Is there fishing too????? Heh heh heh

I face the river AND the sea of Cortez. There's lots of fishing but not by me.

Did lots of laundry and shopping and I'm beat. Trying to stay awake to get the dogs fed before I crash. It's hot and humid.

So Katie, what is a good time for a visit? Lol

Just got home and Sailor was having trouble breathing, almost tempted to take her to the vet!

Then the telephone rings, it's Bernice, she cleared big patches of sun drops (not sure what the real name is) has a wheel barrel full, don't really need them but threw them in the back 40..see what becomes of them.

Darren, next door neighbor saw me crossing the road and shook his head, did I not have enough plants?? Lol

Showed me his 3 umbrella trees, seems the deer got the better of them this past winter!

Ann is coming over for tv bingo, here's hoping I get a new riding lawnmower..

Been a bad day for me hacking..don't even want to have something to eat incase it gets me going again.

Just got in the house, did measuring of the faux panels that need painting..hoping to cut out the panels so I have something to sketch and paint tomorrow and Thursday! Now do I have enough energy to cut them before or after bingo??

Betty get your tea and honey.....and ask your doc about the BP meds causing the coughing. Could very well be....is a side effect on mine.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

There's lots of fishing here !! C'mon by, Crissy & Betty!!
It's been RAINING here...... yikers! Temp dropped to 12c, and the ferns are enjoying the wet, out on our deck/patio table!

btw - our techie friend just left, and he's given us some info/hope re: the child maintenance order Bob's paying for his 2 "kids" - one's married as of Oct 2012, and the other's working full time - over 20, for sure.
We'd been told we had to either go to Winnipeg to the courts (where the court order was created) or pay $1k for a lawyer. Our friend said "no, just get an ISO form which allows you to change the jurisdiction to Alberta (currently in Manitoba) and deal with it there". He just went thru the Same ISO and knows it can be done re: Manitoba/Alberta.
Would be nice to put "paid in More Than Full" to this idiocy. We sure don't need to be paying until they reach 65!!! lol There is no "end date" on the original order.
Now, to fill out a Whole Bunch of forms LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'd be rushing to the government offices to get ot done tomorrow morning!
No winnings..

sailor not feeling the best tonight..just gave her meds, hooe she settles down..DON'T want to put her down when it only happens odd time, however, is getting more frequent..should go cut wood!j

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

poor wee sailor...... I hope she settles down too.....

I further found out from Brent (our techie) that he went to Winnipeg to do his court appearance (his originated in Winnipeg, same as ours). Alberta and Manitoba laws re: child maintenance are different. We may have to "bite the bullet" and have Bob set a court date and go to put a stop on it........

Morning everyone!

Betty, praying the sailor is doing OK this morning!

Victoria Harbour, ON

LindaKay, gave her meds this morning, she was having bits of for lack of better word 'fits'..have the girls coming in today from time to time to check on her..she didn't sleep the best last night so lets hope being quiet today will help. Painting girls that were at the house yesterday said she didn't bother with them which in itself is odd..perhaps an off few days.

Sunshine out there, great day to be home but here I am..good news is got up early enough this morning to take the insert outof the faux windows that were on old shed..cut an insert, base coated it black and will see if I can't paint a faux garden design today and the other tomorrow so the windows can put put up on the weekend..what a mess the old ones were

Do want same desgin..

and what will occupy your time today girls???

Good Morning

Sympathies to Dianne...so sorry about Stormy....My Mom always said "the Good Lord never gives us more than we can handle" and there have been many times when I've said "God has seriously over-estimated my ability to cope"....but in the end, I am still here and still kicking.... Keep kicking Dianne...we are all here to help.

Betty, hope Sailor is doing better.

Good day and good thoughts to you all.

You two are toooo funny! Debbie you are always road running, anything planned for today?

Spent the afternoon yesterday looking and getting a plan together..you know how at the get together end of June I personally want to treat all who come as a 'thank you' to a day they will remember, something special that also depicts my region "Georgian Bay" .

My boat "Foxy Lady" is comfortable for about 6-8 but few of friends would like to join us so that is out of the questions, another plan has to be worked out

Boat ride out of Midland is ok but what I enjoy from time to time is going to Henry's on Frying Pan Island! From boaters, to those flying in on seaplanes and water taxi's, (some coming in from all over the world) really enjoy the all you can eat battered or pan fried fish. So there are a few ways of doing it, waiting for a few calls and a list of those who are coming and when so I can pick a day and make reservations at henry's .. I was thinking Saturday!
for those not liking fish, then alternate menu's available..

