Oh I will take that hug gladly Susan. We had a terrible, horrible no good long day at the Cancer Centre and at another hospital in Kingston. By the time we got home late afternoon after leaving what felt like dawn we were both drained. But can I sleep oh no! MY brain just won't shut off!I'll dmail you Saturday, yes I guess it actually is Sat. already! lol , I have some questions to ask you about guide dogs. I was provoked to tears at my Neuro Optha appointment this morning - a lady was there with her guide dog and I was appalled about how she spoke to her dog and just over all treated her pooch.
Have a blast at Meaford Betty. Make sure you eat a Honey Crisp apple or two for me. We can't seem to find them locally.
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend everyone. Weather is horrid here - under a heavy rain and wind watch and frost was forecasted last night. I've been out to get wood and see some of my periennials are slighly tinged. Back tomorrow after a bit of sleep!
Make sure you do something nice for yourselves today everyone!
Dianne
best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..
Morning everyone...
45 degrees. Breeders.....am sure Dianne we're having much the same weather..won't be long that I'll be able to see up the street as the branches on all the front trees are mealy all on the ground..will be able to see Bernice and Cliff 's home by end of weekend!
Making sure I'm dressed warm..will pick up Honey Crisps for sure Dianne..
Hope you are both resting after such a horrific day and hope Suse can provide some info..don't you feel you want to step in when you see some mistreat animals..and for it to be a guide dog, well not right!
Suse, you are thankful for cold temps we are sending your way as long as we don't send you our white stuff I'm sure. Lol. What a great idea about sending out cards, Joyce maybe you could d-mail us his address?
Crissy, your mom has been through so much, am sure they've covered all areas of nerve block and it's meds/meds/meds which will make life bearable from pain..sorry to hear about her hubby, sure don't need him layer up..she is so lucky to have someone who
looks after all her needs..some men would bail out..Your dad is so cool, he's always up to something interesting.
Had a visitor last evening, 25 year old nephew, going to a halloween party at end of month, did the shop at Salvation Army, Value Village and the works, no tux, you will never guess who took on the project!
Got told twice, I was the best Aunt!! Lol
Looking at the clock, best I get myself ready, early morning departure.
Off to start my day..bringing camera along with me as I might see a scarecrow or 2 or 3
Good morning everyone. Dianne you and Warren are in my prayers and extras today for a day of rest. I'm so sorry you have to endure days like that. Wish I could help.
Crissy, wish I could help with your Mom too. I can't imagine what life is like in constant pain. Don't know how I would handle it.
Betty be sure to take LOTS of pictures today. There's nothing like a good craft fair. And have one of those apples for Norm and I okay???
Elaine is coming today and we will sew another block for our quilt. Life gets so busy sometimes and we just aren't getting things done as quickly as we would like but slow and steady we are!!!!
Waving hello to all ~~~~~~~~ need to get a sewing area set up . Have a great day all....
Morning everyone! Sounds like you all are busy!
Dianne, sending you and Warren very gentle ((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))). Praying you get some rest today.
Good Morning Everyone!!!! The house is nice and quiet and I have a roast in the slow cooker and it's going to be a wonderful weekend!!!!
Yum Crissy! It would be so nice tshare a meal with someone who can eat it. Don't get me wrong I love sitting done to our 'smeall' of dinner eacg evenings, I still set the table and light the candles. Problem is the candles are only on for a few minutes now !
HAve a great day everyone! Light frost last night but everything seems OK at the moment.
Dianne
Oh Dianne I don't have anyone to share it with, I'm by myself and loving every minute of it. This has me worried!
Oh it shouldn't, there are lots of times over the years I have relished enjoying a meal by myself. We all need that some more than others.
Is Dave away all week with this new job? I am sure you told us and I apologize for not remembering but the point is you will get to enjoy meals by yourself during the week and really enjoy the ones you have together when he is home.
Dianne
Betty are you out there battling the wind in Meaford?
Evening, got to tell you it won't be a late night, tired I am...
June arrived at 7:45am as planned, got to Cathy's,usually she's in the window waiting..after a few minutes I went to the door, Cathy was still in bed, had been up all night I'll....her dad told her I was there, I told him to tell her I was in no hurry and if she felt a bit better I'd wait..so wait we did..she wasn't well but made it through the day!
Arrived in Meaford and as we were going to the candle factory and tent sale, saw someone wave me in...Kyle! A lot of antiques they were selling for Melanie's grandma..had I truck several pieces would have come home with me..
Even though we were at the candle factory and sales tent early, you could barely move..lordy the wind was strong and talk about cold..although I said there wasn't much I needed managed to fill a big box full of treasures as the girls did..
Then off th the craft show..saw a metal glassed in unit with a Christmas arrangement in it, sad to say they were sold out by the time I got there..vendors livebin Aurora so they told me to have Jeff call and they would have one set aside for me..
