very very foggy this morning going to wait till the fog lifts before i try to go into town fora few last minute food items
COFFEE" Cat food & Bird Food , Jim is fixing the ham & Other fixings & I'm baking a Pumpkin Pie & My Yams No one else will eat them so they are all mine :))))

70's here today, wish it was going to be that warrm on turkey day but I hear we are getting cold tonight. It is like summer out. We are going to eat lunch on a patio somewhere or at the park. Course I won't want to come back to work but what else is new...rofl.

Sister's house thanksgiving and then cooking on Sunday for dh family and of course shopping all day friday! on turkey day everyone goes over the ads while we are cooking and i get everyones wish list, I ask them to ask for huge things (I can never afford but like to see their dreams) and then things I can afford that they want. Doesn't mean they will get that I may decide what I am going to get them....we all love Christmas and the family altho most of us are grown up we decorate everything and have lots of presents, my little sister works at a thrift shop and she gets me some of the greatest stuff....homemade is my favorite....
speaking of which i will start decorating saturday....should of already started but i didn't. love decorating on saturday night with a Christmas dvd and I can wind up my ornaments, snow gloves, and music boxes and hear them play. My favorite is the first music box I bought which is a toy chest with toys hanging out of it and there is a tiny airplane on a wire above the toy chest and it flys in circles as the music box plays.
I love the season, gives me hope and happiness for the future and time to look at everyone and how things have changed thru the years.

Have no clue why I am up, but My sister DROVE herself with her lil dog sadie, in the 96 buick park avenue I gave her two years ago. She brought sadie for us to get Used to her, since we will be inheriting her when sister is gone. SHe has lost 20 pounds, the chemo was making her sooo sick, the decided to give her a ten day break from it. She is now drinking the essiac tea and also taking soursop fruit caplets. She has eaten more here in one day ( last night( than she has all week. I had made a big ole pot of chicken and noodles, and some tuna cassrole and some linquini, and she ate a bowl of each. She also ate 5 of the two kinds of cookies joanna and joe made. I am so glad she made it here. I had to work yesterday and willl work tommorrow and saturday while she is here, but kids and hubby are doting over her well enough. Joanna made white bread and pumpkin bread and pumpkin cookies with chic chips, Joe made some kind of stuffing with cornbread and apples, sister and i made pecan pies and dressed a bone in ham with brown sugar, pineapple and cherries. We are going over to Joes lil brothers house this year. Kids are meeting us over there.
Sister told me last night she expects this to be her last thanksgiving and i started crying. then we were both crying. Today we will all be thankful for all of us standing.

PS: Joe and Sadie are getting along.. he knows we will be inheriting her some day and he is actually good with that. She is a cute lil boxer/beagle mix. 5 years old. Joanna took to her right away. She gaurds Sherry like a feirce mama Bear. LOL

here is my lil sister and my 31 yr old daughter, Rose..
today after i got off work, sister and i changed the battery in my sons car,( 2 hours) and the airfilter in Rose's car..( 30 minutes)
then we proceeded to TRY to fix the bathroom sink ( sister dropped a rock down the drain and then some kleenex wad she was cleaning with, she took the hair strainer out under the rocks and BLOOP! went a long oval rock, she said, then she was cleaning out the sink again ( i think she has a thing about cleaning) and she said the kleenex just sorta "DROPPED" into the drain. soo son comes in to get her off the floor ( she was trying to take the drain trap thingy off) and I was afraid the plumbing would break at the wall, so I am like stop lease leave it alone .. LOL
*sigh* now I have another plumbing chore for the guy to come and fix. I think me and sister could fix it, but we don't have the strength or the tools and I don't like the thought of her being on the floor.
Heater came on last night for first time, can't wait to see leaves starting to turn yellow like they always do when the heater comes on.
Have to re-arrange some things, tommorrow.

Joe has ironed his jeans, shirts and even his tshirts ever since I have known him. He is the only one who uses that ironing board for ironing.. right now it is piled with christmas boxes full of decorations.

