Best/Worse/What did I learn today-Chat with friends

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All ! Yes - the Night Shift is late tonight ! Went to the High School Homecoming... DSD2's senior yr. I went to the Band Room just like I did for Four Years... BUT new Band Director... got a lot of hugs from Band Kids, Alumni and Parents who remembered me.... I visited with Son's Girlfriends Mother... like her a lot..and her youngest son is still in Band.
So it was bittersweet... DS did grab the drum at one point and played with the Band again (That is a feature of Homecoming....the Alums come back and play)... but only a few cadences...
New faces, New ways, new traditions... but got to see some familiar as well...yes bittersweet.

Suse - hang on to that 2x4...I may need it next week LOL.... Katie - YAY! Good Dr. appt... great advice.... hope the "new" van does not leak and is a good deal for you...
Crissy - Glad to hear Dave is behaving and was able to show you a good time for Bday....
Judy... ((HUGS)) Thanks for the support re: the boss/daughter issue.... Good advice for Betty too... Love the frame idea... that will save some room....Can you come help me clean tomorrow?

Dianne... Really cool idea for a cane... I may have to look at that website. What is on Quill's head ? Yes - Enjoy the walk.....
Shirley so glad you posted...and so glad you are figuring out a place for your Mom.... I'm sure there are good NH's out there but few and far between....
Betty - That parenting class I've heard of but none of the Kids took a class like that so must not have been mandatory...but I wish it had been.
Another class I had in High School that I wish the kids had ....we had to find a place to rent and make a budget. Can't believe my 3 got through High School and never had to learn that... should have taught them myself.....where does the time go?
Laura - what football teams do you follow ? Saints...I'm sure, right ? LOL....
Well - it's quiet on here tonight I'm sure....
(HUGS)

Morning all, off to breakfast, then to Hamburg Craft show, hobby lobby, Joann's and whatever else we can fit in..restless night..you know me, up every hour on the hour..ann woke up at one point, I said it must be 2 or 3 so she looked at her watch, said it's 6:00' doubted it, looked again and 3:30 so it was indeed a long night.

Mary I programmer through our region twice a year for the area community centre an 'independent living' program..one week it was about food nutrition, then they were given $$ to purchase groceries for next week and sharing easy recipes and cooking techniques the following week was keeping a clean home, another was learning how to present themselves for a job interview, another each were taped doing a mock interview, it was then reviewed to show them where they might improve on their technique, another week budget. Last week of 8 was graduation where parents attended

Oops girls are saying they are waiting on me
Got to run

Hi...Hope your all enjoying this Gorgeous Day!!
Woohoo, great day for a football game...Tonight, Jake's in the third game of the playoffs, so far They are 8/2...They've beat this team before so hoping they will win!
But, if they don't He and Buddy Jerry, very excited as Wrestling begins immediately after football. It's an away game, but only a half hour ride, so We will go because we have friends in the area, will visit them before the game.
Mary, i was thinking about you when we had our Home coming, we do the same with Alumni. We'll this year was special, because it was also our 25th Anniversary of the School, lot's of excitement!! I remembered when you and your classmates went out and Did the dance on the field, smiled as i watched ours...Very impressive most were right on que with the kids!! So glad you got to go in the band and see some of the parents/kids. Love that DS played the drums too!! Sure wish Julia would have played, but that was for the parade and she didn't want to get up that early, oh well...

Betty, sure hope you having oodles of fun in Hamburg!
OMG, just discovered I've washed my cell phone!!! Now it's trashed, not sure when i'll get it replaced, Grrr, so stupid, lolol not me just the washing, first thing the kids said, Now, how am i suppose to reach you?!?

Thanks 101 and all, the house is going to be great when finished...
LOL Linda kay, i guess i never stop cleaning, it's always one thing or another, but soon. I will be able to have time to be lazy, my time is in winter...
Mary, sure be there in a flash...lol but if i come their won't be much cleaning getting done, lol, we'll be visiting and hugging away.

Dianne, I have not forgotten you in my last posts. I think of you and Warren many times a day and at each Prayer fire.
I was very glad to see your last car ride to appointment was a success, you made it so comfortable for him and you. I hope and pray he is as comfortable and pain free as possible...Oh your new walking Cane sounds fantastic! You and Mary will have wonderful Morning Walks! I still enjoy reading about those, and I bet you can send Debbie a waiving hello across the lake signal with the light!! I am really glad to hear there is such a walking stick!!