Dianne, not much new in all of the buildings..thatbbeing said I bought me, Suzanne (for Christmas) and Cathy (for her 50th) a beautiful scarf /earrings set..not your traditional scarf..has necklace attached, made from fabric,wool,ribbons..gorgeous..was hard to pick one..
Lightbulb went off, ok, if I could find necklaces at half decent price, find materials needed I could make some for Christmas..need about 10' wasn't about to pay $35.00 each though like I did these..
I don't want to sound full of myself but a lot of what was there I could do at a minimal cost and look twice as good! Sorry, I known that sounds awful but true.
Then off to the big warehouse outlet..now wouldn't you know they had necklaces almost 100% what I wanted for the scarves, oh happy days, even some of the wool and ribbon..I was a happy camper when they said $2.00 each...I quickly bought 10..now to see if I can
get enough materials together ie for a variety of textures.. Was laughing, I spent enough so far that I could have bought 2 from vendor...but, wouldn't be able to say 'made with love just for you!'. Not sure it's everyones thing but I can picture looking so elegant even in jeans wearing them..all goes well I will have to have a few just for me...
Ran into Aunt Muriel, Laurie and Junior, then a few cousins.. Was like hometown week
On the way out I stopped at the fabric shop, yikes, so many people in such a small store..few fabrics I'd have bought but wasn't spending an hour in line...
But, she had several sets of place mats done with 4 fat quarters, done in a stack/whack method..color combo was lovely, bought the pattern and took photo (with her permission) just for color ideas..
Then where..ate an apple just for you Dianne at Grandma Lambs..
Now for home, hadn't eaten anything all day so got to Collinwood and stopped at Swiss Chalet..that is where we all became thieves...ssshhhhh you didn't hear me say that did you? Their traffic medium was dialed with rock..ohhh there is one that would make a good snake, ahhh that one a turtle...oohhh this one a dear...back seat full of rocks..can you imagine us on front page of Collinwood news saying we were charged with rock theft? Lol
Got to Elmvale, 1/2 hour ride, went to fabric shop, getting out of car June realizes she left her purse in Collingwood at the restaurant..so back we went...luckily someone turned it in...made us happy!!
So now I'm off for hot bath and jammies, then I'll oh/ah at what I bought..
Betty, sounds like you had a wonderful time! Would love to see a picture of the scarf/necklace!
Plans change, no sooner pressed send that Cathy's sister met a couple, guess my age, going to a wedding in town and looking for accommodations..that goodness I keep the place reasonably clean..they just brought in their clothes and going out for supper than a wedding at community centre just down the street...
Soooo I didn't do groceries, should at least offer them cereal, juice, fruit, muffins etc so as soon as they are off to the wedding I'm off grocery shopping..
Wow Betty sounds like you had a good time despite the cold wind. I bet you do go to bed early! LOL
I was busy today too! My friend, who is a bartender, called me and said that she was working alone and the only female in the bar for the game so I went to Hot Springs to sit with her until another employee got there, when he got there he had some ribs that he smoked so I filled up on those, then went to Belk and bought some new shoes for work and a new sweater, went to JCPenney and Dillards looking for a pair of new boots that I didn't find. I got out of the shopping mood and came home, my roast that I started this morning is done and now I'm not hungry, go figure! LOL
Sounds like you had quite the day Betty. Lots of goodies to oooh and aahhh over tonight. How nice that the couple will spend their wedding night with you!!! I know you will somehow make it special for them.
I'm sorry to hear the Kathy still isn't feeling well. The poor dear. Can she see another doctor? I would not settle for the response she got with this last doctor. Menopause does not cause that kind of continuing pain....And if, by chance, that's what it is, she does NOT have to "live with it".Doesn't sound like the doctor gives a DA-- about how she feels..
Omg, must go see what I typed..this couple is Going to the wedding only, girl getting married it ended up I knew years ago..friends with her MIL...this couple also had been to Meaford first as they were passing by on their way here! They were telling me the groom had battled cancer, had 1/2 his tongue replaced, they were not sure with part of human flesh it was done with, then side of his throat..first wife left him because she couldn't l with. I was telling them that ions ago, the bride who is 44 had the battle of her life with cancer as well, operations/chemo/radiation ..touch and go for 3 or 4 years, don't think they knew this, it's their nephew who got married and the only met Geraldine once! Small world really.
Crissy, you can always have the roast tomorrow and you'll have lunch meat! Sounds as though you had a great day as well getting ready for fall..I need new shoes as well..funny how I can spend hours shopping for crafts but not personal items..what kind of boots were you looking for? Not snow boots I hope!
Barb, told Cathy the same, you could see she was in pain..the standard answers of might be this just doesn't cut it..told her to make an appointment Monday and insist on further tests..especially when cancer has taken lives in her immediate family!
