Sure wish we could check in with Thunder, Stu and Jean. Stu and Jean might, not sure, might be on the outer edges of the rain bands. Thanks for the prayers, we are just keeping up with the weather and doing what we can to be safe.
Sweet Interruptions # 246
Morning everyone! Fresh pot of coffee, and some cinnamon rolls!
Jaye, sure wish you would pop in and say hello! You know we worry about you, when your not here.

Interest thread for the annual PJ and or night gown swap. Come and check it out!
Hey everyone, I just talked to Jaye, she is doing fine. She said her happy pills make her sleep, and she has been in a long slumber, but she is awake now, she just need to get all the wrinkles out!
lol "get the wrinkles out" LOL
Glad to hear she's fine - she must have been sleeping whenever I called.
How was your camping trip Susan!
too short...... set up tent by 9:30pm Friday, and take down Sunday am.
lovely location though
one prob is that Bob had to replace 2 batteries in his truck - his battery was dead on Sat am so he had to get a boost. the batteries were $125 each, and $40 total labour = $304 - a cost we hadn't anticipated.
My last day at this job is Aug 31st, with no prospects as yet.
Sorry to hear about the batteries. Were they new batteries? When we get bad batteries, the shops usually will give us a refund!
Well, quite the day today - I got to work, there was nothing to do but filing (3 files) and put 2 inter-office envelopes into the mail, pack up some binders, and my desk (they're moving whomever gets the job to another desk).
When I was finished at noon, I told the manager (my boss, the director, wasn't in today) I was leaving, so she must have told HR that as there was no work that today was my last day. I just got the email from the agency saying they didn't know what was up, and for me to call........
Hope they get that situation straightened out and they call you back to work. Can't people see how determined you are to work?
They won't be calling me back to this particular job, and frankly I'm happy not to be called back. The agency will find me something senior enough for me, but right now they just have entry-level stuff they said..............
Come Sept people will be back from their various vacations and hiring process will be back in-force my recruiter said. Hope she's right.
hang in there Susan! You will find the right job for you soon!
I keep "hanging in there" but frankly my fingers are getting tired from hanging........
I will be in San Antonio till next Tuesday, babysitting Dylan and MaryAnne. I will try to pop in and say hello when I can.
Please be safe in that storm!
Wow Sue - that is beautiful!!! God bless....
definitely a tribute to Jessica...clear defined lines
Lovely celtic cross, Sue. I love the bluebird
I couldn't read what it says...... is it backwards and upside down? and it's on your leg?
She doesn't know how to "mirror" images on her computer. But it's Jessica's name and birthdate
Hi Everyone just been lurking not much going on......................
Next month will be exciting we are going to Reno for Street Vibrations. I have a new camera so will be taking a lot of good pictures this year.
We went to a bbq last weekend not very much fun as it was not our group of biker friends.....
May be going to a gig to support vets, this Saturday or maybe riding our temps are going up and down 96 today then down to 85 Saturday which is perfect riding weather.
hmm good for you Susan, but now I can see that it is DOB and DOD not her name
I thought the backwards 3 was an E so I can see where you would be mistaken too....... I know I was!
Very clever Susan to print out a mirror image of that beautiful cross. I saw this on facebook and I too was wondering what it said, thought it was a different language.
LOL
Sue, that is a beautiful tatto and tribute to your daughter!
Cindy, sounds like your having nice weather for a bike ride, have fun!
Just have to "flip it" in Paint. easy-peasy.......
I gotta tell ya though......... I'm Feeling clever - I got an IPod (thrown into Bob's truck in the winter, and I was lost in how to use it. It was locked and a friend unlocked it for me. Then I was stuck - didn't realize it had to have wi-fi to connect, etc.
Had NO idea how to load with music, use the apps, etc.
