Have to laugh, 1/2 trip was enjoying the bars (and I don't drink) well maybe 1 Hurricane because Mary made me do it...lol
other 1/2 sightseeing
Best/Worse/what did I learn today? Betty's adventures!
Is there a date set for the wedding to Joyce' Dad? LOL! Love the photo's, looks like you had a good time?

Left it up to "Joyce's Dad" lol
He's ready!!!
Just got back from ER. He doesn't have a blood clot, so good news there. He does have a Baker's Cyst, which I have never heard of. Anyway, elevation, rest and ice, so that's easy enough!
Off to make some homemade vanilla pudding. Took him to McD's and he said he just couldn't eat it, so he said the pudding sounded good.
Waving to all!!!~~~~~
Was going to say 'glad it's not serious' but not sure what Bakers Cyst is..did they give him meds???
Glad to hear there is no cyst, but keep an eye on that cyst.
A Baker's cyst is caused by swelling in the knee. The swelling is due to an increase in synovial fluid - the fluid that lubricates the knee joint. When pressure builds up, fluid bulges into the back of the knee.
Baker's cyst commonly occurs with:
A tear in the meniscal cartilage of the knee
Knee arthritis (in older adults)
Rheumatoid arthritis
Other knee problems
Treatment
Often no treatment is needed. The health care provider can watch the cyst over time.
If the cyst is painful, the goal of treatment is to correct the problem, such as arthritis or a meniscus tear. The cyst is usually not removed because it can come back. The surgery may also damage nearby blood vessels and nerves.
Sometimes, a cyst can be drained (aspirated) or, in rare cases, removed with surgery if it becomes very large or causes symptoms.
Expectations (prognosis)
A Baker's cyst will not cause any long-term harm, but it can be annoying and painful. The symptoms of Baker's cysts usually come and go.
Long-term disability is rare. Most people improve with time or arthroscopic surgery.
Thank you Lindakay..let's hope it's short term!
I hope so too!
Should be out cutting grass but it will have to wait, best I'll do is get patterns out to see which tote bag I'll make when I get to my sewing..that and tv is about all I can handle.
Ordered a couple of outfits for vacation, came today, does that mean I get to go on vacation again? Did do some shopping while away, bought 3 pretty outfits, had intended to cancel these as I had not received them but they look nice enough to keep!
Fall certainly is in the air..likely will get rain tonight..what is it like in your neighborhood?
Oh Betty Those pics are FABULOUS !
Regretting that I didn't go out partying with you gals....At least I could have "shared" the hurricane with you....
Hope everyone is doing well... Katie making out well with plans.... Crissy getting out of dodge... Debbie kiddos staying out of your hair.... Judy LOVE your posts as always... difficult seeing them fly the coop. LK thanks for the info on Joyce's dad and Betty's fiance... LOL...
Susan stay safe on that bike gal.....

(HUGS)
Mary
Still pretty warm here. It was 102 today, but about 2 hours ago, we had rain for about 20 minutes, and the temp dropped to 85! So nice and cool now!
Goodness, lots going on at your place Mary!
Sending positive thoughts for Katie as she undergoes her surgery today.
Loved the pics of Betty and Mary.
Dentist tomorrow for another 2 hr session - hope to see the light at the end of the tunnel soon with these teeth.
Glorious rain here! We sure needed it but unfortunately rain also brings the deer flies out.
Diesel is growing like a bad weed. He is in his little stinker stage right now - I knew it was too good to be true. lol He is a very good boy though - nice and quiet. The cleaning lady is here - last week he loved the vacuum, this week he is terrified of it. Debbie he isn't a little rolly polly bear cub anymore he has really grown taller.
T and L right now so better power down. Glad you are home safe and sound Betty - with lots of great memories.
Dianne
Dianne, thanks for the reminder on Katie. Definitely sending positive thoughts and prayers out her way.
I can imagine Diesel a long leggy little guy, but he sure is going to fill out like his Dad I bet. Glad to hear he is being good.
I am just worn out and haven't done anything.
Debbie
Dianne, looking forward to seeing photo's Diesel, he's well on his way to being a 'big' dog...you will feel so protected! Here's hoping he'll not be frightened by Thunder and Lightning as my Sailor is.
Can finally see the lawns turning green, growing to beat the dickens though with the rain and high humidity.
Am going away for the weekend so won't be able to get to the lawns, by the time I get home I can only think I should cut grass but don't get to it.
I was also thinking of Katie and the operation..sure hope all goes well!!! Will be nice to have this behind her.
Debbie, think your body is telling you to 'rest'
Betty, I haven't done anything I need to rest from and I am just dead tired.
Morning everyone! Dianne, so nice to see you posting! Good luck at the dentist today!
Adding my prayers fro Katie! Hope she can post soon to let us know how it went. She will be a sore lady for a few days! Hope she gets some good pain meds!
