Best/Worse/What did I learnt today? Chat with friends..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Home from shopping and so tired out. Why is it the one day I need to go shopping is the one everybody else goes too? The stores were so crowded. You could hardly get through some of the isles!!! Oh, well, it's done and now I can chill for the rest of the day...Sure I can.
I'm just about all packed and ready to go. Can't wait.......And Betty we both just love animals so no problem there!!! We have a cat and our daughter Stacy and the boys are coming every day to feed her, clean the litter box and sit with her for a while . She is such a sweetheart and such a "people person" too. She just loves to meet people but doesn't get in your face at all. She will be in good hands.

Shirley, it's so nice to hear from you. Glad you have help and it sounds like the major things are getting done. I would just completely wash those girls away at this point. Hope you will be able to come back and chat more often.

Laura, I'd be looking into finding someone to keep an eye on your son. Especially since you say this isn't like his behavior at all. I hate the thought that someone may be bullying him. Is the school aware that he has been getting sick?

LK so glad the roof is repaired. I know the inside is still to be done but at least you are protected again. And the $$ isn't bad at all considering what it would have been without the insurance!!!

Susan, how are things going up there? Hope you and Bob are able to keep busy. Still no word on jobs???

I'm off to clean up the kitchen and get something out of the freezer for dinner. Talk to you all soon...

OH, I almost forgot - when we went fishing on Sunday, you'll never guess what we saw at the ole fishing hole! A wedding couple.... strolling down the shore, and will a photographer - obviously taking pics after the ceremony. Here's a few pics (he looks like he love to have a rod/reel in his hands and go fishing!)

Puter guy is back and may be able to fix my puter by tomorrow. Meanwhile, it's so hot and humid it's ridiculous.

I have finished most of the second wall and got the shelves back in place. Am low on supplies so the rest will have to wait. However, I've been able to sort out more fabric and stuff for Tony's family.

Someone dropped a kitten off yesterday. None of my dogs are used to cats so we are doing adjusting to be sure it is safe. It's friendly. And today I saw a big road runner type bird in my yard. The birds and the dogs pretty much ignore each other but cats are regarded as fair game.

Eaaaven the a/c doesn't keep my bedroom cool. I sit and sweat with the a/c on. Have to get insulating film for the windows next time I'm in Ca.

Hot and tired now but my pain killers got here so I've gotten some sleep and feel better.

Very little happening here - we are blessed.

hugs, katie

SHIRLEY!!!! So glad to see you post and glad your SIL was there to help you for a bit, you are a busy one!!

Katie I know about humidity, ICK!! Glad your computer guy is fixing your computer and your pain meds got there.

Well I have nothing except Stop The Madness here at my work!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy did they take from your applying for a position of more responsibility because you were bored and wanted a challenge that they decided to increase your work load..

Got home and what was left of container flowers were looking pretty dried out...even though it looks like rain I decided to water..Greg pulled in with a 'hi' asking if I'd lost it as it was raining lightly, why was I watering. Ooops, so shut off hose and rained stopped..guess the trick drills is to stand with hose in hand and it will rain!! LindaKay, that means 2 hoses for you!

Katie, glad you will be on-line again, hope it was nothing too serious. Will the kitty be with you permanently? They have a way of showing dogs the'll not take a back seat, once that is show their claws they get to make themselves at home.

Have a bit of painting to do, trying to decide if illwork a few hours today or wait until the weekend. Tomorrow night is perm night and not soon enough. Look like community witch right now.

Guess I'll start with din/din

Barb thought of something on my way home..before crossing over into Canada fill your vehicle to the brim as it's much cheaper your side of border

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - that's only true in some cases - when you change "gallons" to "litres" and then Don't Hit the Tourist Traps...... (in either country), you May get it cheaper, but we didn't find it so when we went to Montana. Plus, Bob has diesel and not every station carries it, so we were stuck filling up in St. Mary's cuz they didn't have diesel before the border, nor in Babb in Montana.

Hey Crissy, sorry to hear your work is hectic! praying it simmers down soon for you!

Susan, there is a savings of about $10.00-15.00 (my little car) on each of my tank fills regardless which states ive travelled in and I'm always USA bound. Always excites me when I cross the border, more gas bang for the dollar!

Drats, Cathy dropped in for a chat so I said come gab with me while I paint...got the taping done, went to get. The gallon of paint and realized I left it at the paint store,,listened to my voice mail tonight and it was TmBrr mart telling me that we must have tabbed up a storm because Bill helped me out with my bags and didn't realize paint was still on the counter...guess it want meant to be!

Early but off to bed I go

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Well Betty - at least they know it's your paint! It would be awful to have paid for it and not get it....

Hello To All !

Katie - what will you name the new cat ? Sorry for the AC issues....is it central or window unit ? Susan love the wedding PIC... I agree the bachelor just wants to go fishing and the other fishermen could care less LOL....
LK - wow I just realized DH has been in Santa Fe.... is that near you ? (I mean I knew where he was...just realized it might be nearby YOU) he txted me pics of a Buddist Temple / monks...was very neat. Are you near Galveston ?
Laura - I agree - go meet the teacher.... Especially since he is not opening up to you....wonder what Mama Debbie thinks the best step is... I'd follow her advice...
YAY Shirley ! Great to see you ... always have the plan of action ready and in place... that's great... too bad about those girls... and shame on them... agree re: Karma...
Deb - must be why Nate is so skinny... think he needs a little home cookin'....
So glad Bev got her cast off.... pretty flowers as usual. Bev - there is a fall garden sale this Sat.... and I know they will sell daylilies.... if I buy any... do you think I should go ahead and put in the ground? It's pretty hot lately... but I'd want to get it established before next year. I'll look for the pickles one :o)

Barb - what is BOM? So excited for you all.....

Betty ....just not your night to paint. I'll pop back on in a bit...

(hugs)
Mary

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

BOM = Block Of The Month = quilt block
I used to get those, but I had to give in the previous month's block in order to get the next free BOM and I couldn't keep up! ......

Lyndonville, NY

Laura...try this. Does he ride the school bus to school? Ask him if he wants a ride in instead of the bus. The problem might be a bully or such on the bus itself. Other issues I have seen with the younger kids....bullying in the bathrooms at school. Kids gotta go, they get bullied in there...can't go because of the fear....and it causes all kinds of issues.

A good way for a conversation.....Just casually while doing homework, ask how school is going. Then "If you could change one thing about school....what would it be?" You might get your answer in a roundabout way.

I have had a rotten evening.....heading to bed. Sweet dreams

Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

Oh Deb... Many ((HUGS)) Don't want you to ever have a rotten evening... that sucks.
Thanks Susan for the BOM Definition... I had no clue. BAM around here means "Books A Million" a store ......LOL
Many hugs and wishes for Dianne and Warren...

I'll pop on again in a bit but about to go to bed a LONG day tomorrow...

Hugs,
Mary

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

((((((Debbie))))))) so sorry you had a rotten evening - hope you have sweet dreams....
Good suggestion to Laura - not being able to go to the bathroom would make a little one's tummy hurt...

Mary - you're welcome - not too long ago I didn't know what BOM was either, and people were talking about it when they were posting..... megga confusion lol
