After surviving Joplin tornado and now this. Know it's hard to think something positive could come of this but it might just clean house!

I'm so sorry to read all this Crissy but I must agree with Betty. It is good that everyone is going to have to make their own way. I feel so bad for your Dad and Yvette though. When the old company cashed the checks I would think that was stealing as they knew they were no longer entitled to that money. I don't understand why your Dad has no recourse with them. But-I also know the law sure isn't for the little guy.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I agree that the "squeaky wheel gets the grease" though....... keep hounding anyone you need to, to get this resolved, and the $$ in the RIGHT bank account........... Have them pull a "Squatter's stance" to stay.......

I am not afraid of tomorrow for I have seen yesterday and I love today.

Noah's Ark : Everything I need to know, I learned from Noah's Ark .

ONE: Don't miss the boat.
TWO: Remember that we are all in the same boat!
THREE: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
FOUR: Stay fit. When you're 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
FIVE: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
SIX: Build your future on high ground.
SEVEN: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
EIGHT: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
NINE: When you're stressed, float awhile.
TEN: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
ELEVEN: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

Morning all, gorgeous day! Did a walk in the gardens, after Tuesday rains everything is growing and few flowers in bloom. With coffee in hand I did some oooh's and ahhh's, then coffee on patio table and picked some weeds! Starting to make progress and getting ahead of the age, almost time to enjoy.

Pat called last night, she had dropped off some 4 o'clocks..I was thrilled when she said that I must not have slept this past weekend seeing the amount of work I had accomplished, was nice that someone saw. Lol

Barb, Pat asked about you, said she would add you to her prayers and hoped you would get back to health so we could plan another BBQ

Mary, bet your tummy is topseyturvey , but hours away..your bags must be sitting at the door..

Still an hour left before I have to leave, hmm do I hear weeds calling?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Betty, please tell Pat I said hello and that I thank her for her prayers. And tell ALL the ladies I think of them more than they know and that I'm so happy to have met them. Another BBQ sounds good to me but not this year. Surgery will be as soon as I am done with rehab.

mulege, Mexico

It's 9:30am and the temp is in the 80's. I didn't sleep well so I'm having a fairly lazy day. Tony is putting sealer on the outside kitchen wall. I'm playing poker. The dogs are lying around hoping to get dinner early.

katie

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Same here (DST says 10:45) but the thermometer is already 80 degrees in the shade....gonna be a long hot summer...oh my.

Victoria Harbour, ON

It's 77 here with 68% humidity!

Playing with the painted panel..hoping it will be done by end of day..think we will go to the little restaurant that you sit facing Kempenfelt Bay, likely there will be a breeze

Sounds like a fun day Katie..are you winning?

Jean, they were saying we are having summer weather in spring..we had spring weather in March so goodness knows what we will have in July??

Are you all able to get outside to do anything?

More weeding for me this evening!

Called the doctors to cancel tomorrow's appointment seeing as I had to go last week by his request..nurse said nope, no cancelling, told her there were more sickies around than I, she said you need to see the doctor also so back to Midland for a visit with him in the a.m.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad they are making you see the Dr. Make sure you tell him about the possible side effects of your meds!

It is already 80 here, and supposed to be 99 today! I agree, gonna be a warm one!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty you can't be cancelling doctor appointments just because it seems like a good idea or you have better things to do, that's a very bad idea. Glad they're making you go in.

It's 91* here with 73% humidity, winds blowing at 15-20mph and its partly cloudy.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crissy, when do you go to court for your divorce? Hope it is not a long drawn out process for you!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I don't know, we don't have a court date yet. Dave told me last night that he has a different attorney and he's going after half the money in savings, he'll get $2000. Whoopdy dooo

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

We can't get a court date until Dave either responds to my serve or his 30 days to respond is up. So far he hasn't responded.

Victoria Harbour, ON

What a mess...sooner he's out sooner you can breathe a sigh of relief and start anew!!!

What happened Crissy is I booked tomorrow's appt. about 5 weeks ago, then about 2 weeks ago their office called saying Dr. wanted to see me re findings of my kidneys so he sent me for hospital tests, and need 2 major appts. kidney related tests, already have June 18th for one of them..until all the tests are done and in the specialist hands not much to be done..so really, why am I going????

