Morning all,

dark dreary day, heavy rain but it will not damper my day as I can stay in my jammies while working from home..oh happy days!

Bit of bright side, Suzanne's grandaughter needs a sitter for a few hours so Auntie Betty will have a little one to entertain. 3 year old is too young to teach to sew and paint I guess..lol

OMG Crissy that is just too funny, has he shown any interest when you been at your dad's and he's been there? I can just imagine your responses.. glad you got all organized with the flight, I'm with Mary, will get you do book my flights..remember when you were flying up here all the work you did to get the best price.

Mary, hoping the weather and having a roadtrip with in-laws and son's girlffriend turns out to be all you want in a trip...bring along the camera..you always pick the most interesting places to stay in.

Suse, you reminded me of my dh..seems he always had 'honey do' lists for me when he was on the road but when he was home there was always plenty of time to do my 'honey do's..you know even to this day I make a list on New Years' eve for what I'd like to see accomplished the following year..always on target except for this year..still big ticket items not done and only 3 months left.. How's the recliner...you would not have upset anyone with comments about ailing dogs..

kitties are snuggling in, guess they realize today is not an outdoor kind of day..

Dark and dreary (sp) here too, the rain has stopped for now but I am sure we get lots more.
Betty...can`t wait to see the finished quilts, they will be stunning!!! I am working on little doily type quilts for halloween. I hope I will be able to finish them today so I can start on some of the "goodies" I got from Barb.

Today I start Physio and I sure hope it will give me a little bit of relief. The plumber will be back this afternoon, installing a new presure tank and sump pump (he looked at it yesterday and said it looked pretty rusted)...yayyy more $$$ spend but rather safe then sorry and have all the basement flooded.

Good morning!! Wow Betty - seems like you are getting hit with all kinds of things this week. Between illness and Mom you don't need any more bad news. Please tell Darlene I will keep her and her family in my prayers. How is Ann's foot doing? Has she seen the doctor again? And Kathy?

Yesterday I made my block of the month for Sept. I really must put them all together on the design wall. Only three more and then I can think of how to put them all together. I have so many bags of blocks to do this with. I join the swaps and then have no idea of what i"m going to use the blocks for!! I have quite the collection now....

Thea, you need to post some pictures!!! I'd love to see what you have made. I finished a two sided runner for a swap. The one that was in pieces all over the cutting table when you were here. As soon as she recieves it, I can post pictures too. Wouldn't want to spoil her surprise...

Crissy, I'd send Dave a good pair of walking shoes too. Glad you were able to change his flight. Did he know this was the time of your big conference when he got the reservation? I remember you speaking of it last year.

Mary, I hope your weekend is all you need. It sounds like someone spoke out of turn at this meeting where you were put down. Upper management doesn't usually issue apologies for anything....

Oh, I had wonderful news this week. My family in Colorado is coming next weekend!!!! We haven't seen them in three years so we are excitied!!!

Nothing worse with all this rain is not having sump pump working, well worth the $$$ spent because without it you'd be spending same and more with water clean up. When the insurance came a few months ago to look at the house re how much to insure, she was amazed all all I had in the sump pump hole..lol even have a water detector that if it get much above the water line an alarm goes off..then a secondary pump if the other goes dead..

Thea, the finished project is in the quilt shop that I stopped at yesterday, omg, when I look at the work yet to do..all the embellishments, zig/zag and stipple quilting I ask myself why on earth I'd take up doing one let alone '3'..lol I'm sure the girls will like them..I've 2 rows of cut-outs and 3 rows of blocking to do then I can start doing zig/zag on them all..

I sure am appreciating all the Christmas fabric that was sent my way by some of you..I'm like a kid in the candy store, what shall I use, what shall I use...one of the months is done in log cabin fashion so it will be fun to do with all that was sent..

In all my scraps I need 'flesh' for the angel, no can find, sooo hoping I can put off color and it will still be ok..

Barb, wonderful that your family is visiting...lordy you sure haven't had much time this past summer what with travelling and having company to get bored..you'll no sooner finish this visit that Thanksgiving and Christmas will be upon you.

I'm anxious after all the talk of your sewing room and stock pile to come and visit.

Ann's foot is giving her the whatfor, I think she is using it far too much..Kathy is still in mega pain, their telling her it's change of life and will have to live with it, who knows??? Just not like her to be ill all the time..she's always on the go!

I will tell Darlene that you are keeping them in your prayers, know she will appreciate it..

So with all that going on, who knows who will be able to tag along tomorrow..my car only holds 4, thinking of putting the back carry'all on it just incase whoever goes decides to shop a lot, and if early enough I know if there is an extra seat, I'll call June because I know she would like to go..you know which one June is right? lol

Mary, I'm with Barb, upper management doesn't apologize but I think they know your true value so will watch their p's and q's from now on! Linda Kay will be thrilled with the care you've taken so send her a 'pretty'..bet some days you'd like to box up Belle and send to one of us.

Well, the closing is a done deal!! DH came home and informed me there is a ton of landscaping to do...Thinking I need to go and take some photos.

OMG, you all amaze me with your quilting and other great projects...What's a stipple stitch?? lol i could look it up, however it's faster to just ask, lol.

Well, well...I am somewhat jealous of my own DD!! Can't help it, lol. Then on the other side of the coin I am so Happy and Proud of her!!! She has invested in her future and bought an incredible Digital Camera. It's a Cannon EOS Rebel T3, Has all the bells and whistles. She has been researching for what she wants for quite a while, and she also purchased a 75-300mm Zoom lens...She had it all set up and was playing with it, of course, I would have done the same...LOL, Breenie asked if i wanted to check it out, eyebrow raise, are you kidding?!? Tomorrow, we are going on a field trip to the Botanical Gardens! It's for School and that was the reason for her purchase...Julia, recalled how neat it is that Breenie made such an investment and how it actually mirrored my very first investment! Only Breenie is far more advanced in photography then me...I will so enjoy watching her work!

