SWEET INTERRUPTIONS #243

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Susan, Tuesday will soon be here.
Guess your chat time will be limited. I'll pray for a good first day at work for you. Hope you like the office surroundings and most important of all, your co-workers.
They should be delighted to get an intelligent and industrious worker.

I'm sorry about Baby. What if you try again with that animal therapist?
You and Bob must have tried all you can for her.
Understand your pain fully. It will be a hard decision if one of my cats acted out like that. But then, I have the yard to keep it outside, whereas you don't have one.
(((((((((((((Susan)))))))))))))))

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Can't try with the cat behaviouralist..... Baby's already been surrendered.
I have a deck, but I rather suspect she'd get out of it, and then with the Coyotes..... big as GShepherds.......
Send some hugs Bob's way too - she was "his cat" and they spent most of the time together playing and horsing around - although he was the first one to say "get rid of her". Love/Hate relationship I guess. He loved her gentleness, and playfulness but hated the mess she would leave. He could spin her around on the floor and she'd come back for more. She sure adored him....... BUT I have a contact ph# to see how she's doing.
I think the hardest part for him was gathering up her stuff afterwards. He agreed though - no more pets!

Look what I found re: lost love:

There's also something about friendship quotes, funny love quotes, inspirational quotes, etc

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Spent 3 hours at stores in the heat getting more sundries for the pantry.
The heat index was 110 and talk of misery. Kel was impossible to get along with, and I was running out of patience.
So, when I got home, I told him that he would NOT go with me visiting. I don't want a grouch next to me.

Time to write out what I did at Sis Carolyn's place. Of all the things I forgot to do, is to bring my camera along.

Last night I told Kel that I'd like some fresh corn. God granted my wish.
Sis Carolyn's DH had picked 3 grocery bags full of fresh corn. They told me that if I trimmed the silks, leave the husks alone, I could freeze them in a double garbage bag, and they'll froze individually! Hallelujah, all year long I'll be having corn. Can even turn some into corn pudding!

I got bags of cucumbers, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and blueberries!! Wow!! Gonna try her DIL's recipe for easy blueberry crumbcake.
Lay blueberries in a baking pan, add butter, and pour a cake mix over it. Add more butter on top. Bake and voila, easy blueberry crumbcake.

The visit was made much more enchanting, with Bright Eyes.
Sis had rescued a fawn that had strayed into her garden. The mama doe could have been shot by a poacher (it's not hunting season).
It's so adorable. How lucky am I to experience this?
We have adult deers that come close to our property, but I've never seen a fawn out in the open.
Sis said that most male fawns don't survive being domesticated. I hope not. Her DH had called the wardens and their advice is to release it back to the woods.
What chances does that baby has in survival? So, now, they are both raising Bright Eyes. Sounds so native Indian doesn't it?
I'd like to return on the 4th just to take a pic of it.

Anyway, when I got home, Kel was at the door. Read this.. I was doing the balancing act with so many bags in my hands.
One would expect a DH to be helping his DW. Nope, Kel didn't help me one bit!!!!
Already with the groceries, I'm the one that put them up, and there he was doing the same. Laying across the bed watching tv.
Trouble in paradise? Let's say it's more like I've never had paradise! What I thought was paradise, was just artificial props!

Hmm.. all I had to eat today as a small 80 cents sugar free apple pie and about 5 blueberries. Maybe I should get something to eat. That should calm me down!
Better yet, I'm gonna down a glass of Cassis and pop a couple of Xanax.

Thanks for letting me vent.
Someone told me life is about choices.
Apparently I made the wrong choice...

See you in the morning my beloved sistahs. If I don't have you, I'd be crying more.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Don't cry, dear Jaye - a wise person once wrote - "A Successful Marriage is about falling in love with the same person, many times." I don't know who that was, though........
They don't mention that this also means you fall Out of love with them in order to fall IN love again.......

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks Susan.
There was a couple being interviewed on their 50th wedding anniversary. The reporter of course asked them for their secret in a long happy marriage.
The husband was the first to quip "Always say yes to your wife"
Think the wife was more honest.. she said, "Always ask yourself why you fell in love with him in the first place. And look for that place..."