If for cough, no sense, he said no meds can fix the situation, it's a virus and just a waiting game..what will wetalk about tomorrow ?????

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Right but Debbie mentioned above that the cough could be a side affect of the blood pressure meds and you should ask about that.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

It's 37 and rain-y here...... not major rain as we had the past 2 days (with major wind!) but still drizzling.
Brought the 4 ferns back in overnight cuz it was too cool for them. Keeping them in now too, as it's not a good temp for them.

Betty - I can see your logic, but I also think Crissy is right - speak about the BP meds and if they're affecting you.
Could this be handled by phone, or would you have to see the Dr.?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No harm in going in Betty, just to make sure all is well. I know, your going to say it will waste your time going there and back, maybe you can stop and do some shopping along the way?

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, with your previous kidney issues.....the new BP issues...and the cough...>Dr. Debbie says you need to be seen weekly like the doctor said.

He has to monitor you, because of the meds...which are VERY much needed...and to make sure something else isn't going on.

Behave!!!

(Said with love)

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Need red mulch for gardens and pond so yep will do doctor and shopping

Will tell him Dr. Debbie/LindaKay /Susan and Crissy (the entire shebang) says I must. Lol

LOL they're all Drs now are they? LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

To tell the truth most times I get better diagnosis from this thread. Lol

Greg and Kyle just left, got the sprinkler I just bought going..couldn't take the nozzle off, needed manpower! Feels like rain but if I don't water it will not rain ..everything is drooping and I don't mean just me

mulege, Mexico

I feel like I still haven't awakened today and soon it will be bedtime again. OH, well, one of those days.

I got the dogs fed so my work for the day is done.

I made a third quinoa cake. The recipe is almost ready to publish. Tony is happily helping to eat the "experiments" and has pronouned all of them good. So I'm tweaking.

We set up a barrel for compost tea in the new garden. I've moved a big goldenberry plant out there and have a couple more plants to go. One brug and one natal plum. Three burgs are blooming for the first time- two are peach colored and one is white. The natal plum is blooming and the little flowers smell like gardenias.

I mostly play poker for points which I can use to enter cash games which I hardly ever win. It's fun and only costs me $20 a month.

hugs, katie

LOL Betty!!!!

Katie, publishing your recipe, isn't that marvelous! The heat gets to you? Right now there is quite the breeze, trees are swaying back and forth, makes it bearable!

Just got a call from Greg, my most favorite uncle is in hospital not doing well, poor dear.
I'll go for a visit tomorrow night or Saturday.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

poor dear indeed - sorry to hear about your uncle, Betty..... hope he's resting

Victoria Harbour, ON

Katie, that is pretty cheap entertainment $20.00 a month..you've such interesting trees! I bought a flowering Japanese willow tonight to replace the one that got trampled on when the shed was built..take a few years to catch up..then I brought it and placed it where it will be set in only to find that is not really what it was..drats

Victoria Harbour, ON

Think I'll drop into the nursery in the morning and bring a piece of the shrub with me..

photo 1 - dappled willow (thought it's what I wanted)

photo 2 - match to the one that got trampled

Hmmm maybe a white weigelia??
Jean any ideas??

That does look like a white Wigelia. My hot pink is ready to bloom within two days,

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ive got about 20 of them Debbie and they are really doing poorly, few flowers of various colors. Don't know that I've Beverly seen a 'hot pink'?

Tomorrow morning I'll go back and look at the shruns, if you look closely at the first photo I think you can see some dappled willow leaves..don't remember having flowers such as I showed you (white) so just maybe this weigelia really grew this past winter..now I wish I had 2. Lol. I'm never happy right?

How's the family, Shannon home?Paul still suffering from gout? And Shane, is he working now that he is home from college?

End of June all mine will be busy, Jeff's 2 off on a 52 day survival trip up north of Algonquin Park, Noah working for an Uncle in Meaford all summer, Kyle will be the only one working locally. Hate that they grew up so quickly..

