YAY...I just saw 2 large flocks of Canada geese flying NORTH!!!
Does that mean we are skipping Winter this year?? lol
Forgot to ask how Bev is doing!! Any more pictures of your Kitten?? I am so glad you have a new companion and I know it will lift your spirits having someone to cuddle with :)
Alsooooooo forgot to ask how Suse is doing!! You have been pretty quiet, hope everything is good allllllllll the way down south!!Busy readying new books?

Well now I am reallyyyyyy off to do some sewing...lol
Best/Worse/What did I learn today-Chat with friends
Good morning,
Thea I am with you....have been up at the "crack of dawn" since the time change. Ever since I was in the hospital and it was so noisy...I haven't slept "in" as you would say. I have no reason to get up in the morning except to take the dog out and feed the furbabies....but here I am awake at 5:30 or 6:00.
I just sat on the back step while the dog was doing her business, and it is so so nice out. Even for this time of the morning it is actually warm. They said we broke a record "high" yesterday of 70! Of course they ruined it by saying "snow" this weekend possible.
Betty, is it THIS weekend you are coming back over to the states? My mind is boggled.
Dianne, lots of prayers sent your way yesterday and today also for you, Warren & Quill.
Think I will join you and Mary on that morning walk.
Katie, I hope all works out for you. You do not need any more struggle with those problems. I know all the kids will enjoy the treasures you found for them.
Thunder, you sure are busy. I swear you ladies just all keep going...fingers so busy with crafts and other projects. I might have my son get out my "craft box" today and start some projects.
Tonight is the CMA awards....and I am geared for my hunky cowboy men watching. I have enjoyed the silly Brad Paisley and Carrie commercials all week.....my favorite is the one with the Muppets and he takes off with Miss Piggy and leaves Carrie. lol
OK, needing some coffee and someone forgot to hit the "start" button. lol
Have a wonderful morning, check back in later.
Debbie
Morning, looks like rain is moving in along with your Canada Geese Thea!
No winnings, hardly even got to put bingo chips down on the cards. Ann said the weekend shopping about did her in and was quite tired. Had Kyle not dropped in for a visit at 8pm think I'd have been in bed by 9pm, but, he wanted to download new program updates for my ipad..have to start with main computer so he stayed on until 10:30pm..he was just a gabbing, Ann and I kept looking at each other. He started out by telling me that he has an interview at Walmart this afternoon..had 15 minute phone interview and the lady told him he was the best she had spoken to, thought he'd be a good candidate..hope she didn't get his hopes high. Then he helped Ann with paypal and went on to show us that in his business course they set up a system where they started him out with $150.00 for stock market and he's now inside of a few weks made $57,000...told him I'd best give him some money to play on the real market..lol
Up early as well, set my alarm for 5:00am rather than 5:30am and didn't change the time back..yikes that is 4am..but,
I managed to sew and finish 3 more panels on 2nd quilt so now 4 more and the 2nd insert is all but done...moving right along!!!!
Debbie, did not see that commercial, must pay more attention, I to want to see some eye candy. Yes, I am leaving with the girls Friday afternoon..it's a long weekend for you isn't it? will it be the Friday or the Monday...hope no long waits at the border. Had your weather all week but they are calling for cold and possibly a few flurries tomorrow..know it's a coming, might as well get used to it.
Thea, think it's hard to get excited at craft shows when we do so many of the crafts ourselves and are creative..probably why I don't walk out with bags full. Next weekend I'm taking a few friends and we are going to
the Markham Craft Show, 5 large buildings worth of goodies..probably about 1/2 the size larger than Hamburg. Been a few years since I've gone so am looking forward to it. I am especially looking forward to GANZ wharehouse sale, they have items worth $20-25 for $5 , lots of $50 for $10-$15 and lots of misc. for $2 or $3 ..affords me to purchase and have items on hand should someone drop in at christmas or I can use for Christmas stockings.
I AM looking forward to staying home..been on the road so much that I'm missing my 'me' alone time!
On Monday night when I got home from work I couldn't believe it, Cathy had worked all day raking leaves..she's such a help. Told her I'd pay for her day, didn't want to take it but I am so appreciative because I could not with my arm being as it is do any raking. On the weekend I bought her earings, miniature stones mixed with her birthstone for looking after my furries..can't believe what you can purchase at Kohl's for limited $$$, the earings were $100. on for $24.97...what a bargain.
