Morning Everyone..

Lordy, just after 5pm last night the entire town lost power..must have gone back on early morning..took another bath, scrubbed/scrabbed and still I can smell swamp, must be in my nostrils lol, no sooner did I towel myself power went off again so decided to leave for work and brought my curling iron with me and my Janome 9000, taking the old girl in for servicing.

Let's see,

LindaKay when on the farm we had about 30 goats, only thing that broke my heart was when we had to put the heating wand to burn the horns..know it sounds like a terrible thing to do but it saved many a goat as they love bunting. Ontario Hydro would drop off from time to time to bring us the big wire spools, those goats sure loved being up high..I'd go to the pond which was about 6 acres from the house and the few I befriended would follow me..

You just had to say they had border collies right? lol drats I'm missing Sailor as it's time to get out and play.

Thanks for giving Sandy hugs, did she even remember who I was???

Glad you enjoyed your outing, what pretties did you come home with?

Mary, the pond is surrounded by trees thus pond fills with fall leaves, what a mess, besides I like clean water being put through the water feature and yes it is deep..will try this year to close her down early, empty as best I can, lay a couple of tarps to catch the leaves and see if that's an easier process.

Think Mary regardless age and how close/far kids live there always is some type of drama

Debbie, Paul's right, you do need to have a farm so that you can have just as Noah and his arc one of each animal.. as for you breaking out, could very well be the sun..I could feel my hands itching like crazy yesterday, sun was extremely strong. I hate being allergic to it, thank the Lord it's only for about 4 months out of the year..only 1 ray I'm allergic to, rest of the time I can live in the sun. Could be you are just starting , sometimes it's brought on by meds. Actually if I put cream or sun screen on they are worse.

AHHH look at Spencer, isn't he the cutest..of course they all are but Spencer I could cuddle with all day!

Dianne, did you manage to get some sleep in last night? Will you have to break the beaver damns..when on the farm it was a full time job at the pond breaking them down although half of the pond would not have been there had it not been for beavers.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh yes, she did know your name, and she was tickled to get your hug!
Did you see the great Pyrenees in the first picture? They have 3 or 4 of them, they love laying in the pasture with the goats.
This little baby goat still had his umbilical cord, he was so cute!

Good morning everyone...passing through.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Marion!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Marion. Hope all is okay with you....haven't seen you post in a while.

Good morning to you all.

Looks like you had a lovely time LK. At night, goats "mutter" ....sounds like people talking just out of range.

Spenser is a sweetie Debbie. Hope you and Shannon get some solid relief soon.

Hope you all have a beautiful day.

Moon

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie, if your itches are spreading, it sounds like you got into some sort of poison ivy/oak??? Put some calamine lotion on it to dry it up, keep it from spreading.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Marion, are you still at your sisters? How's your mom doing..think of you often!

Jean, are you all rested after your family's visit??

Boss is in this a.m. to meet with clients so no crafting lol but do have a bag filled with white/black blocks for when he leaves..

Taking Paul for chinese as it was his birthday Friday, will drop my Janome off for servicing as the fabric store is only blocks from the restaurant.

Brought a heat wrap, soon time to have Suzanne put it on my shoulders

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

No, Kim came and got me this weekend so I can keep my eye appointment this week. Can't wear my old glasses at all and having bad headaches by not wearing any. I talked with the nurses and was told I needed to keep my appointment...not doing mom any good as it is. It is like a roller coaster ride--up and down, up and down. No one is understanding how she continues as she is eating less than a 1/2 cup of food daily and drinking very little as well. Just guess God isn't ready yet.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Meant to buy some round-up when I was on your side of the border, don't sell it here now, some gmt restriction..back lot line has some, anybody know if it works on poison ivy??

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad that you decided to look after you Marion..very important you look after you!

Know its an odd thing but have you told your mom it's ok to leave (go to the Lord) that you and your sister will look after each other..sometimes they say they just need the ok

Not an easy thing though to broach the subject!

LindaKay, another reason to go to Buffalo lol

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Yes, Betty we have as well as both of my children. She asked for her sister one day and Sue and I got her. She even told mom everyone would be okay. In fact all the close family have then been these past 2 weeks as well as the grand and great grandchildren from her second husband's side have come and all said the same.....we will all be okay.

