Wouldn't mind Debbie if I could stay home 5 days a week lol
Sun is out but on the cool side.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..
Decided I would take a run into Walmart at 3:00' just coming down the stairs and Noah from up the street was in the yard asking where to start..change of plans, can sew anytime but dont always have a gardener to help me.
I'm always so impressed with this little gaffers work ethics when he decides to come Can't blame him for not coming Wedn and thurs seeing we had snow and rain. Lol
He worked hard and I did as well, can't have a 12 year old beat me at raking
Oooh here is Kyle, be back in a bit
Kyle then Greg right behind, did some measurement and off they go.
Now listen to this..I was up since after 4am, never stopped the entire day, worked from 3 to 6 outside, got the entire secret garden raked and shrubs pruned where necessary, got the top on the gazebo and Greg says " seeing as you sit and do nothing all day, try getting up early tomorrow and organize the shed and I'll make you a ramp to put lawnmower in the shed'" imagine..of course he was joking..Kyle said if I get up any earlier I'd not have to go to bed!
As Greg left he told me he just bought a "spider" of course being a mom I said "Melanie's work is laying off is it a good time to be spending that kind of money" should have known it was none of my business, just thought I'd mention it..he was quick to reply he could be dead tomorrow, not about to worry! I worry, from the time Roger died Greg keeps telling me he will not live past 47 age his dad died..Greg is 44 so ot that many more years..hate it when he says that.
He had a covered trailer, going to get the 4 snow machines and gong to put them not storage. Said he'd be back one night this week to put bottom end and service the Foxy Lady. Don't know how he does it, never stops..said he has to take Kyle and Noah's bedroom furniture to the dump tomorrow and remove carpets, company coming in to set new floors. Can hear Melanie say if you can afford a spider then I can get new floors..know that is what I'd say (big grin)
When he left he told me if I keep it up he and Jeff and family won't have to visit Mothers Day weekend, all the work will be done.
So going back to my little worker, he's quite a boy, told me he was more mature this year so he'd be more responsible .. Asked me where Sailor was, told him I had to put her down, I almost chocked..said ' well when you get old and have aches and pains getting out down is best' ..ohhhh ok, best he not be put in charge of me.
Could see he was getting tired when twice he said 'know what I'm gong to do when I get home, yep going to fnd my wallet'. Guess his way of saying his shift was over.
handed him $30 well earned dollars, told me he would be back Monday, going to his fathers parents for the weekend, some of you may remember this little gaffer lost his dad about 5 years ago..got electrocuted!
I'm thrilled with the progress..around the 2 ponds and the garden with the big frame and raking is done..will try this weekend to take down winter enclosure on back porch, can actually say I feel like I am making headway.
If I get the ponds cleaned next weekend i can sit and watch the flowers grow...ahhh won't be long we'll have leaves open on the trees, that in itself is exciting.
I'm chatty, can always tell when I'm exhausted, I chat, chat and chat.
Going to order something from restaurant next door, have my bath and head for bed.
Hooe you enjoyed your day
Whew Betty ! You're telling me to take it easy... I'm wiped out from reading about YOUR day my friend!
Maybe you have been an inspiration to me.... I just feel as though I just need to work hard for 3-5 years then I'll have as much resting time as I want....Get this business up and going.... pay off the house then maybe I'll finally get to take it easy and tell witchy poo off.... (as if I would do that). Worked since I was 16. I'm tired but if I stop I might not start back up and too much on the line for that.
Greg is too funny. Glad your little protege Noah is back and ready to work.
Oh Barb... Harry Potter was in Universal Studios (SHhh... don't tell Walt Disney I went there and cheated on him) and it was hands down the most fabulous ride I've ever experienced! Albeit the newest. Of Disney properties Epcot is in many ways my favorite...says a lot about Brandon that he loved it because I find it to be the most educational park.... he must love learning. I keep wanting to see your Totes... looking for "my" fat quarters in them. I feel as a part of your project (HUGS)
I hope everyone had a good day. Will try to upload my latest blooms....