LindaKay, you will have to post photo of your rag quilt and placemats..I find when you are all showing your wares I get spurts of energy! Ohhh got your quilt block, it's gorgeous..can't wait to set it in a project. You are doing well with your injured hand.
Laura, is this the same sister you recently made a trip to see and made the quilt for? Seems the bonding that went on is working. How did your day go with the witch Mary? Looking at flights and car rentals for a week, can you believe me, road warrior that I am, not feeling confident with the way I'm feeling to take off on my own..looking between Christmas and New years so keep notes on the restaurants..Cajun food..yummy in the tummy...will research grave yards..
Debbie you would have great fun with Mary and I on our walks. This morning we had to go a bit later because the hunters were out but still got to see a doe and her fawn in the 1 meadow. I think they knew they were hiding in a great spot. These goofy brillant coloured hats we have to wear certainly alerts people to the fact we are coming. Storm and Quill absolutely hate their orange scarves but they have to wear them for 2 weeks like it or not.
Gorgeous weather here today! Nice and bright too. Oh Thea lol at the birds I sure hope it means we are skipping winter.
Need to answer the door. BBL
Dianne
Dianne, aren't you terrified even with the garb you and the doggies are wearing that a trigger happy hunter might shoot??? yikes, think you and Mary ought to find another place for your morning walks
I's baaaaaaaack - lost this thread around Nov 3rd!!
OH Finally able to come on and say HI!!!
As far as the truck, he can't do anything about it because he doesn't have any time off he can take at work to get it in the shop, I have 2 weeks vacation, a birthday day, and tons of sick leave so either he drives it til it breaks, which if it breaks and the front end falls apart while he's going 75mph down the freeway it could easily kill him and I'm not ready to be a widow yet, or I just take a day off and get it fixed and not worry about it anymore.
SO
At the shop yesterday they found 3 of the 4 bolts that keeps the transmission in place and not falling out of the bottom of the vehicle gone, the 4th one was loose, so yes that would have been catastrophic if that 4th bolt had come out with him on the freeway. Then came the fight, doubting that helped with the clunking on the left side front tire when I got the truck back I turned a hard left in the parking lot and got a huge CLUNK! Soooo I spun it around, peeling out, and parked it and walked back into the Service Dept and said to the service manager, "Chris, it's not fixed, it's still clunking." He said, "Well Mrs. Ramsey you know the tires are chewed up." I said, "Tires don't cause a metal to metal clunk on the left front." He said, "Well you know it's got 95,000 miles on it and it needs a new timing belt and serpentine belt, which we can put on for you right now. We would give you top dollar for it too, just the way it sits, everyone is looking for your identical truck."
I said, "I know it's got 96,349 miles on it. Chris, check it out, my dad's a mechanic and I grew up working on cars with him and I still do now by myself as he lives up in Joplin, Missouri. You can't tell me that a Serpentine belt makes the front left side tire clunk." He just gave me this big blank stare. I said, "I want a mechanic, right here, right now!" He said, "Yes ma'am." and instantly there was a mechanic standing right beside me. I took him for a spin out in the parking lot, it clunked, he took it right back to his bay and found there are two metal mounts, one stays stationary when the steering wheel is turned, the other turns with the steering wheel, and when they meet they clunk together, and if you're in a hard left turn and moving it scrapes and clunks out of place. He put some heavy duty grease on it and I think the stupid thing is fixed.
Anyway, the truck was done at around 9:30am so I called my friend Christy and we went shopping all day long and we had a blast!! (another reason I take it myself) I bought 2 pairs of boots, my dad a Christmas present (Elvis Mr. Potato Head,) and some vanilla extract from TJ Maxx. What was even better is we were in a tornado watch all day and I didn't worry about it hardly at all. That's Progress!!!
