Sweet Interruptions # 246
Last I heard, she was having a lot of morning sickness. That has been awhile.
I just went to Facebook, she posted on the 14th, that she is having a high risk pregnancy, and will have multiple Dr.s looking after her.
Oh Gosh....in my prayers...
No sweat, sistah Sue....we'll meet up sometime when it's convenient!
Mornin' all! Well we are under heat advisory for the weekend so I guess that will dictate what I do.
I also read what Tink had posted.......I pray she does okay but I am worried.
Sue, take it easy for a change and rest!!! Miss you Cookie.
I think it is time Miz Jaye comes back to us.....MISS YOU SISTAH!!!!!! Yes, I am yelling.
I pray for Stacy - sending healing prayers and thoughts to her.
I agree with Marion - Sue, take it easy - doing nothing can be a good thing lol
I keep phoning Jaye and getting no answer. Hope her ringer is turned on lol
well my nothing do day turned into a day of things.
first went to bank
then to my friends who just had a baby and called me in crying dispair, so i rushed on over and helped her clean her house. watched baby, then she could nap.
came home
started on basement,,,, started to rain.... came upstairs and started laundry
Tim is coming home for the holiday weekend. ...
Cookie looks like i am not coming over :(
so much for my do nothing day .... bummer.
awe so sorry you and Cookie can't get together this weekend.....
Well, remember my telling everyone that our den (where our computers are, and on the wall where Bob's computer is plugged in) has water damage due to the block under the trailer shifting due to its being improperly set when the trailer was put here in 1974?
Well, Bob's taken the outer wall off, and this is what we see from the outside.
1st one is by the door - porch on other side of it
2nd one is the next panel over - the wood feels spongy and like you could just put your fist through it without trying....
3rd one is the bottom of the wall where it shows the wood peelings
4th one is the join where the addition was installed a couple of owners ago. See where it's all rotted?
Further along the wall (31") is the wall where our den is on the other side - where the join is, is about 3' into our den.
So, Bob is going to have to replace about 6 or 7' of wall.
Wind's picked up and temperature has dropped (16c), so where he opened up the join he's going to have to close it up against the rain... if it happens. I hope it's a "blow by" cuz the black clouds seem to be moving to the east of us........
Looks like it has been getting wet for sometime! Hope it is an easy fix Susan!
Sue, looks like your day turned out to be an easy one. Get some rest!
ummmmmmm easy fix, maybe, cuz Bob knows what he's doing, but the overhang itself is 4ft x 18 ft, and then he's got to tear down the inner walls and rebuild them...... with lumber, not drywall, and going to use Cement Board like you'd use for firewalls, because we will have our BBQ on the other side....l.
Here's inside our den
1st one is by the bulkhead - see where the drywall is so wet, & the bulkhead is soaked/buckling too, by the closet door
2nd one is more of the wall - there must be a heck of a lot of mold
3rd one is the corner - think it matches the outside join I posted in the previous post. See where the wall is cracking down?
oh, and Marilyn - yes, we had quite a leak when we moved in, because the previous owner had cut into the roofline, to build an extension. He really didn't know what he was doing.
From the inside we tore down a 2' section of the wall, and the insulation was Soaked and Mouldy. It was replaced at that time, but not all of the outside walls, just some. Now it's a major rebuild.
We just had some rain for 3/4 of an hour and then we allowed the deck to dry a bit, as Bob needs to kneel down at time and it's now dry. He's back out working on the wall now.
Nice to have a handy man for a hubby! I know Bob will do it right! Hope that mold was not making you sick!
This is the day the Lord says, it's time to tell your sistahs you love them!!
I love y'all! Thank you for trying to call me and I hope no one suffers from worrying about ole me! Yes Marion, you woke me up with that yelling!
Thank you so much LK for holding the fort! You're one amazing sistah, always ready to help out.
Cookie, your dad's smiling away right now. That reunion with your mum should be a blessed event in Heaven.