We had another Prayer fire/memorial Fire last night. It was actually Sabrina's idea. OMG, brought tears to my eyes, she set the whole thing up for her BF Ryan.
It was the anniversary of his father's death. He still has a real hard time with it. It's been 9 years...I Wrapped my arms around him and, wow, He gave me the tightest hug in return... The first time he gave me a hug like that was several weeks ago, he could see i was distraught and offered me a hug, lol I cried then too!
He is always very quiet.

Katie Bear, So glad your Doc appointment was a success. Hope the new Van is equally a success...Sounds like a great way to recycle tires!

Shirley, So glad to see you post!! Sorry to hear about your Mom. I sure hope you and Sister will be able to find a better NH for her.

Well, i have to finish up some things before the game...
Enjoy the Day everyone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

GEAUZ TIGERS!!!

Morning everyone!

Mary, glad to hear your cough is doing better!

Betty, you still out shopping or are you back home?

Lyndonville, NY

Mary, I am not a football fan....but sure can understand. It is like that up here now with the Buffalo Bills. They are usually last place or close too it. So the fact they won a few games is big. I don't hold my breath as it has started out good a few times and then in the bucket as they say!

I have been on a roller coaster here. DH and I are holding each other together I think. Kids are involved and we just need some strong prayers.

Some good news, my right foot has started to move a bit ..and I took a few wobbly steps in the livingroom unassisted. Yesterday was nice out and took a tour around the yard checking my very BLACK dead gardens. They look like "goth" gardens with black vines and morning glories hanging.

Betty my girls went yesterday, said it was very packed, but they had a very good time. Carrie got a wine rack of sorts, and Jeanna got some little "cranky cat" book marks and magnets and some other little odds and ends.

Today is supposed to be in the upper 60's. Told DH we have major "cob web" issues on the ceiling...and if I can see them (legally blind) they are BAD!!! So thats one project and possibly another walke out side.

Have a wonderful day.....Hugs to you all!!
Prayers to Barb, Bev, Shirley, Dianne & Warren....Betty....andeveryone who needs them

Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry your going through so much Debbie, will be saying prayers for you!

So glad to hear your foot is moving, even if it is just a little! That is a good sign!

Lyndonville, NY

Linda, two weeks ago I didn't even have a twinge in my big toe on the right foot. Now I have the "pins and needles" feeling on some of it, and my five toes can bend. Can't feel all of them yet...but they bend. My ankle for the most part still frozen, but can move my foot slightly to the side. Its a start!!! Thank you

Judy, that fire sounds so special. I get hugs like that from Nate, and it just really warms my heart. DH & I are "mom and dad" to him, and when he has to call his parents he refers to them as "the parental unit". Sr. year can be so much fun....and heartbreaking also. I hope it all goes smoothly with the kids.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

So happy to hear how you are progressing Deb. Every day is a discovery for you and it is exciting to hear the smile in your voice!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Back home, taking a quiet 5 minutes to myself and then will unpack, tired out/shooed out and I get to do it all over again next weekend.

Almost a shop tll you drop with these gals as well. Lol. Taking a toll, slept about 4 hrs Friday night and maybe if I push it 2 hrs. Last night..nothing worse than seeing two people in deep sleep and you get to watch movies all night! Won't be a late night although spent my $$$ at Joann's and would love to do a bit more of the quilts with some of the fabric..

Debbie, went to Hobby Lobby near galleria mall, bought some great brushes..went to Joann's on Military road and lo and behold big sign saying hobby lobby, grand opening tomorrow so guess I'll go see what specials the have next weekend

craft show was packed, spoke to a few vendors and don't think there were mega buyers..bought some earrings to match a scars and gold pin, nice sweater to finish off Suzanne's christmas gift, a primitive trio candle holder that I and Ann will make to have a few gifts on hand and that's about it for the craft show...

Girls filled the vehicle ..got to border, young man asked where we had been, said hamburg craft show, asked if there was anything cool..said no, wished there was..didn't ask how
much we spent just said enjoy your day!
Omg you should have seen the line up crossing over to USA for the Buffalo Bills game, bet it would take 1/2 day to cross..you have to live football to go through that.

Sorry to here trauma is go g on at your place but thrilled about the improvement..what a thrill for you..sending prayers and hugs ! Glad that Nate brings you joy..

Mary glad the meds are working..Was just thinking between being in Buffal and having you cheat for Tigers I'm not sure who I should be routing for...do they ever play against each other?

