Morning everyone.
I'm a football nut. Used to be just the college football, but since so many SEC kids that I used to root for got drafted in the big leagues, I've been following the NFL too :(
So you all know now where most of my weekends went.
Anywhoooo.. it's Monday!!! And a nice 50s morning, going to be a nice 70s.
This part of NC is a tad warmer than the mountains, which just make this arthritic body happy!!
Susan, you may or not be.. lurking. I hope you had a very restful weekend.
With the wide lid, that might be a stock kettle. One would think for stocks it should be a large pot, but then, if you use a kettle, you just have to keep adding water.
You're right, the mouth is just too big, and iit makes sense for making the removal of the veges after pouring off the liquids.
Never sewn any drapes before Sue. Maybe Barb, LK or Susan? But holler at me anyway if you need directions on how to thread a needle!!!
Oh please, do take pics!!
I don't do Halloween for more than a quarter century. But did pass out treats, till I move here. It will be a very suspicious car if it were to drive up the dirt road just to 'trick or treat'!
Thanks Sis Kathy, hope you had a nice vacation. You might need to take a vacation after that vacation?
Marion, how art thou, sistah? I watched "Maiden Heist" (from Netflix), and I thought you would surely enjoy this light comedy. It got Morgan Freeman in an unlikely character.. and if you like Christopher Walken, he's in it too.
LK, you should be able to hold a good diet for a week after that weekend eating feast!!! I so envy you.. oh for a good BBQ brisket, Texas style!
Okay sistahs!!! Thanksgiving coming soon!!! Before you know it, it's time to start thinking of pumpkins and turkeys! Anyone ready?
Sweet Interruptions # 229
yes jaye, i need a huge vacation so i can rest. shopped everyday i was gone
What did you buy, Sis Kathy? Hope they are all for you. I know you're just like most of us here, wouldn't buy nothing for ourselves cause that would make us feel guilty.
Okay.. call me stoooopiiiid!!! No, not for loving my LSU Tigers so much.. by the way Sis, did you see that?? LSU whooped Auburn's arse!!!
I just poured hot grease over my ankle!
It wasn't intentional mind you. Trying to remove a pan off the stove, got careless, hand slipped and there's sizzling oil pouring down.
Managed to have cold running water over that ankle for a good 10 minutes.. then apply ACV on it.
Well, sure hope there'd be no blisters..
Ouch, Jaye!!
I'm not lurking - I've been very busy, and wasn't feeling up-to-par yesterday. Between Movie Night, the church bazaar, choir practice and service, then running around yesterday afternoon doing errands (then Bob took me out for supper, I was That fried I didn't want to make dinner and he saw that.....).
Hope you are okay Jaye. Burns are so painful and can infect so quickly. Please take care my friend....
I'm at work right now, and only periodically can post.....
Jaye - what are you doing for the burn?????
Oh Jaye, sure hope it does. Ot blister! OUCH! Did you pur ice on it? What is ACV?
Thanks sistahs. Seems the Apple Cider Vinegar trick is working. No blisters so far and no pain.
That oil was smokin' hot and thank God it didn't spill on any of my fur kids that usually love to follow me around.
Anytime you get burns or some chemical spills on skin, make sure to let cold water run on the area for at least 10 mins. That I learnt from my old job.
Don't use ice, LK running water is the best as it takes the heat away slowly and keep the circulation going. And if you have no burn salve at hand or aloe vera gel, after you've cooled it down.. ACV works. The miracle natural remedy.
What is ACV????
Apple cider vinegar.
Glad it is not blistering.
hmmmmm glad I have ACV at the house - I don't usually stock it, but a recipe called for it, and et voila!
Glad you're not blistering, Jaye!!!
lsu made this bama fan very proud
No blistering!!! No pain!!!! And it was really hot grease!! Keep apple cider vinegar in stock sistahs!

Read that with your coffee and donuts!
Yes Sis Kathy, don't you like it how the Tigers whooped Auburn 45-10. I had to take a pic of it for posterity. Lol.
But the MAIN battle won't be the BCS as we know it, but this..
Countdown to LSU/Bama:
11 days, 8 hours
Kel will be off that day so this house will be LOCKED DOWN. NO visitors.. (we don't get any anyway)
Bama is tough and you got a good QB. Both our defenses are good and these kids have the wants. I'm expecting Miles to be having something devious under his hat!
What do you think of Texas A&M in the SEC now, and that Missouri is moving away from the Big 12 too, and applying for SEC as well?
Much more playing time for the boys, which means I'll be gone longer from real life!!
Marion, take heart, football is cyclical. Next year it might be FSU's turn to take the limelight.
Sistahs, it's not as bad outside as I thought it would be this morning. Still have a dozen potted plants to bring in and I hate to do that. Haven't dropped to the 30s yet.
You all have a wonderful Tuesday!! Gonna start on meatball stew!
Jaye I am so glad that burn didn't blister, that could have been very bad!
PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG SOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Woooohooooooo!!
Crissy has become another CFB nut!!! As Arkansas progresses into the schedule, your hogs get better!
Not sure why but I have always had ACV in the house. It is also very good if you have a piece of fruit go bad and get those yucky little flies.....put some in a dish and watch the action! Sadistic I know.
Jaye, not worried about FSU. Things go in cycles and it just appears to be that time for all the Florida teams.
Please take care of the burn.
I know it Jaye!!! My 49ers are doing good this year too!! Giants took a tumble and they have the same exact team they had last year, I don't get that one.
Marion, you think that trick might work with flies too? Each time the door's open, flies get in.
I watched Tebow 'saved' the Broncos in the 4th quarter. I'll pull for that young man, as he's been given a bad rap by the media. For their fans' sake, I hope Tebow is the answer for that team. Anyway, he's a product of SEC :D
Even though Cam Newton is one, and Panthers are in our backyard, I can't seem to root for him. He didn't do the right things to get where he's at.. moreover.. the coach redesign his O line to work FOR Cam.
Crissy, did you see that Saints vs Colts match?? Saints won by 50 points!!! That's sad when Colts couldn't do nothing without Peyton.
ETa: I'm such a dolt.. had written Pats instead of Colts..

