Oooh forgot to tell you all, I was in the 5" charm swap and a package arrived with my charms...Marion had a note inside saying, every once in awhile you see something that you just have to send to that someone special, brought a tear to my eye...well look at what I got..lol
Best/Worse/What did I learn today-Chat with friends
Betty that is a riot!!! Great job Marion.....
Suse, I could so paint that photo for my kitchen...mighty big lemon, will have to drop in one day for fresh lemonade.
Meant to ask, how did your trip with girlfriend who was taking you to a memorial re the loss of your dad go??? that was a few weeks ago right? Suse, wasn't there a movie or show that they were using an old ambulance..been trying to remember but no go..might have been ghostbusters??
Drats, Susan asked Paul for transponder for the 407, said we could borrow it, not a mention though to leave early/early..we've given enough hints, guess he's not bitting. wouldn't be any good for him to tell us tomorrow because the other 2 girls wouldn't be here.
Betty, what is a transponder for a 407?
I'm going to guess at this. I remember the 407 is the freeway they will be taking, so I'm going to say a transponder transponds the traffic reports.
How'd I do?
my guess is a gizmo that pays the tolls...so you don't have to stop....fast pass...called sun pass here in FL
frogg elvis is adorable :)
Judy, love the feather!! what is below it??
I had DR apt today, stopped at Joannes on way home , bought some fusible, so I can do some applique. got a background fabric, to do a quilt that I have been looking at for quite awhile......and a small piece of red flannel to add to the rag quilt I am working on...and some spiffy Halloween socks ..on sale 75 % off. spent $32 saved $53 between sales and coupons!!! I'd say that was a great shopping trip!!
Dr appt was routine follow up...all ok. except the usual high cholesterol , got some samples to try a new med...and upping the dosage on the anti-depressants that I take for pain. and she is going to mail me a "recipe" for a juice mix, that is supposed to be very good for aches and pains like sciatica, arthritis, fibromyalgia ...etc. Acai juice, blueberries, cranberry juice &/or pomegranate juice.....it was try the juice, and up the other, or consider other pain meds / steroids...I don't want to go there.
another day off without much chance to sew.....but did get nice ride with hubs, and fabric afterwards.....always makes a Doctor appointment a bit more tolerable ^_^
Yes, we have a major privately owned highway, similar to your toll roads except no human to take or give tickets...a transponder will lesson the toll fee, if you don't have one you pay administration fee is more than the toll ..I would say that from Toronto to Hamilton fee could be as high as $30-$35.. Not bad if we split the cost.
Paul was busy, he tried to go to lunch three or four times but something came up..kept telling is to wait..finally at 3:45 he said let's go for Chinese..got back at 4:40 and our day finishes at 4:30 .. Should have charged overtime! Lol
Thunder that juice sounds yummy, when you get it could you share??
Thunder, I decided to spend the day downloading coupons for us at as many stores as we may be visiting this weekend..does make a difference especially at Joann's. Can't find a better place to spend our $$$
Ride with hubby is worth putting the sewing machine away! Always tomorrow.
Thought I'd do much tonight ..had a bath, fell asleep in bath so decided what I had planned can wait..early night as those girls will keep me up for the next three days.
yes I will share the recipe when I get it....Hope you have a great time Betty, travel safe, and get some sleep !!!!
Whew - home now. Had a ton of work to do today, and will have the rest of it to do tomorrow! Both people want it done now!
On the plus side - going to have a pizza lunch tomorrow too! Not many people will be in the building, so we decided we'd have a bit of a party for lunch :-)
Awe Susan... that will be fun :). Nice light day. Ding Dong the Witch is OFF Tomorrow...and I'm off Monday... So I'm looking forward to my Friday too....
Thunder LOVE sun passes....because when I start seeing those signs I know I'm close to Disneyworld !
Betty LOVE the Elvis Frog... Perfect :o). Laura waving...how is baby boy? Crissy - great idea for Judy to respond quickly...
Judy - Happy days with a nice surprise visit... isn't it weird when they want to clean their room? DS has been working on his a bit slower than I'd like but it sure does smell better LOL....
Barb Many Hugs for your good news and more prayers headed that way...
LK - I read wrong was surprised you had not heard of satsumas... but then again you are quite west of me... My grandpa was a Satsuma/Orange tree farmer not too far from Suse's area....
They taste /look more like tangerines than mandarin....Do you have satsuma's Thunder?
Dianne.. Love the Fire Engine Red... Hunters won't get me with those ! Love Ladybugs... I read they set them loose in Disneyword to eat the mosquitos. You can buy them here at the nursery...I'd love to do that one day. you just don't see them as much as you used to....
Congrats on the new furniture....
