Sweet Interruptions # 255

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Yes Marion - why not let Kim drive? She's on Spring break too, right?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

marion is right, she is starting to bag which meas she is going to goive birth soon, so I had to put her in the barn cuz it's too cold out side for a baby. this is the coldest I can ever remember it being thid time of year.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

No,Kim isn't have Spring break until sometime in April....I think that is right. I will have to check her schedule.

Yes, the knee is better but I will eventually have to have a cleaning out as the doc said my mansicus(?) is shredded. As long as the gel I put on 3 times daily is working, along with the exercises, he wants to continue. I agree as surgery will always be there when nothing else works. I will manage to work this trip out one way or another.......just give me time. :-)

Jaye, I miss you also and I haven't forgotten about sending the quilt magazines. You might regret what you asked for. LOL!!!!!!!! I just have to finish boxing some of them.

I need to have some responses about the "Sistahs Gathering". I have been dmailing with Kathy but she is absolutely in no position to change with me......I know Kathy, you said you are fine but................................

Therefore I am wondering: If I have it in early fall, would that effect anyone's plans? I do need feed back so I can figure out where I am going from now.

Well for those doubters.....I was raised on a farm....see :-).

Marion, how about scrapping it totally and maybe you could host it in 2015?
Just a thought there.
We'd all have enough time to save extra $$$ for the reunion at Sue's and yours.

we got this much snow last night
Kathy so sorry to hear you have a house full of sick kids. bless your heart dear friend. Hope you don't get it. sounds like your busy and just take a breath every once n awhile. thnkng of you dear.
Jaye that sounds good yumm
glad you can drive agan marion but yes that would make a long trip to have to stop every hour ?

Jaye, that worries me that it might fall apart. I am so upset that things have turned out the way they have but who can foresee the future? I certainly didn't plan on a fall that would throw everything out of kilter, nor the inability to see mom very much for the past 6 months.

Let's see what other feed back we have and go from there. Of course, my back door (front is for guest) is always open if someone just wants to take a trip!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, DON'T jinx me sistah!!! I don't want that snow.. am already enjoying Spring here.
I changed my mind on curry. Instead, I did a dry rub on a a roast, and baked the caulis along with it. I use the packaged "Memphis BBQ" by McCormick. Love the flavor.
Kel would have something meaty for work.. and I can have my veges!

Marion, seems God is telling you not to plan for anything this year. Take that hint sistah. You don't need extra worries. Again, your health comes first, and then you're already saddled with worries on your dear mom.

2015 will be fine for me. We'll just be a couple of years 'younger' :D

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion, Jaye is right, you need to get that knee taken care of, 2015 sounds good to me. I don't see how Kathy can have the gathering with her in the process of moving?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I guess 2014 is out of the picture?
I agree with everyone else - take care of that knee, and your mom - you have enough to worry about with that..... "raised on a farm" does not mean you can withstand Everything......

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue had offered 2014, Susan.
Phew.. for a while there I thought I'm one year ahead of others!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

No, it just happens to mean I understood what Kathy was saying. I don't know being raised on a farm with no brothers around, does tend to make one pretty tough with some things.

The knee is doing much, much better. No cure but then again it has had almost 73 years of hard wear and tear!!! I am just lucky it wasn't developing to a knee replacement......this will be simple in comparison.

Sue, keep the snow, please.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LOL okay, Jaye....... NOW I'm straight...... lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I think Sue may have sent some of her snow to me........ blech!! Don't go doing that again, y'hear me, young lady?!?! (putting a Very Stern Look on my face) lol

i would offer to switch years but my basement is still under construction . Though i could use a sistah gathering :) or a road trip.

sowwy susan :(

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

lol good - take the message to heart, Sue!! 20 cm of snow has been literally straining some people's backs........... I personally know of two that pulled muscles - our Pastor is one, and he just got back to work today (pulled it on Sunday after church). Hooray for muscle relaxers, eh? :-)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I heard on the news, that some of the eastern states could get up to 2 feet of snow this afternoon! Sure hope that does not happen!

LOL don't worry Susan i know you were just kidding :) hope your pastor back feels better soon.
cooked cauliflower today and i think i m done with it for awhile . over dose fer sure.
had kids and dog out again for some good excersise. me too LOL walked the dog in the snow some parts was knee deep

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Sue, how does one every get done with cauliflower.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You didn't tell me that I can get tired of caulis Sue!!
last time I bought a head was more than 6 months ago, maybe I'm eating them with gusto now!
That's what I just had. Roast caulis with sprouted seeds bread. Poor Lola might need a mask :D

It's very windy out there. Thought I'd spend some time in the sun, but the wind turns me back to the house.
Marion, LK.. guess we could give thanks for the rain or dry weather instead of Sue's and Susan's snow.

Made a lot of booboos with my blocks. Guess my mind's not up to sewing.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I agree, as much as we need the rain, I don't want that white stuff here. There are no snow plows or salt trucks here, so when we do get snow, everything comes to a screeching halt!

Please tell me what is a cauliflower steak?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cut the middle part of a cauliflower head right through.. about 1 and a half to 2". That's a cauliflower steak.
Be careful, some florets will come off.

