Dianne - what a week for you - I feel for your pain..
Weather's really picking up finally! it's 7c now and going to 15c, but knowing Calgary it will be higher than that
Judy - thanks :-) You have a son Bob? too funny - how many of us have BOBs in their lives? I find it's a very common name here - I have about 5 in my life, including a BIL lol
sounds like Jake is doing very well
Betty - did you get a good sleep?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
Dianne, yes I have 2 granddaughters, Kailey will be 14 this fall, and Maryanne will be 7. She would love those clips too!
Sending you big (((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) Dianne, as you go through all those memories!
Betty, please don't over do it in the gardens today, let little Noah do most of the work please?
Betty, we had a cold front come through yesterday morning, and it is only 47 right now. Nice and cool! Tomorrow it is supposed to start warming up to the low 80's, then next week back to the 90's.

Up until MondayI could live with LindaKay, to you I'm sure you would feel cold...
How are your gardens fairing? You do a lot of planters right? Do the girls live nearby?

Gee whiz, Missy is outside and does nothing but cry..checked her out, not hurting, she just is moaning away..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

All my flowers are in raised beds or pots. The soil we have her is caliche, and it is like concrete. You literally need a jack hammer to get through it, and when it rains, it is like a heavy clay, it absorbs very little water. So far my roses are blooming, and I just planted a bunch of morning glories last week, waiting for them to pop up. I have a few bougainvillea starting to bloom. Oh, I also planted a bunch of sunflowers this year, just for the fun of it, also the birds will have free food when they bloom! They are about 4 inches tall right now.

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, could she have a urinary issue? Those are so painful. Or perhaps she is calling Riley?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just imagining their beauty! ,makes life easier having raised beds I'm sure.
Soon I will be looking for 3 feet high beds. Lol

I never do well with either mornimg glories air sunflowers..have many pots /hanging baskets left from last years gardening..thought I would go look at what seeds I have, plant them and at night put the pots between the downstairs entry at night so they don't freeze..perhaps I'll get a crop that way.

bougainvillea are beautiful but can't grow them here,,spring shrubs might be in bloom for when Joyce visits week of May 16th. Hoping anyway! Forsythia habe blooms, at least a few of them do. Not so sure that the church plant sale isn't tomorrow, have to check, would love to purchase a few more hosta and some phlox.

I've been walking th yard and making note of projects I want done next weekend when the boys come..

Drats, keep blaming Missy for crying, went out and it's a giant size white cat, unkept, maybe looking for food. He/she slept on my settee and back deck a few weeks ago and ended up when I came out to scratch and claw till she got out the screen door, now I've a screen to fix..I'll go set food out but will do it next door neat the bushes so I don't end up with another cat!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Deb, we cross posted, think she is just hungry..off to feed him/her

Victoria Harbour, ON

put food out, then Riley was moaning as well, maybe something is around here that shouldn't be..

sat on back porch and thought I'd take the plastic down, always nice in the evening to sit out when the skitters decide to come out..not heavy work, just plastic..will wash ornaments and sweep then sit out with a book as the afternoon progresses..note to self, must buy stronger screen to fix area were stray cats think they've a right to be and claw them to bits

Tony is hanging up some of the laundry from yesterday as I overdid a bit. He is such a gift for me. An ever-calm ppresence who helps with whatever needs to be done. I thank God very day for my life here.

Was remembering the first year Tony worked for me. He began in the fall so at Christmas we still didn't know each other very well. Christmas Eve is the big celebration day here. Employers usually have the workers come in the morning, give them a bonus and then send them home. I decided to do this the day before Christmas Eve and told Tony that he could have all of Christmas Eve off. He thought a bit and then said, "I'd rather have Christmas off." I about died laughing as I said, "Tony, of course you have Christmas off." He realized I was not laughing at him but at the idea of coming to work on Christmas. It still makes me laugh. He was being so careful not to offend me. He's worked for a couple of short-tempered people. We have NEVER fought which I think still amazes both of us. Never gotten mad at each other (or at least never gone off on each other). We speak different languagese and communicate better than most.

I have a couple of brugs blooming. The jasmine is almost done. Picking the last of the citrus and watching the little fruit on the citrus and the pomegranite start to grow. It's warming up here. Mornings are still cool. I have some cherry tomatoes coming and should get some before the really hot weather sets in.

Amma will be in San Ramon (near San Francisco) in early June, then a few days in LA. I'd like to go to San Ramon but will have to see how time/energy/money/ and doctor's appointments are.