Off for hot bath, unpack, maybe a nap..gab in a bit..waving to all others I've missed, will try to get back this evening

Hope it's sunshine in your neck of the woods just as it is here..almost 55 and sunshine all day!

Thea/Dianne and Santa Warren, did you get this warm weather?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you had a great time Betty, sounds like it is time for a nap? Did you get any ideas for our online Christmas workshop?

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All !

LK - Thanks for the Geaux Tigers! Thought about you today... DH taught me a few things about the Cassia plant... he had me clip all the seed pods off of one.... I think I took your cuttings off the "sterile" plant which would be the better one ...then we went to Lowes and they had a whole pallet of them on sale....

DEBBIE ! ((HUGS)) I do know those teens can sure throw us for a loop from time to time... So prayers going out hoping the rollercoaster comes to an end and glad you and DH are pulling together... YAY on the wiggles.... so so relieved..... Goth Gardens LOL.... will remember to send you some Canna's when you are ready.
So glad you are there for Nate. I know it's difficult for those with crazy parents even when they have good ones there to support them.... Remember DSD1's graduation, their crazy bio mom really hurt her feelings ...didn't even stay through the ceremony.... just left....

Barb - Prayers for you too... ((HUGS))

Betty - LOL ... I'm still learning about Football but I do know the LSU Tigers will never play the NY Buffalo's so you may cheer for BOTH teams... and Thank you for cheering on LSU... Remember we are the "Acadiana" team.... lots of French Canadian descendants.... LOL

We had great weather... so got a lot done outside... I planted some Crocosmias in a pot... and put out 3 bales of Pine Straw Mulch (for the first time)....
Now that I have "house plants" I really need to learn not to water them too much.... Hubs had me trained to water plants in pots every day ....but that was when they were outside in 98 degree temps....

Suse - not sure if I told you but now reading Peony in Love...

Looking for my night shift ! Dianne? Susan? Etc ?
Hugs,
Mary

GOOOOOO San Francisco 49ers!!!!

and

PIG SOOOOOOOOIEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

Glad the Tiger's won, that helps Arkansas!!

Betty so glad you had a good time! Maybe some year I'll be able to come up there for that. I think I want to take a trip to Canton, TX. Look that one up online!

Well I'll be back in a little while. I'm going to take tomorrow off to get Dave's truck in the shop again to get his front end fixed, and we're supposed to have a tornado outbreak tomorrow. JOY!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Now see Crissy how much I know about football..lol

Yikes, tornado, not a time to be driving. So there definately is problems with the truck??
Going to check out Canton Texas..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I love that candle holder, the glass parts and candles are something we can get locally, So you would not have to ship those.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here we go, anyone interested in joining in????

Betty I also love the candle holder. Endless possibilities. As Linda said we can purchase glass and candles.
Crissy tornados? When is the season for those over?
Beautiful sunny day.

KATIE thought we moved threads because I had another link so am posting her post here

I'm back - Mail Max was closed over the weekend. I've been to the laundromat twice - once after each day of rain, to dry out my bedding. Wrote to my "friend" he has 30 days to return the deposit I sent him over three years ago for a truck which he has been driving for two years (after getting it repaired with my money). Very sad. His daughter and I both feel terrible about what he's doing; he's just obsessed with what he can get away with.

The man I met here who sells a lot of used vehicles is very nice. He has an ambulance-turned-van which I may get. It's big enough for me to live in while on the road/visiting Amma/ recuperating from surgery or whatever. He also lives in the area and will help when/if I have the surgery.

Debbie, you will be walking with no problem before you know it. Then you can look back at your posts here and see how far you have come.

I'll be lucky if I don't get pneumonia - my feet are cold. Knowing the problems with the van I travel with lots of quilts but I'm really down about this situation.

Got an email from Steve who really wants me to have the ambulance so I'm waiting to meet with him. I'll probably have to come back to go to Small Claims Court with my ex-friend. I hate this stuff.

I found halloween packets of crayons for Christmas presents along with some "body parts" candy and temporary halloween tatoos - enough to keep the kids busy for a day or two. My van is getting seriously filled up. The candy should arrive tomorrow and I can then head for home.

I have a twenty-five year friendship going down the tubes. Can't think of much else. Glad I've met Steve as he's a terrific person from the two times I've met him. He's also a contractor and may be able to help get me supplies to finish parts of my house. I'm not giving him any money without a written contract - and he wouldn't take it if I offered.

