LindaKay, no follow up appointment yet, I told her she should call and make one..I think though she has been overdoing it! She always comes to Meaford with us and is worried she will hold us back and ruin our day..told her to bring along a camp chair so she can sit when tired and still get to enjoy some of the festivities.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, rainy fall day in the works..
Hope it's sunshine in your neck of the woods.

SIL Marg asked me to pick her up in Midland to take her to Barrie, said she would be on time, called, went to voice mail so not sure she'll be up, outside and ready by 7:15am...can only hope!

Always love reading my Joel Olsteen 'thought of the day' e-mail..will share todays!

Every day, we have opportunities to get upset, be frustrated or get offended. Maybe you had plans that didn’t work out, or someone was rude to you at the office. Maybe you were doing something that should have taken one hour, and it ended up taking three. Life is full of inconveniences, but even though we can’t always control our circumstances, we can control our reaction. I heard somebody say, “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond.”
We should always go out each day with a positive attitude, full of hope and expecting God’s favor. But at the same time, we should recognize that most days are not going to go exactly as we planned. Remember, we were created to live in peace. Peace is our position of power. If you get stressed because you got off schedule or upset because your child wouldn’t eat his breakfast, or frustrated because somebody offended you, you’re are giving away your power. Instead, make the decision to release those offenses and disappointments so you can live in peace and enjoy the day as a blessing God prepared for you!

You did say cheese didn't you Mary? Whoa, I'll be there !!Personally I think cheese should be in a food group all on its own.lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Something I'm not fond of, soooo Mary you'll have to find something for me to snack on

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good Morning!!

Debbie so good to see you post so early!!

I'm not fond of the new ways they say to heal bones, I've broken my wrists and elbows 5 times and I've always had a cast. What happened to the walking casts and real plaster casts and all, removable braces just don't seem to be it but whatever, I'm not a doctor. lol

Some cheese is ok, but I'm not a huge fan.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same here Crissy, seems to have so much movement, just not as secure..way of making money I guess, you have to purchase a boot..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Well you had to purchase the cast and splint too but it just doesn't seem to be as secure.

Victoria Harbour, ON

It must be around 4 weeks since she has it Crissy and it looked so swollen/blue - brutal to walk on..think I'd be making another trip to doctor or hospital before permanent damage is done

Can't seem to settle in this morning..knitting and now I'm off to look at stained glass lamp patterns..think I'll make both Julie and Melanie a lamp for christmas..I'm sure I've mega glass somewhere, just need to purchased prisms

Doing anything to try and focus

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I hear ya Betty, I'm having a hard time too. I have someone who says they're $30.00 over but the check register shows they're $30.00 in the hole, so I don't understand what's going on.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Waving at ya Judy!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy, I was helping someone out one day re bookeeping...so out of sorts they were..funds didn't match up..something in the low tens of $$$ so I took it out of my purse, logged it in and said there, totals balance...
Easier than playing with books an entire day. wish all the problems of the world were that easy to fix!

Judy, so glad you are posting, best way to get out of your funkkkk is here with us.
Could very welll be the weather for you that's getting you down, but here, it's been fantastic except for past day or so..just the time of year..downer from summer behind us, winter ahead of us and here we are stuck inbetween. With having absolutely nothing to do for the next couple of days I'm thinking I should be home playing..will come in tomorrow it's payday but Friday I'm home...

Wish you lived closer so we could do some christmas crafting together! I've enough supplies to keep us going until christmas eve.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

How great to see you post Judy. I have missed you.
Oh, I looked back and just realized I never answered about the Christmas swap. I'm in too please. It is just within this thread right Dianne??
How are you and Warren doing today? You never answered about the chocolate so I think I"ll just send some anyway!!! Got to keep your guy happy!
Been busy today - got oil changed in the car and finished a table runner that I'm swapping. Must get it wrapped and off to the PO .
Waving to all~~~~ And I'll check back in later.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I do think it's just for us on the thead..we'll get more details from Dianne over the next few weeks..anxious for this swap seeing as we know each other so well..Barb you've been so busy, I'd have thought you'd have to relax and chat after your visit but you are more on the go now then before my house..