Hugs
Mary
Good evvening friends,,
I worked on my curtains off and on all day. They are ready to go up and hang for a while before getting the lining and the bottom hems. I took Dana a mess of fresh beans from my garden and found she, too, has been making curtains - for a place her husband is rehabbing. We agreed we'd rather be gardening or something more fun.
Tony has to go help his parents tomorrow so he won't be back until Monday.
Cooked my biggest pot full of chicken and rice so I should be able to have a lazy weekend. Now that the curtains are done I can do more neatening.
Tomorrow is the 24th birthday of Barbara, Tony's daughter. She was born during the first year that Tony and I knew each other. I had packed a box of children's patterns and fabric for Tony to take home so I said it was a birthday present.
A new mechanic, Marcos, came out today with a helper and began work on my van. He may be back tomorrow. Otherwise, next week.
It's been a rough week in some ways. My left hip has been sore, making it hard to get a good sleep. Nothing real serious but annoying and somewhat depressing. I'm hoping it's one of those localized colds and will pass. My biggest worry is that it continues and I have to consider a hip replacement. I think I already have enough to think about. Chronic pain is just annoying to deal with. Better than bad pain tho so I'll quit my b.....tching.
Everybody have a good weekend.
hugs, katie
Early morning 'hi'
Drats, think when you overwork sleep eludes you! I've watched several shows, now the Arrow, if I don't doze off shortly I will start my day.
Mary those daylilly blooms are spectacular, so want to see blooms in my gardens. worry about you burning out Mary but you've a plan/goal and I'm sure you will achieve it especially with Lance by your side! As for Ms Witchypoo, if you can't tell her we can all do it for you..
Will the girls be home seeing school year soon ending. How's Lance doing restoring the car?
Katie, glad that Tony won't be coming this weekend just so that you give that hip a chance to rest/heal. Are the repairs to the vehicle due to the accident you had?
Glad you got the curtains started, do you line them with sun blocker fabric because of the extreme heat in the summer?
Dianne, are you and Diesel hard at yard work? Have you given up on getting a puppy friend for Diesel?
Bev, what are you up to?
Deb, are you feeling a bit better?
Drats, going to try this sleep thing again..maybe taking a gravol will help
Your day must be filled with sunshine and you are all out working in the yard and enjoying the day. Was at Walmart when it opened, did groceries and picked up thread I needed..remembered Greg wanted me to hand my yard tool and organize the shed so bought hooks and did that, haven't seen him yet but had I not gotten it done rest assured he would have been here.
Did more work on the tie quilt then thought as the sunshine came out why I was inside and not outside so out I went..started to clean dead growth around the pond and thought Lordy wouldn't it be something to get the ponds cleaned..started on the small one and graduated to the big one, emptying them as I come in for lunch..not sure I will get in the pond to clean it out, I always worry I will slip on slime and leaves and hit my head on the rocks so will wait until someone drops in so I can do so or so I think...I already smell of swamp
Yuk, yuk!!
I just got a message on Facebook about why there are no pictures of the bride in her custom dress. Actually, there was one picture but I thought the photographer used a filter of some sort because the custom fabric should have looked like it had quarter-sized fuzzy polka dots on it. Turns out:
"How else can you tell your dressmaker is AMAZING?????? When you panic because you spilled something on the beautiful custom fabric she used to make your dress..... then realize that if you turn your dress inside out the lining looks like a custom white dress. It's like it was her plan all along to make your dress reversible. HAHAHA! Turned my dress inside out and felt beautiful! HAHAHA!"
I had put piping around the neckline and armholes and they were a light blue, as was the zipper, so she looked like she was wearing a white dress with blue piping and a contrasting zipper. That was some quick thinking for a bride under pressure, huh?
Oh my goodness, that was fast thinking..sad though no one got to see the true beauty of the dress..you must to some degree be disappointed? Did you take photo's before you gave it away? It's wonderful though that she didn't let it spoil her day.