She's one heck of a strong woman..amazing how they can hold on..wonder if something in her life has been left unfinished?

Good Morning, happy Monday!

Decided to take a few minutes here have some coffee while getting caught up in the threads.
Yikes as usual I'm behind again!!

Barbara, Wow, love the April Totes!! They are so Pretty...Excellent choices Mary, big smile that you took the time to help Barbara spread the love.
You both are awesome.
Barbara, sure enjoy reading about the Grands and their activities. Oh yah, I'll bet they just beam when you and Norm go see them play.

Betty, whew, my gosh you have been whirling around in the gardens, I'm plum tuckered as well, just seeing all you have accomplished...'Course i think you must work in your sleep as well....Awe love that kyle has been visiting. Oh my i hear you on they are growing so fast...What a gtreat way to display the ties, lol a almost ready dresdin, pretty cool.

Debbie, what fun, fun pictures of Spencer, lol looks like all the furries would rather have a nap than play, too cute. Oh good gosh, what the heck did you get into??
Hmmm, have you tried, hand sanitizer? Might help to take the sting away and i hope clear up the rash, sure hope it's not poison anything.

Oh Linda kay, looks like you had a wonderful time at the Round up!! so smiling at the goats and Kid pictures, they are so adorable.
a ton of giggles you ventured out on your own!! So glad you did too, nothing like shopping with the DH, haha, when i go with Steve to menards, i have to look really quick at what i am looking for..He's in and out so fast....Oh and you too Barbara, was so smiling at both your adventures.

Plus it inspired me to do the same, went shopping with Julia, got a few supplies, which ended up being wrong, but they will be of use in some other project...need to go get a matte finish/sealer for my project...This s what i been away working on so hard!! And guess what, I was Just sick yesterday, I mean to the point of tears and throwing up!! In one of the steps, I BROKE, my project...yep Broke, sooo, since it is one heck of snafu, decided to go take my frustration out on weeds!!
While doing that concentrated on how i can fix, so later today, when i am not so shakey...scared to touch it and caffined up, I will perform major surgery. ROFLOL, sigh, i suppose I could just eliminate the piece but It just helps make the whole project!! It's such a silly thing but please send Good thoughts, i can fix it.

Hey, katie so glad you got your van fix at a minimal cost!! Oh and i am so glad Max is calming.

Good morning Marion!! You have been in my thoughts daily...I'm glad your doing ok.
Hope your appointment goes well!!

Oh gosh i got to fly for bit, time to pick up Jake...

...Ohhh, thanks for all the support with him, He won 1st place, in his category in the cooking competition!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Congrats to Jake, he is such an accomplish-er in all he does!
Sending good vibes your way, that you can fix your project. I get so mad at myself when I do things like that!

Jean, I really enjoyed the round up, meeting all the ladies, but being on that huge farm, took me back a few years being on my Grandfathers farm!

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG, congratulations Jacob, yahoo, going to have to make a special trip so he can make me din/din!
ahhh Judy, was it the birdhouse you were making that you broke??
No fun shopping with hubbies..too funny, when I'd say I needed a dress or such Roger would think you walk directly to an aisle and pick 1st dress had to be right color/right size right size then 2 minutes in and out.
Now when we hit a snowmobile/boat/toy shop you'd be there for hours/hours

Lyndonville, NY

Judy, I know you realize how hard it is to win 1st place in cooking! Be VERY proud of that young man! Congrats Jake!

Have a bit of rain here, just dreary, but it is warm.

This was my weekend project, still have a lot to do on it...but it is started.

The long garden was one we "boxed" last year. Two views.

My Memory garden with the new stones edging. Still lots of work to do on all

The wagon is VERY old. wanted to put it to use and put some of my succulents in it, DH can pull it
around the yard so not in the way of his mowing. The children that used that wagon are now grown
and have children of their own. Our neighbor passed away a few years ago, and they put it out to the road.