We could take the tour boat out of Parry Sounds..is a 6 hr. jaunt with 1 1/2 hours for eats at Henry's

Or water taxi, shorter trip by boat..if from 12 Mile lake it's 16 miles and if from Honey Harbour likely an hour trip..waiting to hear from both water taxi's so I can book

u tube video stops for a few sec's here and there but it gives you an idea of the establishment and area

Do you think the group would like it???

Jean, I'm with you, some days I didn't want to get out of bed, but to what purpose?

Had I continued to do so, what a loss, not only did Roger miss out on life at 47 but I as well..so kick myself I did, started with a smile when seeing a bird, seeing a child on and on and on..Roger would have been so disappointed in me to have wasted my life..so lived for 2!!!

Bad web cam photo..but this is what I am repainting

One of the last bits of advice my Mom gave me...Stay curious...allow yourself to be surprised....find true joy in small things and above all...keep your heart and mind open to adventure. I have always tried to be dutiful and obey my Mom...but somedays it requires a mental kick in the pants....grin

Smart woman your mother!!!

I've been watching both Ann and Darlene, it's such a struggle, brings back memories, makes me realize just how far I've come. Each in their own way are finding out who they are, strong and capable women..proud of them..

I'm so hoping that both will come with me to New Orleans, know it's touch and go for Darlene but she just might come. I took Ann to Chicago to visit with Steve and Judy, she loved them and loved the trip so not a hard sell to get her to go..last night we spoke of different things Ann would like to see, perhaps once we get with Darlene and are all hyped up she might find the strength and courage to come.

Ann has been without Mike for 1 year now, Darlene's Mike passed on 5 months ago..am praying that they do come!!!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I am sure they would both enjoy the trip. Shame Dianne doesn't live closer....a trip like that would be good "tonic" and I am sure Warren would approve.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I am praying real hard that she is able to come to the gathering...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Jean, you should jump on a plane and join us..wouldn't Judy be thrilled as well as all of us!!!

Thanks for the invite Betty...would that I could. Unless my MIL changes her mind, we will be driving cross country to Sacramento to see SIL the last two weeks in June and first week in July. Of course she is on again off again, but know if I make plans she will decide it is a go....has happened in the past, so I have learned from experience 8-(

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning. I thought I had posted here and see now that I posted on another thread. This is what I had to say there.

I must tell you ladies, I am so mad at myself for letting myself go without excercise for so long. I am really paying for it now. I have had sedentery jobs all my life and figured I'd be fine to quilt and do handwork when I retired. NOT!!! I need to rebuild all my stamina and I feel like a child learning to walk again. This rehab is the best thing to come for me in a long time as far as my health is concerned (Nothing beats having Norm!!). I'm not only doing the physical work but each session includes a one hour lecture on how breathing effects all aspects of your life such as walking, travel, sex etc. And then we have lectures on proper breathing techniques and things we can do for ourselves at home. I'm getting a lot out of it. The doctor seems to think I should be ready for surgery by the end of July. Sure hope so.

You all sound so very busy. I am working on some sewing. Cher asked for blocks for her cancer quilts so those four are in the making. I have put together two blocks for the horse rescue quilts in the other room as well as a center for a round robin there as well and now need to wash fabric for the new mystery quilt from my local quilt shop. All this as I go to rehab and Sean's ball games and the boys band concerts and Brandon's horse shows. I am bound and determined that I am going to be active again!!!!!

The boys are doing well. Sean's baseball team has won more games than they have lost. Brandon qualified for the state equestrian championship meet. This is through the high school. The show was last Sunday and he was entered in three events. He took one first and two seconds. Needless to say we are very proud of him...I have posted Brandon's picture with his horse and today it is Sean's turn.

Off to change the laundry....

I was up at 7 am and slapping sealer on a concrete block wall by 7:30. Got it finished and did a little work in the new garden. Tony got another planter in on the south side.

I have a peach colored brug blooming for the first time. It has a little fragrance. My other don't - so far.

I, too, am of the sometimes-I have to kick myself in the butt to get going. If I sttart to work before I'm fully awake it seems to help. That is, I don't allow myself to reconsider whether I'm going to do something. I find it helps if I decide on one task the night befor, think about it as I go to sleep and wake up ready to do it without any further thinking. If my mind starts nattering I tell it to come back when I'm awake. It works for me.