Got home, made Zucchini bread, Dave got home, I explained what was wrong with his truck and told him they wanted to give me top dollar for it and the he saw nothing but dollar signs, "Why didn't you trade it in???" OMG really?? He said, "Honey, you could have traded it and bought me a Yaris that I can commute in and we could have made money." I said, "Ok, what would we do without a truck then, you haul compost all the time, we need to get these dead cut up trees out of here, what would we pull the trailer and haul the 4-wheelers with? We have to have a truck." He said, "Well that's true, I guess it's good that you kept it then. I swear all the man sees is dollar signs and dirt.
Thank you Thea! I don't mind the birthday that keeps on giving!!
Waving back Debbie!!

Crissy - glad it's fixed now!!
Susan I edited it because I hit send before I wanted to lol
lol
Almost thought I saw a snowflake or two on mybway home, must have been my imagination..
Crissy, what a way to go girl, seems to many men give a run around thinking women know nothing about vehicles, he would be right when it comes to me but Lordy you are well versed in maintenance..bet you even know how to change a tire. Lol
Finally you got your boots..thought of you on the weekend when we were in a boot/shoe warehouse..so many to pick from!
Susan glad you found us
Had my bath, laying on the couch trying to tahr it easy. Should, big should go and work on the quilt but it's dountful
Hello To All !
Thea - hope you are right about those geese.... I still can't figure out this bird thing... think I see them flying your way... aren't they supposed to be coming this way ? Debbie - Hubs turned the CMA on and immediately I thought "I know what Debbie's watching " !LOL
Then the camera panned to Vince Gill so I said to Hubby... "Boy Vince has sure gained some weight from back when he and I used to hang out "..... ROFLOL....
Thanks Betty & Thea... I didn't give Witchy much of my time today... so that was nice. Had lunch with 5 co workers... they all agree that she treats me so unfairly...
Said they wish she would shut her door when she fusses at me....
You know... Now I'm glad she doesn't so at least she shows her colors to all...
Crissy - so glad you know your stuff re: cars. Wish you could have been at the oil change place... yesterday they start telling me I need this flush that flush... drain water or it'll freeze... I said... "well we are supposed to have Highs of 80 degrees all week.... "
Since when has something in my car ever frozen in Louisiana? LOL
Susan was just thinking I love that you have your new job but we haven't seen you much lately ! Got to remember us girl !
Dianne... I didn't realize why we had to wear those colorful scarves... just thought the colors were so pretty... :o) Yes Deb... please join us for our walk.... so serene !
I'll pop back in a bit... Hope my night shift is back... have really missed you all !
((HUGS))
Mary
PS: Betty - ya'll need to come visit in April.... After Christmas my yard will be brown leaves and sticks... LOL
Well Santa Warren did not get a very good check up with the Palliative Care/Pain Managment Oncologist yesterday. She is very concerned about how downhill he has gone in the last 2 weeks. He has just started using a cane and it came out at the apptment that the doc had recommended he get a walker and USE it at his last meeting with her. The one and only time I didn't go with him too. Grrrrr! She said she just knew he wasn't going to tell me so if for some reason I can't make it when he sees her she will email me her notes.
Raining here now, I knew it was going to, my body told me so. Those Weather Liars need to listen to my body. Thea I bet you knew it was going to rain too! Betty I would like to think it wasn't a snowflake but I also saw some this afternoon. Since neither of us had been drinking I think the 4 letter word is sooner than we think or hope.
Mary I am glad that your coworkers can see your Bi**** Boss is riding you. If for nothing else you know it is not just you feeling like she is doing it.Wear your wellies tomorrow morning, we will need them!
Need to get the dogs in as it is getting really nasty out there.
Dianne
Awe Dianne....
Very HUGE Gentle HUGS coming your way... I think I like your Doc though... good for her for the email idea...
So sorry for all you are going through... wish I could "beam" myself up there right now...
wow - SNOW... something we used to never see here...and I hope not to this winter....
We should get a cold night tomorrow night... maybe 34*.....
I'll check back (HUGS)
PS: Are my Wellies my Rain Boots ?
Mary
Mary - I would NEVER forget this group of lovely ladies (and Santa Warren)!!
