Evening all,

We drove 656 miles today, behind is mighty sore..of course a pain killer taken when we dropped in to Joyce's for 1/2 hr. helped ease the pain.

We are about 45 minutes from Cleveland, want to be up and at it early tomorrow but Lordy it's midnight so would be nice to at least sleep in til 7am.

Will gab in the am

mulege, Mexico

I'm cleared for surgery on Tuesday. Trying to connect with my friend to be sure I have rides, etc. alos, some car trouble. Stressful but not life-threatening. My friend just had a mild heart attack so I told him what's going on and the hlep I need. Also that I can reschedule the surgery if necessary and if worst comes to worst, Won't make the doctor happy but he's not happy with me anyway. In all the Kaiser chaos I missed an appointment with him and, of course, missing an appointment with the surgeon is the Ultimate Kaiser Sin.

Don't know how much I'll be online for the next few days.

Keeping all of you in my thoughts. I appreciate all the prayers and good thoughts.

hugs, katie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

((((((((Katie)))))))) surely things will work out for you, and you'll get your surgery go-ahead for Tuesday.
Here's keeping good thoughts for your friend.
Prayers being said for you, of course!!! Take care, and let the Good Lord handle things from here!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Nothing good comes easy it seems...hang in there Katie. Fingers crossed for Tuesday.

mulege, Mexico

Steve will be able to give me transportation and I can stay by his house. He hasn't been able to work since the end of June and I will be able to contribute financially so I'm hoping we can help each other. hugs, katie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

That sounds like a plan, katie! I'm happy that you have such a good friend and he's able to help you, and you him!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Well, last night Bob & I headed out to the park with our bikes, and I tried to pedal........ but discovered the bike is too small for me. How strange for me to find a bike that's Too Short!
I wasn't able to do a full extension of my legs, so I was kinda awkward. I fell 2x in the 1/2 hour, and poor Bob was quite worried - it bothers him to see me fall of course. I ended up with a tiny bruise as I couldn't fall far with the short bike

Anyway, hope to get out again tonight - with my full-sized bike!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all, nice to be h e..enjoyed the trip but always nice to get back..had supper put, came home, chatted with Cathy, got caught up on the news..now have the furries welcoming me, tired tired!!

Katie, let's hope all works out for you, is there anyone who could post as to how you ae doing?? Will you have to have major work done to the vehicle?? So nice you have friends who are willing to help out..bet Tony will be frantic with worry not knowing what is going on.

Ohhh Susan, was the bike you bought last year (or was it the year before) the one that is too small? Would the bike shop take it on trade for a bigger one?

Jean, think some of your rain followed us home...watched the weather channel before heading out this morning, says you are being hit hard..let's hope you and Mary are safe.

Holy moly,it was 72 when I got home, almost got a jacket to wear after enduring the heat/humidity in your neck of the woods...

Tired so off to bed
Waving to all of you

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Welcome back to the "land of EH?" Betty lol Yes, always nice to get home to your own wee bed!!

The bike I've been practising on is a kid's bike I was given by one of the ladies at the church.
My own bike is a regulation size and now that we've fixed the height of the seat, I can use it For my 1st practice I used the small kid's bike cuz my feet laid flat on the ground when I was on it........ but my legs are too long (!?!?!) for the pedal height.. It was awkward trying to ride when I had to reach so far up to put my feet on the pedals.
So, I'll use the bike I bought 2 years ago, now that I know how to steer, balance and use the brakes.......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Not so sure I can say it will be a sunshine day outside, sky looks heavy..according to Cathy, it rained much of the week..just having coffee on back deck, everything looks so green, nice to see the lawns going from straw brown to a lush green.

If it doesn't rain today I just might try and cut grass, sure does need it..see some new pretties in the garden will have to go take a look.

Susan, are you enjoying riding?? Best you scratch up the old bikes before using your new one..

What do you all have planned for today!

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, it rained most of the week here and most of it came across the lake....so your grass is pretty wet.

Not sure of my plans today, my mind has one list...my body another! Will see who wins.

Glad you are home safe.

Debbie

Central, LA(Zone 8b)

Glad that you have made it home safe and sound and everything is good there!!! Really wish I had been able to meet you while you were in N.O. Maybe next time!!! I have my passport now so you never know I may pop into your neck of the woods.

I had my 40th class reunion last night and it was wonderful re-connecting with all my old friends. You would never know that we had not seen each other for that long. The conversations went on till after mid-night.

Today is my last day of freedom before school starts tomorrow. I'm raising my 15 year old DGD, not me!!! But I feel like I'm back in school with all the commotion she brings into the mix!!! LOL!!

