You two will be the best dressed ladies in the mall!!!!

Verona, ON

Hello everyone from chilly Verona. Have had the woodstove on since we got back home on Friday. House feels nice and cozy but not too hot, just right. Now that sounds almost like a nursery rhyme doesn't it?

Betty do you remember seeing Michaud Toys at Meaaford. They are usually in the Curling RInk and always have a double both. I think Berry Ellen is on one side of them. The Michaus are more into wooden games, household items and they made the most wonderful wooden train set I have ever seen. It is a family business but Mom has pretty much retired her arthritis has got so bad. The 3 boys are as handsome as one can get, a picnic for the eyes, personable and fluent in French. Actually French is their first language. We both sarted off on the circuit the same time and as luck would have it always seemed to be beside or across from them at about 80% of the shows we did. Those boys ( there in their 30' and 40's now but still boys to me) were wonderful to me when I was doing shows alone. They called me their mother on the road. One can't ask for a better compliment than that having met and seen how they treat their mom!

Crissy good for you - I would love to have slept in, heck I would love to just have longer than 1 hour's sleep at a time right about now. Tried your roast today?

Barb, DO NOT EAT OR DRINK IN THE MORNING!!! Tell you what, I will fast with you so if you forget and eat you are in big trouble lady!!!!lol

~~~~ to everyone! Thunder you could have joined Betty and I for tea. Wouldn't that be wonderful if we could do that rather than by cyber meeting. Although I sure won't knock cyber tea and coffee chats.
Looking to see how many of the girls I buy Xmas gifts for might wear them and then determine a color for them..
Came for a break, tabbed with Shron a bit now I'm waiting for potatoes and carrots to cook, don't want to fall asleep!
Victoria Harbour, ON
I did see them Dianne, it's quite a craft! No, no better compliment than to be called mom by someone elses kids! June knows the lady who does the dolls that are similar to cabbage patch dolls, woulnt you know she is neighbors with the couple that spent the night...anyway she said she has been a vendor for 28 years..a long, long time! Says it's still fun.
Weather is much the same here Dianne, truly a fall day..took a few photo's of trees yesterday, will post next time I'm downstairs..beautiful..not as brilliant as usual, perhaps because of the hot summer.
Did you end up having an afternoon nap Dianne?
Verona, ON
Nope no Nap Betty! Can't seem to find the OFF switch.
By Doll Lady, do you mean Carol with the porcelain dolls? She has special rigths to the Anne of Green Gables doll.
Just put a chicken in to roast for dinner. Hopefully Warren will want to eat some. He is almost 48 hours into the new Med regime and we can both see some improvement, sure hope it keeps improving.
Made Chocolate Eclairs to take to a friend as a Thank you, I know DH will eat a couple of those.
Dianne
Victoria Harbour, ON
Same here Dianne, felt like nodding off when I was cooking, now that I've eaten I feel wide awake. Wondering if a hot bath will put me to sleep or keep me awake.
No Dianne, this lady is in the arena and does cloth dolls, she dresses them to represent all professions..
How wonderful that the meds are helping Warren..glad they are not making him I'll..
Wish you lived closer, made enough din/din for 6, I'll share providing you let me have a few eclairs!
(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)
I'm in the process of a nice hearty beef stew here. It's quite cool and stew just seems to fit the bill. Made enough for at least four and it's just Norm and I. Oh well, Leftovers tomorrow!!!
Doesn't this world seem to shrink with every new event we go to? It seems we are always meeting someone who knows that other someone who went to school with the other someone and now they all live in the same town again!!! Combine that with the net and the world can fit in our pockets!!
Dianne I'm warmed immensely by your news. Now if Warren will start to eat, he may feel better yet. How is the chocolate situation? Any left? Doesn't matter - more are on their way to you......
Thea we so enjoyed our Timmies this morning. It was so good I'm thinking of another cup!! Sure warms up these chilly days.
Getting excited. I'll be seeing my family from Colorado on Friday. I haven't seen them in three years. The two girls -12 and 10 - are growing so fast and I can hardly wait to just hold them. The youngest saw me drinking tea the last time she was here and Mom says she has started drinking a warm cup after her dinner. She wants to have tea with Grammy!!! I'll have to see if we can Skype and have tea together each night!!
Off to finish getting dinner ready. Have a great evening...
Victoria Harbour, ON
All looking for comfort food in this cool weather! yes, Skype would be fantastic..now that I've new laptop I can skype, problem is I've no one to skype with.. That's a wonderful age Barb, you will so enjoy them..any special plans other than catching up with lost time? You will be having your own Thanksviving while we have ours this weekend.
Not quite sure what my evening will bring, so tempted now that I've had a hot bath and am in jammies to call it a night, if I do so likely I'll be on the midnight shift again but feel if I undertake a project I'm too tired and will foul it up...what to do,what to do!
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Good evening everyone! Betty, thanks for the fall colors! That is such a pretty tree! Love those scarves! They are so pretty!
Thunder, love that new design wall. I may have to got get a few sheets of that insulation.
Dianne, sure hope those meds keep improving things for Warren. Any eclairs left?
I went fishing today, but did not catch anything. Just too hot and sunny for cat fishin! It was 92 this afternoon!
Verona, ON
Oh wow LK we had the wood stove going full blast today. Probably not so much the cold but the damp. 92* is mighty hot for a northern gal like me.
On Friday once we got home from the Cancer Clinic I got the wood stove cookin' and it hasn't been out since. Had a few mishaps the first while once the fire caught. Hadn't paid much attention to the thermostat so as it warmed up from the fire the AC came on. Fixed that with a flick of a switch but then the oil burner came on to give us heat. Should have bopped myself on the side of my head - I had forgotten to lower the temp on the thermostat.Love that woodstove! Think I have my act together now in terms of the thermostat so unless 1 of the dogs has figured out how to move the switch we should be ok.
Betty you are more than welcome to the eclairs, even the recipe if you want. They are so easy to prepare it is almost embarrassing when people rave over them. Don't let them in on the recipe though although I would if they asked.Is the lady with the dolls named Linda? Are the dolls for the most part nuns with a name mocking their profession that makes you chuckle? She is right against the boards not in the middle in the arena. Who is the lady in Meaford who has a child's wear store? She might have closed up the store entirely by now as she was thinking of doing that way back in '95. Her cousin (the lady who had the store in Meaford), who also makes children's clothing and her DH did ceramics from moulds were always right beside me.Oh lordy am I ever rambling tonight maybe it is a sign I will sleep tonight.
~~~~~~~ to everyone
Dianne