Judy, meant to say...I know with the economy being as it is that many won't be able to make the gathering, BUT, my arms will be wide open for those that can..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Did I mention a week or so ago that I was having gall bladder problems? Well, I was scheduled for an ultrasound last Friday (23rd) and I went to get it done and foolish me forgot that it was a fasting test and I had some coffee early in the AM. So we rescheduled for next Monday. I can't believe I was that foolish and forgetful.. Can I blame it on CRS??? I've been watching what I eat and it hasn't been toooo bad these last few days so I'm hoping it is just a small flareup.
Betty, I was at a discount store the other day and found velveteen blouses on sale for $4.50. So I bought a pretty blue one to use for a new Santa. I would like a couple faces if you don't mind???? Now I need to take a trip to Michaels to look for embellishments for them. And pretty ribbons etc.
By any chance do you have the size pieces written down anywhere that I need to cut out for the robe and sleeves? Now that this is all put together, I don't want to take it apart to measure. I need to order some hair too.....
Must get to the PO today so I'm off for a bit of lunch and then galivanting. Be back later....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, Dianne, Susan, Suse, Barb, Thea, Bev, Debbie, Judy, Mary, Shirley, Crissy, Laura, Joyce, Linda...

Hello everyone!!
I'm still in my PJ's and having a lazy day today looking through all the goodies I brought back from Barb's!!!

Mary I sooooo had to laugh at your "But Disney also gives all Canadian visitors free Fabric. And Plants for everyone. And a puppy to anyone from New York...and..." LOL Oh and I loveeeeeeeeeee cheese!! So I guess I really should come and visit you then...I mean who can resist free fabric and cheese!!! lol

Judy...so sorry you are feeling a bit on the down side. Biggggggggggggg hugs to you and guess what!!! I sat in the same chair as you did in Barb's quilt room...lol...I asked Barb...so this is where Judy sat and she said yep...right there!!! You were with us in spirit for sure. *sigh* would be so nice if the world was a bit smaller, less traveling and would be awesome if we could just meet for coffee or make crafts together and lift each others spirit. Hang in there girlie things will look up for you too...I know when I get a bit down I take time out and I meditate and that really helps me to get back on track again.

Barb sure hope you feel better soon and I guess we all will chip in and eat the greasy food for you that you crave sometimes...lol...just NO McDonalds for me...made that BIG mistake last thursday for lunch...felt aweful right after. Did you took a picture of the finished table runner? Would love to see it all done.

LK...yes I think that is all the people from here. I am really looking forward to this swap!!!

Ohhhhh and almost forgot...happy anniversary to you Suse and your DH...hope you have a wonderful day with lots of sunshine, love and laughter!

Betty is there a craft you don`t know how to do??!!! LOL I am just amazed of what you all can do and how fast you finish a project!!! Can`t wait to see pictures of the lamps.

Dianne I hope you and Warren are having a good day today...is it today he will receive Chemo/Radiation? If so we are with you both in spirit and in prayers. Love and many hugs!!

Debbie so good to hear that the tumor is NOT the big C...what a relief for sure. I am glad you enjoyed the pictures and this picture is for you too...I think if I remember right you love the ocean...so this is the Mediterranean Sea near Savona Italy...we were there in 2006.

Wishing you all a great day and lots of love and hugs to all
Thea

LK what swap is that? Im only signed up for the Halloween one.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne posted how fun it would be if we on the thread did a Christmas Swap and so far most of us jumped in and said 'add me' lol

You up to it?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh OK! I just wanted to make sure she didn't sign me up for a sewing or quilting swap, LOL that would be hilarious!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohhh Crissy, you are creative, you'd have managed..

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Sorry to be away so long....Dad is struggling.

Thanks to LK and Bertie, I reached my goal for the JDRF Walk for a Cure. Jordyn had at least 65 people there for her. I stopped counting then, so there were probably more than that.

Anyway...miss you guys!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Waving back Joyce..sorry your dad is having such a difficult time! Sending you hugs, know it's difficult trying to deal with your own emotions while trying to be supportive for your dad... did you receive the box yet? Should have!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty I don't think so, I don't have a sewing machine and I have tendonitis in my wrists so I don't think so!

((((((((((((((JOYCE))))))))))))))) I am so sorry that your dad is struggling so. Big big big congrats to Jordyn!!!

Verona, ON

Oh Crissy it would never be a sewing or quilting swap if I was one of the organizers.LOL This swap would only be for people on this thread.only. Betty if you want to start a separate thread for this Christmas Swap go ahead. It seems I have alot on my mind these days and even with lists manage to bungle things up.Debbie I know you would love to be involved so we've included your name - don't sweat it if your situation is still nebulous I'll cover the person whose name you received and with directions from you take care it. We'll talk later about that ok,but we all want you involved?

I guess we should decided on an upper limit cost wise, I would hate to see anyone withdraw because they were afraid the couldn't keep up with the Joneses (old Welsh expression). So I guess we should consider a guide for the cost factor, it doesn't have to be hand made, cut off date for mailing off the gift. I am not too experienced at this but felt I really wanted to share Christmas with you all. If someone wants to take over that has more experience I would be fine with that, Although I have to warn you my sweet DH was very excited about pulling names out of a bag to match sender/receiver.

