TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

My goodness Missy! Don't go there again (Betty - stop putting catnip in it!! lol) She's likely finding crumbs of food from meals you have while sitting there.....

Judy - so sorry to hear about Steve's loss of his friend, Brian - what a shock!
Mary - guess it's not your b-day for a few days yet - the 18th is Thursday, right? but you're celebrating a bit early?! cuz it's the weekend, right?

Betty - I wasn't "sewing while Bob fished" cuz I told him it was silly to expect me to sit and watch him fish, so we got a fishing licence for me too lol He said, rightly, that I'd said it would be too expensive for both of us to pay for licences, but....... as we were together and he was fishing, So Was I Going To!! :-~~~~
We're heading out again today, and will also be rafting. Here's Allen Bill Pond, and my DH fishing.

Here's my new hibby (have to have one in memory of Tubby, and last one is looking poorly after leaving it for 1 1/2 wks vacation....) so bought a new one the other day - such big blooms!!

I want to go fishing as well Susan..you know, always had a boat, never without one in some fashion or other but I've never taken a liking to fishing, fishies don't move quick enough lol I don't have the patience to sit quietly, how would you ever guess! A wonderful way to spend the day, glad you got the permit as well.

Beautiful hibiscus..don't have one, boo hoo, next year for sure..if they are like Rose of Sharons they don't like me..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I guess Patience must be my third name lol before my last one LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, that is so pretty!

Susan, did you catch any fish!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Love your mat Betty. You are so good at making those!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Too bad there isn't a karst for them! Laying here on my back, ouch..after I travel long distance it always takes a toll on my back for few days.

Overcast, did meek it to grocery store..actually got fixings for spaghetti sauce...now if I don't burn it barb we'll have spaghetti and salad one night..hope you like spaghetti?

Victoria Harbour, ON

LindaKay, did the insurance adjuster make it? Hope it hasn't been raining!

Kyle is away for the week, boy I miss him dropping in..

So quiet, still on couch..emailed Jeff.. Heading read 'did you call your mom today, know where she is?' got a quick reply, 'out of country all week, dirt biking today to u wind, will call tonight or tomorrow'

Busy lives, must call Greg now, have a list of 4 things done..quick easy things, just need another pair of hands, see what night he can come over...Tuesday night is perm night so that's out, not sure what night car goes in for radiator so not leaving too many for him to pick from!

I'll see if Mel is on night shift then he can come work for his supper...

Do you do same with kids, ask them over then give them chores, perhaps not, you've all hubbies to help, or NOT. lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, what kind of car do you have? Did you find a cheaper place for the radiator?

Victoria Harbour, ON

I have an Aveo, yes did manage to get it about $300.00 cheaper which I'm pleased about. Tomorrow I'll make sure there is fluid in the rad and watch the gauge, sure the order will be in on Tuesday.

How about your roof?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Part will be here tomorrow I hope?

Victoria Harbour, ON

What is a part LindaKay? Will they not have to replace the entire ceiling!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Lumber, drywall...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Reasonable, but then you have to pay labor and new hoses..with being on the road so much I thought I best let them get the radiator it's suppose to have.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will someone do it for you or will you have someone come in and do it?

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All !

Susan - What do ya'll catch and do you fry it ? Love fish... Your Hibby is beautiful... I have a white wings which is similar but hasn't bloomed but twice all year. Betty my Rose of Sharon is very weak... I saw ants all over it...they like to eat the sweet stuff aphids leave.... so I sprayed with Triple Action...

LOL... didn't really feel like my bday today but some friends are taking me to lunch Thursday so maybe will feel better then.

Liz - I am so sorry for your loss... such a sad thing when so unpredictible... I still dont' know what happened to my cheer Momfriend.....

Lyndonville, NY

Could he be saving the birthday present for the acutal birthday??? Maybe????
I better get that hole dug....pronto!

I spent all day cleaning....and so much still needs to be done. I don't get my Dr. release until the 24th....but I just can't take this anymore. No one does anything to help.