Exhausted, what is new?? Managed to put the pumps in the ponds and drain almost all of the water, ugh just sludge in the inner center, don't know of many people who would get into the pond to clean it, if I didn't enjoy the sounds of water feature I'd just fill it back in. Not sure what the weather will be like tomorrow, who knows if I'm an early bird tomorrow i just might get the water back in..got to buy myself hip weighters. Slicker boots just don't do the trick.
Going to put a turkey breast on, peal turnip, have a bath and just relax.
OMG lanakila!!! Two things here - a most amazing seamstress and a quick thinking bride. That is incredible. Both good and sad. Glad the bride didn't let the accident spoil her day and glad you did such a supurb job on her dress.....
Time to rest for a while now Betty. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither were your ponds!!! LOLOL Relax with a good movie.
Norm and I went to Brandon's first horse show of this year today. He did well considering he is riding a new horse and hasn't had a lot of training time with her.
It was good to get out of the house and get the fresh air. Tomorrow we go to Sean's ball game. Hope the weather holds as nice as it has been today.
Meant to get pictures of the latest totes so Mary can see I used her fabrics this time. I'll try to post something by tomorrow.
Off to grab a sandwich-had no lunch!!!1
Barb, is there season for competitions? Bet Brandon looks fabulous all garbed up!
Calling for possible shower tomorrow, maybe it will be late in the day so you can enjoy the game. Can see Norm, proud grandpa (and you of course) just a cheering him on.
keeps parents busy on weekends, remember Roger would ake one and I'd take the other as games always seemed to be scheduled about the same time. Grandparents never showed interest in their activities, of course they didn't live nearby.
This morning on my way to Walmart I followed Kyle into Midland..he and Noah were on their way to work, hit me how they aged so very quickly, driving, working and college.
Look forward to seeing your recent batch of totes.ive about an hour of quilting on the tie quilt and then can add binding and sit and hand so but it likely will not be tonight!
Had a nap, luckily didn't burn the turnip and the turkey breast ready to come out of oven.
It totally amazes me how I seem to be showing my age..plum tuckered out , not like me at all
.
Sadly, I did not take a picture of the bride in her dress. I hope that she'll have it cleaned and wear it to summer weddings and such. It will be a lovely summer dress. I'm dying to hear what and how she spilled and who's bright idea it was to flip it inside out. This is a rare example of why I am so persnickety about quality in my construction. Whew!
Horsies! My sister has a horse who is second only to her awesome husband. She is a hunter-jumper. I love going to horse shows or just hanging out at the barn when I visit her. I know next to nothing about horses, other than to not walk too close behind them. :)
Checked the weather forecast in the middle of the day while I was taking a break from weeding the beds. The rain we were expecting overnight and all day tomorrow has been pushed off for 24 hours so, since that gives me another full day in the garden tomorrow, I went to the garden center to get some more soil amendments. BAD IDEA!!! Way back in the very, very back of the center there was an area of pretty pitiful plants that were marked 50% off. They were last years perennials. Well folks, all perennials look pretty pitiful this time of year, so I scooped up a BUNCH and brought them home. All but one of them was labeled, and the one that wasn't is a clematis of some kind. I'm not picky, so we'll see what comes up! The husband hasn't noticed all the pots yet, so I'm hoping to get them in the ground before he does. :)
Lanakila, now you have me excited about seeing this dress, did you use a pattern? Bet you are going to say its one of a kind that you are a designer as well.how exciting would that be.
My Dil's sister has a horse ranch and teaches equestrian..nice to watch indeed.