YES Jaye I did!!! That team is way way way out of sorts without Manning, shows the back-up quarterback they had in there has no leadership skills, or he just simply forgot to show up. Kathy I'll share that with you!!!!
Don't know if it will work or not for flies--worth a try.
Nope.. still got to use that old fashion fly swatter, Marion.
Bummer!!
Susan, do a search for M. Kamenstein enamel----think you might find out more about your tea kettle.
Will do! Thanks Marion!!!!!!!!
I'm gonna google that too Marion.
Anyone saw that vid. on how this Chinese kid got rolled over and the bystanders didn't even lay a finger?
Well, I'm glad that vid. got out and it forced the PRC govt. to act.
Since Mao Tse Tung took over and made almost ALL religions illegal, China has become spiritually bankrupt and the present generation doesn't know good from evil. It's all about rat eat rat.
The Singapore govt. had welcomed Chinese immigrants these past few years, trying to beef up the island with more Chinese, since the native Singaporean Chinese followed the govt. population campaign of stopping at 2 kids faithfully.
Whereas the other races didn't worry about the $$ penalties and kept reproducing like my parents. They had to pay about $500 for each child after 2.
So far, these new immigrants are NOTHING like the refugees of 50 years ago.
Coming back to that poor kid.. it takes her death to show the true China.. the Olympics was just a facade.
Good night sistahs.
The natives are rebelling now..
Marion - you're right - it is M. Kamenstein enamel, although the only one I found (exact shape) was floral, and not veggies, but it was exactly the same. From the early 1980's. I suspect this one is a "knockoff" cuz it's in perfect shape. It may have boiled water a couple of times, but that would be about it. And there's no name on the bottom.
This is an email I got from Jan/Mekos. Please keep her Brother in law in your prayers please? Some of you don't know her, she post on facebook a lot, but I figure all the more prayers the better!
My sister Sandra's husband, Sandy, went for heart cath today and found 3 blocked arteries and has to go Nov.2nd for surgery. Until then he must take it easy and be stress free, and I need to ask for prayers from those who would, and put him on prayer lists at church also if you don't mind. I appreciate all your prayers and thank you so much. I know they will appreciate it also. He is a very strong Christian and very active in Church. He has faith and we are believing for his healing. Thanks again and God Bless you for your help.
jaye! what ya doin wit my car? bring it back now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good morning LK.
I'll certainly be praying for Jan's BIL. Lord will see him through this.
It's Wednesday and Power Prayer tonight! Woohooo.. looking forward to the 9 p.m prayer party!!
And why not? Each time we pray, we're also in rejoicing with our Lord, knowing He is there in times of our needs.
So much to be thankful for, and I'm still thanking the Lord for Crissy's DH getting a job he likes, and our Susan here.
Susan, I've seen some too, but no vege patterns. All florals. There is one on eBay selling for $40.
Sue, fyi, that incident happened in the city. Chinese in rural countryside are not that callous, as some are still secretly practising the old Confucious' or Tao's ways.
Middle of the week, and I haven't accomplished anything 'quilt' wise.
Better start soon as Saturday will soon be here and I'll be transported to the tube!!!
It's spaghetti and pesto for lunch. Meatless. Sometimes a simple plate like that can be soooo delicious.
I love plain buttered pasta too.
Have a wonderful Humpday sistahs!
g'morning, Jaye! How are you feeling this morning, sweetie?
I will certainly be joining the Prayer Circle tonight, and Sandy's DH will be in my prayers.
I'm at work, so should "get to it"!!
Bless all of you, this day and always :-)
((((((((((Susan))))))))))) Hugs for you m'dear for being you!
Leg's fine, sinuses fine, headaches gone, just my bank account!! Wish there's a million dollar balance in there! Lolol!!
LOL Ya mean there's No Fortune??? Hmmmm and all this time I was being your friend so I could get the inheritance LOL yaaaaaaaaaaa Right! I's your friend cuz you're Such A Dear, y'know! (((((((((Jaye)))))))))) love ya muches!!!!
Hiya Sue!! Glad you founded us again!!
Didn't realise you lost us Sue!
Hope your DD's therapy will continue to help her.
Sorry Susan, you got poor sistahs!! Lol!!
Well, I have the sistahs HERE, and that's what counts, not how much $$ they have LOL

Morning everyone!
Morning LK.
Are you competing this year with your hummingbirds? You should. We'll vote for you.
Sistahs, I'm not one to spread rumors. But, it came to my attention, and for what it's worth...
DO NOT USE THOSE GLADE PLUG INS.
Kel's cousin's house burnt down, and the investigation had proven that the guilty culprit was Glade Plug in.
I've googled it, and it seems he wasn't the first victim.
The Fire Marshall was the one that gave him the report, and his cousin will now start a battle with Glade.
Okay.. stick to battery operated room deodirizer!!
I'm gonna be donning my master crafts hat today, trying to do a centerpiece for Thanksgiving.
Thanks to LK here, I think I can do this swap. As long as it doesn't require baking!! Lololol!!
I'll post pics after she's gotten it.. you all will be so proud of me. Unless the cats get to my creation first!!!
