Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Come visit & chat

Lyndonville, NY

I am sitting here, balling like a baby.

I got home from a rough morning, OK an entirely rough week....and there was a package from ProFlowers at the door.
I figured from DH.

I opened the top, and peeped inside. The most beautiful plant I have ever seen in my life....my first ever Orchard!!!

I searched for the card, tossing popcorn packing everywhere (cats are thrilled).

I find the card......the tears started, and are still going.

" 10 Years ago I walked into your House...a Graduated young Man.
It is because of your tough love and your familiys support, I am what I am today.

Thank you Ma, I love you...Happy Mothers Day!

NO, not from my own son....but from my Justin Michael whom I have been "ma" to since he was 9 years old.
AND....he is in Afghanastan right now....his 3rd tour of duty.

I need tissues!

Ok Debbie, you've got me crying! What a terrific young man is Justin Michael!
You gave that young man love and a family life and he will never forget that..I wipe a tear..shivers

You just might one day have grandchildren calling you nanny..you are his MOM

Darlene just called, she is also shedding tears but for different reasons, got an offer on her house and was signing it..yesterday the person who bought Mike's 32ft boat came to take it so she is overwhelmed as well.

Hugs to those in need..

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, Justin's Mom passed away when he was in 6th grade. His step mother was from H3LL and I called the sheriff on her several times.
I hid him in this house, fed him.....and he took Carrie to a couple "formal" dances in 8th & 9th grade. I always hoped they would hook up....but
It is as it should be.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sitting here wiping tears also! Debbie, that was so thoughtful of him to send you that beautiful plant!
Sending hugs to Darlene as well!

New swap opened up. Joy/rouxcrew opens the 2nd Annual OLD, NEW, BORROWED AND BLUE Swap Sign Up, come and check it out!

Debbie, I do remember the story and your kindness to him and also remember when he's in the areas he never forgets to drop in with a hug..you are HIS heroine! Rightly so, don't know of many would do the same.

Bet he picked the color for the plant to match the brilliancy of your eyes..

Feeling good about it I hope and don't despair, you've another son who will call!

LindaKay, went and joined, will be a challenge for sure...ok if it gets mailed to you Debbie?

Dianne or Debbie?

Victoria Harbour, ON

You caught me Debbie, Dianne has been on my mind today..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Finished Art's tie quilt..bit of trouble re cotton and the heaviness even after I took the insides out of them, but I'm sure Mae will like it!

Riley decided she'd just rest inside today seeing as it's raining..

not sure you can see the dove sitting on the ledge (in mid right hand side corner nearly ontop of the geranium) she's been there good part of the day..hopefully NOT nesting..maybe nest is in the tree and she's guarding it..

Yes, definitely can have it shipped here ....excuses to meet up more or bring up to you!

I see the little dove, very pretty. An Angel come to visit!

Riley looks very comfy.

Love the tie quilt, Mae will too! That is just beautiful. Reminds me of an old fashioned clock.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I was thinking you could bring it up on Elvis Festival end of July. Lol

Do doves nest IN things?? Wondering why she is just sitting there..now grandma would say she awaits a 'death'. Has me nervous..shooo'ed her off a few times and she is back!

Had 2 egg sandwiches today and 2 cups of coffee, don't want to cook so I decided I might have jelly sandwiches dipped in tea. Lol

Still raining

Lyndonville, NY

No, the black ravens wait the death...not the doves. She is bringing you "peace of mind". I have one that follows me all over out here, and
she sits on the ground under the feeder....the dog does't even bother her.

Love egg sandwiches! I missed my coffee today, had to take izzy to get groomed.....cried over that. She is such a mess with the sores.
Just breaks my heart and I hope it clears up. Sent a note and pictures to the Vet. We ordered subs for dinner....too tired to cook, and I
made it all week cooking every night.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, that came out so pretty! I am sure Mae will love it!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Very emotional day for you Debbie..did they remove all her hair?? Poor Izzy, likely she'll want to go into hiddng..back a few years ago had Sailor shaved, was almost like she was embarrassed being naked..am sure Izzy knows it for the best.

Yuk, Riley cuddle by my side..think she tooted..time for me to find another place to hang out lol

Did learn a few things..that is what happens when you look at a photo and try to make it...

I made it in 4 sections..nope should have been done in one then cut in 4
Not likely I will ever make one so no need to remember my mistakes.

Debbie...shear tears of joy. God bless!

Thank you Linda Kay Susan Betty and Marion.

Debbie - how wonderful of Justin!!
Hugs to Dianne......

Tonight we're going "driveway camping" in our Motorhome lol
Cya tomorrow, lovely people!!

mulege, Mexico

What a day. Could not think straight. Had to have Tony find my purse for me - I'd put a book on top of it. Then my headache came back. Oh, well, I washed a few tires and also got a few painted. Dogs are fed and so am I. Headache is coming back.

Wonderful story about Justin, Debbie. I cried, too.

Saul got back from a trip north yesterday so I stocked up on groceries and gave him a big hug. We di errands for about an hour and I was worn out.