Dianne - how lovely that she will "keep you in the loop" about her notes on the appointment! I'm sure this is making you feel better :-)
yes, Mary - Wellies are "Wellingtons" as in Wellington Bear, the little bear with yellow rain boots and rain slicker, and his yellow rain hat of course lol (does anyone know Wellington Bear? English toy bear and they did a children's book about his adventures! Boy, I'm aging myself lol)
Hi y'all
Sorry I've been MIA but don't know where time goes. Dianne, I'm just sending many hugs to you and prayers for Warren. So sorry he didn't get a good report. How is Quill today? It upset me so much to read about the last seizure ... how scarey for you!
Hi Mary ... glad you like the books. I haven't started anything good lately. Seems I've been busy. I've been going through papers, closets, etc. You wouldn't believe some of the things I've found!
Debbie, so excited to hear about all your wiggly toes!! Shhh on the "S" word! Tell me it ain't so! LOL Our weather has been gorgeous lately, but rain is predicted for the next couple of days and then some cooler temps will be moving in.
Omgosh Mary, meant to comment on that boss of yours. It's a good thing she's keeping her door open. Did you know that Billy Graham always kept his open? I think that shows the true character of a person. Apparently she doesn't even know she ought to be ashamed of herself.
Betty, wow at your trip. Sounds like you had a wonderful time.
Katie, I agree with everyone else ... just let go. Sometimes it's hard, but you'll be better offf in the long run. It's sad, but I guess we've all been down that road ... Hugs to you. Did you get your ambulance? I've never known anyone except EMT's who drove them. LOL
Man oh man, we sure do have a lot of tallented people on this thread. I can't believe y'all adopted me. There's not a crafty bone in my body ...
Okay, I'm not good at remembering to speak to everyone, but you're all in my thoughts and prayers ... Here's a picture of a Meyer lemon I picked off my tree. I used it when I did rotisserie chickens last night. I put an egg by it to give you an idea of it's size.
Wow on the lemon!! and I'm not good at remembering to speak to everyone eitherr - welcome to the club LOL
Thank you Susan ! I have seen pictures of Wellington Bear... so that's where "Wellies" comes from !you know I don't even have a pair of Wellies? Well - I'll find some for tomorrow... Dianne...
I actually think there are some in my closet that I've never put on... hand me downs from my niece....
Suse - I'm jealous... that is the #1 thing I need to do around here is go around and go through stacks of paper.. I accused DH of being a Hoarder the other day... I'm so sick of his "piles" of stuff... he never will get the time to go through them.... Suse... I'm "with" you ... NOT a crafty one here... DH is ...but I'm not... so just in wonder at the talent when I see all these pics...
WANT the Meyer lemon! DH does too... so it *may* happen one day...
We have oranges and Satsumas in abundance right now.... passing them around to everyone and can't eat them fast enough.... wish I could send you all some....
Here is a HUGE bowl of them... please take all you can....
((HUGS))
Mary
Wellington is a place in England, and I suppose either it was named for the boots or the other way around, or perhaps there was a Duke Of Wellington who wore them. I'm not sure...... will have to Google it, I suppose lol
Morning everyone! Wicked weather here last night, I knew it was going to rain even if the Weather Liars said NOT!! Can't trick my body!!
Don't fret Mary I have an extra pair of wellies and we can stuff the toes with socks if we need to. Mine are fire engine red but I want to get a pair that have lady bugs on them. I use them alot with our weather but I must say they are not a warm boot. Only pair of boots that your feet can get cold in during the heat of the summer.
New bedroom furniture arrives today so yesterday I did a mad dog clean of the bedroom. Wow does the room ever look big with only the bed in there!
Betty how are you feeling? Your pain under control?
Suse I am very envious of you being able to grow lemons. I lovelemon! Email me one would you please! And you Mary have my mouth watering!!
Wondered where you were Susan but just thought your new job might be tiring you out a bit.
Barb what are you making these days? I know you can't be without a project.
LK enjoy your days off with your DH. Take it from me and I am sure Betty would agree make everyone count while you can.
Need to go help DH get out of bed. Will BBL.
Dianne
Mary, I had to Google Satsumas. I now know they are mandarin oranges! Sure wish you could send me some?
Dianne, sorry to hear of the bad report for his Dr. Sending you lots of thoughts and prayers!