Joyce hope you feel better. Sister went home, and went to dr today, not good news. sorry. the chemo she just stopped did not do anything and the cancer has spread. her pain has increased. She has agreed to 6 rounds of a "new" chemo. after that I am moving her home here for good. I just ca not getinto the christmas spirit. when I hear christmas music i start to cry. sorry to dump.

It is ok Joyce.. I knew last night when I lost my MAya brug, there was an omen about to come.. anyway.. if her dang bratty daughter doesn't quit calling her mom names and dissing her and telling her she is using her cancer as an excuse to be stupid, I am going to drive there and beat the crap out of her.
I helped my sister to get one half of her life insurance money ahead of time, and sister put it in her daughters name, and now her daughter has a horse. Geez! and all my sister can do is worry about how her daughter is going to make it on her own? Well, I told her when she is gone, Alexandria will HAVE to make it on her own. And with all the money she is going to have, I am sure she will be just fine until after about 6 months and then she will be broke I am sure.

no room here for Alex. I have joanna here and sister coming will make the inn here at the carson house all full. I know I should be worried about my niece, but I am not. somehow she always seems to get what she wants. And knowing her as I do, she will do just that.
Sister needs to let go of her if she doesn't want to be with her momma these last few months, then let her go for crying out loud. I told my sister she is just a typical spoiled, selfish and "entitled" type of teenager. she is 18, has a new 2011 nissan altima, a horse, and a house full of furniture my sister can't sit on. I told her to ask alex if she wants to just keep it all where it is and take on the rent and bills, and just move here without all that. She had to hang up when Alex came home and immediately started hollering at her mother. I am steaming mad right now at the girl.
where is the wine? I need about a half bottle of MD20 grape please... Joe pumped a valium into my mouth when I came home I was so upset. He doesn't believe in pills, but immediatley changed his mind when I calmed down.
I think I over watered my Maya tree. It was rotted at the root base. I save on lil 12 inch piece of her. Hope she makes it, but if she doesn't I am not trying again. I am about to be done with all this plant stuff.

So sorry to hear all that is going on! Some people just can't accept the realization, that they are going to lose someone!

Tell that brat she has longer to live and regret how she treated her mother than her mother has to live and regret how she was treated . Sounds like the only mistake your sister made in life was not flushing that kid down the toilet . Sorry for being so strong , but all this really hits home with me . BTW , sister is a pretty woman , altho she did look tired in that photo .

Have your sister put it in a monthly payment to her DD & Not One Lump SUM : )

Hi everyone, Debra I am so sorry for you and your sister. I have 3 sisters left and there isn't one of them that I think I could do without. I know I said that when a younger sister had cancer. I did lose her and before she died, she was in so much pain that I prayed that God would take her to end her suffering. She had Lung Cancer and got so she was begging us to help her breath.
Update on Ray... Monday he had the reconstructive surgery to fill the hole left in his back from the cancer surgery. He came home the same day as surgery but by 9pm he was in so much pain that he wished he had stayed overnight in the Hospital. He has hurt so bad this week and if you enlarge the picture, you will see why. You will have to see the picture to believe how his back was repaired..

18 yr olds should never get lump sums of money because they are too young and stupid to know how to deal with it the majority of the time. I lost my Dad suddenly at 18. I do remember feeling angry at him for leaving us. Course I never said anything but found out later that is pretty typical feeling. One can only hope she is only scared and angry but gosh it is too bad she is spending what time she has left like that.

Omg that repair on Rays back is .....actually I can't think of a word for it. Poor thing.

All I can say is, wow... they really did a job on Ray. Hope he is feeling better.

Winter finally arrived in West Texas last night with a hard freeze down to 23. The roses and other flowers around town finally got their last hurrah yesterday before the wind and cold sent them on their way.

GOODDDDDDDDDD Morning everyone! Can you tell I'm happy? Yes I am. Ray is much better and the redness on his back is less. I have been so afraid that his body would reject the reconstruction. At one time his back was so red it was almost purple where the hole was. God is so good.
Debra, I wish you could have positive news too. I know it is hard to see someone so dear to you suffer and you be so helpless.