Kel and I signed the guest book too.
Sue, I got the prayer shawl back. Glad it helps you. Ouch on that tattoo girl. Synda had kept me abreast on the trial. God is good!
Cindy, I am truly hoping that you will make it to Marion's next year. Time to meet!!!
You too Susan, but I know the distance is just too costly.. but who knows you might find your pot of gold soon!!
Thank God, Bob knows construction.
Put our heads together, and suggest who needs the assurance and warmth of the prayer shawl next.
I was thinking of sending it to Faye (sounds like there's a serious issues with Ray) and maybe it will find it's way next to Pegi?
Let me know.
I'm here ^_^
Thank you God for prayers answered. Jaye, seeing you post has done for me than you can possibly imagine. Life can be overwhelming at times and we all need our space.....as long as we don't forget others do worry about us.
Aww, you sure warm my heart, Marion.
I'd be lying if I were to write it's a forced isolation. Been chasing some paper tigers, helping Kel out and on top of these, those meds have altered my psyche.
When I get home, I crashed!! I left wrinkles on my face from pressing too long on the pillow... ehem.. wish it's Tom Selleck's face!!
Sewing steady now, that's a good therapy for sure!
Jaye, thanks...I've been missing you and your wise words. They were special people for sure, and many will miss them, but none more than me. So glad to see you posting again!
Love you all!
Cookie
Good morning Jaye, glad your not pressed in that pillow! We all. Issued you very much!
Yes, Faye and Ray need your prayers, on top of Raye, going through radiation, Faye had to have surgery on her toes, no putting weight on it for awhile, and she also has pleurisy.
Oh happy day ---- Oh happy day --- That Jaye has made ---- Oh happy day!!! You sure did make my day Jaye. I've been concerned for you my dear.... Glad to see you resurface once more as you were so missed. Hope things quiet down for you...Prayers and hugs......Barb
"ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL TIDE!" the saban nation still rules.
jaye, LSU played a good game yesterday
Was wondering when the elephant would trumpet. LOL
elephants been busy. lol
busy trumpeting
Had my beer in my Bama cooler sleeve tonight...in honor!!!!
Yaaaaaaaaay Jaye's baaaaaaa-ack!! So good to see you, my sistah! Love you muches!!
Yes, it's great to have a "handy hubby". He's got so many layers on the wall, I can't believe it!
From the outside - Hardy Board (wood painted on one side, has a heavy wood grain), framing, Blue Board (insulation), Silver Board (more insulation), and insulation batting.
On the inside (where you can see the insulation batting), covering it with Hardy Board, and I can just paint over the already painted side to the colour I want. It's currently a cream colour and won't "go" with the minty green I have now.
Oh, and Bob is going to tear down the bullhead that runs from that side of the room to the other. Used to have an entrance for wiring a ceiling light which was next to it.
Oh, and Bob & I reminded each other that the previous owner had fallen through the roof of this room, and Bob says maybe that's where the worst "patch" work was on the ceiling and why we were getting water in the area.
It's sure good that Bob was a roofer for many years...... When he pulls down the bullhead I'm sure he'll find more mold.
I guess the reason he wasn't sick from the mould is because he has a higher tolerance than I.
It was on the wall next to where he sits playing his RP game on the computer Every Day and Every Night lol
I'm just surprised we didn't have a major fire with the wiring "live" and loose in behind the drywall which was wet, wet, wet........
lol someone at church said it was a good thing the drywall was wet, cuz it would deter a fire LOL I told her she'd better watch putting a toaster in her bathtub in that case lol
You all can say that College Football has revived me!!! Lolol!!!
Seriously, thanks to your precious prayers, God found a way for me to discontinue all those madness.. or at least take a break!!
Barb, Marion and Cookie too.. that's how I feel when you go missing. I'd be wondering what's going on with you, but I know the best thing to do is pray that nothing is wrong and that you all can't find time to make online appearances.