Betty that's only two shelves worth, and they have more on them now....yikes...I have four bookcases, like those!!! and another cabinet/ shelves with more...plus boxes / plastic totes, under my sewing table !!!

I am having a "freak out" moment, as I thought that the Christmas pattern was in an envelope right here on my desk in front of me!!!! and it is not here ??? I must have moved it?? to where?? I do not know.....sew I am gonna have to go on a hunt....ohhh I know I have it some where....butttttt I REALLY thought it was right here!!! so I am sorry I cannot look right now and give you any suggestions :(

speaking of candies...I love that stocking with the candy top!! how about candles?? ornaments/balls ? not sure what the other rows are so maybe I am repeating something already there??? arrrgghh I am so mad that pattern is not right here!!!

Dianne, very glad to hear new meds are doing good for your darlin Warren..............you remind me of me...I get so wound up I just can not turn off sometimes...I go for days and days getting only 3-4 hrs sleep a night...but then I crash, and I can sleep for 7 -10 hours two or three days in a row, catch up time I guess...really wish I could even it out...

My son bought a fishing license today, he said he is gonna make "the ole man" take him out...get them both out of the house once in a while to do some thing!!!!! I thought it was a great idea!! hubs asked me, when he knew the son could not hear, if I told him to do it?? I told him "No it was the kids idea" he was touched...

Mary , Mary...we could never give your spot away....you silly girl....

well I hope Y'all are dreamin sweet dreams, and have a great mornin, I will put the coffee on for Ya before I hit the hay !!!!! get some eclairs from Dianne Barb, none for you till after the test!!!!!

Okay okay ... I'm a wee bit late tonight. LOL

Hi Mary! I missed you too! ☺ So how did the trip go? Did it all go smooth with the FIL and MIL? What about *you know who? Inquiring minds ... hehehe

Dianne, so how did the chicken turn out? I think I could smell it all the waaay down south ... Well, maybe not ... I guess it was the BBQ chicken the DH had on the grill, but I bet yours smelled wonderful!!!

Okay, who had the beef stew? Barb? Well, that's what we had when we came in today after church. I put on a crock pot last night, and it was very good on this nice nippy day. Thanks again to all y'all in Canada! They're calling this a cold front from Canada ... In fact, it is rather chilly out there tonight. It's 55º.

