marion, it's apple cider vinegar. works very well on sunburn
Sweet Interruptions # 255
Thanks all...that is what I have been using. Feeds much better but just a bit on the cherry red side. Oh well, maybe I will have a little color this year. I am not a sun tanning person because I do burn easily. Just didn't realize how much I was getting yesterday. I will survive!
I got a call from my Dr's office - my MRI is scheduled for May 9th at 7am, so need to be there for 6:30.
It was going to be on May 23rd, but as it's marked "Semi-urgent" they "bumped it up" a couple of weeks.
Thank you for the birthday pic of cats, Jaye! So cute/funny!!!
Glad to hear they moved you up a bit!
yuppers, and it won't take a year to get an app't either!!
Take all the time tou need Sue, sending you lots of (((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))
How are Tim, Savannah and Austin dealing with this?
I got lost some where along the way. Guess I didn't put "watch" on this thread when it went to a new room.
Met a woman today in the thrift store that is a crafter. I was talking to my friend and told her to use E-6000 glue and this woman said she has been using it for years. She has made glass totems for craft shows and has some in her garden she made 10 years ago and glue is still holding up. I sure would love to see some of her crafts. Don't think she belongs to DG or any of the other craft web sites. Have to talk to he more next time I see her. She manages to come every Monday. Learned about it in the T to T forum and I tell everyone how great it works. Can't buy any more "treasures" until I work with the ones I got.
It got up to 80 again today after a few days of chilly weather. Never know how to dress each day. Glad I don't have snow to deal with.
Morning Pegi, sure hope you were not affected by the earthquakes yesterday?
Do that Gloria Gaynor twirl, Marion!! Seeing you twisting your hips and waving your hands to "I will Survive"!
Thought you'd like that A'catapella, Susan!! Lolol. Not too much of a cat'astrophe, eh? Happy that your MRI is moved up. And YAY for socialized medicine that won't cost much neither.
Pegi, that's what Kel believes in too. He has tubes laying around in his workshop and won't hesitate to recommend it to me if I need something non-porous bonded fast.
I'd love to bring out the plants, but it's still too soon even though we're in the low 70s now. April's been known to be tricky here.
This group of sistahs do feel your sadness Sue. Can't tell you what have already been told by so many well meaning friends and family. But I can ask for some physical actions from you. Hug Tim and the twins real tight please. That's us giving you hugs.
Hey LK. Did you go all the way with your shopping? Bought accessories to go with the outfits? Long dangling earrings and beads will give you a boho look in that skirt. A gypsy flair in spring. Be perfect for a pair of very dressy sandals too.
Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone.
Going out today to look for shoes or sandals, I think I have beads, if not I will pick them up too. Also getting my hair trimmed today.
Wooohoooo... LK! You're already one beautiful woman!! You'll be ready for a pro-photo shoot!
Thanks Jaye, I wish I looked like a model for a photo shoot! !
Good Lord!! You're a very lovely, happy and healthy real life woman!! Who wants to look at sickly 'models'.. not me for sure!
No, not sickly model, more like Marilyn Monroe maybe would be nice!
Well then, when I was small, I was wishing for a Jayne Mansfield body.
But I didn't know that He would give me too much of her top.. not any of her height, nor her waistline neither!!!
You're prettier than Marilyn, Sis.
Thanks Jaye. Guess we have to be happy with what we have?
Sue, sending a gentle hug for you and family. I am there with you in spirit.
Now Jaye, you don't want to see me "swishing" my hips. You would be ovecome with hysterical laughter!
Without a doubt, sistah. without a doubt, LK.
Have you selected a pattern for your birdhouse block yet? I'm toying with a few. But at least I've decided what fabric to use for the 'lumber' and roofing!
I promise I won't laugh AT you Marion!! I'll laugh along WITH you!!
Okay. Laughing along with me is great, laughing at me...well let's just say not nice. :-)
Not sure who you addressed the question about birdhouse blocks but yes, I have found my patterns and have put some fabrics aside for them.
Mine will be so easy, just hope the ones in my group won't be disappointed, Marion.