My nerves are shot waiting for news from DH's work this week also.

Well, I think I am going to head to bed.

Judy & Steve....sending more hugs & arm wraps.
Liz you and Kenny are in my thoughts...hope you made it home safely.

Good night all....
Debbie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Didn't catch anything today - little stiff and sore from being out in the sun all day.
Betty - got into the dinghy, but it's too small for the 2 of us... Bob's long legs and all lol
I got in it, but only managed to go about 5 ft and had a heck of a time getting back to shore! When I got back, I had to put my knees up under and then get out of the swerving dinghy. I must have twisted my bad knee cuz later on I was having pains in it.
Anyway - upshot is, Bob got in and was doing ok (he just had to show me how to do it!!!! LOL )
Here's a pic of him, all length hanging out LOL
He didn't get a pic of me in the dinghy - likely because he was watching out for me and didn't want me to fall in lol

Good middle of the night everyone, back to sleepless nights, not good!

Mary,Not spoilt brat, just want to be acknowledged as a mom, you would think that for someone who gives so much that someone in the family would do something major for your birthday.....won't give my verdict on dh and kids until next weekend as I'm hoping something is in the works!

Debbie, I'd let them wallow in dirt/mess..would not be cleaning their mess especially when you aren't well,but I'm sure that would be harder to do than cleaning! Has the swelling gone down? Can't even imagine the pressures you must be feeling re Paul"s job, have they made any indication as to if any of the present staff will be kept on ? If so we" ll be praying!

Thought and prayers are with Dianne/Warren, Janice , Bev and Shirley this early morning and all those in need!

Judy and Steve were spending the evening with Brian's girlfriend ..seems Brian made some bad choices..so many lives will be affected by his decisions.sending arm wraps Judy!

Susan, lol not easy things to get into, no wonder Bob had to keep an eye on you..you can swim like the fishes right? No din/din tonight.Barb, one week from today, oh happy days!

Waving to all!

The countdown continues----FIVE 5 FIVE 5 FIVE days!!!! And then we hit the road. We are soooooo ready for this. Thank heaven I have the SUV as the stuff sitting on my sofa to be packed is growing by leaps and bounds. I'm going to take a picture of all that is there for my trip albumn but can't show to anyone yet.....Don't want to give away my surprises now do I????
This week is rest - well some rest maybe - I still have Sean on Tues and Thurs and then there is BOM on Wed and shopping and laundry and packing. Whew - now I"m exhausted. Think I'll go take a nap!!!

Lyndonville, NY

Oh Barb, I am getting excited! Can't wait to meet you two!

DH woke the ENTIRE neighborhood up this morning. Went to move cars and set DDs new cars alarm off....and didn't know how to shut it off! Yes, a 4:30 a.m. wake up call for sure.

Betty, regarding his job, nothing is known. Right now it would all be speculation....but would be hoping they would take some of the employees over to the new. He still has his knee surgery and elbow surgery to get thru before the end of the year.

Have to run....
Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Barb, going to be a long week for you..lol

Is it Saturday morning you leave or Friday night, guess I could scroll up and check..Hope all that you are packing is not for me...just bring yourselves is all I ask!

Lordy, mom called me, she's purging as they want to sell their home and get apt. and spend most of the time at the cottage which is same as a home so as she boxes things up she says it's coming to my house incase I want it..years ago when I was teaching ceramics I airbrushed a set of about 9 pieces, Christmas carollers, did about 6 sets..gave mine to DIL, now mom says what she has is being returned to me, just what I need, more Christmas things. Then, says she's come across sleighs, craft materials etc. etc. so finally said send it all and if I do not want it I'll give it to the seniors group or donate to nursery home.

Debbie, then there is still time for a miracle to happen..so hope he's one that gets taken on..could the operations he needs deter them from hiring him...

Whatever happened about the enhanced drivers license???