Wow, thought I was exhausted then could hear music blaring about 2 miles down the road, aha Kyle is coming to visit. We gabbed for a bit, put heat patch across my shoulders..about 1/2 hour later Kyle thought we should do marshmallows to burn all in the firepit (he died leant eat them) so as the pile of brush was burning we raked and got another bed cleaned, only have far back of the pond and the bed where the 5' frame sits. Hallelulia
Lanikila, checked our weather and like yours they are calling for rain but likely not before evening tomorrow. I'm sure your rescue mission will result in grade a flowers. About 6 years ago I was at Canadian Tire in the fall, they had closed the nursery Nd there sitting in a corner was a foot tall shrub that had seen better days, I asked them why only that one remained, said it got missed and if I wanted it I could take it, well lo and behold its stronger and bigger than any of the healthy shrubs I've purchased over the years.
Was checking shrubs and trees, all fared well this year, I think that my smoke tree has frown a good 3' this winter. Am anxious for it to be a full blown tree, they Re so pretty. The shrub in front of the frame is as tall as the window opening where I hang a planter so I got crazy and cut it down to about 1/2 it's size..did that last year and it grew and grew and grew..maybe not such a good idea.
I'm gradually replacing lilac trees which forms the enclosure to the secret garde, think I need to purchase about 4 more this year..will ask if there is any other shrub that grows rapidly
Once again I'm going to call it a day, kind of wound up so doubtful I will fall asleep..the nap then outside for a few hours has regenerated my energy.
Hello To All;
It was so pretty today.... Hubs and I went out for breakfast...had a lobster brie omelet... trying new things...it was delicious.... all my "to do " list items are inside things so nothing got crossed off today....
actually hoping for rain tomorrow so I can get some things done.... I want to begin learning Quick Books.
Betty - I do believe the girls are staying at their colleges for summer... they both have jobs and found lodging... DSD1 tried out and made the dance team for Northwestern today.... Hubs hasn't had money or time for the Model A unfortunately... he has literally worked the last 2 weekends and nights as well. I don't know how they can work him as they do. What is Gravol ? I might need to buy some for him as he has a hard time getting to sleep some nights....
Thank you Barb for thinking about me in getting the pic ! I believe I'll be a grandparent like you... going to as many activities as possible...
Lana.... I am always on the lookout for clematis.... hubs wants one....
How is everyone else today ?
Hugs
Mary
Hi Everyone,
The mechanic and his helper returned this morning with new and repaired parts. Both worked for another two hours or so. Total bill: less than $200. Including two house calls. My other mechanic Polo is looking for a window to replace the one that got broken. Then we'll be done - for now. The two mechanics that were here yesterday and today repaired some belts and things that went just as I was almost home. I got home safely, thanked God and did not try to drive the van until Tony looked at it. I knew it was one of those Grace of God things that I'd made it home.
Max the Biter has been better. He still gets crazy is awakened from a sound sleep but he is better about being petted where he can't see my hand. He's fine when he can see my hand - throat, sides of face front of shoulders - no problem. If my hand goes where he can't see it he tenses up and jerks back. Not much snapping anymore and, best of all, if my hand goes to the back of his neck and he's uncomfortable he reaches a paw up and pulls my wrist to get me back to his comfort zone. Isn't that a smart dog?
It was hot today and Dana said it's supposed to be 100F. tomorrow. I'm feeling much better with the curtains ready to hand. I will line them with white flannel which will help insulate and reflect sunlight.
Tony picked the first summer squash yesterday. He offered it to me but I said that since he had planted them he got the first one. I settled for a mess of yard long beans and fresh orange juice.
I did a little work in the garden but mostly worked inside today. I want to get stuff organized more neatly and sort out more to give to the women and girls. Have you all heard the term gendercide? I was watching Bill Maher the other day and they talked about it. Frightening stats. Gave me another push to help Barbara and her friends learn to earn their own money. Tony, my friend Saul and Tony's BIL Pepe are such exceptional people I tend to forget that they are not the norm. The culture here discourages women from learning to be self-sufficient. Several years ago I knew a woman who employed several local women. She told me of paying a new worker even though the work was so bad that she knew she couldn't use it. She said the woman started to cry and said it was the first money she had ever earned. Having grown up when women were much discriminated against economically (and having a father who was found by the State Supreme Court to be economically discriminating against female employees) I really hope I can help to make a difference. Between that and changing the way Christmas is celebrated here I have my work cut out for me.