Didn't drug myself, should have, and now I have a few hours till watering time. It's supposed to rain today, but I don't trust the weather report. Supposed to be in the 90s, so I'm not taking chances.
The fruits on my persimmon and fig trees are prematurely falling. Got to be the heat.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, so sorry to hear about yourday yesterday, and that Kel ignored you! (((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) glad to hear you were able to visit your church Sister, and came home with all those fresh goodies. And to see that little fawn must have been awesome. Please take pictures when you can?
Do you mix the cake mix with water or is it just a dry cake mix poured over the blueberries?
Still having issues with the computer, but mostly with Facebook. Sometimes it will load, and sometimes it will freeze! I keep getting a purple screen pop up, and it says something like, Jim is dead. It pops up so quick, it is hard to read it all. I have run my registry mechanic, my anti virus, and several malware programs, and it it still there.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Ladies,

Jeez what is wrong with MEN these days????

Chili cook off a flop, lol but everyone liked Doug's. There were supposed to be 6 entries and Doug and the bartender were the only two that showed up. So it was free chili for everybody and free drinks for Doug and I for showing up. Had 1 Bloody Mary, jeez it was as HOT as Doug's chili. So came home and watched the races, then a couple of chick flicks then called it a night.

LK, you may have to have a geek go in there and get rid of it for you. We have Microsoft Tech support. Where we go online and then give them access to our pc's and they clean out all the bugs.It does cost, $$$$ (for 1 year) even though I gave them my c/c info we never got charged. Don't know what happened. But then once a month they call you and tell you they are going to do the monthly check up. They have fixed Doug's every time.

Well need to work in craft room today.......................................TTYL ^_^

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Not much of a chili cook off, but glad you still had fun.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

2 entrants for the Chilli Cook-off? hmm musta been too hot, they're away for the LW, or too lazy lol Figured someone else would be there, so their entry wasn't needed? hmmmmm

Cindy - so they "remote into" Doug's system - there's a lot of geeks that do it to fix problems. Then they don't have to listen to someone on the customer's end saying "I'm going to try something" and not tell the tech what they're "trying" LOL I heard that comment so often, then when I'd go to try it, I didn't know they had, and they'd say "I Already Did That!!" as if I could SEE what they were doing, over the phone lines............. Blech!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yes Susan, they chat with you and tell you each step they are going to do. Then when they find the problem they tell you what it is and fix it. It is interesting to watch your cursor move around the desktop and you aren't touching it.

I marinated some brussels sprouts and bbq'd then yum yum along with some ribs Doug did. They are soooo goood ^_^ gotta walk an extra mile 2morrow ^_^

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Cindy - did they install PCAnywhere?

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Ah Jaye, I've never had my DH help me put groceries away. He does help me tote the bags in and set them on the kitchen floor. I think that way he doesn't have to help himself to anything because he doesn't know where I put them. There is a little madness to their ideas. I'd love to get a lot of fresh veggies. My tomatoes aren't going to be big at all. I have one that is starting to turn orange, can't wait for the taste of home grown tomatoes. That sitting around watching TV does drive me a little crazy, guess that is why I'm on the computer so much. I just can't still too long to watch TV. But, Big Brother is coming on July 12th and I'm not missing that!!

I now have 2 humming birds that came and drink the necter I put out. I'm surprised how much they drink, had to add more today. Guess I better make more to have on hand. Waiting for them to invite more of their friends.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Hiya Pegi!! Good to hear your hummers are coming round for drinks! Hope they tell their friends about the new "hummer bar"! I remember being so surprised to see a hummer in our back yard in Winnipeg - beautiful little creatures, aren't they?!?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you have hummers Pegi! We have a couple dozen of them flying around here, and we sit out back in the mornings and evenings, just watching the flight and play!
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thanks for the coffee, LK - woke up at 3:30 for some reason, and now here it is 6:20.......... weird!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

To answer your question, LK, yes, prep the cake mix as usual. Then pour over the blueberries and top the mixture with more butter.
I have got some cake mix yesterday, and will try that if it's not too hot to cook today!

Cindy, they should have split the prize and draw straws for the trophy!!
I could go for some of that good bbq today!

