Sweet Interruptions 223

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, you need to do what you feel is right! Praying it works out for you!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Well, I can tell everyone about my camping experience, but can't find my camera so can't post pics!! When Bob gets home tonight, I'll see if I left it in his truck.....
1 Arrived Friday July 22 at noon, and set up. Ate dinner at Heritage Inn - Pasta Night, so they make your pasta sauce to your specifications! gonna have to try that.
2. Kicked around on Saturday and just enjoyed the day. Did this a couple of different days.
3. Went to September Springs Ranch and had an English Tea with Devonshire Cream and preserves on English Scones and some lovely Black Currant Tea, while sitting in a gazebo in an English Garden. Went back a few days later and had some more tea and pie.
4. Went to Cardston to visit some old friends (Ron & Reeva) and some new ones (Larry & Shirley). Went back another day and viewed the Card homestead (Mennonite) and the Temple - got pictures, naturally.
5. Went to Montana's Glacier National Park and went through a mountain glacier, then took some awesome pics!
6. Took a trip to Frank Slide (1915 - the entire mountain face avalanched and took out a lot of the town - Frank was a mining town and they're still trying to figure out if mining the mountain contributed to the slide. What a lot of rocks!!
7. Met some new friends from Lethbridge, Alberta and will be keeping in touch - Winston, Marqriet and their daughter Joselyn. They're dutch, and a very nice couple.
8. Returning from Cardston last Monday, ran into severe rain, and by the time we got back to the campsite, we discovered it had hailed - have some pics, and Bob scooped up enough that he could have made a softball with it! No problems with the dining or regular tent, but boy was the underside of the tent Wet! The weight had bent the tent a bit, but once cleared popped right back up.
We did a lot of sightseeing, and really enjoyed it so much, we're going to see Winston and Marqriet the last weekend of the month at the same campsite again, for the weekend.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Sounds like a great time, except for all the rain. Something I'm sure I would enjoy. Looking forward to seeing some pics.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

we Found My Camera - it was in Bob's truck
I'll have to upload either tonight, or tomorrow! I'll post the link asap.

Here's a link to our sightseeing while camping - Montana and Alberta (Pincher Creek, where we camped; September Springs Ranch; and Frank Slide)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Great pictures Susan! Love the scenery, and the lovely artisans works are pretty too!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yes, Elaine does wonderful work, and we plan on buying a piece of hers each year we go (or, each time, dependant upon finances - the pieces we got so far are only $20 each so it's not bad at all!)
Some of the pictures we took didn't show up on the flash drive, so not sure what happened to them. They're still on the camera memory card....... which isn't working on my computer!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Beautiful pictures, Susan!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

My memory card from my camera is working again, so I'm going to upload the balance of the pictures - will take some time editing them, so will let you know - Cardston, and the hail we had at our campsite!

thank you all for the bd wishes.
i ate the whole cake, sorry i didn't share. but you know how i get around cake !
your all so sweet
sorry to make this short again.
Best wishes to you Cindy. good luck with Doug. I will pray for him and you.
we are busy with 4 h this week and next.
Tim made it home yesterday and will leave again on the 19th. :(

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thank you so much Susan for the vacation!!! I truly felt like I was with you and Bob. As I looked at these pictures, I kept thinking "that's a great shot for a puzzle" over and over again. You have an excellent eye for framing a picture with it's surroundings.. Just wonderful...

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, Barb - I know seeing the picture isn't the same as actually "being there", but I do love nature pictures and sightseeing.

btw - speaking of sightseeing - I just watched a video I bought in Glacier Park re: Glacier and Waterton Peace Parks. I have some updating to do - f'instance:
At Logan's Pass we were 6,680ft above sea level - no wonder we were in the clouds among ice and snow fields and glaciers!
The yellow alpine flower we saw is the Alpine Lily and it takes several years to get through the ice (up to 8") and bloom
Ghost Island is actually called Wild Goose Island (ooopsie!)
At the beginning of the park (eastern end) is St. Mary's Lake, then it was 10 Mile Long Lake until the furthest west end where it becomes MacDonald Lake (we didn't go that far).
The "chipmunk" is actually a Golden Mountain Ground Squirrel
The Mountain Goat is really a Goat Antelope (although everyone calls it a Mountain Goat)
Logan's Pass is named after the first Wildlife Ranger
The long thin mountain up by Logan's Pass is called the Garden Wall
Waterton National Park (Canadian side) does not have any glaciers! (it's tallest mountain is over 9,000 ft!). Go figure, eh?