Jeff and Julie will be on an extended kayak trip, goodness knows where and Greg and Melanie have plans most for the cottage most weekends so I'll be singing, 'all alone am I? No wait, Canada Day long weekend I'll have some of my Dg family with me, then July it's vacation time for me, before you know it it will be fall.

Was having a coffee outside and could hear my neighbors and their company laughing and reminiscing about their mom, the hell they out her through, the funny things she would do then I remembered it was today they hurried her..she passed on at Christmas and just now that the graveyards can be dug are they able to have the service!

Wonder what stories my kids will recall..sure hope I've been a good mom! Don't you think we think we have been but have Bo idea if they think the same.

Remember a few years ago the kids said I didn't do anything with them (my boys) ..Lordy, there wasn't. Weekend we weren't doing something, lots of travelling, day outings, evenings of activity..as Recreation co ordinator there was always something g in the offing..couldn't believe my ears..when we talked about it, they said yes, great childhood but always 20 or 30 kids along with us..you were mom to them all..guess I didn't look at it from their eyes

I'm chatty tonight, I'm unsettled for some reason..maybe just tired so off to bed I go

Before I do, was Mary leaving today or in the morning ??

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohhh remembered another thing, spoke to mom tonight, they believe she punctured her sinus?? And her left side cheek she has no feeling..I was bad, asked if she was still carrying the dog, no she said, hasn't been out of bed, furthest she has been is washroom..no upstairs or downstairs..

Lyndonville, NY

I will go out and take a picture of my wigelia tomorrow. I think mine is called lipstick pink. And they shoot up fast once "settled". Mine is over 6 ft tall now.

Betty, both kids are here. Shannon's having a hard time, finances, trying to catch up....and her car is in the shop. So she is staying here so she can either use my vehicle or I can transport her back and forth to work. Not complaining...was my idea, and if her car is back tomorrow afternoon, she will go to the apartment for weekend.

Shane is very sick. I think he might have bronchitus or pneumonia. He refuses to go to the doctor but has dentist appt. in the morning, so Might see if I can finagle an appontment on the way home while he is in the dentist. He works Friday, Saturday & Sunday...putting in 3 12 hour shifts as it is wedding season at the club.

My van is "ill" also. Just had it fixed when I was visiting my brother....spring another leak, which they fixed under warranty, but found leaking hoses and other issue. Sigh. I honestly need a new vehicle. 190,000 miles on it and it is a 2002.

OK, must leave to go pick up Shannon.

OH YES, Paul definitely has Gout...blood work back today. Waiting to hear from Doctor for next step/protocol.

Have a good night,...back later

Debbie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - your Poor mom!! Punctured sinus - will that affect her breathing, badly? Wonder if that's why she's staying in bed and no going up/down....... just no breath for it?
Betty - this is a white wigela

oh Debbie!! Shane, and Paul - my goodness, your "men" are sure having a time of it, aren't they?! And you van's ill as well? you'd better keep healthy then!!

Alopurnol (sp?) Debbie, Paul really should be put on it. If he isn't put on it for your sake Debbie he should be asking or you asking the doc what about Paul taking it. You have to be faithful or it will not work. Warren used to say if he could only take 1 pill a day the alipounal(sp there I have spelled it 2 ways and I bet neither is correct) would be his choice.

Mary left yet? Hope she sends us some pics so we can all enjoy her vacation.

LK have you met with the Ortho doc yet?

Sweet dreams everyone!

Morning, can't believe it's just 10:00 am! It's sunshine galore outside, nice breeze but you can dpfeel rain n the air however might miss us.

I was in town just after 7:30 this morning, had already made my list and by 9am with a few minutes to spare I was in the doctor's office.

Receptionist and I were gabbing about garden, of course Dr.Jilesen who also loves to garden said come not my office and I will show you my ohoto's, asked him if it was like saying come and see my sketches and he burst out laughing..had my iPad with me, showed him my gardening photo's and Lordy he couldn't find his?? Lol

Talked to me about the benefits of staying fit through my gardening, talked plants, said ok now that I've calmed you down talking about gardening let's check you blood pressure...he said 'you are perfect' I said that is what Roger used to say! Another laugh..said he didn't know who helped who. Said in 10 minutes a few laughs and it did him well.