You have been busy Debbie, maybe we should all have gardens we just roll aside when cutting grass lol Some young child will be eying it in hopes you will let them play with it..can see them shovel in hand waiting to get rid of soil so they can take it on a ride.

What kind of vines are on the far side of the garden box?

Are they perrenials in the memory garden?

Verona, ON

Afternoon everyone! Cold, dreary and it is just starting to spit rain. I'm the one who would like to spit - at the weather. Goodness we can't string 2 nice days together in my area.

Congratulations to Jake!!! So loving the idea of him cooking. When I first met Santa Warren he thought even making a salad was a big mystery and too hard for a mere mortal man. My MIL wouldn't let any of her boys in the kitchen and his first wife made reservations. He loved helping and was a great chopper. Over the years he became quite a good cook and because of arthritis in my hands used to roll the pie crusts. Jake is leaps and bound ahead of SW with his cooking skills and is going to make a name for himself in the culinary field. I just feel it!

(((Marian))) Such a hard thing watching someone die isn't it? Unfortunately too many of us on this thread have experienced that but it also helps us to understand what you are going through. Not to be disrespectful but to quote my dear sweet daddy "She's a tough old bird." The first time I heard dad say that I was aghast. It took me awhile to realize he was paying a compliment to the person. Dad was a man of few words and when he did speak it was worth listening.Hope your eye appointmen goes well.

Aw LK I love Great Pyrennes. I was almost tempted to get one when I got Diesel but then I remembered how I said I was never going to have another white haired animal. When I had Stormy (white GS) and my 2 cats there was literally white hair everywhere. Sort of like confetti!

Debbie I love the wagon. You are doing a great job - its worth all the pain and the itchies.

Well it is offical - Diesel thinks the loons are to be his friends. The loons just don't know it yet. He splashes into the water when they come near the dock or along the shoreline. The loons have a fit and disappear underwater only to surface yards away. Poor pup.... the quizzitive look on his face makes me smile.

How was lunch Betty? Have you been hiding body parts on the way into work all these months? Remains were found over the weekend near a highway where Betty travels probably daily .

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Diane, I don't think you are disrespectful at all......we have been saying something similar.

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, there is a little bit of everything in there. The "vines" are my morning glory vines we are still pulling off from last year.
DH hates them, but I just love them and the color. However, last year went a bit over board and they strangled some of my other plants.

Verona, ON

I'm with you Debbie .... I move MGs. I planted them about 6 years ago down by what used to be my veggie garden and I have never gotten rid of them. Persistent little guys!

Its cold enough here for me to have a fire. My feet are freezing. Although I swear it is a bit warmer outside than it is inside. Weather says it is 56* in Kingston but my deck says 45*. Brrrrr

Victoria Harbour, ON

What is your secret girls, I've tried growing morning glories ever since I've been gardening to no avail..just can't grow them and look at you both, coming up without even seeding this year..I've so many areas that could do with vines..

Joyce and a few girls are coming May 16th, gardens sure won't look like they for the reunion, disappointing for sure!

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I usually soak my seeds on a wet paper towel over night...til they break open a bit. THEN I plant them, just sticking my finger in the soil and covering
and watering. Nature does the rest.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I agree with Debbie, I soak mine in a cup of warm water over night, they will be ready to plant the next day! Some morning glories will drop seed, and grow the next year on their own like Dianne's do!

Victoria Harbour, ON

will try it

time to run..gab when I get home

Verona, ON

Neglect Betty neglect. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All ;

Oh Dianne... can't wait to go see pics of Diesel... I must have missed them.... I think I would like to be likened to a "Tough old bird" one day... maybe not this year... but one day....well... maybe this year would be okay.....

Yes - I'll not want to miss 30 year class reunion ...missed the 20 year because of drama with the girls and their biomom....

It's not much... just a meet and greet and then a way overpriced dinner... (HUGS) To Diesel... too sad his new friends want to run and not play with him LOL.... I do think sometimes Belle never chases squirrels and birds unless she thinks we are looking.... like she thinks we think it's her job to do......
Betty - too funny on Morning Glories... I remember buying packets of seeds with sis when we were little and ....NOTHING... they come up in the yard now and hubs pulls them out like weeds... but those are little flowers... DS's GF (biology major) says one of her professors specializes in them.....
Deb... Benadryl you've surely tried for the itch by now ? Precious Memory Garden... are those irises ?