Good morning everyone. Just want to thank everyone for all the prayers and to let you know that so far they seem to be working!!! I got the report back from my PET scan. Of the four nodules they found in the lung, only one shows up on the scan and it is tiny. The Dr wants me to see the gastroenterologist about the bile duct and cyst on the liver and then we will make a plan of action. I guess I need to have one of those tests that is like an endoscopy only more involved (whatever that means??) Need the gastro office to call with an appointment. So the waiting continues...
I've been busy finishing up a few projects that were started. Hope to get my camera back today (Brandon has had it) so I can take pictures. I've nearly finished another Mariner's Compass wall hanging for my nephew and a couple of Christmas gifts. And now I'm catching up on all the ongoing things like my mystery quilt and my BOM. And of course, working on Sean's quilt too. So I'm keeping as busy as possible.
I'm so looking forward to Betty's Christmas project this year also.
My daughter just walked in with coffee so I'm off to chat for a while. BBL....
Good Morning!
Dianne I'm sorry Warren didn't have a good dr appt. Good of her to email you what she said, men don't tell anyone what really went on at the appointment.
SUSE!!! Glad to see you!!
Barb glad those nodules are tiny. Waiting is not fun, I'd be calling them lol
Ooooooo I love Mandarins!
Good Morning!!
THANK YOU everyone for the hugs and encouragement on my blunder!! Well, no call as of yet. But I figure, I sent it on Monday morning, the are probably bombarded with resumes and business, so will wait till Friday and then Send another revised cover & resume...
Dianne, so sorry to hear Santa Warren's appointment didn't go so well. My prayers continue for you both and sending Gentle Armwraps to You and He.
Also, about Quill. I can only imagine the pain you are also feeling to watch and not be able to help...I wish I could be there to help and give you a Giant Armwrap.
So exciting to get new furniture! too funny, mad cleaning, ahhh but now it's done!! I love that you call your boots, Wellies! I haven't heard that in a very long time...But you and Mary will enjoy sloshing around in your morning walks, yikes about the hunters!! A little story for you.
When we first got the Cottage, my kids were pretty young. Well, the first fall, people were hunting Turkey, which roam the roads in flocks! My goodness, the first gun shot i heard sent my motherly instincts into a craze. The children were begging to go out and play in the yard, nope wouldn't let them, They cried and begged and finally I sent DH to the store for orange hats. In the meantime I made the kids wear the orange grocery bags on their heads!! LOL, they thought I lost my marbles. So i let them go outside, just in the front, until dad came back...
...Cars and guns scare me to death, it was a hunting rifle, used taking my younger sister, Juliana's life.
Speaking of younger sisters!! My Niece came for a business trip on Tuesday. This I knew, what I didn't know was she brought a surprise visitor!! My baby Sister Honee Bee!!! And with her being here, her children, came from Indiana!!! So We had a wonderful visit...Honee has been away for a long time. This visit was the first she has seen them in 2 years, us too....Eeryone left last night.
Roxie(19), Honee Bee and Hunter(14.5)
Judy don't wait, if you're going to send a revised letter and all do it NOW, they can find their person by Friday.
Honee just got this fantastic new tattoo, lol couldn't wait to show it off, so brrr...wearing shorts in this freezing cold!
Sabrina, all the sudden cleaned her room!! As if she knew, but had no clue, lol. First thing Aunti did, was check out the kids rooms.
Here we are!! (see her tattoo?) My niece has a Tattoo store and they did the art...Oh and later, Breenie told her Aunti that all the posters and decor are coming down! I could hardly beleive my ears, lol...
Oh Judy how wonderful that you got to see your sis! I so miss mine - while we lived miles apart we connected every day maybe not in person or on the phone but we had what we called our 'sisterly vibes'. When my dad passed both my sis and I lived miles away. Right about the time he passed we both had this feeling come over us and we were frantically trying to call each other. Neither one of us could get through because each of us was on the line. My sis passed suddenly and I knew the second she passed. I had this gut wrenching feeling hit me and I said to my DH something is horribly wrong with my sis. I always trust my vibes! Thanks for the hugs Judy I will gladlly take the arm wraps and send some right back atcha!