Well, friend said I Couldn't load apps without Wi-fi, but I Did It! I just emailed him and said "yes, you can, and I Did It" lol Feeling rather clever, when he plays with ITunes, Ipods and computers all the time. I've been out of tech support for about 10 years, and lost track of the new technology....... BUT, I found out I can still learn this new stuff, and do better in a day than someone who has been following it all along!! Can I be smug? Sure I can!! lol
I should start using my Kindle Fire more often on web sites. It is hard to type a message when you have to poke each letter seperately. But, I guess if I practice it won't be so hard. I keep on downloading books from Amazon so better start reading them. Still haven't tried to download a book from the library. Need a lot of practice there.
We got some rain this afternoon, what a surprise. It didn't last too long so my plants didn't get a good enough drink. I'm hoping we get some more later on, but then humidity comes along with it and I'm not too keen on that.
good for you for going to download books from the library. I haven't needed to do that, cuz Betty's son downloaded a Whole Bunch for me, and I think I'm "good" until I'm 80 LOL
Ladies, I talked to Thunder this afternoon, and she said she hopes to be online soon, with her new computer to say hello to all of you.
Thanks LK - so looking forward to having her back online!
Cindy - good pic, fuzzy or not lol
Morning,
Up and at it, start of a long weekend..finally have one that I'm not committed to a zillion things and what am I doing, slating in projects and outings as not to be bored..just can't win..too old to change my way of life.
Was checking in for news of Jaye, glas she'll be back shortly..
Lovely photo Cindy..
Susan, Jeff downloaded enough books for me that if I read a book every few days it might take me until I'm 80 to have them read...best thing about that is if I do I'll be forgetful and can start reading them all over again. I'll have to tell him you are making use of the stick he sent you ..
Well, have some sewing project to get at..waving to all I've missed
Good morning all.
Great picture Cindy. Glad to hear they had mist stations for you.
Looking forward to Thunder being back on line - we sure do miss you girl.....
Sue, in your spare time would you like to come help me dig some plants? LOL You wear me out with all you do. Take care and stay dry.
Hmmmmm...does that mean that you're going to poop out on me on Sunday???? (Again!) I am going to do roasted tomato sauce tomorrow. At least I am if it's pouring outside. Got the tomatoes and peppers, onions and garlic, basil has volunteered in the path outside (?) so I'll finish it off with some of those leaves.
Yeah, I'm waiting to see Jaye, too.....come on sistah...we miss you!
Cindy, I know I'm not up to date on a lot of things....but I thought you and Doug had split? If you're happy, I'm happy!
Better get me some of those energizer batteries that Sue is using..I just organized myself for a day of quilting/sewing and already upstairs on a break..
Ok best I get a move on..
Cindy, love that picture! You guys look nice together!
It is Friday, hope you all have a great week end!
Just saw a weather alert that shows we could be getting between and 4 and 6 inches of rain with wind.....until Tuesday morning....sigh......we need rain, but goodness, NOT LIKE THIS!
Good Morning ladies,
Thanks Ladies
Joyce you are right we did split up, last summer for about 10 days, lol. But since then things have been really good ^_^ Except waiting to hear about the house, grrrrr. Don't know why they have to take so long to let us know what's going on. I want to get things planted for spring blooming. My flowers didn't do to good in pots some days are just to hot. We could use some rain LOTS of it we have a fire burning and they said it will be Oct before it is out because it's in the mountains and it's not accessible. Every morning we get up to smoke just hanging around, cough cough. Today there is a little breeze so it is pushing the smoke off somewhere.
Cindy - it has been quite awhile re: house, hasn't it? Hope this gets resolved soon. My experience with bureaucracy is to keep in their faces...... politely, but in their faces nonetheless!
Bob was going to add an overhang from our roof to the deck (big enough to put a BBQ under, and me at it lol) then replace the outer wall, due to water damage and separation from the ceiling........ but now it's supposed to rain. BIG siiiiiiiiiiiigh............. We have 3 days for him to do it, and 40% chance of rain? Well, 60% chance it won't, right?
