Well, I AM employed........... (VBGrin!!)
I got a call yesterday from 2 agencies - one wanted to give me a 4 month position which, when ended would give me a bonus of $2/hr upon completion of the assignment and a chance at a perm position with the company.
The other agency wanted to meet me at 2pm today - no actual position in mind.
I called the 2nd agency and cancelled our app't because I start at the first one on Friday!! (the agency is Also called "Friday" lol)
The company is UFA (United Farmer's Association).
I'm rather excited!

Sue, wish you could have come also..maybe in the fall you and Joyce can escape and come visit, only about a 7 hr. drive...did enjoy meeting you at Joyce's.

my 6 year old grandson has been in a state of depression for a week. today he was phobic. seeing soiders that werent there, and of coarse when we were at the drug store there really was a spider, so y'all no what happened then. thought i was going to have to commit him

LK... good advise given here... will keep the neighbor and her girl in my prayers... it's tough, I know first hand.

Betty... just sitting here waiting for my sister... had to laugh at her last night... she called me, and just started listing all the things in her suit case... then she asked if she's forgetting anything... LOL... I said "can you repeat all that again?... I didn't know that question was going to follow." I think she's excited to take this trip... and meet some new friends. I'm too excited to sit still...

Don blew me away today... he called to tell me he talked to his mom... she and his brother Steve are coming to visit us on the 15th. Well, I'd love to see them... BUT... I'm having oral surgery on the 12th... 24 teeth being extracted, and dentures being set in their place. The doctor said I'll be on a liquid diet for a couple weeks, and will be relying on pain pill for at least 2 weeks. So, I plan on sleeping it off all that time... I will not be good company for anyone... much less the in-laws.
PLUS... My son and his fiance and her kids are coming to house and dog sit while we're in Denver... we get home on the 11th, just one day before the surgery... no time to clean house after the kids were here.
PLUS... We're remodeling the craft room... and all that stuff is being stored in the guest room... Where do you think MOM and BIL will sleep?
Sometimes, Don just doesn't think.

So, well... guess I better go check my suit case again... for the gazillionth time.

Bj, good luck with the dentist! OUCH, 24 teeth at once, I would make sure you have plenty of pain meds handy! And I would call his mother, and re-schedule her visit.

I agree BJ - call to re-schedule, of course! She'll understand.

I'm a bit excited - got $205 worth of stuff sold for Nami, and another $150 tonight coming for the sectional!
This is fantastic for Nami and I'll be able to send quite a bit to her for furnishing their place!

Well i went for my first therapy visit..... wellllll actually its a massage therapy LOLLLLL... and he is nice on the eyes !! waaa waaa waaaa. ;)
i feel good. I feel ready for tomorrow . and a glass of wine and a chocolate bar and i m SUPERWOMAN HERE ME ROAR.... ....... ...... ouch think i hurt myself.

What's up with the spiders? Are you afraid of spiders too? poor little guy, to be depressed at 6 - but not unheard of...... People seem to think because they're children that they can't get depressed, but depression can be a medical thing........ so anyone can get depressed........

Good Morning Ladies,

Yesterday I spent my day going to lab for blood drawn, then dentist. Had a filling and got a that stinking wisdom tooth pull was in and out in less than an hour. Very nice dentist he is such a nice young man and very gentle. Then to doc appt. everything ok. I have lost 15 lbs ^_^ all that walking is doing me GOOD!!!!! So I came home but by the time I got here the novacaine had wore off and I was hurting pretty good :( I was so hungry too, so I ate yogurt and made me milkshakes, took a pain pill laid on bed and watched movies. The new Footloose movie is pretty good!!!! Didn't sleep too good last night I feel kind of run down so I think I will spend another day laying around ^_^ I hate being lazy but just have no get up and go.

awe Cindy - hope that painful mouth of yours settles down soon! Nice dentists are getting more common, so that's good. The days of the big tools, not getting frozen properly, etc are GONE (well, in most offices........). We just have to go in early enough, right? The worse it is, the worse the pain............

We are seeing some sun today but my sister had 2" of rain over night and still raining today. The trip to go see Mom is getting difficult as most of the roads we go are closed because of the flooding.

Fair Jaye. Mom has another UTI and according to Sue last night, she is getting very hard to deal with. So funny as my grandmother did the same thing...guess the apple doesn't fall very far. Mom has been rather rude to several of her CNAs (not that some it it isn't justified) and that has us worried. My Aunt (Mom's last sibling---83) is spending the week with Sue and she was shocked to see how Mom was doing yesterday. She has only seen the good behavior on weekends before. Oh well......it might be the infection.

Now back to eating....................

Marion - Sorry to hear your mom is getting difficult to deal with. A friend's mom is getting the same way - such a beautiful sweet personality, and now she's getting rude - snaps at people. With her, it's dementia - wouldn't be the same with your mom, as each person is different of course.

Marion, my late great grandma surprised her family the last few years of her life.
She had became exact opposite of the tiny, sweet quintessential Chinese grandma she was once. If she had dementia, then we could blame that change on that. But, she's very well aware of everything. She'd find fault with all. Got very demanding and worst, physical. Things that irked her, she'd make point by hurling dinnerware!
Her poor daughter would suffer silently and better be catering to her.
I remember great grandma saying that she didn't care if she upset anyone.. cause it's all bout her then!! No more playing nice.
You said the apple doesn't fall far from the tree? Then my grandma must not have come from the same tree. She remained the sweet lady right up to the very end.

Jaye - I just noticed the comment you made re: Nami and English spoken a lot in Malaysia - thank you so much, I was concerned about that, but now you've laid my mind at rest.

As I said previously, every person is different, and when one person becomes "nasty" in their later years, another person relaxes because they don't have young kids or work stress, so they mellow out. It all comes back to their own personal upbringing.......... and expectations.
