we would appreciate anyone who has a few mins to vote for us on tacky light tour.. the site can be slow at times.. you have to create a user name and then click this link.. under each category if you click the drop down box .. and I usually just keep clicking the "3" key.. until our address pops up 36 Warren Trail then click nominate .. I know it's not a quick process but we do appreciate any votes

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oohh I like that.. LOL

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Counted 7 more houses with their lights on.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

totally dark here.. kind of depressing .. LOL

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

It's going to get bety bright at night, and I don't mean the Aurora borealis!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

kind of funny.. auora is the program I use to run the light show.. borealis is the one that schedules the show to start and end

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Well, yours is a dramatic light show, too.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

we do our best!!

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

I got most of my lights up today. I tried some new icicle lights that they are actually shaped like an icicle. I don't think I like them :( They almost look like shark teeth tome lol!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I like those.. think they are neat

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Perhaps they'd be nicer if done the right way.... I don't have gutters so DH stapled them right up against the house, I think they are meant to dangle. If they were dangling they'd probably look better. Plus they are LED blue and white and the icicles flash from blue to white. I don't have any other LED and they don't match our other stuff.

I tried to vote for you and I signed up then got stuck on the screen that your link brings you too. I spent the rest of the night restoring my laptop and actually most of this morning. I am having serious probles with this computer.. I need to start looking into getting a new one.

I like those icicles too, but they are $$.

Thomaston, CT

Saw some nice wreaths today....but $$$$. I'll go down the road & see what my neighbor has for sale at his stand....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I always get my wreath with the tree. Still too early.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

thank you for the try Meredith... the voting page kept locking up my browser.. I had to start the task manager to close my firefox and kept trying and trying.. was making me nuts.. the site does have it's problems so sorry if it caused your computer to crash

Thomaston, CT

After I posted the bit about my neighbor, I read the local paper to find out that he had been robbed of $130....that scares me, & I wish I had Robin at the door....he frightened everyone away!

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Man that stinks!!

Allison don't feel bad, it doesn't take much to make my coputer crash lately, it has been having a lot of issues. I'll try again soon.

Wreaths are too much $$ for me so I purchased a very large fake one at walmart about 4 years ago and I use it every year. My mom thought it was real and she's real picky about artificial trees and won't use one, so I think that's saying something. Plus I strung lights around it once and haven't had to do it since. Although I probably should because my kids made me start using colored lights instead of all white like I used too and the wreath is still white. lol Has anyone else noticed kids prefer the more gaudy the better when it comes to Christmas decorations? :) It's all for them now. :) I got almost everything up I wanted to so I will try and get a picture posted soon.. I did want DH to get on the ladder and hang the old fashion white icicle lights we have on the high part of the roof but he hasn't yet.. Maybe this weekend I can get him to do it.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

gaudy... I know no meaning of the word.. LOL

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

My kids surprise me sometimes, sometimes they don't like too much....sensory overload I think

Planning our church Christmas brunch and doing the theme " the sweetest day" so going thru all the options for centerpieces and I'm making myself crazy.
I need it inexpensive and very easy to do...I'm thinking edible ones so don't have to store them

Which do you like best?

http://www.bhg.com/christmas/indoor-decorating/christmas-candy-decorations/ I was originally thinking pic #12

Thomaston, CT

I liked the first 2 the best.....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

The candy bouquet and the starlight mint tree????

if I do the tree what do you think? 3 different sized cones on a shiny platter on each table? tables are round & seats 10

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Allison as soon as I read that word I thought of you!! LOL

Jen I like the gumdrop tree!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I vote candy bouquet cuz it could be eaten. Most everything else is glued.
The mint trees were cute, too. Your plan of three sounds good.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

the 1st one looks easy and Jan is right.. can be eaten.. but I like the candy cane trees too

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Alternate tables, so you can do both!! Sounds like a lot of fun.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Jen have you ever "played" with rice crispy treat mix? It's cheap and you can mold it into tree's or wreaths....what ever your creative side feels like. :)
I like a nice simple wreath...you could make mini ones or large ones.

Simple Edible Christmas Wreath

For an edible Christmas wreath, use a rice crispy treat recipe -- only substitute corn flakes. I use green food coloring and form it in the shape of a wreath. I add Red Hots candy for berries, and a red fruit roll for a bow. This can be sliced into individual servings.

Tree
Use rice crispy treat or corn flakes(I prefer the rice crispy treats) and shape into tree's. I use colored mini
M & M's but any small candy can be used for decorating.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love those!!!