Today's Radiation 5 hour session was cancelled a part broke on the scanner so we are waiting for them to call us. The Radiation Oncologist is anxious to have this done before Warren's chemo starts.

BBL. Remember my feelings will not be hurt if someone wants to organize the Christmas exchange and I will help so I can learn how to do one.
Dianne

Hi y'all!
OMG ... I've gotten so behind the past few days. I don't know if I can get caught up ... y'all sure have been chatty! LOL

First of all ... hi Joyce. So sorry your Dad is struggling so.

Dianne, you and Warren are in my prayers constantly. Thanks for keeping us updated and for popping in when you get the chance. You know how we tend to worry.

Debbie ... I was so tickled to see that short post from you. Sending lots of prayers and hugs ...

Barb, doesn't that just agravate you when you do something like that? Good luck for the test ... and I'm glad you've had a couple of good days.

So Mary, are you getting excited about the plant swap now?

Betty, I agree ... you are *one talented gal! ☺ Too bad you live so far away. I'd love to see your place. Speaking of which, I'm still expecting you at mine ... LMK what your plans are when you decide ...

Laura, thanks so much for the anniversary wishes. I'm good at stretching it out, ya know. LOL

I'm excited about the swap, also, but I'm not at all talented and I've never done one on this thread before so y'all will have to tell me what you like to do. I was in a towel swap one time and received the prettiest towels that still hang on my pantry door to this day. It is a towel angel. I received it just in the nic of time back when I lost my Kota, and I cried and cried. It meant so much to me. That's why I'm so excited about this.

Well, I've got to get to the kitchen for now so will BBL. I have a pork roast in the oven and am making potato salad ... turnip greens and will probably have cornbread. Now I know you folks up north probably don't eat turnip greens and cornbread but then if you like Cracker Barrel, you might. ☺ Off I go ...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Dianne I'll do it with you! That way Warren can still pull names out of a hat but I'll do most of the organizing. They're easy to do.

I'll start a new thread when I get home.

YAY!!!

Oh Dianne that will be fun for you and Warren to do. I should be able to get one of the girls to help me get it going for what I need to do.

Just this minute....a new life. Baby born and screaming its first "hello world".

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, how about we not start another thread.. I'll simply go see who said they would like to participate and i will add their names to to top of each thread as we start it.... that way it will make it easier for you to check over as I know your time is limited, your idea was wonderful,we all feel like we are family.. and as long as you don't mind heading it up, we'll all be here to help wherever /whenever you need us..
nope, don't want to see anyone NOT participate..think all of us will be thrilled with our Christmas gifts...we'll know it was sent out of love and that is what is important!! It will be supper special because Warren will pick our names..thank you Warren!! LindaKay thanks for the list of participants, maybe someone will come up with other names should we have missed anyone...

terrible about the equipment breakdown ..did they say it might be a few days?? Must cause havoc when it goes down.

Oh no Thea and Dianne, been listening to the news, they were saying change in weather coming, infact they even said the dreaded four letter word SNOW for Dundalk area..that is not far from here...yikes, get your shovels out girls!

does that mean you are in?? I will be dropping in one day, remember I know where you live. Lol

My house is nothing special, homey I would say, filled with love to welcome all who drop in..you never know, you might like to take a trip On the Canadian side...

As for talented, I take on a lot of projects, just don't master any of them, but it is a great way to keep myself out of mischief!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Debbie, how exciting is that..know how motherly you are, bet you'd love to go cuddle it...happy you will join in.. Will help should you need me to..

Barb, got your card today...ok you made me cry with your kind words..

Drats, they just said that four letter word again...

Ahhh, you can tell it's fall and cooler weather, Riley who isn't at all affectionate except for
This time of year is on my legs, snoring away just as comfy as can be.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, added names to top of thread..as you hear of other participants will add them

Are we missing anyone..if so, my apologies

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm sad,

Have any of you wanted to send a d-mail and get a response

No longer active??

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Who is no longer active Betty?
Come on everyone, please tell Dianne or Betty you want to join in on the Christmas swap. This will be so much fun!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well it's been awhile side I've been in contact with Shirley, she has been on my mind like crazy today..tried sending a dmail but it wouldn't sent so immediately I thought subscription, but it wasn't that, now she's subscribed till 2013..

Tried again and that's the response..now I'm sad and worried!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Also wanted to ask you Laura, has your son settled in at school or is he still fretting?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mary, just incase I don't make it for the night shift t thought I'd mention Kyle and I are watching a documentary on humming birds..Most of filming done in Baton Rouge where migration specialist tag their little feet..seems they come back to same garden year after year..they have one recorded for 9 years..very interesting..they are now changing their winter habitat to winter in your area vs more southern regions.

What time does the night shift start?