Me on dial up, just make it worse... too much waiting time for downloads.. and sometimes can't connect.
Much love here too, sistahs.
When you're through with fixing your home, Susan.. come on over. Kel certainly needs some ass kicking to fix this house!!
Sis Kathy, I watched Bama played against Meecheegan twice. Your team is GOOD!! Especially that freshman WR that can run like Usain Bolt! WOW!
Ehem.. I see another crystal ball again for you.
Did you watch the Tennessee game against NC State? They too have learnt to beef up their on their defense. Apparently the revamping of their coaching staff has helped revive this team.
LSU is still struggling for just that right QB. I can feel the loss of TM7 with the defense, but at least we have a few good guys left.
Marion, the 'experts' say that your garnet team will be one to reckon with this year! So you will have a lot to cheer for!
When walking out of the house one morning, we were greeted with hundreds of beautiful butterflies.. all sorts!!! Oh happy me!!!
Until I noticed later that afternoon that ALL my brugmansia leaves were gone.. what's left were a few caterpillars on the ground!! LOL!!
So much for a garden suffering from neglect!!
Coffee, bagel, croissant and cream cheese ladies. Forget about calories for today, there are plenty of crispy bacon to nibble on!
Off to town and have a happy Monday!
Morning Jaye, nice to see you posting..
The birds here must be getting ready for their trip south, Lordy they are chatty..
Spending the day at peace in the garden and sewing, can life get any better than that? lol
Enjoy your day!
well, my daughter and i almost went to jail thursday, thanks to her roomate, who decided to move out with no notice, leaving my daughter with all the bills and rent. then said she was shutting the utilities off. when she showed vup with the law, i went nuts, making my daughter do the same. she was afraid because of my bad heart. there we sat in the cop car being told to shut up. impossible for both of us. michael talked the cop into leting us go, promising he would make us behave.
Kathy, what a mess but glad you didn't go to the pokey!! We can't have that!!!!
Jaye, I will withhold judgment on the FSU team until they play some other teams...this week was certainly no match. I, too, am glad for the return of football season. I use that time to do hand work so hopefully somethings will get finished this year. It has been a long time coming back to me since Ross' death. Kim only request is I hold it to a dull roar when I start yelling. LOL
As I stated before Jaye, there are times we each need our space and we do get busy. Some times we don't feel like talking or sharing what we are dealing with. That is what I am guilty of at times. Doesn't mean I am not thinking of everyone and missing them.....just not in a communicating mood.
My hummers must be getting ready for their trip further south as I am having trouble keeping up with their feeders. Gonna miss those little darters.
I have been seeing a lot of butterflies but not sure what I have done to bring them here. Just thankful it happened.
Have a wonderful day all. Cookie don't labor to hard!!!
Sorry to hear about your situation Kathy, sure hope you can go after her and get a payment for those bills.
oh Kathy......... certainly a mess, but you've stood your ground. Now, to see if she'll own up and pay her portion of the bills!
Jaye - you're such a love - you're feeding God's beautiful butterflies!!
Happy to see you back on line Jaye. I sure missed you, as did all the other gals of course.
I've been having some computer problems. At first Internet Explorer wouldn't let me get into DG, so wondered why I upgraded it as they wanted me to. Now things are back to normal there, and I finally got Google working OK for me. I get so frustrated when the little signs pop up and tell me I don't have java installed when I do. I haven't started screaming or yelling yet, but close to it.
DH has been having his ups and downs and then on top of his medical problems the vehicles decided to give him trouble. He used to do all his own mechanic work, but technology sure messed that up for him. It has all but done away with backyard mechanics. He came in showing me some little black thing from the truck and he thinks that is burned out. He has no idea what it is but I thought maybe I could make him one from recycled things. Didn't think that was too funny.