Back to work.
have a good evening all.
hugs, katie
Morning, and what a gorgeous morning at that!
Mary, I'm hoping you don't get rain as you need another day just enjoying yourself and to regenerate.
Model A sat for quite some time so I'm sure it can wait a bit longer, know that Lance is disappointed though!
Ohhh will be a drama free summer for you then having a quiet house.
Gravol helps with nausea, side effect, makes you sleepy..did work the other night.
Katie, you sound happy that the bill was less than $200' now if they can find you a window you will be all set. Are you nervous driving since the accident?
Katie I am so sure you ARE making a difference, the Lord out you there for a purpose and I know you are not disappointing him.
What rewards both you and Tony now enjoy, eating the fruits/veggies from your gardens..well worth all the hard work you both out into them
See that Kyle's jeep is here but no Kyle..there was a dance at the community centre so imagine he was designated driver and his here while he and Greg drove the party'ers home so I'll have another visit from him today.
One learns so much when Kyle visits..Greg gets his Spider on Wednesday, my brother Mike picked his up Friday..my brother Bernie is leaving for Nascar races, Kyle will get his grandparents car and will be selling his jeep, more practical for travelling to college everyday..I could almost write a book. Lol
Well coffee time is over..if I were to have a goal for today it would be to have the ponds up and running, the tie quilt binding on so I can hand sew tomorrow..now let's see if I can achieve it.
LindaKay, anxious to hear how the gathering went and your visit with the kids
Wonder where Susan is up
While typing this novel a reminder popped up, said if I entered it correctly that tubby's passing was 2 years ago..still miss his daily jokes..hugs Shirley.
Debbie, what did you get up to..imagine you are getting same weather as I
Waving to all others
God Bless You Tubby. We still remember and will never forget. Sending good wishes and prayers to Shirley today - just to let her know we miss her and are thinking of her. Tubby's tulip is up but has not put out a bud!!! We had such strange weather here this past year and I'm hoping it is still viable. If not, it will be replaced asap. It is such a special plant to me....
Cool and misty morning here in the Carolinas. I have all the windows open to air out the house before the rain begins this evening. Lovely songs of the towhee singing "drink your tea", scolding Chickadees warning everyone away from their babies, and the occasional quack from the two lovely Mallard ladies that are visiting the pond across the street. Too bad I have to disturb the peace by loading the washer, but I'm pretty sure the neighbors would disapprove if I began gardening in the buff. :)
Lol Lanakila, I just had to take swamp clothes off at back door, had a towel nearby..at my age who would look.. Go for it, give neighbirs something to gossip about this week..lovely watching the mallards..i have had blue herons visit..sure miss the lake..
Turkey sandwiches, not lunch but after cooking a nice meal for myself yesterday i didnt even eat it! Just as well as i now have a no cook day. Am dressed again to attack the big pond, NOT NOT looking forward to doing it but the weather is perfect to take on such a project..will post photo's later of what I have to get into. Nobody would be wrong if they called me swamp lady. I am learning though, I want to raise the water falls so I an hear the sound of water more than last year..have large boulders and slate to hide the alls unit but I could hear you all say ' you are not going to lift those are you sooo it will be on my mothers day work to do list..after all it's only 2 weeks away. I have patience to wait that long don't I?
I have to go and find good rubber boots, that's every year for 3 years I've bought those decorative ones and again thisyear a hole in them..feet soaked..guess Canadian tire trip tomorrow
No baby birds here but I did just put feed out for the blue jays who Re busily watching me and Missy watching them.
Barb, my Tubby bush is in bud, will be late but it will remind me of a friendship I cherish so know how you feel about your Tubby tulip.
Ahhh it's either now to start the big pond or it will wait for another day..know that I'll be mad at myself if I don't get it at least started...