Debbie, why are you so tired? Maybe you need some vitamin B-12 for energy? Hope your feeling better soon!
Betty, I was talking to my Sister about getting a passport for Dad, and she told me he does not travel well on long trips, so going to Canada is out, but I was thinking maybe you could meet us at Frankenmuth sometime in October? If that is not too far for you to drive, I can get a motel room, and spend the night, so we can have dinner and do a bit of shopping? I will be there from the 6th to the 21st. Maybe Joyce, Sue, Judy, Janice and Stacey or anyone else close can meet us there too?
Sue posted that it will be apple picking time and she would be unable to make it so not sure if Joyce and Birdie would still come..would be nice to take the trip..we'll see what we can arrange.
Just called DIL's re getting the boys to take to Darien Lake, N.Y. (Debbie's neck of the woods) picked Sept 8th but if it's a rain weekend we'll put it off until the 15th. Their lives are so busy it's hard to get them all at same time. Now to book rooms..
For Judy it would be likely 5 1/2 hrs. for me 5 1/2 hrs. likely Janice wouldn't be more than 3hrs
FYI Betty, after labor day weekend, their hours change....and the water park closes.
That would be nice, a nice days drive, meet with everyone, have dinner...
drats,
do you know Debbie if entry is paid at each park i.e. rides then again in the waterpark or can you get combination park..off to check
on Sept 8th open on Sat. noon to 10pm and Sunday noon to 8:00pm
not open the next weekend but is the following weekend.
8th would be perfect but not if it rains which it seems to be on weekends of late.
Betty, when DH & the kids went ...the Friday after we got back from your place...it was all one price for entire park & water park also. Everything I find on the water park says "dependent on weather". SO...if it is above 72 or so they might be open.
Add me to the list wishing Katie a successful surgery today.
thanks Debbie..will wait closer to the date..no sense going if it's raining! Looking at Great Wolf Lodge, Niagara Falls On. Looks like fun but basically just an indoor water park..glad both parks for same entry fee!
Marion, has the rain stopped, are you able to be out enjoying sunshine?
LindaKay, how are you keeping cool?
Nope, still raining and lots of thunder. Rather surprised as there was only 30% chance today...oh well, I will just work inside.
We have rain and thunder is starting. Just a light sprinkle but the sky is very dark
I do believe in sharing my weather Debbie. LOL As long as we don't have bad lightening I am okay. Besides kept me from puttering in the yard so atleast I will have one more closet emptied, sorted and cleaned.
It's getting very dark here and we are supposed to get thunder and lightening. Seems like it's almost night and it's only 3:15. I guess Betty and Deb want company!!!!
I am staying cool, in the house in front of the AC! Too hot to do anything outside. Morning glories have all burned up, but the roses are doing OK! No blooms at all on the angel trumpets, hopefully I will get some when it cools down a bit?
Been a hard year for you and your pretties..bet you don't even feel like sewing! Nod you cook big meals??
White phlox seem to bloom a lot later than regular colored phlox..gorgeous..will take a photo!
Well I have discovered my flowers are the greatest but do I ever have a crop of beautiful colorful mushrooms!
No big meals here, we use the microwave a lot, or eat lots of salads. Just too hot to cook, plus we don't have the appetite in this heat.
Marion, are the mushrooms from all your rain?
I am pretty sure they are LK. I did take some pictures but will need to get a photo program on my computer. When it crashed I lost everything and haven't put a lot of things back on so far.
Well, Betty has done did it now....we are having a down pour!!
DH & DS are home already so that's a positive, But I have to go out to Amherst area. DD "thank you God" got a job and needs tan/khaki pants and red shirts...and Mom has money and she doesn't. oh Joy! At least it is a job and a fresh start I hope.
Yeah on the new job!
Fantastic Debbie, in what field? She is lucky at finding jobs isn't she...has she had her visit with the doctor?? Maybe this will be one less worry for you! Sun is out here Debbie, I should be cutting grass, please someone send me some energy.
Marion, not eatable mushrooms?
LindaKay, you will forget how to cook
Hugs for Katie on the way!
Hello everyone... just a minute to post before off to the Hosta Club meeting. Bertie just called to cancel so I'm on my own. No prob....
LK is exactly right on the Baker's Cyst. So far nothing has changed except he has no appetite and is weak. So it takes either Bill or me to help him up out of his chair and again off the pot.
Sigh....so unless something changes for the better, I won't be heading North to Canada, Eh, either. Bertie has already said it's a no go for her right now, too. Depending on how Dad comes along, I might be able to make the Frankenmuth thing...I've never been.
Well, have to run!
The rain is still holding off here so far. It's very dark and I'm hoping it doesn't start. Our semi-pro baseball team is playing a charity game tonight for the Children's Hospital that I make my quilts for. Keeping my fingers crossed....