I'll pop back in a bit...
((HUGS))
Mary
Hi y'all ...
Oh Mary, you made me laugh! hahaha Now I have that running through my head. Actually, we just watched the "Wizzard of Oz" the other night. Anyone else? I never miss it. LOL Oh, and I like Satsumas. ☺ Wish I had room for everything I love!
Betty, the service was beautiful. I'll always remember it. Hospice has been remarkable, and so has my friend. Her name is Mary, also. ☺
Susan, that pizza lunch sounds good! Hope everything goes well tmr.
Barb, meant to tell you I'm sending prayers ... I know the waiting has been difficult.
Judy, glad you had fun with family.
Dianne, how are you and Santa Warren tonight? What about all the furbabies?
Laura, have fun with your sister tomorrow!
Debbie, how are those toes? LOL Is everyone treating you good?
Okay, Moses wants me to play Kong ... LOL
BTW, I picked 8 more lemons tonight!!!
Suse - more lemons same size as the other one?
no satsumas, got a few orange trees, could not tell ya what kind..got it written down some where?? also have a few grapefruit trees, a few pear trees, and a tangerine tree. Had a ponderosa lemon, but lost it a few winters back :( it was young and small, and it got way too cold...
the cows next door eat way more of them than we do....I bring bags full into work , and give away. we have tried to donate to local churches, and shelters....no ones wants any :( so much goes to waste / cow food. Hubs keeps saying he is going to cut more down....just too much for us to deal with.....but then we wonder if we decided to sell?? if they would be an added selling point??
Early morning wave to all...
Remember our soldiers today and those of the past...
May we never have need of them in our future!!
We owe them our freedom....
Lazy last night, went straight to bed so look who is up with much to do.
Think all of us in northern country at this time of year have the automatic programming when first getting up to look outside for an indication of what the day will bring weather wise....
It is here, ground covered in a blanket of snow...for you southerners it's a pretty shade of white lol
NOT what I wanted to see this morning..when I let Riley out and Missy in you could almost feel pellets so now hoping it will not turn to freezing rain!
Best I not chat too long, will be back in a bit.
This message was edited Nov 11, 2011 3:10 AM
Betty am I to understand you have snow? Wow. I hope you enjoy your outing and travel safe.
Thunder that is so sad you try to give fruit to shelters and they do not want it.
Love lemons...
Barb that is great news. If there is a test to tell what is what it is a PET scan.
Judy it sounds like you had a great visit. I think the hard part is when they have to leave........
Could I ask all to say a prayer for my brother...he is in the hospital with chest pains and they are not sure what is going on.
He is only 40 this year. I have not told my sister yet as we are not clear what is going on.
Running and waving to all. Have a great weekend.
Oh coffee is on.
Dianne did the furniture arrive?
Coffee is on, no homemade goodies though, anybody bake any?? Starting to be hungry!
got 2 more panels onto the quilt, almost packed so it payed to get up in the middle of the night. Lol
Most definitely saying prayers for your brother Laura..hope it's nothing major!
Omg you should see Thunder's yard, like walking in a commercial orange grove..abundance to say the least..both Cathy and I thanks to Thunder's son, bagged several bags..sooo road trip in order..between Suse's lemons and Thunder's oranges and grapefruits we'll not have to pack a lunch...
Good morning all,
Sounds like you are all ready for your trip today Betty. Did Paul ever say whether you and Suzanne could leave early today? Have safe travels....
Sending prayers for your brother Laura. Praying this is some kind of warning for him.
Got really busy yesterday with my sewing and got two small wall hangings made and half the fabrics cut for Sean's quilt. I would love to post a picture but..... Got 10 containers of tomato/marinara sauce made and four loads of laundry done too. I don't know where this burst of energy has come from but I am going to roll with it. I'll pop in again in a while..I need more coffee!!!
Taking advantage of the energy as well Barb that if I go with the tiredness re early evening and don't fight it and go to bet I'm up and bushy tale..feel so much better for what I'm achieving..
Well we asked for 2:30 but are so hoping he'll call and tell us to leave at 1:00 but highly unlikely. Lol. Cross your fingers for us.
Can't wait to see photo's of your projects..need ideas
Ooops read your post and thought it read you were making marijuana sauce, thought hmmm, good way to rid yourself of pain and no wonder you have energy
Suzanne called, we are leaving early so I can get to the bank for USA funds
Gab later
Morning all. Betty we used to do exactly the same thing - go to bed early and then get up verrry early. Makes your energy level so much better and we would get more accomplished. When we were of the Show Circuit at the end of a 12 hour day on your feet all day with a smile plastered on your face no matter how tired you felt that bed looked so inviting when we got back to the hotel room. Pretty sure Barb and Norm are early to bed early to rise too.