We're looking kinda wet today ourselves. Let the grass grow!!! I'm not having to water everything else so I don't care!!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Betty and Suzanne were both flying high while here for a bit. Shared some stories with us and of course Betty had to have some lovin from her fiance! ^_^

I didn't supply Betty with her drugs in case you all are wondering...and it was Suzanne's turn to drive so I felt OK letting them go on with their trip. They were sorry they couldn't see Janice, but they were headed across to 71 instead of going up 75 so that was not an option.

I offered, food, bathroom and bed, but they were not finished with their trip for the day. So glad to have them stop. We're trying to arrange a weekend in Oct. for Sue, Bertie and I to go say hello in Canada. Hope it works out.

Beautiful day here....73 right now and sunshine. Hope you all are having good weather, too.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cookie, what days in October? I will be in Michigan for two weeks in October, from the 6th till the 23rd or so. Maybe we can meet you at Betty's for a day or two. I will have my Dad with me of I can get him a passport?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow, now wouldn't that be spectacular..Hmm that falls near our Thanksging, colors are spectacular and nice time to come weater wise..gardens are all but done..early this year..we'll have to start planning..I know Joyce will tell you that you will have to watch your dad..keep him out of Betty's clutches.

Lol at the drugs..might have to get a refill Joyce..actually slept well last night and haven't taken anything today. Your BIL/Father/hubby must have thought we were right off the wall...imagine putting a drink inside me.

Darlene was here early morning and then June dropped in, just this minute alled Greg's to let them know I'm home. Kyle told me he needs my car for his drivers next week Tuesday..his dad is off fixing a few things on the Jeep..must call him!

Worked a few hours in the garden, firepit topped to the hilt of spent flowers, weeds etc. every once in awhile you can feel a light mist. Ooh glad I came in, pouring rain

Debbie you sure are right about wet..weeds, greenery just pull out so easily. Funny how we plan chores/fun things to do and the body just says 'no can do'.
Hope you are sitting and relaxing Debbie, I think you overdo much of the time and how is Paul and the kids??

Jerri, you best put your passport to work and visit my neck of the woods..quite an undertaking taking the responsibility of raising a grandchild, but what joy they also bring. As for your school pals did you remember their names? Remember grandma told me to mark everyone's names in the back of school picture, drats should have, can hardly remember anyone's names now, heck lucky I can remember my own.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I wish I'd done that name thing too, Betty. Even some of the baby pictures I have are a guess!

We haven't really set any date yet. Both of the others said they thought it was a great idea. Now we must start really getting serious cause neither of them have passports or whatever that other thing is that Stacie had....

Tell all the "Eh" girls I said hello Betty!

LK, that would be a hoot if we could meet up! Can't believe we were so close in TX and couldn'[t do it. Stacie's tat still looks great that your son did.

Waving to all the others!

Victoria Harbour, ON

LindaKAy are you bringing your dad home?

Hmmm so damp, legs aching a bit..just put dehumidifier on.

Don't want to lay on the chesterfield and sleep so might even if I do nothing else is cut out a bag for Julie, she loves dragonflies so I stopped at Joann's for fabric with dragonflies..Sailor is laying her snoring like crazy

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No, I am just going to stay with him for a few weeks, so my Sister can get away for a bit.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Joyce, Canadian Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to be at Bettys. Lucky ladies being able to plan such a trip!!!!!

Betty take care of the bod and don't over do it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Couch won out Marion, am laying quietly. Did you get the rain Thursday Friday??? Was a gard choice to not drive and spend the night in Pensacola..

Yep, would be a nice time, ours is Monday, oct 8th

Any weekend would be great..

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Good for you. I was wondering about Pensacola after I read about the escapades in NO. Yes, we had rain both day and night up until this morning. Today has been clear so far today.

I always loved it when we would plan a trip to see my brother and his family....would always try to be there for your Thanksgiving. Beautiful time of year to me.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Marion, one of these days you will be here spending time with your brother and his family..how long has it been since you did?

Judy, as always I know I'm in for a smile when I read your post..

Will get my camera out and post a few photo's for you!

How are the kids doing?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Betty, it has been 3 years since I was last in Canada. It was for my brother's funeral but I do have family living in London....a niece and a great nephew and his family. BTW, the great nephew and his wife are expecting a new arrival in September and I still haven't seen their little girl. Had hoped to be back but with Mom it is still day to day. The niece I thought would be getting married this summer is indeed getting married next week but in BC not Ontario. Bit far to travel for now.

I haven't given up coming back as my niece who lives in London just happens to be "the apple" of my eye!!! We have a special bond and have since she was small. She is just a delight to be with and so is her husband.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I should have remembered about your brother, sorry! Tired mind I think..
Next time you visit it will be meeting a whole new generation. Odd how we bond with a particular family member..how is your mom/sister doing?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hello All.