In the words of Catie-Beth:"Seriously now". Who would ever be disappointed in any work you do Jaye? Comeon'
I agree with Marion, Jaye - m'thinks you worry too much :-)
I have been buying fabric for the birdhouse blocks, but I can't find and lumber fabric here. I will have to see what I can find online. I think I will try to do different ones, not for sure yet on the patterns.
Ladies have you seen this ladies work on Facebook? She is awesome. She draws out her pattern on a huge piece of fabric, then she colors it with paint, then puts it on her longarm and does some quilting, then does a lot by hand!
https://www.facebook.com/cathy.v.wiggins Search for Cathy Vandiford Wiggins.
The drawing, then the painting, and a close up.
CB I need you to keep telling me that!
Yes Susan, I tend to overthink too much and I'm cursed with this!! Lol!!
Kel just returned from a long doctor's appt., his dad's. He left the house at 8 this morning.
And in another hour's time, he's off to work.
Please continue with prayers for him and Lola sistahs.
HUGGGGGGGGS!
Beautiful work LK!
Her work should appear in all magazines!
Sending prayers Jaye, Kel need to take a nap sometime soon!
How is Lola doing, she will have her surgery soon?
((((((((((((((((((Kel)))))))))))))))))))
Jaye - did you do the thing I asked of you? That one small favour......
LK, that's the problem. He's been taking 2-3 hr. naps which isn't enough for a 13 hr. night stint.
And to compensate for his tiredness, he 'junks' at work to stay awake. Mind you, I make sure he packs good carbos, but that vending machines tempt him more.
The surgery is still set for Thursday. I'm glad it's moved up. Lola's appetite yoyo and I am trying not to smother her too much. The other furkitties have been leaving her alone.. so that's a good thing for her nerves!
Yes Susan, I did. Told him what it's for. He says he's glad that someone's on his side!!
Just got through watching "The Taste". Happy that the chef I rooted for since the beginning won.
We need more fantastic women chefs.
Good night sistahs. Sue, if you're lurking, be kind to yourself, please.
LOL "someone's on his side"????? I ain't on No one's side....... just all of God's chillen!!
I love you both! Sometimes you both need a "time out", but I still loves ya!!
Morning sistahs.
Gonna play outside for a while.. raking.. cleaning. No weeding.. maybe let Lola chase the outside cats!
See you all later!
I had a long conversation with my sister Alice, in Winnipeg, about my Mom........
After the fiasco last fall when they (3 sisters and 1 brother) took our Mom to a few Senior's Residences and my Mom was too frail to live there, and she's not ready for a Care Home, they've found what they call an Intermediate Personal Care Home - only one in Manitoba. http://www.thorcare.ca/
There are 65 rooms, so it's nice and cozy. The Administrator will hold a room for Mom, but they have to know by Monday. They haven't mentioned anything to Mom yet, because of the disappointment last fall, so (and here's the tricky part) they will have a meeting with the 4 siblings, and get the paperwork done, and if she's accepted, THEN they'll have one of them tell her. Not all at once, because she'd feel "ganged up on", and not sure which one would tell her. I SO wish I were there to talk to her too............
Anyway, we're keeping it among the siblings, and I've been asked not to even tell my daughter.
Once she's been accepted, then she would be able to move quite quickly - the bed sitting room would be having rent paid, so she may as well move in as soon as possible.
At first my brother (whom she lives with now) was saying it was mostly HIS decision, but my sister Ruth said "She's OUR mother, not just yours" and that shut him up! He was prepared not to like the place, but then he saw it on Monday and, according to the Administrator he's "totally turned around and is in favour of it". Especially when he heard they play Cribbage every day LOL
Happy Belated Birthday Susan! Hope it was a happy one!
Okay, Sissy filled me in, I'm planning on being there if the date doesn't have a conflict. Looks like our Sue is going to try to go with me! Hope you're doing okay, sistah....
It was, Thank you Joyce :-)
Not an easy decision to make to put your parent in a home, hope it goes well for them !
Hi girls! Just popped in to say Hi and thank you all for thinking about me. I want to thank Heavenscape for her gift.
Hello Ladies,
just checking in.............not in a chatty mood too many depressing things going on right now. I am over the crud but still have a small cough.