I'm trying to play poker but my headache is interferring. Guess I'll give up and lie down again.

Guess I'm not completely over the virus or whatever it is.

hugs, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Have fun Susan.

Katie, sure hope you get over that headache soon!

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I took pictures of Izzy. That poor girl is so so sore. A staph infection in the skin, and also yeast infection

Now the air can help heal it along with the meds. She usually loves grooming...but she is really hurting. Put a "before" picture also.

Susan, have a good time!!

Judy, my heart was in my throat reading about Skittles! Thank heavens she is OK. we always put a blanket 3/4 of the way round
the cage when they are stressed and need calmed. So happy she isn't physically hurt. Hug the boys...know they felt badly.

Enjoy your day tomorrow Betty with your boys.

Hopefully now Izzy is on the mend Deb. And thrilled that Skittles is home and safe Judy.

Sorry I haven't been really active these last two weeks or so. Norm found another lump and we have been to hospital and found out that it is a calcification. On his right breast!!!! And yes, he had to have two mammograms plus an ultrasound. He has expressed his deepest sympathy to all of us who have had mammos!!!!!! I have been lurking some -just not posting much. Until I knew Norm was okay, my heart was with him......

Now I'll go back and catch up - sending love and hugs to all in need and pray you forgive me for not commenting at the time.
Love,
Barb

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers for you both Barb. Will he have to have surgery?

Lyndonville, NY

(((Barb)))) Sending lots of hugs to you and Norm, and...although he went through it, he appreciates us women even more!

I understand your needing to keep to yourself....we all do it. But realize we all love and adore you both and are here for an ear and hugs.

Today is DHs birthday and both girls & hubbies finally informed me late yesterday they are coming, so I have to get a move on and double
recipes and such!

Have a wonderful day.
Debbie

Barb - I agree with Debbie, but know how you needed to be with Norm.......... (((((((((Debbie&Norm)))))

Bob & I "enjoyed" the overnight in our camper. Only thing is.........someone siphoned all the gas out of it. About $75 worth, so Bob wasn't able to turn it over. We have locking gas caps, but they're not working anymore, so we're going to get new ones today....... That was 2 gas tanks worth of gas.
It'll cost over $100 to fill 'em again.
Good thing we found this out now, and not when we were heading out on the 24th. At least now we can plan for the cost.
Also, we couldn't figure out how to use the battery on the motorhome, so didn't have heat. Had our coats for before bed, and plenty of coverings for bedtime!
We played crib, and then watched a movie on Bob's laptop (no power - we were in a parking compound).

Victoria Harbour, ON

Quick hi

Omg Barb, prayers for both of you..hugs and prayers coming your way

Debbie, happy birthday to Paul..

Susan, shaking my head, hope for some reason there is wTer in the gas and it burns their vehicle motor

Boys are here, nothing done but gabbing. BUT' rain has just stopped so they will do easier project and keep PDF for tomorrow.

SIL/cousin Linda came at eight, not a crafter but she is attempting to make a quilt..putting together 9 patch blocks so I'm just here incase she needs me

no water in the gas tank...... but they had to have come several times with a Jerry can to get all of it. It must have been their "free fuel depot" for whenever they ran out...... The compound isn't monitored so if they have a key to the compound they can help themselves.
We just got 2 new locking gas caps, that thread on, not just pop on, so they're a bit better, but a Lock company said there are no truly good ones... and the ones we had were locking - they were popped so someone could syphon the gas.
I left a message for the new management of the park, and they'll be back in the office on May 22 or so. A letter in our mail box said they took over management of the park as of May 6, and we get the notice on May 11?!?! ah well......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure hope they did not get gas from thier vehicle?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, I said I hoped They would somehow have water in the gas they stole. I.e. sometimes condensation..wanted them to be in trouble.

Sun is out, finally but you need a jacket on, Linda just left, we are eating in about an hour, few projects to be done inside..keep telling the Greg and Jeff, we can wait until after Jamaica trip to get upside work done, we will see. With sun shinning everything looks so bright green, think some of the p,ants grew 2 inches overnight.

Last night lost hydro just before 7pm , sounded like 2 explosions, couple of transformers went when a large tree fell over the lines and didn't regain power till about 3am so off to bed I went..

Debbie, Poor Izzy, how is she doing today. Guess you have a house full also..and they call this mothers day right? Hope they brought supper and treats.

Now that is what I should do Susan, put up my camper near the pond and pretend I'm at the lake and tent out.

Barb, best Mothers' Day gift, knowing Norm is ok..sure gives on a fright

Lyndonville, NY

Our day started off wonderful.....and then some tragic news. My daughter Jeanna's best friend from high school, and one of "my kids" was killed
last night in New Orleans, LA. Zack went out there after the big hurricane to help rebuild the homes of many. He was an electrician, and amazing young man, with a smile that wouldn't stop. He did so much for so many. Someone shot him while he was driving, lost control and hit a tree. I am just in shock.