Looked at my results from last week, said still white ?? In my urine and a few others things but has improved..have to go to hospital again next week for blood/urine analysis

Asked about my cough, told me to give it another few weeks, if still having problems he will give me something but doesn't feel it's from meds and he would rather not I take anything because of kidney flare up

So now I'm ready for work weekend again..

Got gallon of stain to finish main painting n shed, white stain for trim, red paint for Bach touch ups..

For the pond, 4 bags red mulch

Got several different types of water pond plants

String for my weeded..hate dragging cord around, Timbrr mart had an inexpensive gas seeder on sale so ordered one, should be in on Tuesday..sale started today but they were not in sale shipment so it was off to WalMart to get electric weeding string.

Surely that will keep me busy all weekend.

Debbie, when I stopped at the Midland nursery I tried to see if they had wreigellia in lipstick pink but didn't have.

sorry to hear about family difficulties..omg Shane just has to het to the doctor's, like it or not! Wasn't it a new car that Shannon just bought..not saying they can't have problems but not what she needs right now. Is it meds for gout?? Boy your life is anything but boring!

Susan, couldn't open your photo to see?

Dianne are you having same weather? Bet it's lovely on the lake at this time of year..when I lived on Little Lake I most enjoyed May before all cottagers were up for summer vacation with the kids and then the quietness of September once they left.

Mary, always exciting getting a call from our Judy...enjoy your vacation..start it with no worries...safe travels

Boy froggies sure kept me up last night!

Bev, when I walked the gardens this morning, checked my orientals and all eaten by that darn red bug..guess I've lost them again this year! Makes me angry..

Well, think. I'll go put garden rags on and work in the front gardens where I can hear the telephone...

hope it's a sunshine day in your neighborhood.

Morning everyone!

Betty, sure hope your Mom can get that sinus problem fixed? Will she need surgery?

Mary, have a good time! Don't forget your camera!

Allopurinol

Morning Dianne, Are you working in the gardens any?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning everyone.

Sending prayers Mary for a safe and calm trip. You have looked forward to this for so long and I hope it all you want it to be.

Glad to hear your doctor's report Betty. Does your blood pressure have a tendency to rise with activity? That may be why he wanted to "calm you down". I know my heart rate and my breathing rates skyrocket with activity. But I'm getting better thanks to rehab. Each day a few steps forward.

Hoping things remain calm for you Debbie. All the drama and nursing others has to be draining for you. Sorry to hear Paul has gout. At least it is treatable.

Has anyone ever had squirrels eat their rhododendron buds before? This winter, I saw them eating the buds - and of course there was two feet of snow on the ground so I couldn't get at them. I have never known them to do that before. We lost several shrubs this year due to the eartly heat and then deep frost right after. And yet others, the forsythia and the azelea's and the quince were beautiful and full. My hosta is up and spreading out nicely and the day lilies will soon be in bloom. My clematis is starting too.

We went to Brandon's band concert last night. It was stupendous. And now he is faced with a difficult decision. Here is the problem. He was chosen months ago to go to Washington DC to represent the school at a leadership conference. Quite the honor. It takes place next weekend - Friday through Sunday. Also on Friday is the state band competition and he plays the ONLY trombone in the band. And then on Sunday is his first summer series horse show. If he misses it, he will be ineligible for trophies at the end of the year for the whole summer series. He has worked so hard with his horse and so hard with the band. The honor of being chosed for the conference is wonderful but we think he will enjoy and get more out of being home and participating in the activities here. That would give another student the opportunity to go to Washington DC. I won't know his decision until Saturday.... He is 16 and already faced with these conflicting activities and I know he will make a wise choice for what is best for him...

Hoping things go smoothly for you Crissy. And glad to know Dianne is keeping up with us here. Thea, how are you doing? Is your back and vertigo any better? And how are Judy, Bev, LK and all others??

I'm off to the hospital for a blood draw. They are keeping a close eye on me due to the new meds.
Have a wonderful day -- Waving to all~~~~~~~~