Glad you made it home safely Betty.

Good news about Steve being able to drive you Katie...one hand helps the other. Continued good thoughts for you.

Yes, Judy....he has started work and has already gotten a paycheck....not as much as he thought a paycheck should be....I just smiled and welcomed him to the Real World....LOL He is not crazy about the job, but really like the folks he works with...something about folding clothes 15 times a day loses its appeal....Grin Hope things are calmer at your house....GS starts college classes on the 20th...another little milestone in the list of many.

Good thoughts to you all

Glenview, IL

Waiving hi Marion!!!
Sorry not to have mentioned you..I am writing completly by memory, which has been in complete caos lately, roflol nothing out of ordinaryfor me though!! Anyway, I do try and at least read all the posts. How is your reorg of the kitchen project? Are you andkim finished? I imagine Kim is getti.g ready for school. Does she get the same classroom? OHhh, congratulations on the new arrival coming! It is wonderful you keep in close touch with your niece! Same goes for me, with my grand nephew!!

So, here is up with us!! Huber is 97% finished!! Everything has to be complete by wednesday as its hitting the market!! We had the stagers come andthey will be setting up the house on tuesday..then I will take some photos to share...needless to say we have been practically living there these last weeks. Steve has been on three other jobs in between...he is just exhausted with all the running back and forth to the various projects. We had a nice break and took an hour and half bike ride to wedding. Spent the night and came home today. The wedding was very nice! While there we discussed on how to get Joyce to her sisters, we are throwing a surprise birthday party. She turned 60 in July.
Omg, this means, I got to kick myself into gear and create her bday present!! I've been mentally putting it together in my mind for ever!!

Lolol nothin like waiting to the last minute...
...oh.haha you should see my trying type this post!! Still getting used typing on it, making corrections and such!! Trying to add a f&-%# comma up there, go ahead roflol, We are!! Adding the commas or deleting the periods where there should be a N. NOT A problem it's getting back to where I left off, now thats a totally different story!! I' sitting here whispering to this little piece of, Uh cute lil tablet, haha get it where i had it and it' disappears! Ssigh...holding the hands out for it tostay put!! Ohwah, Think I'll call this tablet Puppy! Cheer it on, when I finally discover enlarge the screen and whallah!..well hello, finally used the injinjudity!! So back to my post!

Lol..now where was I??
Ok so moving on...remember last post we were having a comotion going on. Well it had to do with thievery!! Not the first either, it was mine...I questioned everyone, and of course "no one" took it, so, I told everyone that since whoever took didnt own up to it then I have to ask everyone to leave...as you know Julia has gone off to her own place, Sabrina and Jake going back to school everyone was given notice. Well this happened and I lost it, told them now. So, Between Huber Ive been packing up Julia... This has been bittersweet!! She is just walking on clouds, she is so happy!! It's been an incredible journey for the both ofus..Dad was having a rough time with it. Julia finally invited him to come see her place, then he was ok...lol Julia was pleased he "only" found 3 minor issues with it!! I was doing good with it until this last load. I sent her on her way waiving, as she drove out. I came in put tv on and first commercial on, the song...
All my bags are packed. I'm ready to go. I hate wake you to say goodbye. I'm leaving...
Well, that did it, I burst into tears! My baby girl spread her wings and flew off happy as can be!!
In mean time Breenie girl working, plays taxi for.her friends
All set for her classes is preparing to start her job as afterschool nanny.
Lol, got the rude awakenig of deductions from her check, lol she was p.oed. She is bus and happy! I ampretty impressed with her organization skills!! She is doing great!
Ahhh and Jacob, my boy...he turned 17 on the 4th. We celebrated, took him to his favorite Japanese for.dinner. Julia gave him her room! So we've been cleaning his new
room...he moved his bed and adresser for now. Its got to get primered and painted. We have carpet...meantime.back to football and lifting/wrestling workouts...helped Julia & Dave...remember, his getting caught? Lolol, we put his behind to work, lol his culprit.in crime! Lol again.

Alissa/Jenny are working on their situation...heavy sigh, I gave in to another week, but they are working on it..reality struck infor them too.

Lol..me, I have been pretty much everywhere...I have gone through so many emotions, hands on the hips it is just nuts...moving Julia out, moving jake to the other side ofthe house, cleanin and all the landscaping at Huber, and when I was so angry, I did the best thing and ripped out weeds like no tomorrow! Snicker, snicker they never saw it coming! Betty, I lovethat you were able to weed with such eaze. I Find it the same while very dry too...im actually relieved for the drought with Hubor!!