Victoria Harbour, ON

Friend sent me this, thought of Tubby right away...

Here's to Tubby girls, his joke of the day..so looked forward to them...had quite a sense of humour our Tubby did!!

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have. Ralph and Edna were both patients in a mental hospital. One day while they were walking past the hospital swimming pool,Ralph suddenly jumped into the deep end.

He sank to the bottom of the pool and stayed there.

Edna promptly jumped in to save him. She swam to the bottom and pulled him out. When the Head Nurse Director became aware of Edna's heroic act she immediately ordered her to be discharged from the hospital, as she now considered her to be mentally stable.

When she went to tell Edna the news she said, 'Edna, I have good news and bad news. The good news is you're being discharged, since you were able to rationally respond to a crisis by jumping in and saving the life of the person you love.... I have concluded that your act displays sound mindedness.

The bad news is, Ralph hung himself in the bathroom with his bathrobe belt right after you saved him. I am so sorry, but he's dead.'

Edna replied, 'He didn't hang himself, I put him there to dry..
How soon can I go home?'

Pacifica, CA

oh thanks for all the well wishes!
yes been quite the vacation despite all the commotion we still had a good time just love Judy and Steve and all the kids and their significant others and Alissa!
if you have never stayed with them well let me tell ya, you can let your hair down and be yourself and do whatever makes you happy just a great bunch of down to earth people!!!!

of coarse i like to get in the kitchen and cook lol don't think they minded it gave them a vacation too Chicago is much like our San Francisco but Wisconsin omg!
it is a world all in its own so peaceful and quiet just to walk out the backdoor and go on he dock and fish ahhhh my kind of living!the worst part about the lake, you could be done with fishing and go on the deck to chill and those darn fish would be splashing out of the water making fun at us, now talk about getting irritated he he he, at one point Kenny had to go inside he was so agitated from all the splashing.

but it was a good time for all, now to come home and find where my sister put everything she did some rearranging :O
so today were still off have to take the other dog to the vet he has some itching issues gawd more money to make our vet richer.
but the nicest part was seeing betty again and meeting ann she is the nicest lady and getting to meet kim.

but i need to get ready for vet

judy and steve love you guys

here is a pic of the angel we lost two weeks ago.

Glad you made it home safely Liz/Kenny..as always, it's a pleasure seeing you both..I get such a kick out of Kenny!!! He's just so cool even though he does get me into trouble and has to explain life in general to me...lol

Now you have to put those pennies away for Canada.. best get that passport ordered!!!

Awww, look at Rainey, bet that's why your little one is having itching problems..anxiety for sure..

So nice to see you post..was just thinking when I saw your name come up..you and Judy were the first gals on this thread, been about 5 years..

Yep we've seen Judy's family age..were just little tykes when I first visited Glenview..

Don't be a stranger

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear your both back home. So sorry to hear about more vet bills!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Liz, forgot to say how everyone LOVED my pot people..now I just have to have the large one to sit in back shaded area...have to see when pots go on sale..

How are you this morning Lindakay, what is the temperature today?? One good thing about it, if it's hot it should dry up the wetness, guess not if it's damp though.

Lordy, Paul should go away more often , talk about good humour..even reminded him I start holidays on Friday, usually when I say that he's in a tissy..lol

They came back from the East coast because they said the weather was extremely cold, that being so might as well be home enjoying his lakefront.

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I have found those pots are MUCH cheaper at Michaels than they are at gardening stores. Don't know if it is the same in your area.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good Morning!!!!

First of all, (((((((((((((DIANNE))))))))))))) Many many thoughts and prayers.

Happy Belated Birthday Mary!!!! Your birthday and my mom's birthday are the same day! So glad the party we well!!

Liz so glad you made it home! UG more vet bills and I am so sorry about Rainey.

Betty glad you got that radiator fixed, might be time to look into another car, when one things goes it's usually nickle and dime afterwards.