Yes Laura the furniture arrived and I love, love, love it. After all these years it is so nice to look around the BR and see matching wood pieces. They did deliver the wrong colour armoire but left it behind for me to use in case there would be a delay in getting the correct colour. Turns out the have the correct 'honey' colour rather than chocolate in stock so we will get it next Thurs.
Positive thoughts and prayers for your brother Laura.
Way to go Barb! I always capitalize on that burst of energy - what happened to us? We used to get that burst all the time when we wwere younger didn't we? When Warren retired I was dumbfounded by how much I used to accomplish in a day all by myself - always managed to get everything done then by myself but sure was nice to have some help.
Oh Crissy I so wish I had a quarter of the knowledge you have about repairing vehicles. I honestly think that was something that should have had at least a few 'cover' lessons while in HS - it truly is a life skill. Although when you think about it how many life skills were we taught in HS anyway?
Must get a move on and have my shower - off to see the Endo doc in Kingston. She is always 90 to 120 min late for my scheduled apptment. I am hoping that since this time the apptment is in the morning she will be not so late.
Safe travels Betty! No snow here but we did have a brief shower of freezing rain in the night. Ugh!! I had that stuff, give me snow any time.
Dianne
Dianne
Good morning!!
LOL, was going to try and post around 11-11, lol...lots going on today!!
Thanks, yep sister visits are the best...Diane, I know just what you mean. Thunder, the part on the bottom is an Eagle claw, with tear drops, I love the claw as it appears to be holding her knee. Yes, Laura the worst part is everyone leaving! Tears all around, but always with the promise of visiting again sooner!! My niece will be back in January for another showing.
Betty, have a wonderful trip!! We are going to the cottage this weekend too. Kids have no school and it will be the last time we all can go...Jake's got wrestling which will occupy every weekend until some time in February! You asked if we closed up the cottage a while ago, the answer yes but for long weekends we enjoy going, woohooo, a different house for me to clean! LOL...Pamm and Joe are meeting us up there tomorrow! They have been trying to get up all summer, so this will be great, haven't seen them since June.
Thank you very much Mary!!! ROFLOL, I'll be singing Ding, Dong the Witch is off... all day, Ahhh, but sooo glad you'll be able to enjoy a nice long weekend, stress free! hey, sure glad to see that co-workers see too. At least you know your not the only one. Now, One day, maybe you'll get angry enough to close the door and ask her exactly what her malfunction is with you!
Crissy, Thank you..sent off my new cover and Resume yesterday!! OMG, so glad you went to get truck fixed! I love how you handle things!!
LOL, and I'm glad Dave saw the light of why you didn't take them up on the offer!
Laura, Prayers going up! I hope they find out why your brother is having chest pains, also that it's an easy fix...
Thunder, glad you enjoyed the walk with Dave!!
Linda Kay, how's your time with DH, you guys plan to get alot done while he's home? Geeze, I was kind of mad that we are going away, soo much needs to be done around here! but then a ton needs to be done up there too, so who knows maybe we will accomplish something, LOL...
Barb, Thank goodness prayers have been answered, so glad to hear the news from your pet scan. Wow, sounds like you are making great strives on your projects! Don't you think it's time for a visit to Glenview? I could use oodles of help with mine...giggle, giggle. Can't wait for you to get your camera back so we can see your beautiful work...Do you all still have snow? Ackkk, I shouldn't complain, but will anyway, We had flurries yesterday, brrrr it was cold!! And today, back in the upper 50's!!
Thea, so glad to see you post, wow you sure have been busy! Love to see all that you accomplish.
Ok...got to go do some packing!! Humming while I work:
Ding dong, the witch is off, Ding dong the wicked witch is off today!!
OH, Suse, Mouth is watering at the lemmons!! I love the Wizard of Oz too!! Yikes, my kids hate it, said it scares the crap out of em!! sorry to say i missed it this year though...
Waiving Hi Bev, Debbie, hope your adding a bit off progress...
Susan, hope you have a good day too.
Will try and get back before we go...If not Enjoy the day and weekend Everyone,
Love Ya's.
Morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee.
"Follow the yellow brick road"... Yes I watched the movie too! I was so afraid of those flying monkeys years ago.
Judy, you have a nice visit this week end! It has been nice having hubby home, not getting much done around the house, just enjoying his company!
Betty, if she has a debit card, she can use that at the ATM machines and get US dollars?
Glad you are enjoying some R&R LindaKay! yes, likely what I will have to do if I want to shop either than or see what the rates are before crossing over in Duty Free.