We are all just devastated. Zack and Jeanna were sewn at the hip from about 4th grade on. He spent so much time here.

Both girls and Joe came for dinner, Apparently Andy had to help his mom & dad with some stuff on the farm so didn't make it over.

Also spent the morning helping Carrie set "live traps" as she has a raccoon family living in her crawl space under the house.

Dinner was good, Paul was spoiled...and so was I for mothers day. A beautiful hand painted flamingo wine glass....with a bottle of kiwi/mango wine.
And a starfish necklace. Jeanna got one for all of us from FL, so all we girls have matching necklaces. Carrie gave me a gift card to Barnes' and noble,
and my Tupperware canisters.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie, so sorry to hear about your friend! Sending prayers and ((((((((HUGS))))))))) for all!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Lordy Debbie, there are no words..sending you the biggest armwrap!
Just feel sick to my stomach hearing this news..I'm sure you are all overwhelmed, left cold..so so sorry!

Lord works in mysterious ways..

Baton Rouge, LA

(HUGS) Debbie... I am so very sorry.... I just hate that it happened here in Louisiana...... Horrible....
Hugs for Norm Barb.... glad you checked in...

Happy Mothers Day to all of you... as I know you are all mothering something or another at some point every day... *LOVE*

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy Mothers Day everyone from this someone that you Mother..always there for me when I'm down, when I'm sick, there to enjoy when something wonderful happens..each and everyone of you have a special place in my heart!!

Cold dreary day out there,

I so hope you or family members have something wonderful scheduled into the day that makes you smile!

Don't know that any work outside will happen as rain is just behind the next cloud, disappointing but not the end of the world..few inside projects they can do.

mulege, Mexico

Happy mothers' day, everyone.

I seem to have joined the "up at 4am club." I have a nasty headache which has been with eme off and on for about a week.

Barb, glad to hear Norm will be OK.

Debbie, so sorry to hear about your friend. Sending big hugs and a few tears.

Was up early with my headache yesterday but the morning pain killer really worked and I was able to work with Tony in the new garden for about three hours, laying out paths and plant beds. This is the fun part after all the cleaning and painting tires, hauling rocks, etc and we both had a good time.

In the afternoon neighbor Dana called. Her husband has taken their boat to San diego for repairs and she needed help frosting her hair so I pulled tufts of hair through the cap for an hour or so and we had a good visit as I worked. She emailed me that it came out fine and she's happy and grateful.

I have to deal with liver and fish that I got the other day. Get them into the freezer in dog dinner sized portions.

I introduced Dana to Pinterest and she's hooked.

There's a Cesar Millan marathon on TV today. I'm hoping I'll feel well enough to work. If not, I really enjoy watching him.

Don't know when I'll be ready to head north. I want to see Amma, in LA and possibly in San Ramon but my energy is low.

Have a great day everyone.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Katie, you will undertake any task. Lol. Woman of many talents.
Think you had best pass on visiting with Amman this time, think all those trips last year while feeling poorly almost did you in..rest, I'm sure another opportunity of visiting will come.

Darlene just left, picked up the Memory Tie Quilt I made for Mae, she is off to visit her mom so told her to take it with her, might bring a smile along with a tear.

Darlene is going to Sears after, needs 6 new appliances for her new home, she is excited but overwhelmed as well

Guess I had better go see what I need to get a few snide projects done, wouldn't want the boys to just sit.

Good Morning!!

Happy Mother's Day...
how about a nice big ArmWrap for all.

Barb and Norm, Oh my gosh, what a scare you had. I am so glad it was calcification, that can be removed pretty easily?
I sure hope so, such a good thing Norm is checked so regularly it's caught early. Nonetheless, nerve wracking for sure, Norm...sorry you had to endure the "boob squeeze"
Are you going to have the family over for a visit today?

Debbie, so very sorry to hear of the loss of Zack.
I am sure you are all just beside yourselves with this shocking news...I hope that all will find some comfort today and the days to come.

LOL, no wonder our dh's got along so great, They are both Taurus, my DH's birthday is tomorrow!
Oh gosh, poor Izzy, she looks sooo different with a haircut, i sure hope the medicine wash you have to do will now get into her sores and give her some comfort.
We went to dinner last night too, Sushi, y u c k!! lol but that is what he wanted and fortunatley they serve cooked food too.

Oh Katie, so bummed you had such a bad headache, glad the meds are helping. How fun to visit while helping your friend with her hair, glad she is happy with the outcome. Sounds like you and Tony had a great productive day too, how big is the new garden section? You enjoy some time watching your Maratho n, be nice breaks, lol maybe you'll have a little nap too, and if you get to go see Amma, i hope it is wonderful.

Linda kay, Oh it was so nice to see your Rose Bed and gardens!! I remember when your were painting those Tires, they turned out great!
lol, im now working on getting my garden decor out, little by little getting green house cleared, so we can start to use it right, i am so excited, will show you all in a bit about what...but a small hint, what have i been saying all these years?? ROFLOL, got to love when my kids are bored!