Marion (HUGS) for you and your Mom.....

Judy - yes Congrats to Jake ! Did he help you growing up cooking? and does he cook for you now? DS enjoys cooking.. wish he would take a class... what did you break?

Moonie... I wrote "Goats" In my notes but I don't remember what I wanted to say... long day I suppose...

(HUGS) to all...
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Benedryl was my first go to Mary! My morning glories have been a hassle. The ones I plant on the south side/front of the
house only come up white. I plant purple, blue or pink...I get white. If I plant them in the back yard....on the fence Betty is talking
about...they come up purple...or whatever...and are like weeds.

I did get them growing up the front of the house (white ones) but they were so pretty on my old "gate" I have leaning there for
decor. DH just hates them growing on the porch rails....which I love. LOL

I don't go to reunions at all. If there was anyone I wanted to keep in contact, I actually still am. And there are a few.
I would just as soon go on a date night with Hubs.

Goats! Oh those babies are so cute...I am sure you want one Mary! lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
Mary, this is Diesel, Hope you don't mind I took your picture from Facebook Dianne!

Thumbnail by taters55
Lyndonville, NY

LOL He is so precoious!

This was Diesel when I first met him last July. He is still a loveable lap puppy!

Thumbnail by DebbiesDaisy
(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Okay, you are making me want a puppy but my old cat doesn't like herself much less getting a "strange" energetic animal to add to the group. He is adorable.

Victoria Harbour, ON

So laughing, look at the size of that pup..omg
How do you hold him Dianne when he wants to go his way?
Guess his way is your way lol LindaKay thank you so very much for posting the photo's

Sharon has American Eskimo dogs being born mid May, tempting but not!

It's a glorious day here, was 59 at 8am but overcast, who knows things might change over next few hours as they do say the sun will be out..tomorrow yikes high of 72, wouldn't it be a grand day to be sick???

Debbie doesn't the acidity have something to do with the color?

We Canadians must not be into school reunions, never heard of one for my school chums, like Debbie think I've kept in contact with anyone I've wanted to so no need to go.

Mary you are so social, you will enjoy all there is to enjoy and a great opportunity to get a bit of rest and walk the ocean..both Debbie and I would love to be there..hmmm how long would it take us to drive Debbie? lol

With Joyce and a few friends coming for a week I've been busy trying to think how to entertain them..this morning I went on-line and booked lunch at the CN Tower360 revolving restaurant (can always cancel if not to their liking) and would spend the afternoon at the CasaLoma

CasaLoma
http://www.casaloma.org/

CN Tower
http://www.cntower.ca/en-CA/Home.html

just to go up the tower is $20.95 but if you go for lunch it's $55 and that includes your admission so not overly bad, well worth the view..when Crissy visited we took a day and went to have lunch

then Joyce will teach hypertufa mushrooms and I will teach them to do a floormat plus a few other adventures sooo lots of fun to be had..

Spoke with my cousin Doug, he might be able to travel from up the islands to pick us up in Honey Harbour and take us on a tour by boat on Georgian Bay

For those of you who came to the reunion, you didn't have much time to play, guess they will not as well..

offer is open to anyone else who would like to join us in a few weeks

Lyndonville, NY

ROFL Marion, I had his entire liter to play with...and fell so in love! Told DH I wanted a little Rottie to go with my "little shih-tzu" (who weighs 95 lbs).
He rolled his eyes at me!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie, Diesel has grown so much since last July! Love the comparison shot!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, you really should live on 'Old McDonalds Farm' you'd fit right in..
of course you'd have to sleep in the barn otherwise all the animals would have to have a bed in the house

Lyndonville, NY

ROFL Oh Betty! I just found a house that is a refurbished barn! wouldn't that be perfect!
It's really not my fault...they follow me home!

Victoria Harbour, ON

think they follow you because of all the treats you drop while walking home

Lyndonville, NY

I would be so insulted by that...if it wasn't true! LOL

BUT I didn't have any treats when the Elk showed up.