Morning sistahs!!
Yesterday's preacher's sermon must have been directed at Kel and I! There was some semblance of peace in the house, after that.
Didn't come on as I was still seething with anger, trying to let go is hard. With that frame of mind, it's better my sistahs be spared of more unhappy moments and try my very best to put up with Kel's idiocy.
Moreover, I had gone to the altar, begged the Lord to help me redirect my thoughts to all things good. Let go of what I can't control.
Lord can't help me, if I don't help myself first, right?

Susan, when do you go to bed?

Pegi, I'm not into Big Brother. More of Amazing Race and sometimes Survivor.
Have any of you followed Cajun Justice or Cajun Pawn Stars? Truly entertaining tv. shows. The pawn show is unlike any other of the same format. The guys there don't cuss. It seems to me, 3/4s of the current shows have a lot of swear words.

A storm passed last night, but the rains avoided the gardens.
So, had to deep water this morning.
Hope the triple digits will end soon!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

We watch the regular pawn stars and auctions wars, but not the other shows.
Don't feel you have to spare us of more unhappy moments! That is what we are here for! (((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Storm hit here about midnight...2" of rain but that is nothing compared to the wind it had. We are okay but just more debris to be cleaned.

Off for another cup of coffee.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, taking but a few seconds to let you know the 2012 Sistah's Gathering has been a success, believe all as they now journey home have enjoyed my little piece of the world.

As I relax and do laundry today I shall post photo's, so if inclined please have a peak on the 2012 Sistah's/Brother's Thread

Waving to all, prayers for those in need!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Don't you wish now, after having met more sistahs, we all live could live closer together, Betty? Ahhh.. such is wishful thinking.

Marion, how's the crud? Did you get rid of it?

LK, it's a success!! It turns out great and smells oh so wonderful!
I'm gonna try peaches or pineapples next.

Have some with your coffee!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

YUM! That looks delicious! Nice job!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

How much butter do you use? That looks sooooo good!!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, I am still "cruding"...so ready to be rid of this mess.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

That looks so yummy I'm going to take a large slice, thanks. Needed a little something to go with my coffee. Pineapple sounds so good, DH doesn't like pineapple, but then I get the entire cake.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure hope you get rid of that crud soon Marion!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Barb, I kinda lay the pan with pats here and there and did the same on top of the mixture. Plenty pats!!
Kel's quite picky about his cakes, and I'm mighty please that he ate 1/2 of the pan!

Same here Pegi. Kel would avoid anything with pineapples. Hey, more for me!!

More hot toddy for you Marion!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I saw that too LK, and my first thought was RICH!! Cream cheese, marshmallow creme and cool whip?
You make it sistah and tell us how many pounds you've gained! Lol.

Yes, Susan, wishing you good luck on your first day. Don't bring an apple, too much germicides used, bring a nice chocolate bar. Everyone loves chocolate!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I can bring an apple, as long as I wash the skin with vinegar first! Gets rid of the pesticides very nicely.......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I do - it's all the things that herald Spring!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning sistahs! Too hot for coffee this morning, it's already in the 80s at 7. So how about some peach iced tea?

We're 'heralding' our sistah Susan here into her new job. So for this morning, let's pray that her work place is what God has intended for her. ^_^

Thanks for the sage advice Sue. My issues aren't permanent that they can't be altered. You're right, negative energy can only pull you down.
I'll brush those thoughts away with more singing and praise to the Lord.
((((((((((Sue))))))))))))))

Thanks for that link LK. Don't think I'll attempt that one. The heat zapped away all my sewing initiatives :*(
I haven't even attempted to do any plates for the Dresden project!!
Someone light up a dynamite behind me please!!
Lol!!

Anyone doing anything special for tomorrow?
No grilling here, I doubt Kel would agree to watching a parade at Myrtle Beach.

Have a wonderful pre-4th sistahs.

funny people think i m angry at the people who murdered my DD but honestly i m not. I feel only pity for them. I do hate the fact that not all of them will spend life in prison and will be out in society in a few years but i can't control it . so i give it up to the mighty powers .
I m more angry with jessica for not listening to me ! i get so angry at her ,,,, then feel so guilty about being angry. awful isn't it ?
Tim is home for the holidays.... eh ?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, already missing my sistah's/brother's..sure hoping some will be back!!!

Sue, those emotions are natural, feel what you are feeling because if you don't at somepoint they will hit home and major depression will ensue...