Debbie, if you are lurking can you let me know if I'm heading into more snow??? let's hope not, doesn't make for fun weekend..not bad when it's mid winter and you are used to it but first snowfall always seems intimidating.
Dianne, am hoping your doctor is on time for once..nothing like rushing to be on time and you've got to sit forever until your appointment. Do you bring something with you to entertain yourself while you wait? I would imagine you don't want to be away from Santa Warren for too much of the day.
Judy glad you are getting up to the cottage, likely just what you need and having company will be nice..you will be able to show them all that Steve has accomplished over these past 2 years..know time flies but don't think it's been longer than 2 years since you bought out your cousin?
Betty, no snow here....and from what I know, none in Buffalo as yet. South of there they have four to five inches...but NOT in Niagara falls or Buffalo area yet.
Got home safe and sound early this morning. Am about to go to bed as I have a touch of stomach flu.
Am propably going to Take my former friend to Small Claims Court when I can combine it with other errands. Some things I can let go, others I'm like Peter Finch in "Network." "I'm mad as hell and I"m not going to take it anymore." I'm not really mad, just disgusted. Also, he is flat out lying and I have emails to prove it so going to court will not be too upsetting - as it would be if it was my word against his.
I have manderins and lemons and red grapefruit that are ripe. Yumm. Help yourselves.
More later. Trip was good. Made a new friend in the man I'm buying the ambulance from. (It no longer looks like an ambulance but the siren still works.)
hugs, katie
Thank a Soldier today!!! and when ever you see them!!!
cute and quick little story.....
I was wearing a hat with an Army insignia on it, and a young man came up to me and said "you know a rak?" pronounced rock...stands for Rakkasan one of the units my son has been in... I said Yes, my son..he then proceeded to tell me he had been a rak....got out due to injuries.....well I teared up, and reached over and gave him a great big hug, and said Thank you very much, and I wish you well.....he said thanks and walked away............a short time later his wife/girlfriend came back and said thank you, for saying thanks to him.....you will never know how good that made him feel !!!!!
you may feel a little uncomfortable the first few times you walk up to a stranger and reach for his hand, or give a hug.....but I have found that they REALLY appreciate it!!!! and you will feel so good, when you see their smile.....they gave for you...give a little back..it is awesome.....
Wonderful reminder Thunder. Thank you and thank those boys of yours for me will you??
Will make sure I do so Thunder!!
Time is moving slowly..
Susan, you mentioned "Wellington" bear but I think you meant Paddington. He is my favorite bear and he has a book about his adventures. I used to have a Paddington but the dog ate it as she does everything with stuffing.
Radiation is going fine but it leaves me with no energy and no motivation. I just want to sit and veg! With Christmas coming I have things to make and finish. Yesterday I took all the blocks from the three swaps I was in and asked for Christmas blocks ( I have about 35 blocks as well as the three "rows" I got from the row swap), to the sewing house I go to and put them up on the wall. All the ladies had a chance to mix and move the blocks around until we got them the way we wanted. Now I am going to use black to band the blocks and then make a quilt for myself. I will post
pictures of this as we go along.
I seem to have lost the Christmas Exchange thread, the one that Santa Warren picked out names. Can anyone give me the thread?
This is the one Janice. If you have a question, it goes to Dianne (kidneyguy). She will try to get answers for you....
Sorry to hear your tired all the time, but praying your treatments are doing the job!
Just arrived in buffalo, omg Rita arrived at the office realized she forgot her passport so had to go north to pi ck it up...so left at 3:30 rather than 2:30 so hit Toronto traffic..had a good laugh
Only 10 minute wait at border
Out for supper, then midnight shopping. Hope I can keep up!
Waving to all, Nice to see you Janice.
Gab later
Have fun Betty, hope you have good weather for shopping and driving!
Today I missed a Remembrance Day Ceremony - the first 1 since I was 3 years old. It really upset me too that but my Endo apptment was 10:45 am - which is a joke. The hospital did have a minute of silence at 11 am. Sent positive thoughts, vibes and prayers to your soldier and navy boys Thunder.
BBL DH needs me.
Dianne

I worked today, and put a sign up at my desk saying "Lest we forget" with a pic of a poppy.
I told everyone that I was observing 5 minutes of silence at 11, and invited them to join me, from their desks (I feel very private at moments like these - alone with my thoughts, but joined with all around the world who are hoping for peace).
I printed up "In Flander's Fields" and said it to myself after the silence. Felt very emotional about it (I do all the time abouit it).
Well, we have a weather warning for snow tonight - reached 12c today, so was quite warm now that's over with and we're supposed to get a winter storm.
Yes Janice, you're right - I meant Paddington Bear (so named for Paddington Station in the UK). Well, I was Close lol