Came in to answer the telephone, Dianne wanted me out for supper, drats not going to be tonight..
Debbie, Debbie , nice photo's, you just don't know how much I needed that, you must have read my mind about wether or not it's with it??
Looking at your pretty photo's I'm going ohhh that is nice , enjoyable place to sit, ok guess its worth my getting into swampland..no more procrastinating
Off I go
Afternoon everyone. Just came in from the endless raking since the sun was getting high in the sky and me of all people forgot to put their sunscreen on.
Betty I will be raking till August if this rain and cold weather keeps up. The neglect these gardens received for the past 2 summers is really showing. I am going to tear down 2 and transplant everything to another huge bed that Santa Warren and I started 4 summers ago and never quite got finished.
Going to try for a nap since I only had 45 min sleep last night and about 2 hours the night before. Was sleeping 5 - 6 hours a night with meds but right now they are not working. Think it has to do more with the time of year.
Anxious to hear how LK's adventure was and see all her goodies.
Mary I just love your Hibiscus!! I gave all of my inside ones away since I felt that was what made Streak so sick last year. Miss them as I love their flower so much. Gravol should work for Lance to help him get to sleep if he is not used to taking anything. They don't do a thing for me but most people feel drowsy after taking them. Hope it works for him as it sounds like he is really working the clock around. Are you breathing a sigh of relief that the 2 girls are probably not coming home for the summer? Lol I just had to ask!
Hey Katie! Glad to hear Max is getting more confident at your touch. How is your knee feeling?
Dianne
Overwhelming isn't it Dianne, I found I had to break yard duty into small components and it helped.
Keep thinking as you work just how proud Santa Warren is of you. No easy task but you are getting it done.
Sure hoped being in sunshine would help
Got to bottom on large pond, didn't the hose pumping up out onto the side yard come off and hit me with the spray..omg did I stink so in I came, bath again, don't think scrubbing with strong soap will take the stench away.
Think last year I broke through tugging the spray unit section on main pump..think I'll stop for awhile as I have about 80% cleaned and see what I can do to fix..if I can't am sure Greg can which would mean not filling pond tonight.
Barb, likely you can make them in your sleep. Lol
Beautiful, you certainly are committed..worries me the number of totes you've made that there are children with 'c'
LOL Betty. I am sorry I couldn't help laughing. Yep I've smelled like swamp before .... felt like I should scrub myself in bleach. Did some more in the yard - didn't nap, sleep wasn't coming. You are right about me breaking it into small sessions. I am petrified the dizzies will come back to haunt me if I get too tired. Woe is me the days when I could work outside from dawn to dusk no longer seem to be here.
Have decided to not get another puppy. This way if I want to go away I can take Diesel with me or get a friend to take him overnight. Although if a cute rescue appears before me I won't turn my back. Actually am considering fostering. Diesel just nees to mature a bit and I am not too anxious for that to happen. Dogs get old too quickly as far as I am concerned.
Debbie I read what you said somewhere about your roses not thriving. I have someone coming to dig out 2 Purple Sand Cherries for the same reason. Used to be able to grow them in Toronto. They just will not grow here even with amended soil.
Totes are lovely Barb. Love the fabric! Hope you and Norm are enjoying some sun today. Wew finally have a day where I can go outside without a coat or rain gear. I'll enjoy it while I can as rain is forecasted for tomorrow.
Dianne
At least it hasn't rained all weekend Dianne..
When you said foster a dog I had to smile, when I took mom to Buffalo she was trekking me Jim heard about a place you rent dogs and then when you can't. Look after them you give them back, shaking my head..someone misunderstood.
Like you Dianne the days of working non stop are behind me.
Think you made the right choice re getting a playmate for Diesel, sure would tie you down.