Looking for the midnight shift, guess all the excitement of the day and my guests coming in I'm wide awake..iif I soon don't fall asleep it will be downstairs sewing for me.
One good thing, I can have early morning muffins cooking and fruit mix ready for you all..
Now where is that Mary when you need her..hope she's enjoying the weekend!

Hope ya both have gotten back to sleep.
No, been watching movies, none the best! Going to give it an hour then up I get.
Don't you hate it when your mind won't shut down..guess for me it's all the activity of the day.
Thunder, you'll soon be having company..I remember it was going to be close to our thanksgiving? Bought a nice pattern for placematts I can share with you and will send you left over cut outs for the 12 month of Christmas quilt if you would like.
drats, even with the furnace on can feel the chill at the window over my bed, a cold one out there!

Morning, looks as though it will be a gorgeous day, rain in forecast but not until late evening!
Missed the night shift, caught the midnight shift and am too early for the morning shift..
Listening to my ministry show with prayers for those of you in need!
sitting watching the clock in hopes I'll not forget the muffins cooking..would have put the timmer on but Sailor's ears are prone to sounds and I don't want her howling and waking anyone..
Already been sewing, amazed at how smooth is goes when you you wide awake and bushy tailed...while sewing I could hear the cayote's..apparently they are in numbers this year, will have to allow a hunt shortly.
Well
Morning! My eyelids are finally dropping so off to bed I go at least for a nap@@@
BBL> Enjoy your day everyone!
Dianne
Wow you ladies were sure restless last night!! Hope you can get in a nap today sometime. I go crazy when I can't sleep.
Sounds like your sewing projects are going well Betty. You'll have to show pictures....
If you feed your couple breakfast the way you did Norm and I, they will surely go away full and happy. How was the wedding?
I had a wonderful phone conversation last night with Judy and Steve. They both sound wonderful. Steve's finger is doing good and he can't wait to get the stitches out. Judy is good but sounded tired to me. She has been helping Steve as much as she can. We must have gabbed for a good half hour or more. So good to talk with friends.
Thea - Norm and I are having Timmies this morning!! Thank you so much for our Sunday delights!!!! I MUST remember to have NOTHING to eat or drink in the morning tomorrow. Having that ultrasound......
Dianne, I hope this finds things easier for you this week. You are always in my heart and prayers.
Mary, hope your weekend turned out wonderful for you.
Crissy. Enjoy your roast today!!! They make excellent sandwiches.....
Elaine and I sewed yesterday and made a sailboat block for our quilt. It came out cute.
Finishing up some UFOs today and hoping to get a start on Sean's quilt this week.
Waving hello to all~~~ Off to start my day. BBL......
Morning Barb..Timmies??? frozen or sent to you by Thea??? We were chatty on-line buy y ou were chatty off line. Love getting calls from Judy..I AM NOT really a telephone gabber, wish I was, and you know be Barb, if not just ask Norm..I can CHAT!!!
Ohhh banana muffins smell so nice and I've a large bowl of fruit..oh/oh Norm I have grapefruit in it..never thought to ask my guests as to which fruit they cannot eat..oh well, I'll improvise if there is something in it they cannot have..
Not sure about the wedding as they are still sleeping..I've had 2 coffee's, not breakfast as yet..never sure if I should eat first and serve guests or sit with them and have mine while chatting..I'll try serving and see if I get invited..lol
Yes Barb, these 12 month quilts are sooo time consuming, know they will be gorgeous but ohhh the work in them and I'm no where finished..
Going to start with Friday..
Here is Arianna helping Aunt Betty decorate the spook tree
Guests had breakfast and now on their way home..said I had enough food and variety that would have fed an army..I so laughed Barb and thought of Norm, man got up from the table and hit his head on the stained glass lamp....ouch!!! think Norm did a few times as well.
Now have bedding and towels in the laundry, by noon everything will be tip top shape and I can play again..
Still wo rking on the last of 3, log cabin - 7 square block for row 7..
Just maybe I'll get a chance this afternoon to see if I can make a scarf??? wish me luck!
Bought the pattern for these placemats..she also had a set on the counter where she embroidered a large snowman in one of the blocks..was too adorable.
Good Morning!!!!
That Great Stuff ad is getting annoying.
Anyway, Betty so sorry you couldn't sleep last night! I went to bed at 9pm and didn't get up until 9am! I woke up at 6:30 this morning laying in bed just freezing, got up and it was 56* in the house and I had left 2 windows open! BBBBRRRRRR Shut the windows, turned on the heat, and found another blanket. Went back to sleep, woke up at 8 but too lazy to get up until 9.
Katie I guess you're back home by now, sorry your friend treated you so bad, that makes it for a very difficult visit and even more difficult to want to see her again.
