Christmas decorations 2011
Looks wonderful Jumper!
Awesome as always Allison. ^_^
I use a red or green table cloth now and sometimes a runner but really shy away from white. I did see a lovely white and was tempted but my Grandmothers hard work all stained flashed before my eyes and I put it back on the shelf. :)
our family can't deal with white either.. just happy when no one sets anything on fire.. LOL ( my sister did a few years ago)
Great holiday decoration pictures! I've always felt that I could bleach any stains out of a white table cloth, but the dark stains in the colored can't be dealt with as easily.
Grease stains in the colored ones are horrible
Wow, Allison....what a display! The neighborhood kids must love it....
we are finally getting traffic up our street!!.. word must be spreading.. we actually had 5 cars sitting out there at once.. and trust me that is an amazing feat being on a string of dead end streets
Yay! I'd be there if I could.....
been fun watching the traffic .. just reinforces why we love doing it
Cool!
That's great Allison!
I emailed the guy from the town who coordinates the decorating contest.. even though we can't enter this year.. I told him he is more then welcome to bring the bus by to look anyway.. he responded that they will stop by
It looks perfect, Bill! The colors are all coordinated.....
pretty!!!
Finally got our balled tree yesterday, it's currently in the backyard...hubby trying to figure out how we can carry it upstairs...must weigh about 300lbs
Wow - at 300 lbs, it's not the tree's ball I'd be worried about!!
We need a crane!
Too funny, as usual, Victor!
Bill they don't need an invite.. but just a reminder.. might get forgotten about if we are not entering
Finally found a string with lights the correct size. We use very small ones. Had to go 3 places.
Frustrating this time of year....I have to replace a large light bulb in my kitchen....that's my chore for today....
DH working on stringing Christmas tree lights.
The ball on the tree is too big to fit in our galvenized tub UGH...any suggestions on what to put it in to bring it in the house????
Santa may be leaving the gifts in the garage if we don't come up with something
Baby hard plastic swimming pool?
It's so heavy that we're afraid to use anything plastic
Is the bottom flat? Will it stand on its own! If so, just wrap in plastic and a heavy tarp. Will not need much water.
Randy suggested a rubbermaid tub
I like the angel looking out the window! I have a galvanized tub here....sorry I'm not closer!
Beautiful DoGooder.
I said the same thing Allison.
Container has to be wider than 32", our galvanized tub was 26"...oh brother...
Hubby just went to Home Depot to see if he could find something to use, he thought of a pan that goes under hot water heaters but most have a hole for a drain line. Hope he finds something
It's a little tipsy Victor so wouldn't trust just standing it up on it's own.
We also decided that there was NO WAY we were getting it up the stairs so had to rearrange the family room...what a stinking project!
Could seal the hole.
going to be hard this time of the year.. any nurseries have tree containers near you?
ROBINDOG, thanks for the compliment! Your amaryllis looks amazing! All our plants have ceased blooming.
flowJen, I’m sorry you couldn’t bring your tree upstairs. But at least you have a great tree! Ours is tiny this year. The angel couldn’t fit on it.
DoGooder
That's what he did... bought a hot water heater pan and a drain plug, had to use bricks to keep it steady, almost done decorating it and have to finish rearranging all the furniture(and kids toys)
good .. glad it worked out!!
You're almost there, Jen.
glad to here jen - i always wanted a live tree that could be planted out later.
We bought a live tree once.....everything was frozen that year, DH was grumbling....and worse!....but we planted it.....then decorated it with outside lights for a few years...then it grew really large, too large, & had it cut down!
any evergreens good for firewood?