Now I need to gather the materials for Tony to make the bed for my ambulance.

hugs, katie

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Morning everyone!

Betty I hope Sailor comes out of this.

LOL Debbie, maybe I should name my dust bunnies too!

Yeah Susan!! Fishing, camping, and whatever else we can think of! Once a child turns 18 they shouldn't be collecting child support any more unless there's back child support owed. Dang, was hoping you could stay close to home for this.

Katie does Tony fish? I'd be out there all the time, unless it's too hot, or raining, or windy, or anything pretty much, I'm a fair weather fisherman! LOL

I had an interesting night last night.

My friend was headlining at a comedy club here in Little Rock and I went with another couple, this poor gal I went with had just passed two kidney stones and she was in such pain but she went anyway. Well we get to the club early to get front row seats and my poor friend Tammy had been passing kidney stones for two days so she was hurting and laughing didn't help so we loaded her up with booze. Probably not the best thing to do but whatever works. The show was great, we laughed so hard we were crying, but I'm really bummed that my comic friend knows thousands of people and only 10 showed up for his show.

Anyway, when we were waiting for it to start my dad's girlfriend calls, my dad had found a stack of papers saying his mortgage loan had been sold to Freddie Mac and his girlfriends mom had been hiding the paperwork ..... since February. Since dad's girlfriend hadn't received the letters herself she had no idea and kept making the payments to the old mortgage company, and they kept cashing the checks. Freddie Mac obviously had no clue the payments were being taken AND they refuse to talk to anyone, said it's just too bad this has happened and they will have to move by the 28th since the house has been foreclosed on. They're seeing an attorney today and I'm hoping he can do something to stop this madness. She has proof that the checks were cashed by the wrong company so I think that will give her leverage. She checks her bank statements regularly and I told her that if those payments weren't cashed she would have known it and would have done something about in March or April. She thinks it's a scam, ever since Joplin was hit by that EF5 tornado a year ago yesterday the scams are running rapid there. I think it's just someone's stupidity and not paying attention to what they're doing. Hope that comes out ok, hate to see my dad homeless. She called me to ask if they can come down to my house and stay, some 5 hrs away from their house. They have 5 indoor cats, an indoor/outdoor medium size mutt dog, an indoor/outdoor Great Dane, my dad, his girlfriend, two 20+ year old kids of hers who shouldn't even be living at home, her daughters's boyfriend, and I'm in the middle of a divorce, not to mention that my dad is a hoarder so no, they can't come stay with me, my house isn't near big enough for that. Get her settled down and explained that if she has proof the old mortgage company cashed those house payment checks they could be in massive trouble and that will stop Freddie Mac from kicking them out. She has her doubts though.

So I enjoy my company and the comedy show, get home and Dave's truck looks like it has mud all over one of the back tires, his 4 wheeler is gone, his new white Honda Civic is gone, and there is an old black Chevy Cavalier parked in the woods where the Civic is usually parked with pretty chick stuff hanging off of the rear view mirror and the keys to it sitting on my kitchen counter. Well that made me fly off the handle in a very large way, which I don't usually do. I grabbed my Kodak camera, took pictures of it all, went in the house and apparently was ranting out loud I was so mad and Dave shows up in the living room looking like he just woke up. OMG! I laid into him, I asked where the hell is the 4 wheeler and the Civic, why is there crap all over the back of the truck, and who the hell's chicks car is that parked in the woods????? He said that he was at the bar painting something and a can of paint thinner exploded (I think he ran over it) and got all over his tire and 20" chrome wheel and splattered all over Haley's car. Haley is a waitress at the bar we frequent and I know her, she's maybe 25, big boobed, small butt and wears short shorts at work. She's very pretty in the face and has a nice body on her. Anyway, he said that she had to go to Texarkana, some 3 hours away on the Arkansas/Texas state line for those who don't know and she couldn't take her car with paint thinner all over it. So she followed Dave home and took the Civic to Texarkana so he could clean her car up and the 4 wheeler was in the back yard the whole time. OOPS!!!!!

I explained that what I see here looks really really bad and when I see Haley I will explain that she should NEVER EVER EVER go to a man's house who she knows is married and/or in the middle of a divorce when the husband knows his wife isn't going to be home, stupid girl.

Anyway, enough of that rant LOL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Just what ya need Crissy...more on your plate....glad ya had a good time at the comedy club despite everything else. Sounds like your Dad's GF's Mother could also be in trouble for hiding the paper work....what did she gain from that? Tell your Dad to holler loud and long...call TV stations/newspaper/radio/the MTG Co( let them know an attorney will be contacting them for fraud)....and any one else who will listen. These days, the squeakiest wheel is the only one to get the oil.