Today I HAVE to repot some bromolaids a neighbor gave me or throw them in the trash. Every time I started to work on that project I would get caught up in something else. They are looking pretty sad now and I do have to give them a chance to grow and bloom.
oh Pegi - ditto on understanding the "little black box". Seems cars are more computerized all the time..... and you have to keep up with courses, courses, courses............ My cousin's car had a light that came on all the time re: transmission fluid or something like that, and the mechanics couldn't find anything wrong with it, so said to ignore the light. Now, how's she to know when something IS wrong? It's a car from the 90's and even then they had computer chips in parts of the car (warning, warning, Danger Will Robinson.........!!)
Sis Kathy!!! You must not have had your coffee that day!!! Oh my!
Thank you Michael for being her "sensible" angel. If not for sure, us sistahs will have to put up a collection to bail her out!
Wise Marion, you're so right when it comes to needing space. I wonder how my late mum did it with 8 kids?
Me too Marion. Football time is when I do lots of "fussy" cuts. Keep me from biting my nails!! Tell Kim our teams need all the cheering they can get :D
This year, Kel decided to cheer for Georgia. Turncoat that he is!! Oh well, as long as it's another SEC team.
Betty, it's back to the high 90s here and yesterday we saw our first hummer!!! So a scout must be looking for food before the long migration, I guess.
I hear you about those computer fangled car parts, Pegi. No more shade tree mechanics instead one is forced to turn to much more expensive "schooled" servicemen.
Hope your truck's running soon.
Susan, the same thing is happening with Kel's white truck. A little light that says check engine. Had a mechanic looked into it, and they can't figure what's the problem. This light is still on for 3 years now!
LK, how's your little mini vacation? Did you get the kids to play with some fabric?
Something scary happened to us Saturday. The state always pay Kel via direct bank deposit. Money was there Friday... withdrew some. Then on Saturday, when he tried to use the debit card to purchase gas at the usual gas station.. the monitor read "Insufficient Funds".
When we checked online, our balance was in the deficit!! Even what's left before the paycheck is gone!! And no activity to what happened to the deposit! One day it's there, the next poof.
Kel went into a high panic mode. I had to take a Xanax for him :D
Couldn't call anyone as the bank doesn't have a 24 hr. support line and nothing could be done till Tuesday. Only thing he could do was to confirm with his boss that the paycheck was deposited!!
Well... yesterday... the money's there!!! That minus sign is gone too!!
Kel thinks maybe it's because of the 'buying out' by another bank.
I don't think so. I'll be making one bank vp squirm this morning.
Have a good day everyone, and p.s... please pray for Synda.
She's having surgery tomorrow. Can't say as to what it is.. but when you're under the knife, you certainly can use some prayers.
Jaye, my sister had the same thing happen with her this weekend except she was buying groceries. I can assure you someone's ear was filled this morning.
Prayers been said for Synda. Hope all is well.
We are continuing to get afternoon showers along with the heat. Really feels out outside.....like fall but hot.
It is so funny about the new cars and their lights. We had a Subaru Outback when traveling back and forth for a project in Key Largo. Everytime we passed Naples, the check engine light would come on and on our returning home we would pass Naples going north and it would go off. Had it into 3 different dealers and they finally decided the car just didn't like Florida south of Naples. Go figure. Still loved the car and hated to part with it.
it would have been well worth the trip tp jail just to hit the little tweerp
ROFLOL Kathy you are just to much!!! Think maybe we should just collect an emergency Jail bond money fund? LOL
Kathy - you are TOO much lol lol
Jaye & Marion's Sister (Sue?) - that's terrible that the bank should "lose" the $$ even temporarily!! Marion - what did your sister do? Sounds like she wasn't able to buy the groceries this weekend? And on a Long Weekend, too...... could not get in touch with anyone....
Funny thing about debit cards...they can be run as Visa and that is what she did. Got her groceries but was still angry.
Some are like that, Marion - mine isn't. I have separate debit and credit cards (My credit card is a travel one, so have to fill it with bank funds to use. Therefore, no credit, and no fees :-)
Just as an aside - I Don't Like Credit Cards........too easy to get into debt for some.