The curtains are up!!!!! Later I will take the front bedroom curtains down to line and hem them but not for a while. It's a huge difference not just for the house but for the way I feel about it. Like I'm really living here and can move on to other crafts and organization. After I rest a bit.

Love the hair bows. We all do manage to keep busy, don't we?

hugs, katie

Diane, thinking of you as I accepted that I did a bit more than I should have yesterday. Take care of yourself; the difficult memories can make us vulnerable.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

you see the resemblance? I don't...... thought I looked more like my dad. I guess, coming from both of them, that I look a little bit like them both lol

See Missy on this quilt, but Riley was on the other one?!?! Didn't think he got into/onto your quilts lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Missy is on the chesterfield....wether it's a completed quilt or one I'm working on they know how to make themselves at home..they sure love comfort!

Once lawn furniture is under gazebo, they love to snuggle up outside and enjoy the breeze..

We do spoil our furries.

Been a good girl, resting with the furries, wish I hadn't made appt for perm tonight, much too comfy just sitting here.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

She sure looks comfy! Betty, reschedule your perm appointment for another time?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh, btw - the chair is one of those that raise her up to get up. She had it at her house, and the cat really "did a # on it" to the point where it needed to be repaired. Stan didn't care. cuz he figured she never got out of it and that annoyed him greatly. Alice & Ruth got it fixed and that's why it's looking this good.
She doesn't "live" in it anymore, as she gets out to go around Thorvaldson's and is a lot more active.
She not only goes to the crib games, but she's involved in the exercise class every afternoon.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good for her! Glad to hear your Sisters got the chair fixed!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Back home with curls. Lol

Most elderly enjoy the time spent doing activities with people their own age..glad she is involved!

Speaking of parents, how is your dad doing LindaKay?

Noah has not come to do the last of the raking, big sigh, guess it will be left to me

Going to sit ur and enjoy this absolutely gorgeous day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

oh thee of little faith

Noah brought a friend and worked about 1 1/2 hrs..water is in the large pond, lawn furniture under gazebo and all gardens raked!

Not sure Noah understood the concept, yes he got done what was suppose to be $30 worth but because a friend helped it means you divide it in two and get $15.00 each. lol

Betty, Missy is setting a good example for you. Now you just need to follow her!

I'm in a frog swap and received items from my buddy today. Little Kitty approved.

Oh what a pretty girl! Is her name Little Kitty?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear your helper showed up with a friend Betty!
Little kitty is so pretty! I think all kitties love boxes!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lanakila your photo reminds me of Christmas's past when you purchased THE special gift for the kids and they played with the boxes and tissue. Lol. What a pretty kitty she is.

Doing the happy dance, I can start to see the end of winter cleanup and I feel so good about it..

I gave work and resting equal amount of time! Did my 1st cut with ridding lawnmower, think once I learn the twists and turns it will be easier for me.

Spending Friday night in a hot bath and a quiet night, what ever happened to going out and enjoying oneself? Old age right?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Greg just dropped in to show me his 'spider', boys and their toys.. asked him where I could go to get my permit to drive one, after all, I always share my toys so he'd best share his.
He says, mom, need my saw to cut flooring tomorrow and I think it's here..goes downstairs and says yep there it is..oh no my boy, that is not your saw that is mine..yours is the older one over there..he loves my tools. other day he called me at work wanted my air stapler..asked him what was wrong with the one I gave him for Christmas..he'd forgotten I gave him one
got to watch my tools

said Kyle had his wisdom teeth out so he had to head back as Kyle wasnt feeling the best.

drats, what he did ask me was had i heard Kyle was in a car accident with Melanie's car..$7K worth of damage..guess both insurances go up..lucky boy.

Greg says he thinks he fell asleep at the wheel, Kyle said no steering..the car repair said lots of shearing near steering but think it was because of what he hit ... I truly don't think Kyle should be driving..

Feel better Mary, I hope tomorrow turns out nice for your MIL.

DH is working all weekend and I will be busy taking care of Izzy.
She is on meds again and needs a special bath for her skin.

Shannon works tomorrow so I will get some "me" time with my music on, radio blaring
and fighting dust bunnies! LOL

Betty, I think you might be right about Kyle. BUT his parents have to handle that one.
Maybe this will be a wake up call for them. I hope no one was hurt at all.

Waving good night to all. I am usally a Midnight Owl....but going to go crawl in my beddy bye basket!