Betty I have a good pair of snow boots, yes it does snow and ice here and I used to use them every winter in CA, I would go to the mountains and play in feet of snow. I'm looking for a pair of solid black rider boots to wear to work on casual Friday's.
Barb so glad you got to talk to Judy!! I'm not a phone person at all anymore since texting has become the new phone call, I'll text all day but I won't stay on the phone for 10 minutes. Do Not eat or drink anything in the morning!! What time is your appointment?
I am soooo mad at myself, I went out a couple weeks ago and bought new sheets for my bed, found these nice looking 400ct thread ones, get them home, wash them and they're scratchy and feel stiff. Look at what they're made of, 60% cotton, 40% polyester! I can't stand polyester! So I spent $80 on sheets that I hate.
Crissy, 56 is very cold for you is it not? You should be well rested then after 12 hrs. sleep, sometimes too much sleep isn't any better..nothing like sleeping in a cool room though!
You see so many girls wearing those rider books to work, nice skirt and top and look like a hundred bucks..you are so tall (compared to short me) that it would become you..what you need now is a fancy scraf drapped around your neck..lol..got to get everything together to make some..I'm all gung ho!
Did you try using a lot of fabric softner in your sheets? might help
LindaKay some fall color for you
Not for this time of year Betty, the nights are supposed to be this cold, it will warm up to the mid 70's today woohooooo!!! I don't dress in that style, I'm not a country girl and have never liked that look on me. It's just not me I guess. LOL The polyester is making them scratchy, I've washed them 4 times now and they're still the same. Oh well, I'll donate them I guess.
Nothing worse Crissy than being uncomfortable between the sheets..Is your office the fashion show wear outfits or more casual? Usually when young staff it more into style..
I've decided I'm going through my closets and throw what doesn't fit, buy me a couple good looking fall outfits so I can look like something other than what the cat dragged in..you should see what Suzanne and I look like some days when no clients are coming in.
Betty - now you told me those outfits were just for painting!!!! Really?? You don't wear those do you??? Now that you are working in the mall we will need to dress you up!!!!
my company comes on the 16th ^_^ late in the evening !!! I requested the 17th and 18th off?? don't know if I got it yet ??
Betty, what do you use for fusible on your applique?? and do you use a stabilizer behind your fabric when you do the stitching?? if so what do you use?? the pattern would be fantastic!! and the cut outs too!! will be lovely to have some of you in another quilt.
I made a new design wall, and I love it!!! It is that foam board / insulation comes in a 4 x 8 sheet, about an inch and a half thick. I have it covered in a very thin off white fleece, works great!! It is covered in Christmas blocks. I have blocks from three different Christmas / winter swaps, and I am playing with placement, trying to decide on sashing or not??/ and then of course I have to figure out the back side...I am trading some fabrics with Bev for some flannels, I was going to make a few rag quilts, but I am thinking I may use some of it for the back side of my Christmas quilt??? don't know???
It is not in a great position for taking pictures, but otherwise I love it !
Your design wall looks wonderful Thunder. It sure makes playing fun!!!!!
Omg Thunder I'm in love with your snowmen..too adorable for words! I see in the bottom right hand side just a tad of a snowflake, is that the block I sent?... Sure wish I had more time to sew over the next few months..so much I want to do..
Tomorrow I'll scan placematts easy 1-2-3 for you and e- mail it..can you d-mail me you email addy, not sure I have it..
As for the left over cut-outs , I'll get them sent out...
Going back too look at the snowman quilt, what I love best is the placement design not an even flow, makes your eyes want to travel throughout the quilt.
Barb, think anything I have on is meant for painting..
Off to take photo's of scarves and what I got done on quilt so far...not enough if you ask me. Lol
Wow she's a beauty..did you say it was coming my way?? Lol
See my snowman..so much fun seeing part of yourself in someone's project
Yes it does Barb!! I had one before, but it was just a flannel back table cloth hanging on a wall...which was very good, and it served it's purpose very well, but the hubs did not want me to do it that way in our hallway...so we got the foam and covered the pieces.....funny thing he said it was "ugly" when we first got it all up on the wall!! and said I needed to get some blocks on there quick !!!
this is in the hallway just outside of my sewing room, which has too many shelves and cabinets, going around the perimeter..so no space for a design wall...but I had to have one!! so in the hallway it is!!!
this is my "old" wall, which now has shelves on it
ohhh look at your stach, I'm envious, truly I am..
I've been working as well, 3 more rows for each of the 3 quilts then I can start putting together and embelling..better have mega rain in next few months so I don't want to play outside..lol
Missing row 5/6/11. row 11 Thunder if you look on your pattern copy I send which has 11 candies, NOT fond of taking that row ..any suggestions as to what I might put instead?