Okay Barb, speaking of you ... do not ... do not eat anything tomorrow. grin

LK, Yum cat fish!! We started to fry some up this week-end! I'd have had to purchase mine, though ... Sure wish I had a nice fishin hole. I'm not gonna tell my DH ... nope, not gonna do that! My uncle use to have a lake house on Lake Sinclair in middle GA, and we could sure catch some cat fish there ...

Y'all *really make me feel oh sooo not talented! All that work sounds so gorgeous! I use to do macramé, but you can't find the jute anymore ... All they have is that horrible nylon cord. I wish I had some pictures of some of the ones I made. I'd tie ceramic figurines in the pattern. Back then you could get $15 and still make a little money for yourself.

Well, the DH moved my 2nd lemon tree that we planted several years ago that was in the way ... he worked on my deck ... worked in the yard ... he's worked on the computers. He's really made a dent in the honey-do list. ☺

Now I need to say nighty night to everyone for now. Y'all have a blessed one ...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

It pays to take a pain killer, slept right through to 4:00am..oh happy days!!

Needed to get up early as Suzanne has to take her car in to dealership and I will pick her up, means leaving at 7am..nothing like like mellowing out before starting the day!

Mary, of course you were missed, with us Canadian girls not sleeping Friday/saturday night we were looking for a 4th to play cards...

Dianne, little intimidated trying new recipe's especially when someone says 'easy' but I'd be honored if I could have the recipe.. Do you have a thermostats that attaches to the wood stove pipe?? That is the only way I could regulate the stove..had three 3 colors..when in green, meant I had to open dampers, in the blue it was perfect and in red had to close it down, chance of chimney fire.

LindaKay, me thinks those fish were looking for cooler weather and not hungry enough to take bait, yikes " 92". Thought your temps were a on the downslide..

Barb, good luck on the fasting today..not an easy thing to do..we'll all have goodies made to make up for it once you can have a treat..

Mary, looking forward to hearing about your weekend.

Thunder you are sooo lucky that when your son asked me if I wanted to come in last year that I said no, I'd have been so tempted to pack a bag of fabric just like a did with oranges..oh wait, I think I filled 2 or 3 bags..that was sooo much fun.

Suse, chatting over breakfast with my B&B guest, we talked about traveling ..they just bought a 5th wheel and are leaving next month..friends of theirs has a daughter who lives in your town so they bought a house near her and will spend their winters there. Ohhh, guess your hubby was working up energy while teasing you that your honey do list would go u finished and look at that, some major projects done...guess those lemons trees grow quite a size in not so many years...you southerners are so lucky to have lemon/grapefruit/oranges out in your yards.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sending you some color this early morning..

I'm thinking the furries played with skunks this morning..didn't get hit bad but yukkkkk talk about not a nice smell..Suzanne is on her way to dealership and I have to pick her up soooo no staying home the bath Sailor..will have to wait until tonight..

Good morning everyone! Beautiful colors Betty.

Mary, I did get the plant Saturday and it arrived safe and sound. Nicely watered and packaged. Not one leaf was missing! So sorry I did not post it, I just got busy!

We did not catch any catfish. :( Just too hot I guess, but we celebrated my son's 30th Birthday while we were there. Had a great time.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ahhh Linda Kay to be so young..glad you had a nice family day. You'll have to make a trip to the fish market I guess...maybe you should have done so prior to fishing and kept them alive so you could hook them and show the kids your big catch..

LindaKay do you want me to e-mail you the pattern for placemats using 4 fat quarters...scanning it now..
Was waiting for Thunder to forward her e-mail so I can send...seems like a very easy project..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes please? That would be nice! Thank you very much!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Scanning now..then I shall e-mail. Read the instructions, actually a quick project..above somewhere when I was gabbing about Meaford I added a photo of the fabric shop where she had a few sets done up which might help re color scheme..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning all!! I DID IT!!! I remembered NOT to have anything to eat or drink. Now I just need to wait for the doctor to get the results. I think Wed/Thurs. Can I have treats now?? I was really good. Must say, I couldn't wait to get a cup of coffee after the appointment.
Sounds like everyone had a good weekend. That's wonderful. Still saying my prayers for our Debbie that this thing with her legs is resolved soon. In the meantime, she is getting a well deserved rest.
I have to run errands today but wanted to post that I was such a good girl!! ~~~to all and I"ll be back later...