Victoria Harbour, ON

wow, sit and paint and look at the news...

Barb, I second 'best thing is Norm' totally agree!!! You sound so up so the sessions and fitness portion of it must be working as I can hear the excitement in the air..ok, where can I get these sessions here..fitness/travel AND Sex..want to register today!!!

Glad the boys are doing great, you have every reason to be proud of them. Can't believe how Sean has grown..good looking young man. guess they are like grandsons, anxious to finish the school year.

You are one busy lady Barb, that's a tremendous amount of sewing..wish you could help me with mine!!!

Katie, my mind wanders as well, find myself going back through some horrific times, just tell myself "DO NOT GO THERE" look around and find something else to focus on..am sure the furries, plants, trees and birds are tired of hearing me talk to them. Hoping Tony can come up with a brilliant idea on how to make a bed in the ambulance..you'll be needing it shortly for when you return to CA for surgery!

Crissy..double OMG on 2 counts..one with regards to the Mortgage..am so hoping that it's just someone trying to pull a scam and if not, charges should be laid re MIL not giving mail.

As I was reading your account of arriving home, my blood was boiling big time, I was about to catch the next plane out and deal with Dave myself..I don't know, still sounds fishy to me!!! But then under the circumstances I'm not prone to be trusting.

Jeff just e-mailed me, excited..you know how every year he takes 3 weeks to go kayaking, usually rents one because they are mega $$$ but last night he picked up his very own..geared for professionals so guess he'll be off this weekend on his maiden trip.
Told him I could have bought a new car for what he paid for his kayak lol boys and their toys, sure takes after his dad!!

Got some basecoating done, my desk is not that of an office, but that's ok, am passing a quiet day here and being somewhat productive.

Well Betty, as of last night with Dave, I have a friend, well several friends but one in particular, who works right across the street from the bar and she said she noticed there is white paint EVERYWHERE out there and was wondering what happened, it got on the smoker and the side of the building and everywhere, and that is also where employees park and us semi-employees lol Glad I wasn't there!

As for my dad's house, since my dad's the owner of the house and I'm assuming the mortgage is in his name this is seriously screwed, he can't do anything about her hiding the mail because there are too many people living in the house and no one can prove it was her, there's my dad, his girlfriend, his girlfriends mom, his girlfriends daughter and her boyfriend, and his girlfriends son. I'm so pissed I could just eat nails and there's nothing I can do about it. The last time something like this happened was probably 3 years ago, she got one of those scam emails that say send us this amount of money and you will receive a huge inheritance, I use this term lightly, the dumbass believed it and sent the $1200 the email was asking for, that was the money in the bank to pay the mortgage. Needless to say the mortgage didn't get paid that month, no inheritance came in, and they almost lost it because of it. That's when it was in my dad's girlfriends name and in order to keep the house they had to change the deed over to my dad, he got a new mortgage loan so this is all my dad's issue, of course his girlfriend is standing behind him 100% and did try to press charges against her mom, she says her mom will never ever ever live with them again.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you got to the bottom of it Crissy, now if only the house/mortgage situation could get rectified!!! How bizzar

Decided to just have soup for lunch, might help not having solids..potatoe soup..hope it's yummy ..just as I was checking out there was a butter tart, just had to have one, will bring it home for a treat tonight.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

wow Betty - now I understand why you're "doing for two" seeing as how you're "doing for your Roger as well...... that makes two Bettys and all the work that entails........
Darlene and Ann are so lucky to have someone "from that club no one wants to belong to" helping them through this.
LOL Betty "register Today"?!?! LOL We keep Tellin' ya where the men are, but I don't think you're Listening!!!! LOL
How's Sailor?

Cindy - yikes, no wonder you "jumped to the conclusion" - looks bad for the waitress to be there........ but, you're a tough cookie and have handled it pretty well, considering the circumstances. And your Dad - how weird is that - for the company to keep cashing the cheques! I imagine it was an error on their part, but it means that the $$ had been paid each month, so should be "in the clear" on this point - just need to make sure the right people are making the right decision! As for them moving in with you - NOPE!

My mind isn't quite "with it" today........ got a lot on it, so hope you can bear with me when I forget something I should have commented on........... I love you all, and you're always in my T&P..........