Love you all, sorry to be so self-absorbed.

KATIE..when you get a chance, could you possibly delete your post on the 5th annual Christmas Craft thread..yikes, I should have explained that link a bit more..lol...
coming back to read your post in a sec. Katie

Glenview, IL

Hi...
Well, Today I was off to the most Fantastic start!!
But now, I am just bashing myself all over the place, practically in tears, in fact probably will have a good cry.

Yesterday, I decided on a whim to check out job postings, usually not on the weekend. But thought what the heck, save me some time for Monday, right?
Well, not even an hour of searching, found a position that fits me to a T, in fact, it was like reading my Resume...Very exciting! I researched the company, printed everything I could and sat and wrote my Killer Cover letter. This morning, I applied to the position and sent the required cover and salary info...As usual, Went to my inbox to check confirmation of the application...My Heart Sank immediately reading the Description, I didn't put the entire Position on my cover letter!!
This was just too good to be true. They probably won't even look at my resume now.
I can't believe I made such a STUPID mistake, guess I'll be cleaning for the rest of my life.

Hope your day's are going better then mine.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Our tornado 'season' goes from April to June, then from mid October to mid December, BUT tornado weather can happen with any clash of hot/cold air, which can happen at any time of year.

Judy I have done that, that SUCKS!! BUT you never know what people are thinking so don't get too negative about it, that's worse than counting your chickens before they hatch. Also, Everything happens for a reason, so if they don't call you I guarantee you didn't want to work for that company. Girl the best jobs are always posted on Sundays, the best time to look for a job online or in the paper is on Sunday, never wait til Monday, you'll probably miss something.

Oh Katie, hope you don't get pneumonia. I lost a best friend after a long period of time too, I know how it feels and it's not fun. Hang in there sweetie, you'll be alright. Hope you get your ambulance van!

Ok, I caught Dave in a very hysterical stupid lie, he thinks he's so clever! We're still diagnosing what is wrong with the truck and trying to not throw money into it. We put new bushings in it, and it helped, but it hasn't fixed the problem, that was $200 at Benton Transmission and Complete Auto Care.
Dave told me about a month ago that he got a recall on it for a bad ball joint about 3 months before he got this job, so he took it to Orr Toyota to get it fixed, and it's been clunking ever since, so it should be under warranty. I agreed to take it to the dealership this time to find out what is clunking and if it's something they messed up then I get it fixed at no charge. I called Orr Toyota this morning to make an appointment for tomorrow morning and I asked the guy when it was in for that recalled ball joint. You All, that ball joint was recalled and replaced in January of 2008! No, it has not been clunking since Orr Toyota did the work and it obviously won't be under warranty lol
Dave also told me that he took it to Williams Tire to have the U joint looked at in June, that's about when it first started and at the time it sounded like that's what was clunking. I got a wild hair and decided to call Williams Tire to find out exactly what they did, turns out he had it in for a 90,000 mile checkup, they never looked at the U joint because Dave never told them too!!
This is why I do everything myself, if I don't I end up doing it anyway.
So I sent Dave a text that said, "Ball Joint was fixed by Orr in Jan 2008." he responded, "Too busy to talk" Yeah I bet he's too busy to talk, trying to finagle his way into a new car when I've already told him he can go buy a cheap commuter car, just go do it. Sheesh

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All ;

Oh goodness Crissy - Surely he'll have to pay for a new vehicle with his new job? He's not trying to get you to do it? You know so much about cars... that's so so good....
Judy - I agree with Crissy... you never know... it sounds like you put a partial description but not the whole one? Anyway... if you know the company I'd just walk right in and talk to the person hiring.
Explain your excitement to apply... yada yada...
Katie - don't you let anyone get away with stealing from you gal.... but I'm a big believer in Karma...
Laura - our Passionflower in 8B is dying down but they will all pop back up (in the yard too!) in Spring.... I don't remember it being too too cold in your area ?

Betty - you got some good treasures this weekend? Take any pics ?

My Bi*#()&$tchy boss is back this week.... she's already started in on me so it's going to be a long week... BUT ... HER Boss....was very nice to me and helped me out this morning... Hm....

Morning everyone. My goodness where is everybody.

As Suse says I have been MIA. The last 3 days were rough for my DH. The pain was incredible and he is really feeling his lungs filling up so is rattling. The BreakThru meds hardlly seem totouch the pain. Thankfully we are going to see the Palliative Care doc today. On top of this my sweet Quill had another one of her spells yesterday and scared the bejeebers out of me.