Lordy I ,ust in yard leaning found about a dozen of Sailors balls..miss the olg. Gal
Sun city but the wind is coming up, made a coffee, rocking on a lounger listing to the waterfalls.i decided if I fill the large pond 1/8 full then pump it out, refill, pump out now that I've the leaves out. It should be clean water abd ready for putting water feature pump in
So funny, wind is strong enough that those metal Canada geese are flying so windy it is
Thanks for the kind words ladies. Yes, Betty, it scares me too about the number of kids with "C". I told the nurses at the station that if there are too many totes at any time to feel free to send extras over to CHAD. Children's Hospital at Dartmouth. It is the number one children's hospital in our state and is connected to Norm's cancer center. Darthmouth Hitchcock is a teaching hospital and the complex is huge. We think of CHAD as the St Jude's of the east coast. It is also home to David's House which is a place for families to stay when they have a child at Dartmouth. Similar to a Ronald McDonald House. I have made crib blankets for them.
Today was a baseball day so Norm and I went to watch. Sean played in two games - won the first, lost the second. I really enjoy going and I know it means a lot to him when we do. Next weekend will be more of the same - horses on Sat and baseball on Sun!!! Soon my two little ones downstate will be having their gymnastics finals and we plan to be there for that too. Grands are wonderful and keep me pushing to stay as active as I can.
Hope you were able to get the swamp smell off! I, too, was laughing Dianne. Not AT you Betty but WITH you... You were laughing right???? Those pictures are beautiful Debbie and it is as I rememered....
Glad you are learning limits Dianne. Slow and easy wins races. I can accomplish a lot as long as I stay within mine. Overdo and I'm no good for anything!!!!
Also glad to hear you are not getting another puppy at this time. I think it could be a bit much for you especially if it turned out to be as strong as Diesel. I can just see two dogs going their own way and you stretched out between them!!! Not pretty......
I'm off to take a nap-this warm country air is doing me in today.....
Drats, not a happy camper, always wear my good glasses on my head, ooops not there and nowhere to be found!!
How blessed we are Barb to have such hospitals at our disposal. Seen many a miracle come out of them re our DG friends.
Fresh air will do that..omg had iPad outside sitting on lounger, went to post and there was a temperature alert, have to remember that.
Letting pump and the spray unit dry then going to try that 6000 glue you all talk about and hope it works as I called Garden Gallery and they said about 3 -4 weeks minimum for replacement part..now why didn't I think of doing that last November when I knew I would need one..not a smart lady..oh well , only means I have to let the glue cure overnight
Of to search the ground again for my glasses..problem is I emptied about 6 whelk barrels of leaves and yukkk, if I don't fine them easily guess I'm going on a hunt them need a nap
oh happy days, found my glassed, checked all over, even in the guck, there on the side of the pond where i climb in and almost fell head first was my glasses
1 large pond
2 smaller pond up and running, watwe falls needs to be tweeked
3 canada geese in flight with the winds
4 g;ad the birdbath fit
DEBBIE, Missy wasn't much help

Hello To All !
Come on back everyone.... we are here !
Betty - I was asked yesterday if we don't drain our pond every year (we don't) do you have to drain and clean yours because it is so big ? Or perhaps because it gets frozen. It did rain most of the day but I didn't get as much done as I wanted. Loaded Quickbooks but didn't play with as much as I wanted to.
Yes Hubs has been working crazy hours. Too funny Betty & Dianne... yes the drama exists still but is easier to handle miles away :o)....
Fostering might be an idea Dianne... get Diesel used to different doggy personalities... I've thought about fostering too... just not a good time right now...
(HUGS) TO Shirley and Tubby today.... Thank you Betty for remembering...
BARB - you just don't know how special that is to me to see those familiar fabrics... I never found a lot to choose from... but what I did find it seems I spent a LOT of time deciding.... need some for girls, some for boys... harder to find the boys prints.... I began of course looking for Disney prints but couldn't find those anywhere...
Bless you for thinking of those little ones with "c".
That said... Debbie hope you are taking care of yourself... Wanted to comment that you needed some vitamin "SEA" saw that somewhere... I do feel that way at times.