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Crissy - also glad you got to the bottom of this...... "send $$" email......... yikes!!!! I wonder how many people get scammed by this every year......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Joking of course..to tell you the truth at this point in my life I enjoy being with just 'me'

It's no wonder a lot fall for these e-mails, they are so authentic. Guess they are able to track your e-mails, pick a name from them and voila 'please help' goes out..

Been playing at painting all day, looking forward to going home...will stop at the nursery and see how much more their red mulch is compared to Midland, Midland I have to wait until I get there Friday but I pass the nursery so if only a few $$$ more I'll pick up a few bags and finish front garden.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

A co-worker of mine told me how he got an email from one of these scams - apparently a friend of his was in the UK and needed $$ sent to him. Thing was - the friend lived in the basement suite of the same house, so my co-worker walked downstairs and said "do you realize you're in the UK and in dire straits so need some $$?" LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

WOW, Crissy, your are going through a lot, I would have been mad on both counts too! Hope your Dad gets things figured out soon!

Victoria Harbour, ON

10 more minutes and I can blow this popcicle stand..just joshing!!
I'd say my panel is a little more than 1/2 finished, will leave it here and hopefully tomorrow it's done.

Need to cut and basecoat one more panel..hoping by end of weekend I can attach the faux windows to the shed.
Might be a bit of fixing the window itself..took a beating these past 4 years outside on old shed..wonder if I should buy plexi glass and put it in front of the panel I painted, if I did that it might last as long as I'm going to last - hate to have to paint them again!

think I'm on a make work project lol

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Well I haven't heard anything of what the attorney said to my dad and his girlfriend, Yvette, they may be meeting with him right now though. I'm far more worried about them than I am my situation, my situation will just keep rolling on until it goes to court. Dave thought I was drunk last night, he said that's why I was so mad, boy he doesn't understand that I do get mad once in a while, things like that set me flying.

The email said that a relative of hers in a different country had passed away and she has inherited a lot of money, and for them to ship it to her they needed $1200.00. So she sent them $1200.00 and sat and waited for her millions. She didn't even care that she almost cost them the house, this time she might have.

What's confusing about it is the mortgage company buyout, she was paying one company and they were cashing checks when they had sold the loan to the other company, who didn't know the old company was receiving checks so they foreclosed. Her mom didn't even tell anyone when a sheriff came to the door to serve her, and the person being served can be anyone answering the door, which I think is lame.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty it sounds like you are! LOL!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

geeze Crissy - y'mean I could be visiting and receive the paperwork, go back home and toss it out cuz it wasn't addressed to me? That is pretty lame. I could also be someone who wasn't mentally competent and forget all about it (wait, that IS ME!!! lol)
I'm sure, during the buyout that things were confusing, but you'd think that this is something they should have been on the watch for - switching payments over to the new company. Thinking about it some more - this does sound "shady".

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

She didn't know to send payments over to the new company, she didn't get the letters saying they sold the loan. Dad's girlfriends mom is 100% mentally competent and knows exactly what she's doing, she's a mean old lady, she doesn't like her daughter and has always made her life a living hell and I think this has put the icing on the cake. She would receive a major letter and hid it and immediately went to stay a few days at her son's on the other side of Missouri, then would come home and stay until she received another letter, then go stay at her sons for a couple of days more days, when she got the foreclosed letter she went to go stay at her sons for the full month, this is all premeditated, for what???? I told dad's girlfriend I would not give her a way back to her son's when she comes back to get her stuff, she could be homeless and enjoy it, she has no income at all and has been mooching off of Yvette since Yvette was old enough to work on a farm without a work permit.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

They saw two attorneys today and there is nothing they can do because the foreclosure process is finished. They have until the 28th to find a place to rent and they have no money saved up for this.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg Crissy, you and they must be devastated by the news. As you say, what you are going through is overwhelming but at your age you can bounce back and have the energy to gpforge through the hard times, but not so easy with your dad and Yvette..how horrible to have such a mother! Sooo sorry this is happening, it's just what you didn't need..BUT what happens to the money they were paying to the other outage company, will they get it back?? Surely yes!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Well my dad's 65, Yvette's 49 so she's a bit younger than he is. They're giving away all the cats except for one and the Great Dane, I told her that her kids, Kyle is 22, about to be 23 and has a job and is old enough to take care of himself, Kesondra is 23 and about to be 24 and her boyfriend both work and have been on their own before and can take care of themselves. Mom is out, done, history and Yvette doesn't really care what happens to her right now. They'll be alright, just finding a place to live may be a tad difficult.