Need to go but make sure you all do something nice for yourself today.
Dianne

Edited because I can't even type my name in correctly!

Morning all,

Dianne, I'm so sorry to hear that Santa Warren is in so much pain and the meds not working..with this little pain I'm having and feeling sorry for myself I can't imagine how overwhelming it must be for you to be watching Santa Warren suffer so..at a loss I'm sure.. remind me to tell you about my episode re Roger and pain one day. Awww poor Quill..
Sending hugs and prayers..

Sailor is feeling a bit better, I truly think it was because Cathy was picking her up and walking to her house. It's a bit of a distance for an old girl so asked her not to do so, hated to because I know Sailor would enjoy it but hips won't take it. How old did you say Quill was?

Judy, sorry to hear about the mishap, they did get part of it did they? was there a deadline and can you re-submit..surely if they had an opportunity to read your resume they would know you are the person for them..did you re-submit it this morning? No wonder you felt like crying you poor dear!

Mary, does your boss's boss know how she's treating you? Drats, perhaps you should confront her, wanting to know what it is you are doing that annoys her so?

Crissy, I'm with the gals, let Dave look after the vehicle repairs and now he is in full time employment let him go purchase a vehicle and cover the payments..yikes you've kept things afloat for so long...surely he's capable of doing so!!! Think a trip to Texas is in order..leave Dave at home, I'll fly down and off we go..lol

Katie, praying you get the ambulance van..omg just think of all you can put into it..border patrol will surely check out what goodies you are carrying back. Not nice that you've been taken advantage of..sometimes it's best to accept it as a learning curve..never to do again..he'll get his one day!!!! Hope you are feeling better..

Debbie, are you off and running???

be back in a bit, do think I started this post around 9am..got busy, wrote a few lines and now on the run again..

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning,

No, not off and running yet. I have been trying to take a few steps unassisted, but end up scaring myself. I can do it in the kitchen as their are counters to hold onto. The feeling in my feet and lower legs are driving me crazy. A cross between "pins and needles" and "rubber bands" on my toes.

Dianne, hugs for you and Santa Warren. His immune system sure can't handle any "rattling" in the lungs right now, so very good you are going to the doctor today. Safe travels. I sure hope Quill is doing better. It has been my experience when animals have those type of spells...it affects/effects their eyesight a bit. SO, she could have just seen shadows near her...and moved away.

Judy, lots and lots of hugs for you too.

Mary, you also!

Crissy...saying hello and waving...

Thunder, Thea, Suse, Katie.....Bev, Shirley.....everyone...waving, jumping up and down and sending a happy day your way.

Debbie

mulege, Mexico

OK, I'm back with you. Got a very nasty email back from my "friend." Luckily, what he alleges is countered by his previous emails and lack of responses. Hard choice whether to let it go but I'm tired of "friends" ripping me off.

Will meet Steve and make the down payment on the ambulance-turned-van tomorrow. I'll be able to get it paid off in a couple of months and he may also be able to sell my current van for me.

I'm tired and beat. I hate conflict but that is part of why several former friends have felt they could get away with ripping me off.

If my candy for the kids comes later today I should be able to head for home after I meet with Steve tomorrow morning, sign a contract and give him a deposit.

Looking forward to getting home and focusing on preparations for Christmas.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sometimes Katie you just have to let things go otherwise they win by taking the joy away from you..you've much to be grateful for..now take your time going home, no rush!!!

Debbie, long haul but you are improving day by day..must be hard though for someone to be so active then come to a standstill!

Looking at the clock, another 5 minutes and off I go

Almost tempted to call Ann and say I'm just too tired for t.v. bingo then I think 'could be the week we win' lol

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

((((((((((((((((((((((((((Debbie, Dianne))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) lots love too

Baton Rouge, LA

Win that Bingo Betty ! We need you to buy that RV for our Road Trip ! After you pick up Crissy... remember I'm not that far from Texas !
Awe... Everyone needs big hugs today.... I've got some for everyone... Dianne.. hope Santa Warren has a good visit with the Doc.
(HUGS) For Quill as well... Debbie - take it slow gal... would be just like you to rush recovery...I know everyone needs you right now but take care of Debbie first...
Katie - I hate conflict too... sometimes get torn between just trying to make something a lesson but then you feel so used.... abused....

