Just wrote a long post, then lost it in cyber space. Dang.

Betty, glad your mom is doing better. She's had a rough year.

crissy, - happy to see you post. You'll get through this and be better off. Easy to say now but you know it and we are here for you rain or shine.

More later.

hugs, katie

Marion, nothing better than a date with a grandchild..now where will you go?

They are all spoken for and I believe will be going to new homes Aug 10th or so. Sharon would have come with us on our trip but no can do, we are going one week too early for her, besides don't think she can take long rides with her back

Asked for rain and are we getting rain, yikes..should have brought the Foxy Lady to work lol

Complain, complain, wanted rain and now I'm saying with torrential downpour likely to flatten the gardens..shaking my head!

Almost got smacked by Suzanne, I reminded her that we're on the downswing to christmas, we're beyond the halfway mark.

If it weren't raining so hard think I'd go to Fabricland and buy proper lining for bag totes..would give me something to do tomorrow but I'm not about to go out and have an early afternoon bath.

Katie, you feeling better??

Yes, mom has had a terrible year, that bad cough like I had, couple of good falls and now the accident!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yikes, Jim put Rocky down..my mom will be beside herself
If they weren't in Toronto but at the cottage I'd have gone over after work

Really isn't her year!

Lyndonville, NY

Oh Betty, Mom doesn't know? He did the right thing. Should just tell her he he passed in his sleep....or had a seizure and died on way to the vet!!!

My Izzy has been at the vet two days...On way to pick her up now.

Hugs

From what Sharon told me she was with Jim..yesterday when I spoke with her she said when Jim made the bed at the cottage there was blood all over it but that Rocky didn't seem like anything was wrong with him. They had a regular appointment scheduled for this morning so Jim told her to wait rather than rush him in. Yes, it's been a long long road for her and the dog this year..you know from meeting her just how she is with Rocky..I'll wait a bit then call, she wasn't home yet when Sharon e-mailed me.

Your poor Mom!! I hope this doesn't send her over the edge again to where she is lashing out at everyone like she did before. Her whole world seemed to be the dog...No, it sure hasn't been her year but hopefully all the bad stuff is over.... Keeping her in my prayers Betty.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks Barb, have you been to the doctors already???

Yes, her dog has always been her entire life, maybe now she can focus on family - ooops maybe better not wish that! Last dog had a funeral and burried in Weston Dog Cemetery..not sure about this one..

Not making fun, know it's hard losing a beloved pet, know it will be my turn sooner than I want!!!

Sorry to hear about Rocky! Hope she does not take it too bad.

It's 95.2 out with a heat index of 125. I'm stalling going back out!

Oh Joyce they are so cute! Tiny little pink feet and noses. I love that little "ugly bug".

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Yes, Debbie, I have to admit, the little one has taken my heart, too!! Okay, Betty....I won't be forcing any kittens on you since they're so young....I just bring one up to you this Fall....... ^_^

We're under a sever thunderstorm warning until 10:00 pm....so far showers have gone North of us and South of us....same old story.....we did get 1 1/2 inches the other day....I literally did a happy rain dance!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cookie, they are so cute!

Debbie, how is Izzy doing?

Lyndonville, NY

Linda, we just came in from outside. She is happy to be home, catching up on naps. Only the one tiny little "poo" but at least it is moving now.
I am so thankful she didn't need surgery but now she is acting like velcro....and stuck to my side!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear she is home.

Evening all, almost bed time..did my calls and mind is just boggled..so many friends in pain.

Ann hasn't been answering the phone past few days, I thought she was in the city for funeral, she just could not do it..went to the wake and right home, just too overwhelmed!

Nephew Brian called, said mom wasn't doing too badly but Jim isnt doing the best.

Talked to Cathy, not sure what's up with her..been just over a month that I rarely see her, know something is up but not sure what?? Troubles me

Gabbed with Darlene, she's not been feeling the best!!

Pass me a drink won't you...

Susan, week tomorrow I leave. How did work go this week?? Having company for lunch? You just know Susan that Joyce will want to show me the ugly one, seeing as I love ugly ducklings. Lol

Izzy sick sick??you know momma Debbie will fix what is ailingl

Joyce, hope the storm misses you..tour is only a few days away, you ready?

Well I'm exhausted tonight so heading off to bed!

Get a good nights sleep Betty.

mulege, Mexico

Just lost another long post. This is so frustrating.

We are OK here. Going slow due to the awful heat and humidity but we always seem to make it through this. I sent Tony home with some lobster tails and big shrimp which I bought from my friend Rafael. I can get lobster for $12 a pound; some price (about) for large shrimp. It helps Rafael if I buy from him and it's a super treat for Tony and his family. I have also saved lots of both for myself.

Tony's parents are both doing Ok. He's building a room next to his house for them as his two bedroom house is kind of crowded. I've been able to give him some materials, like windows and a door which I got free from a friend of a friend in LA. Also some roofing material which we were going to use for siding here but seems to me to be more needed there.

I've now lost 55 pounds. I suggest checking out Fat Flush if you want to know how. No wheat or sugar and lots of cranberry juice. Hard to give up wheat but it seems that allergies to it are fairly common and doing without it is working for me.

With so many of our friends having tough times I want to let you know that things are going relatively well here. Don't know what I'd do without Tony and hope I never need to find out.

We have almsot daily electrical blackouts this time of year. We've had them in the wee hours of the morning the last two nights making sleeping difficult. My weight loss of 55 pounds is making my knee less painful and my right shoulder is almost all better. Lost sleep, especially in this heat is a PITA but, as Tony and I remind each other, not a big deal.

Woke up this am with four of my five dogs in my twin bed with me. Like a jigsaw puzzle. Jennybear was kind enough to lie on the floor next to the bed or we would have been stacked like pancakes.

hugs, katie

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

lol Katie - picturing your 5 "pancaking" you in the bed lol
55lbs? Good for YOU!! Fat Flush, eh? Well, I've lost 20 lbs in 1 1/2 mo, so I'm doing ok - on 8th floor at work, and take the stairs at least one way, once per day (up or down) until I get enough "breath" to do it more often. Not used to stairs much yet.
Betty - turns out having lunch with co-workers is just plain uninteresting - they talk about things I have no knowledge of, cuz they have been together for a long time plus talking about work and they're in a different dept (HR). I felt totally "out" of the conversation. Now, I'm my own best company, at my desk as a lot of others do, too. Maybe for the same reason?!
One more week, Betty? getting excited, I'll bet!
Just one more week for me, too, then I'm back camping! Maybe take the 1/2 day off Friday the 3rd, too..... we'll see....