I owe I owe back to work I go!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Liz - I'm with you - I'd rather the peace and quiet of the backwoods and fishing than big ole city of Chicago! So, it's funny that I should move from quiet sedate Winnipeg that I grew up with and love the architecture, to bustling Calgary with it's steel/chrome/glass! Ah well, it's close to the mountains/streams and camping that I love (throw in horseback riding, and I'm SOLD!!) lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy, glad to see you post, was starting to fret...was beginning to think you were off and running with the hmmm deli guy? lol kidding of course

I found out the problem Crissy, they are ordering the radiator and should be repaired shortly...nope, don't want payments on new vehicle..will wait a bit!!! In almost 155,000 kl I've only done wheel bearing, regular maintenance except for this sooo not bad at all.

Crissy you aren't late with Mary's birthday wishes, it isn't until August 18th.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, you are a country girl at heart..been looking at photo's from Chicago this morning and I'm thinking, it will be dullsville here for the reunion in 2012 ..not much happening in my little town..but then nothing like Georgian Bay!!!

Verona, ON

Oh Betty I don't think your neck of the woods could be called Dullsville!! My heavens, Georgian Bay itself is such a wonderful sight. Will any of those coming scuba dive? Even if they don't, a crusie out of the Tub (it used to be about a 2 hr cruise) and seeing some of the wrecks is worth a million dollars (at least for me).Just sitting in the harbour at the Tub and watching those huge boats coming in - I always think what kind of job do you have that you can be out on a boat this size!! All those that attend will have a blast!

LOL at the car alarm Debbie. AT least Paul figured out how to shut the dang thing off.

Not a particularly nice day here today - it is sultry and the air is heavy. Soon be time to put the AC on for the day. It gets so cool here at night I open the windows to get some fresh air in the house.

Barb how amn more sleeps do you have before you leave? Not that you are counting or anything.

~~~~~ to everyone!
Dianne
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)
I'm a dual brained person, Betty - would love to live in the country BUT want the convenience of the city...... I need people as much as I need to be alone........ I would not want to live in the country I don't think, cuz where would I go shopping and to work? IF I were close to a metropolitan area where I didn't have to go downtown and could go to say - Barrie - I think I would be happy. BUT then I would need to be retired, cuz then I wouldn't have to drive to work, etc......
So, you see my dillema?
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)
I should add - I hate crowds, and I'd rather drive in a small town than downtown where I have to contend with parking issues/costs and I may get lost..... Bob chides me for not going out of my area and wanting him to drive my car when we're in strange areas. I want simple straightforward areas to drive in, and I don't like driving more than 2 hours at a stretch........
Victoria Harbour, ON
Thanks Dianne for your support..we sure do live in God's country and am sure everyone will enjoy the quaintness...going to take Barb and Norm on boat ride one evening to Big Chute Marine Lock..different and Norm should find it interesting..
Greg and Mel were in Tobermorey and were scubba diving, nope, doubtfull any of us women except for Holly would be into scuba diving but who knows, we're usually game for anything..lol..besides, having Christmas/Thanksgiving/New Years and a birthday party all rolled up in a few days will surely fill our time.
I'm so hoping you will be able to met up with Barb/Norm even for a few minutes, know Barb is anxious to give you the biggest hug from all of us.
Different with working inside a mall, you don't know what the weather is like outside. Client just came in and said it was hot but not humid. I also had the a/c off last night and put it back on this morning, glad I did!! OMG, went to walk the gardens and realized I hadn't given the fish their din/din yesterday, thank goodness for growth plants, surely they could fee off of that. First thing I did was check to see if the were floating!
Suzanne, my home is only 8 minutes from Midland, 15 to Penetanguishene (my home town), Barrie 45 minutes, Orillia 45 minutes and Toronto 1 1/2 hrs. so not bad having them at hand..my little town has grocery store,beer/liquor store/post office, hardware store, 1 restaurant, pizza house, 2 variety stores, hairdresser, library sooo everything at hand!