Same here too LK. No such mechanical helpers to help with the snow.
We have to ask our cousins up further north about 2 hrs. drive to loan their equipment and drivers.
In your case, your town can't ask anyone within close driving distance for help.

4 days n a row of caulis s enough for me. LOL
next is mexican casserole vegan style and tortilla soup.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

I told maid m., and now I will tell y'all, I am not decrepid and will have the gathering at my new home.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh my..... guess you done told Them, huh?!?! LOL

6:53 am, and was taking my coat off, after giving Bob a ride to work on the other site of the city, through the 2nd busiest part of the City............ and it's snowing again. Not happy-making........
Hope they finish up there, and go to work downtown...... it's much clearer there. Plus, it's just strarting to lighten up, so it was pitch dark when I was driving. I don't like driving in the dark when it's snowy/slippery and morning rush hour.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

I don't like driving in the dark or the rain. on my way to wally world. ta ta

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

ah yes....... good ole Wally World. I go there 2-3 times a week. My Bob LOVES shopping there. Who am I fooling...... he loves shopping - whether it's to finally GET something, or window shopping, he loves it!! Who am I fooling........ he loves to BUY! lol

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Okay, okay! I never said you were decriped .......long ways from it. I just didn't want to impose any more on you with the children and moving. However, I will humbly bow to your gracious offer! :-) Not date had been set so far so it is all your call my dear.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

ok, got sara a whole jordach wardrobe for spring including matching jean jackets, and kaden a cute outfit for picture day tomorrow.
as soon as I get a clearer I dea of when we are moving I will set a date. my tile should be here next week, and that is michaels weekend home. hoping to get down there and get the walls washed and carpets shampooed next week. gotta start packing sometime. last time I moved I packed as the movers were taking the furniture, it took 2 weeks for me to finish.
I have to dig up plants 2, but that's not a problem.
if'n y'all have any food requests y'all let me know.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Afternoon sistahs.
I shan't remain here long.. need to stay in my corner and contemplate.
In the meantime, I'll be reading. My mind's too ****ed up to to think of anything. Maybe I'm too self absorbed?

Please say a prayer for Kelvin.
I released FIL and MIL to our Lord. It's easily done when I don't see them. But I'm living with Kel and whatever affects him, affects me.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you got some nice outfits for the kids, I am sure they appreciate it.

Jaye, what is going on? Sounds like you need a few (((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) and prayers!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

We are here for you Jaye...Always.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Nothing that a good swift kick to someone's butt might help....oops, sorry Jaye. Yes, we are here and please, please take care.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Jaye's feeling a little (actually, she's so right to feel it too!) put upon by her MIL..... you basically know the story, but it's never ending with her MIL......
Jaye - you're a wise woman being pushed to her limits to love All of God's children. Just remember, you're human, and we can't all be like Jesus (oh, ok, maybe Mother Theresa can be, but we'd find it tough to be like HER too! After all, she was given a sainthood, wasn't she?).
I will pray for Kel. He needs to know that his mother isn't being very Christian - and her married to a (retired) preacher!!

sending you all love and hugs

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thank you very much my sistahs.
Susan, when you called yesterday, I was almost at my boiling point. The laughter and talk calmed me somewhat.
Then this morning, without any warning, he came home just to change into clean clothes to take his father to the orthopedic for his 8.30 a.m appt out of town.
This man then, with hardly any rest, is set to return to a 13 hour shift again @ 5.00 p.m.
I can go on to complain more, but all I can say is this.. if nothing changes by the way they treat Kel, I pray for the Lord to show him some mercy.
Seriously, I think they want their son dead if they can't remove me.

My sewing today is much better. A few mistakes and especially after sistah Judy's phone visit.. I'm feeling much better. Could be too that you all have been sending prayers for Kel and me.

Sistah Kathy, sorry.. am not ignoring you. You make a terrific grandma for sure!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

sis jaye, you better come see me before you have an aneurism.
Michael is trying to come home this weekend even though it isn't his weekend home. really could use his help.
still having headachs, and don't think i'll ever get muffin man house trained, let alone ready for west minister abby

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I agree, you need to get away for a bit!

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready, and there is a fresh bottle of bailey's if you need a kick starter! :)

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

ABOTTLE OF EXCEDRIN MIGRAIN AND A QUART OF ICED COFFEE WILL DO ME FINE LK.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lol, LK, just hand over the whole coffee pot to Sis Kathy there!!

Morning all!
Well Kel had to show his true colors this morning, and it's his fault too!
A few nights ago, I noticed a hard cyst on Lola's jaw. Told Kel that she had to see the vet.
Couldn't do it yesterday, but this morning, I FORCED him to bring us to the vet.
He was so upset, saying I'm inconsiderate as he had not any sleep for 30 hrs.... blah.. blah....
1. My truck is supposed to be picked up today for repairs.
2. I cannot drive his truck by myself, in case it die on me.
3. He can sleep in the truck while I drive, and he don't have to go in the office with us.
Need I mention how upset I am? Not really.. I just laugh. He never fuss when MIL refused to arrange appointments during his day offs.
And this is very important to me. Lola is my family here, and as far as I'm concern, Kel can fuss all he wants after the big betrayal.

Ok.. think I'll have a perfect day today. Hope all my sistahs don't keep their anger bottled up too long, like me.