The deer were on the move last night. Both dogs were quite riled by this. They moved alright - right to our septic tank. I looked out the bedroom window as the motion light had clicked on and there were 5 laying there.lol One year my DH travelled miles to go hunting with a friend. They saw no signs of deer but I had deer every night sleeping on the septic that week.LOL at the orange bags on their heads but I so understand. The dogs hate the bright orange scarves but they have to wear them.
DH needs me will be back.
Dianne
Hi Crissy, Great idea!! Be back in a few.
Love the pic!!
I'm not fond of guns either, but living out in the woods they are all around me so I just deal with it. They shoot at targets getting their guns ready for hunting season.
Judy if you're wanting a job you absolutely must be aggressive, especially since there are soooo many people out there looking.
OMG, Crissy...Sending you a D-mail...Maybe you can give me a critique?? Hmmm, should have thought of it first, lol.
Judy, your Sister looks so much like you! Love that tattoo!
Morning, sunshine day here in Barrie, on cool side but it is so much better than snow!!!
Paul (BIL/Boss) is here all day, although I'm still sewing he's flitting about, be like that all day so hard to get anything done. Suzanne and I are talking Buffalo so we're hoping rather than leaving tomorrow at 2:30 he might feel sorry for us and let us go earlier..we work till 3:00 but asked for 2:30pm lol guess it's our fault, not being direct enough, you know some men, just don't take hints.
Melanie (DIL) just called me, going to Meaford so will call with price of wreaths/candles for our project. She was here getting Kyle's official hunting permit, the one he can have his own gun..not my thing but his maternal grandfather is an avid hunter so Kyle is on his way this afternoon and will be hunting for 3 days..told him I'm wishing him the best health wise but praying he doesn't get the opportunity to shoot the gun!!!!
I know it's just the way it is, everything having a purpose but lordy I don't like the 'hunt' that being said, we're run over with cayotes...
Judy, how wonderful for you to get to spend time with your sister and her kids, "SHORTS" brrrrr lol Now the blues just have to be gone after her visit. bet you spent time down memory lane, had a laugh and shed a tear! Your nephew looks a lot like Jacob, family resemblance for sure.
Dianne, I believe we do have a six sense that allows us to be on same level as others we love..we just have follow through when we have these feelings. My heart aches for what you are going through..sending hugs/prayers ..thrilled that Santa Warren's doctor has decided to keep you informed.
Barb, sending hugs..know the tests seem to be taking forever and the results even more so but they are coming back in your favor (somewhat)..meant to say your daughter is a looker...glad she's close enough to drop in and offer her support.
ooops must run be back in a sec..
Suse..coming back for fruit!!!
DH off until Monday so trying to get somethings finished before my sister arrives tomorrow afternoon.
Waving to all.
Did anyone put coffee on.......
men, take hints??????? Betty, you've GOT to be joking.... lol
Here I am, at work, pulling a "Betty" lol I've got a plastic bin under my desk with a whole bunch of polar fleece in all sorts of colours. They've been cut into 3 1/4" sqaures and I'm sewing them together to make those fleece blankies for the wee ones in our "crying room" at the back of our sanctuary at work. It's soooooo quiet around here. I did some work, and now it's 10am. I'm here until 4:30. The bosses and some project engineers are in Edmonton today, and the bosses are taking tomorrow off as Vacation day (It's Remembrance Day, but I'm here cuz the office is open anyway - most people took August 4th as Heritage Day off - can do 1 or the other). I don't have a choice - I wouldn't get paid if I weren't here. The Agency says I don't have 280 hours this year with them, so would not get paid if I weren't working, and I won't get Stat pay anyway. I chose to work and get paid! An Engineer at the company thought I shouldn't come in cuz I wouldn't be needed, but I told them I would! Wanna get paid, doncha know LOL The bosses are good with this!
How wonderful, Judy, that your neice and Honee came to see you, and
You have me laughing Susan, nothing like coming in, no work ahead of you to fill in the day and just play..play at home or here at work and get paid, no brainer right? Starting to get tired of sewing little beads on reindeers antlers and christmas trees so took a walk outside my door to enjoy the festivities..imagine, santa coming to visit next week here at the mall..
That sounds about right, Betty - In Winnipeg we had Santa come in November, and then the Parade in late November. That was over 30 years ago, too.