Good to see you Thunder... have you Skyped your Soldier/Sailor/GK's lately ?

I'll pop back in a bit. The Teens do not know this but DH and I are planning a weekend in New Orleans... just need to get DH well first...

I'm looking online at restaurants... QUITE a few to choose from 23 different responses on Facebook ! Lots of seafood but I'll try some other things too Betty so I know where to take you.....

Suse - reading "Peony in love" never read a book before where the #1 character dies and I still have HALF the book to finish !

LOL
LOVE you all

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Good morning everyone...rise and shineeeeee...been up already for 2 hours...ever since we changed the time I have a hard time sleeping past 4am!! By 7am I am done the housework and primpt and primed and NO place to go...lol

Dianne...my heart just goes out to you and Warren...I hope and pray that the Doc was able to give Warren something to ease his pain. and poor Quill hope she/he is feeling better too. I can not even imagine what all this does to you dear Dianne...seeing your soulmate in such pain and not really being able to take the pain away or make them feel all better. You are such a strong and remarkable woman and one of these days, we WILL meet in person, and then we will have an enormous Hugfest. Sending you lots of love and many hugs and know you are always in my prayers.

Debbie...keep on wiggling those toes and keep on taking those steps...I am so proud of you for keep on trying and this too shall pass...you will see...next year you will be chasing butterflies and bunnies around in the yard. You made me smile with your post...I pictured you jumping up and down waving!! lol *jumping up and down too and waving like a madwoman toward the south/east" (at least I think you are south/east of me...LOL). Hope and pray that you too have a wonderful sunshine day today.

Betty looks like you hit the Motherload with your shopping trip to the USA!! Oh and I soooo love the candle holder that we are making in the Christmas workshop this year!! Are you going shopping again this weekend? I went last Saturday to a local craftshow and it was pretty disappointing...they just had the sameeeee old stuff they had last year...nothing exciting at all. On Sunday we went to Ottawa to a craftshow and boy what a difference!! Pretty and different things but lotssss of $$$. Ended up buying Buckwheat pillows for DH and I, and I must say I sleep alot better during the night and through the night and NO sore neck in the morning. Hope that you are feeling a lot better too painwise.

Barb...lots of hugs and prayers for you too...always on my mind and in my heart. You must be keeping busy with quilting and x-stitching...can`t wait to see the finished projects!! I loved the picture on the ChristmasCraft Thread of sean and your daughter and it is sooo neat to be able to say..."hey I sat on that chair and I helped you cook on that stove!!" lol...Miss you and Norm!!!

Kathy...hope your trip back to Mexico goes uneventful. As to your former friend...get rid of him...no need to try to save a relationship that is just agrevating you and hurting you. You'll see how liberating it is to shed so called friends that are negative and hurtful and thrive on Drama. Bon Voyage and safe travels.

Crissy!!! OMG I think I forgot to wish you a Happy birthday!!! Anyways happy belated and my wish for you is that the coming year will be better then the last, with more love and always good health.

Mary I hope that this week is better then the last and that your boss will ease off with being mean to you. Just "punish" her with kindness and sweet sarcasm and a smile...that is what I always do with people that think they can be mean or rude to me. It confusses the bejibbers out of them...lol..and usually they back off :)

Susan...how is the rumcake business going!! If I would bake something like that I would be tempted to always "try" to see if it is good...lol...and how is your new job coming?

Judy...you are doing and amazing job with the landscaping!! You have more energy then the energizer bunny!!! Could you bottle some for me? I sure could use some of it...lol...As for your job...it will come...never give up hope!! Big hugs to you and I love the story about the memorial fires...beautiful tratidion to have for sure.

Shirley so good to see you post and I am so sorry about your DM and I hope and pray that she makes a full recovery. Sounds like you and your sister made the best arrangements for her living with your sister...she will get the care she needs, plus she is surounded by family and that is the best medicine :)

LindaKay and Laura what have you two been up to? Busy sewing and crafting for the Holidays?

Well I better get moving...have binding to sew on a Wall Hanging and this afternoon is my Crafters Meeting with local Ladies and of course have to go and shop a little at my LQS...lol...always need just one more piece of fabric for a project...LOL
Wishing you all a great sunshine day
Love and lots of hugs for everyone.

Thea, I have been busy making a rag quilt and placemats for Christmas gift's, but Hubby is home on leave for this week and next, so I am trying to limit my computer time!