Katie - wow that is hot. I do love squash... we just have one little green tomato so far but everything looks full of buds....what an incredible time of year seeing something new each day....
Will allow myself to use 1 vaca day this year for 30 year HS Class reunion June 28th.... at Fort Walton Beach of course.... so will get some time in staring at the waves which is one of the few times I can relax.....3 day weekend.
(HUGS) all
Mary
Oh Mary, I need "Vitamin SEA" very badly! Even posted an ocean shot on my FB tonight.
I am just so worn out with all this drama and non stop chaos here.
I did spend most of the day out in the yard again, got myself into something my skin didn't like. Not sure if it
was a plant or if it was sunshine! Little blisters on the tops of several fingers that itch like crazy. SHowered and
put some cream on them.
Made a pulled pork roast for dinner with BBQ and some potato salad. It was so good!
A couple funny pics I took today. I hope they make you smile. Take a look at Spencer (Bunny)
he is givng us the "raspberry".
Debbie
Hey ladies, I am home. I got home about 10:00 this morning, and just crashed. here are a few pictures of the round up. Betty, Sandy is the lady at the end of the fence in the purple tie dye shirt. I gave her lots of hugs from you! She was watching Joy/Rouxcrew feed her donkeys. Ladies sitting and eating, and last picture some of us got to feed baby goats!
OH Debbie and LK ! Those pics SO SO precious ! Thank goodness Debbie was not at that round up or they'd be missing a Goat or two come today !
Debbie... Spencer is a little ball of personality... too funny... those pics look like the ones you see posted.....
You need to start "Happy Bunny" pics... and make a million... as opposed to grumpy cat LOL....
LK making me wish I hadn't missed "our" swap..... but it's over now.... just need to watch the plants grow...
Hugs
Mary
Oh my gosh! Look at those babies! I laughed right out loud as DH sent me a picture of a house to look at today and
I said "The yard is too small, where would I put my goats!" (we don't have any...yet). He rolled his eyes at me!
That looks like so much fun LindaKay!
Oh LK it sure looks like you had a good time. Bet you were tired after all the 'doings'.
Yes Barb I was laughing and also really had that swamp smell waft over me. Poor Betty will imagine she has the swamp stink on her all week. I've been there so I know of what I speak.
If you didn't see there were 3 pics posted of Diesel on my FB page. A friend visited and took some pics of my handsome boy. He spent the day outside with me today. He does not like for me to get out of his sight so I really have no worry of him bolting too far. Even when he chases a rabbit he keeps looking over his shoulder to see where I am. He's zonked tonight so obviously all that fresh air has hit him. Too bad it doesn't have the same effect on me. Looks like little or no sleep for me again tonight.
There's our Miss Izzy. i just love that little girl. Please give her a hug from me Debbie. I see Spencer as a dapper guy. How are the itchies tonight?
Mary I am so glad you are going to go to your reunion. No hesitancy this year, right? Lance going to be able to join you?
that Missy acts so much like my Streak and Sassy - can't count on them for help. The watch and supervise but no help at all. Today the 2 of them were at the locked screen door standing right up watching Diesel and I outside. They both had a lot to say about we were doing.
Declaring outright war on the beaver tomorrow!!
Sleep tight everyone. Hope each of you has an hours sleep for me so I will feel rested tomorrow.
Morning everyone! Sure hope you got some sleep Dianne!
I loved seeing her farm, and all the animals, she had baby goats, sheep, ducks, and geese. Oh, and baby border collies!
Good morning,
Dianne, the itches kept me up most of the night. They have "migrated" and I don't know why or what they are. My thumb is still the worst area
on top of the knuckle. I had long pants, long sleeves on out there, but having it on my thigh is not comfortable!
LindaKay I would have had a ball there with all the animals and pups! I just love animals. Miss going over to Andy's (SIL) farm this time of year
to see the baby cows. Not that easy for me to navigate the electric fences and pathways right now.