Tonight we are having a fire.
today marks the first anniversary for Brian...

Lol...been writing on this puppy for ever...roflol if this post goes throu...gonna give it a kiss! Really!!
Yikes going to take chance and send pics too! Never mind, lol im afraid to loose the post!! Next time.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thoughts are with you and Steve as you sit near the fire, Lordy, one year already!!
I"m sure Steve's emotions are in turmoil!! Brian is with you as you share in the little ones life!

Is Huber furnished by the staggers or was the furnishings left in it when purchased?

I can picture you playing with your tablet Judy and I'm laughing..can't believe you have the patience of a saint with it lol. Remember I saw how frustrated you were with it.

Grown family you now have, best of ouch to all in their new endeavors

Ohhhh you will never believe this, me talking to strangers Ahemmmm..here we were sitting in the original Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, Suzanne was off taking photo's of the museum pieces and guess I felt lonely and started to gab to couple and 2 teens a few tables over..they said they were heading south, had driven 7 hrs and had come from Chicago, told them I had friends in Glenview, he started to laugh, they were from Glenview, can't for the life of me remember their names. I went on and on about Teve and his talents..when Suzanne came backpack I said " we are only 7 hrs from Judy's, want to go?". Think had we had 2 more days we would have..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Well, busy peoples, all of you!
bike riding - not yet, cuz I need to get my feet ON the pedals. Can't do it with the small bike.

We're booked to go camping on the 24th (after work) and will be back on the 26th evening.

Water in our neighbourhood is now slated to be shut off at 4:30 on Tuesday..... wonder if they're going to do it this time. Last time was too hot so they put it off. Tuesday it's supposed to rain, so maybe put it off again? And for minimum of 4 days. They're going to give us passes to the local swimming pool's showers if we need it, will have port-a-potties in the neighbourhood, as well as water trucks. Better than what they were going to do for us before...... kinda like announcing we have to go to the washroom when we have to walk to a port-a-potty.... and what if it's in the middle of the night for some elderly people? Get dressed and go? ewwwwww lol just picturing some 80+ yo lady having to do this in the middle of the night..........

Can't remember who asked..... I'm still working temp, but the job is posted so someone is going to be hired for it. I'm applying for it tomorrow - emailed my resume, cover letter, and references to myself at work and will print them out for the boss to review. Only posted job ad for 2 weeks, so don't know what their response was to the job ad. Darla & I get along (she says I'm a lovely person), so maybe that's a "plus" in my getting hired to work with her.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Judy, you have been so busy, with kids moving, and stuff going on at the house, hope it will simmer down, now that you have kicked everyone out! Good luck with the huber house too!
Susan, you can learn to ride that bike, once you get the right size bike.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

o my gosh.............. I was so scared - hail the size of golf balls........ and we're in a trailer, at the top of a hill, and a metal roof. Sounded like they were coming in. I was just out on the deck trying to take pictures of the lightening show, but didn't get any. I heard a sound like a rock hitting my car and thought it was the kids running by our place - it wasn't, it was the first of the hail!!!!!! At one point I was so scared, I ran to Bob and held on tight.
The hail's stopped now, but it went on for quite awhile.......
My poor neighbour's dog - he's a little guy, and he's terrified of storms, so I can just imagine what he just went through.....
I'd shut off my computer, but now have it back on cuz the storm seems to have stopped.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, dark/gloomy here this morning..have the dehumidifier on and still everything feels so damp.

Slow moving this morning, only because I'm doing a few things I should have done yesterday..most can wait.

Will get caught up on sleep at the office. Lol

Glad you survived the storm Suzanne

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Mornin' all. Judy, Kim started back to work the first of this month.....seems to be going very well so far. She does have an extended day (no planning period) and thankfully only 1 course before she has her Specialist degree. Next stop: EdD.......not before a break though. The GDs start back the 20th......can't imagine they are this big already.

Sharing your feeling about your grown family. I so remember the days my 2 moved out to spread their wings.

How are you feeling this morning Betty? Looks like we are going to have a scorcher today but rain is again forecast for the end of the week. Don't know if it was my imagination or it really was cooler this morning....almost like fall.

Well I have a long list of "To Dos" I need to get started on.

Hope all are doing well and having the beginning of a great week.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Enjoying my morning Marion..looking at photo's and grinning..such a great time~
Sore, but well worth it!

Was so exciting meeting up with Mary

Fun time in Memphis as well..

Joked around with Tom Arnold (movie star-was married to Roseane Barr) we were laughing and joking about his weight and I made a comment to look at me to which he quickly replied as I snapped photo "I married bigger than you"

Suzanne loaned him her hat..

He has a great sense of humour
