She's about to...63... Summer is here and it is stil HOT!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debra, that is so pretty!
How do I get morning glories to make seeds? None of them I have on the front fence have produced seeds? Is it too hot for them? They seem to bloom OK, just no seeds!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

seed pods take a while to form, Linda. Have Patience, like a brug/MG lover should! LOL If you do not get pods, I have PLENTY of seeds to share..

Let me know if you decide you want to try it. I can always meet you somewhere. Maybe have a plant sale in the spring also. I can mail them or bring them to you in KS, MO or AK, have you ever been to the War Eagle Craft Show? She lives in wally world for sure...rofl. I have been to war eagle twice many years ago, we keep talking about going again just no one does it....rofl. It is something else.

Beautiful blooms, I am dragging stuff in cause the high at the end of week is suppose to be 60, lows so far are suppose to be in the 50's but I can't trust those guys. Trying to get things ready for two swaps. Need to mow, dang and I was all caught up...rofl. 90's tomorrow, here we go again.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debra, that is so pretty! If you get morning glory seeds, please let me know? Thanks

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Joyce, still think a DG reunion or Round Up would be great fun, wish we could get it together so to speak. Going down to Sis's on the 23rd.

LK, will collect seeds for you from those shibori morning glorys, as well as the others, they are not setting seeds yet, everything here is late, like it is spring or something.

reminder for Fruity... there might have been some questions on the origins of my blooms I have been posting on the MG forums, so I got this out and took a pic of it..

I have another wonderful taro plant that has arrived in the mail!!!! It is going to look great in the pond and I have a perfect place for it. Need to get some more gravel to use for planting. I have it in my dining room window at the moment soaking up the sunlight until I can get it into the pond. It arrived on saturday and traveled just fine. Thank you so very much. It is so exciting to have something that will actually GROW. We have a chance for some rain on friday... they say it is the best chance in a year... we say .. we will believe it when we see it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debra, hog the thread all you want, I love those morning glories! Susie, how come your not sleeping?

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

There is no such thing as hogging the thread, we love all the posts from everyone. Glad to have friends to read about what is going on and all the beautiful things they have growing.

Debra it is a sad day when plants are happier indoors than outdoors. That is what you call one miserable summer!

Susie, omg 2:09 am, I wouldn't have made very good conversation, in fact I wouldn't have made any sense at all seeing that DH watched TV until midnight and usually I can go to sleep but not last night! 4:30 came a little too early.

Heat wave today into the 90's high on Friday we will be doing good to hit 60.... Going to get the neem out tonight and get to spraying cause I am going to have to get serious about dragging things in. Several brugs have buds and don't want to hurt them but I have got to get things in. Dragged in all the plumerias since they really don't like cold weather and a few odds and end. I am thinking about hanging shop lights in the garden room especially toward the back.

New brug blooms with really long what ever you call those things..rofl

Messing up, sorry I forgot to downsize that picture.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Those things are called tendrils! And they are beautiful!

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

I call 'em twangers Happ. Glad to see some. Forgot what they looked like. :o)

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

That brug is huge but only has two blooms, but happy to have them. Bugs have decided to eat everything. I am think I should get them all in like Debra. It was dark dark by 8pm that doesn't give me much time in the evening to do much.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

beautiful bloom, Joyce. Mine are going to bloom inside, and that is okay with me. I already have hibs and morning glorys inside blooming..

Son is on vacation all week, so he is going to be bringing in some more "BIG" things. If it wasn't for all the stairs, I could do this myself I am sure, but the brug tubs are a bit heavy when there is a 7 ft tall brug in it already. Re-thinking plans here.. maybe just take them out of the big tubs, bring them inside, re-pot them to pots inside for winter, leave the inside tubs inside all year, lift out brugs and plants to outside tubs in spring. sure sounds easier than lugging tubs and planters up and down the stairs, don't it?

Thumbnail by joeswife
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

May be easier, but still sounds like a lot of work!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

nahhhh, well yes, it is a lot of work, but then, the rewards are far greater than the toil..
poor wore out ole butterfly, on it's last leg here..

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Well if you have a young strong gent who will do the lugging for you, go for it. But if you are like me, well your way is much better.... ;)

Wanna show you the stuff I have collected for my potting bench.

Glass with vine/butterfies is about 6ft long and that is going up about eye level on the back, it will be free standing so the sun can shine thru it.
Heater vent will be put on top so when I am repotting with new soil it will fall thru to the bucket below.
Cast iron sink (dumpster diving) will also go on the top.
It is going to be really long and big with shelves, cause I know me I will fill it up.
Guys got any other ideas I need to add? This is my one shot and I want to anticipate my every need....rofl.

Thumbnail by happgarden
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you have a good plan going there! Love that glass!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Thank you Linda Kay, if you think of anything let me know. I am only going to get one shot at this. I think I have pulled a 100 pictures off the internet on potting benches.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

All I can think of is maybe a pegboard near by, so you can put hooks on it for your tools?

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Good idea, peg board might not hold up outside, but I could put heavy screen and attach it on an area on the back under the glass and hang hooks on it and the tools. That hadn't crossed my mind....duhhh

Have you ever seen those old old kitchen cabinets that have one of those flour things where the flower comes out over the counter top or is in one of those flour curved drawers...rofl. I will be happy with trash containers....but gotta let the imagination run alittle.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

are you going to have any water? like a faucet and hose type with a sprayer maybe? U are so lucky to be putting that together!
