like Business Use Of Home, his truck expenses (can't take ladders to work in MY car lol) and his monthly truck payments.
She'll be back in the city on Monday, so I've emailed her, to question these things she didn't include in his tax forms.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh oh, sure hope she can get them allowed! Are you just now filing taxes? In the US, April 15th is the deadline.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

What a huge mistake, sure hope it is straightened out in your favor. DH took the truck in to Pep Boys to see if they can find out why it starts some times and then others it won't without a shot of starter fluid. They called him this morning and said it was the fuel pump (one he just replaced a couple months ago) and it would cost $600 to replace it. We discussed it and said why were we paying insurance on it if it can't be driven so go ahead and fix it. We had some running around to do today so when we got back home Pep Boys called and said the pump was working fine and it was some other part they had to replace. Price was $193, what a big relief. Now it better keep starting all the time. DH has always done his own work on cars, but it at the point in his life he can't do it any more. With computers in cars now it is almost impossible to work on newer cars yourself.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh Susan, my heart breaks reading your bad news. Do hope they'll reconsider the business deductions.

It's not just the autos, Pegi, that makes consumers frustrated when it comes to repairs.
Most new appliances aren't made to last either, and parts are atrociously high.
There's a big conspiracy with the auto and appliance makers that would 'junk' their trade ins instead of reselling, to help with the sales of new ones.
Us poor folks don't stand a chance.

Take a minute to pray for Ok. 5 deaths. Lord have mercy on us all.

Glenview, IL

Good morning...

Well I've decided to take a break. Waiving hiya sistahs.

Cindy, Wow...your new gardens sure are pretty! love those stepping stones you did...oh my gosh, how nice to see the windsock is in great condition, lol when i first saw it hanging on your porch, I was thinking omg, that sure looks like something i made and ohwah it is, how cool to see...That was a fun thing to make and i've since made several more for gifts, lol maybe i should make one for myself, haha...i'll add it to a long list of projects waiting for me! Oh pretty soon i'll be decorating for the 4th of july too.

i am pretty excited, i finally planted my veggies! not bad only a week behind. Omg, can hardly wait to make a fresh picked salad!
ROFLOL, i was telling julia, how i need to get these in before harvest rolls around and every thing still in pots. So she helped clear the weeds and we planted.
We chatted away and before you know it it was time for her to go...I've been up for hours, finally had breakfast and watered the garden.

Sistah, you asked a while ago, sorry to not answer till now...Jacob is graduating tomorrow and will be attending the Johnston & Whales University in Providence RI in the fall, or at least we hope.

Man Susan, sure hope Bob can get a break with the taxes. We are still waiting on ours!! We ended up firing our accountant, and getting ALL our stuff back was just horrible...He had our stuff since the beginning of April, filed an extention-without us knowing...So now finally got everything to a new accountant, hopefully get it back before the week is over. It has caused quite a few issues especially since we cant do anything about Jake's schooling until they are done...

Marion, doing A HAPPY DANCE YOUR SEWING/GUEST SUITE IS ALMOST DONE!! oops, consider that just singing out loud, lol. glad the itchies are just about gone.
26 years of teaching, wow!

Linda Kaye, saw the photos of Dylan, he is soo cute...Are you feeling better today?

well, i best get a move on, needs to start on the front jungles before someone starts complaining about my weeds, lol, they are growing so nicely...

Enjoy the weekend.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Judy, how ar you doing? Sounds like your pretty busy planting all those veggies!

Still pretty sore, waiting on the Dr. to give me a referral to a specialist. never got a call yesterday, so hopefully Monday!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yayyyy... I see my Chippewa sistah decided to pay us a visit! Always happy to read your going ons Judy.
Jake must be anxious going to a new environment. But, he has a personality that would draw great friends easily. Congrats Jacob!
Ain't that something. You trust your accountant, and he jerked you around.
I had to do the same thing in 1984. Told ex and I that we owed IRS, when ex was working overseas that year. Paid him his dues, cheap at that time.. checked the IRS books at the library, and found out that we were owed $$$$. This accountant too lied for our neighbour by claiming losses on his farm, when he never made profits for that required consecutive 3 years then. Neighbour got caught, and had to pay major penalties!.
Hope you have at least one kid helping you with the garden Sis.
How' my Julia doing? Got to check her FB page and see what's new.

LK.. hate to know you're still in pain.
I found some meds for you..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nice medicine cabinet Jaye, wish I could have alcohol right now!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

our accountant is our church sister....... and it was my fault for not getting the paperwork to her..... just not doing straight thinking lately. Should have been filed for April 30th, I think.....
anyway, because I get $$ back, it'll likely pay for his penalty...... yadda yadda........
anyway, she's out of the city camping this weekend, and can look at the taxes again Monday..

Glenview, IL

Yeppers Sistah, Julia helps me out alot.
Though Jake and breenie both helped with the new veggie garden too.
Dh weed wacked esterday...wanted weed wack him for doing a section he had no bussiness in! Took out some cool stuff from the front! Mainly the bee balm that was just coming in well. He thought they were all weeds, grrrr. I usually weed that whole section first so i guess i should have said something before he went out front! Duh.

Yeah our accountant has been going down hill for a while...so glad we fond a good one to replace him.

Hi Linda kay... hope they get you in quick...meantime iLl meet you at Sistah Jayes medicine cabinet!! Are you taking anything that will alleiviate the pain?

Yes Jake is pretty excited to be going to Univercity...lol he even has a chef jacket from there!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Lots of vicadin, is the strongest meds I have here.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

LK, I feel your pain....to me it is the worst pain I have ever had including childbirth!!! Hope you get some relief soon.

Judy, what an accomplishment for Jake as well as you and Steve. Great parents!!!

Worked outside most of the day yesterday. Planted a red double Knock Out rose; cleaned up the carpet roses in the back yard and planted many hanging containers with all the plants that jumped into my cart at Lowe's on Friday evening. All marked down to $1.50 and quart sizes at that! Don't seem to understand why but every time I go to Lowe's and visit the garden section, plants just fall off the tables into my basket. Must be the eau de dirt I wear.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Does anyone have the new Samsung galaxy smart phone. I finally joined the smart phone world yesterday, and the battery only last about 4 to 5 hours, and that is just sitting on the counter. Is this a normal problem?