Dave knows we have two conferences in October but he would never remember the dates. It wasn't him who is sending him home, it's the company, he has to start working here on October 24th. We got it worked out.

I just sooo Love my stash of Christmas fabrics , row 7 is 7 mini 6 1/2" blocks...so doing 3 quilts is 21..with all the odds and sods they should look wonderful..my goal for today is trying to finish the 21 strips..wish me luck...yuk, sure do hope the little 3 year old knows how to sew..would help me out tremendously.

Linda Kay, DH just signed all the papers for the next big project, It's another house. While he will be working the inside, he wants me to deal with the outside!!
Lots of land, like 1.5 acres. Huge property lot. Looks as though, at one time it may have been lovely gardens, however Very overgrown, the place has been vacant for about 3 or so years!...I am excited as the possibilities are Great!

I've got to run to the store, So I will stop by to take some photo's, wanted to prior, but DH said not to just in case things didn't go through.

Betty, finger is about the same. Still swollen and sore. Still can't bend it. I have learned to do so much with the other fingers, but when I get in a hurry, and whack that finger on something, the whole neighborhood knows about it! OUCH!!!

I have a big pot with fresh soil in it, waiting on the delivery! Can't wait till it gets here.

Hi Everyone, My trip to visit my friend was seriously strange. More about that later, if I'm up to it. I'm OK except for a stomach ache brought on by being b.....d at for five days and not getting the stuff I paid for. I am not depressed; I knew the "friend" was a little nuts, now she's a lot nuts, and not in a pleasant way.

Can't participate in the Christmas swap. Mexican mail is too difficult.

I'm about to hit the road for home I'll have my new computer when I get back so I should be able to post more regularly.

Back home again and sooooo ready for a nap...lol...but have to stay awake because the Plumber will be here shortly.

I am all set up with a combination with Physio, acupuncture and massage for the next few weeks. Today I had acupuncture on my right hip (since I managed to injure that hip in my sleep 2 days before we went to see Barb) and now my hip feels all weird and heavy but not much pain...so thats good!!

Forgot this morning to wish Mary a great trip and lots of fun and we are all eager to see pictures!!

Judy the landscaping work sure will lift your spirits...take lots of before and after pictures!!

I think I will grab a mini nap...barely can keep my eyes open.

Taking so long LindaKay, must be so frustrating.
Ann just dropped in to say she wouldn't be going to Meaford, foot is paining and she has been having headaches and is off balance so decided it's best.

She no sooner dropped in that the telephone rang, it was Darlene, she and Mike are on their way to Toronto hospital, Mike's dad was rushed to emerge and is now in surgery so she won't be going either, understandable..Leo was ready to head to Florida next week, home on one of the islands just north of Ft.Myers..he's an artist and is on the art circuit and does quite well with sales...doubtful he can go this year!

Will give Cathy a call and see how she is doing and perhaps call June now that I know I'll have room for her...

Lol Thea, have cartoons on and Ariana laying next to me watching, every few minutes I can feel myself nodding off...wouldn't be nice if my niece found me sleeping and Ariana looking after me!

I've never had acupuncture Thea, is it very painful? Sure hope you get something done so you can be back in the land of the painless

Betty, acupuncture is not painful at all! I have had mosquito bites that hurt worse!

Betty, get out some paints, and let the little one go at it! You may be surprised what they can come up with! Give her a few sheets of printer paper, and sit her at your craft table. She can't hurt anything?

Today is Bertie's birthday...I got her the most awesome gift. Someone on this thread who paints rocks.....any guesses?

I had great news this morning. I get the screw out on the 6th. Less than a week, YAY! Then two weeks of no weight on that foot til the stitches come out and then therapy to learn how to walk again! I can hardly wait!!!

Cool here today, High of 53 and only to 52 tomorrow and windy. Yuck. We haven't had any frost yet....wait while I knock on wood....okay....did get Bill to bring my two ferns to the porch. I would die if that Australian Tree Fern died after I've babied it through 3 winters so far!

Dad is doing about the same. Still tells me everyday that he wants to die and join my mom. So hard to hear. I keep telling him it will take time, but he doesn't want to wait.

We are having about same weather here, calling for 48 degrees tomorrow, overcast and chance of rain..I'm getting my glad rags together for the morning..think a jacket will be in order..had a quilted sweater and can't for the life of me can I find it, would be just what I need but no go..most of what I have is heavy and heaviness on my shoulders would leave me to not walking for next few weeks..guess I'd better plan on being cold!

Maybe it will still pop up before tomorrow!

Well I'm sitting here at home enjoying the silence, was going to see if my friend wanted to go out but I think I'm going to stay in tonight, I'm really tired and just want to enjoy my nice quiet house.

Sometimes Crissy, just staying in, relaxing in the sanctity of your home is far more enjoyable than getting out in crowds..besides you have some busy times ahead of you...you haven't mentioned your mom or dad lately..how are they doing?

Mom had another surgery, this one was on her spine, I guess there are holes or a hole in each vertebra for nerves to move through, well her holes were completely clogged with calcium and it was stopping the nerves from moving with normal body movement. They cleaned all of the calcium off and it's been 6 weeks and she says she's still in the same amount of pain, if not worse, than she's been in, so I think that she's looking into a pain pump or something, I'm not sure. Her husband, who takes care of everything, has a hairline fracture in his ankle so he has to be careful with what he's doing now. Nothing ever changes, just stays the same.
