That is a great idea Jean, but it will only get worse come October 3rd re hockey teams, they all travel Ontario/USA..had hoped they would give it up this year but not.doesn't help now that Kyle is working after school and weekends..sometimes you just have to let go.

Debbie did have her checked, degenerative heart failure! Diet can help somewhat..benedryl actually relaxes her...her age is against her!

Betty, I have no plans, so any time will be good for me. Would love to see Judy too. So anyone that would love to meet up in Frankenmuth, let us know what days are best for you, and we can make plans to have a good day together!

Sorry to hear about Sailor not doing well. Never an easy decision when they get old! It was so hard for us to put Karoosh down, but we knew we had too!

I could be there around noon on Saturday the 13th then would have to leave afternoon of the 14th. Saving some days for Christmas as I believe I'll be driving Darlene down to ft Meyers Florida the day we get off and I'd like the better part of 2nd week of Christmas with her (re Mike's death on the 3rd Jan) then fly home...would then fly back to pick her up when she feels she needs to come home..soooo don't want to take advantage of asking for more days...was going to ask Paull if I could do my job part time, for more days off..we will see!

Will ask Joyce, we could meet up around Detroit and do rest of the trip together
Judy's anniversary would be the 12 th. doubtful Steve would drive her thus the bus, she didn't think that would be a problem providing sale of Huber goes through..she is so hoping it will so that she can purchase new computer system..

That sounds like a good date! Now to figure out who all is coming. Have you called Janice to ask her? I don't have emails or phone numbers for them.

If Debbie could get someone to give her a ride to Hamilton she could get a ride with me. It would then only be about an hour longer for me, for her less than 1 hr drive from Lewiston border.

Not sure Debbie, Dianne and Thes if you have the same cool wind blowing..sun is out but feels soooo cold..infact I just went and closed front and back door screens..imagine, wasn't it just last week we could hardly stand the heat.

One last spur of energy in the house, sweep and organize my craft room, by then it should be 3pm and my shift will be over then on to cutting grass..sure do miss Cathy cutting it each week but her blood clot/leg it's just too much for her!

Well, front and sides of the yard will just have to wait until Sunday..backyard grass was so thick and long almost took gong over it twice. Needed some raking..tempted to continue cutting but achy body let me know it was just too much for me.

Leaving for Port Hope in the morning, west of Dianne, I would think about 80-90 miles?? Darlene so wanted to go to her good friends daughter's wedding but never would have attempted going alone so asked if I'd take her, that was months ago..didnt realize it would only be days after returning from holidays.. Won't kill me I'm sure!

Hi everyone! Well, today is a hot one! Started out cold this am - quite frosty, actually...... BUT, true to Calgary fashion, it's hot, hot, hot now! At some time, you can wear a parka to go to work, and t-shirt and shorts to go home!
today went from 7c to 28c! Good thing it's a dry heat, cuz it's not so humid

Still waiting to hear re: other job I interviewed for yesterday. The Agency has sent my resume to the company, so I'll maybe hear next week.

Still no water, so got 2 more pool passes. I can shower during the weekday mornings at work (could go there anytime actually - I have a pass to the bldg 24/7), but it's a 20 min drive on a good day, so not going to do that lol
We have lots of portable water, but it would be nice to have running water to do laundry, etc.

Betty bummer about the Grandson weekend.... Maybe is there an "out of the box" way to make the weekend happen? Crazy thought... do a "Stay-cation" and get a hotel near where the game is and find stuff the boys would like, go and cheer on Noah's game, and don't miss a beat... keep on touring, dining, and visiting? A thought

Last Sunday at the "OUR" Bday party... DS20 and his GF19 gave me for my Bday the movie "Lady & the Tramp" and Tweety bird PJ's. Second to my beautiful gifts from Betty those were very special gifts.

Although I wanted to shake my finger at DS and tell him "You owe me too much $$ to buy gifts!" (I know his GF bought them)

So we had Sushi and a movie tonight and watched Lady & the Tramp. Loved my night. Timeless cute movie. Debbie you need to re-watch it... (HUGS)

Hubs is having problems lately... so he is especially nice to me... so my bday tomorrow may be special although we're broke.

I'm making plans and hoping to fill you all in real soon... "That which does not kill us makes us stronger"... right?

Mary, you know if I watch Lady & the Tramp I will go out and adopt a puppy. LOL It is a great movie. My older girls want to get a tattoo of "Si & Am" as that is
their nick names for each other since they were very little...two kitties just looking to get into trouble.

I hope you are able to celebrate your birthday nicely tomorrow. How is it at home with both the girls gone? I have had my nose in a book for the last 10 days....a series of them actually...to keep my mind off other things.

We're getting our water back, late tomorrow afternoon. We'll then be able to wash ourselves, dishes, etc, but we won't be able to drink it or cook with it. Mind you, some of their instructions are "off". City says - run the water for 1 hour before using. Alberta Health says - run the water for 1 minute or more before using. City included Alberta Health's instructions in their letter to us........... Does anyone know what they're saying?
They will let us know when we can drink the water. At least we'll have water tomorrow, but wish it were sooner, rather than later............

Betty - there's no point stressing about something ( have NO control over, and my boss has had 5-6 people in this job over the last 2 years, remember...............

Susan, the time recommendation about running water depends on what they are doing. The reason for running it is to push air, dirt and debris out of the pipes. It is recommended that if you have an ice maker on your fridge, that you shut it off until the pipes are clear to prevent clogging the hose or making dirty ice.

Ice maker or Central air, or something else but I forget what........ we don't have any of the three, so not worried. Not sure how to empty the hot water tank. We ran it until there was no hot water left, and now we're waiting for it to heat up again.
Anyway, They've fixed whatever was wrong in the water, so we're good.
They also added a 2nd stop cock on the water system, because they only had one and if there were any problems they'd have to shut the whole park down. Now, they only have to shut off 1/2 the park if there's a problem.

Well, should have my car parts on Tuesday and then the mechanic can fix it. S'funny - the parts were shipped via FedEx and they went from NJ to Alberta (Lethbridge) last night - only 3 hours away. It's going to take until Tuesday to deliver the parts.......?!?!?! I can understand not working on Sat/Sun, but not delivering until Tuesday?

Your parts will go Monday morning to the distribution center for Calgary and may not be there in time to get on a truck for Monday delivery...but sometimes they do, so fedex says Tuesday so no one gets upset. But they may show up Monday...and you wouldn't mind getting them a day early....grin

Running the hot water that long may have done the trick...just watch for particulate when you use it for cooking, etc. Glad they got your water back on, finally.

We're on a "boil advisory" and told not to use water for drinking or cooking. They're providing bottled water and have water trucks in the park for that.
They shut water off to medium pressure. The leak is still there, so we can't have full pressure. Don't know when it will be back full, but at least we can have a short bath, and Bob got his shower!!

No matter what day the car parts come - I won't be home to accept delivery (working), so will need to pick them up after work.

Some people have rented a hotel room for the past few days......... Don't think the City will reimburse them however....
If the water is not approved for drinking/cooking tomorrow, I'm going to pick up another 24 bottles that the City is giving to the residents of the park.

Sad news this morning....my Dad passed away in his sleep last night. I'm doing okay. So happy to have had these last months with him here.

Oh Joyce, I am so so sorry. My heart is just fallen hearing this news. So blessed he did not suffer...and as you said, you had these last months with him.