It's a good thing I got this video - now I can give correct info, so will update my album :-)
Here's a sunset we saw while at Pincher Creek, Alberta - I so love sunsets!!

Just beautiful...

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Oh Susan, you do take beautiful pictures! That sunset is awesome.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY SUE!!!!!!!

Jaye hope your computer woes go away soon, seems you get these woes way too much lately.

That's gorgeous Susan, gonna go look at the rest!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I keep finding out more info about places/plants I took pictures of, so I'm still updating lol
I found out what the 3 flowers' names are, f'instance, and also the names of the mountains and glaciers.
Also, I didn't realize some of the pictures were on their "sides" LOL
Maybe wait an hour and then look again - I should be finished updating by then. View the slideshow, and pause where I've put in a "Paragraph" LOL

good morning
today is brownie and cookie day
kids need to make them for their 4 h fair project.
i don't think i will have time on sat morning to get them made. ?
i wanted to do cherry and white chocolate brownie for Austins but i think we will stick with the smore style brownie
savannah is doing choco chip with mini m& M's
take care and hugs to you all

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Happy belated birthday dear, dear Sue!!
I wish my arms are long enough to reach out and give you a big big hug!
Austin, Savannah, please hug your Mama for me and give her kisses on her cheeks please!

Phew, was I glad when Kel solved the circuitry problem!! A big relief there knowing the pc and the monitor is not fried!!

Yes I'm back! You're right Crissy, the darn ISP company need to refund some money!! Lately THEY'VE been having lots of problems, and sometimes when we call, they act surprise as we'll be the first to call. Tells you how many subscribers they have :(
Can't afford any deals on a faster connection. Even the ones televised, as you had to read the fine print "Applicable in certain areas".

On a happy note, I've been making sure this pc is fully utilized even though I can't 'talk' to y'all. I've been having a movie marathon on it!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Morning everyone.

Sue I wish you hadn't mentioned the cookies and brownies!! I was doing so good not wanting any of those since Kim can't have them. Not now. Hummm, wonder if I could sneak some in and hide them? Wicked me.

What good movies Jaye? I just got us Rio as the GD and their Mom said it was really cute. Need something that doesn't require brain power--mine is fried from the heat and humidity.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

"How to Tame a Dragon" for one is a no brainer, but FUN for the family. How about "UP"? I'm sure you've seen it. All the Ice Age movies, "The Ant Bully" and "Rango".. I can't understand Beans most of the time!!
I've been watching a lot of foreign movies too like Indian "Monsoon Wedding", French "L'enfant". Watched an Inuit one "The Fast Runner"... surprisingly good. Please borrow "Babette's Feast" (Danes) if you hadn't. I rewatched that. It's an annual must for me.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I loved Rango---not for the actor's voice but to see how many of the movies it had reference to. Go to be a game with me and Kim. Will have to check some of those out. Every now and then I need some no brainers!! I was watching something rather serious the other night and totally messed up my cross stitch pillow top I was working on. Oh at the taken out I had to do to correct it. LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That's the thing with serious movies.. you can't take your eyes off them for fear of missing the 'hidden' clues.
Good grief, I haven't cross stitched in ages!! They gave my eyes nightmares!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I loved Rango!! and Rio !!! Have not seen Up

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Awww Thunder... you mustn't miss "UP". You need tissues for this one. Good for all ages!

Rio is on our list!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Darn.. crs moment here... came to say that bad storm approaching.. so if I disappear again.. sigh.. hope not :D

Cindy, if that's what your heart wants, then you both have to work hard at the alliance. I'm not an expert at love matters, but I know that if I had kept my mouth shut, a lot of hurtful words won't come out and maybe my ex won't be an ex.
But then, if I hadn't let go.. I won't meet Kel.
I wanted to join the b'house swap, but I can only commit one swap per month as finances are so tight with Kel's new job.
Sorry gal.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I love all the "no brainers" on your list, Jaye! Have never watched Rango, though. Rio was funny!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Rango is fantastic...atleast I think so. His voice is so, so, ....well you know. LOL

I haven't a clue why all of a sudden I picked my cross stitching back up. Maybe because I had a pattern I wanted to do using variegated thread for a pillow. Then maybe I just needed a break from working on the afghan for Mom. It is to hot to do that now...even with a/c.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, sounds like I need to get those movies for the kids. I have not see any of them yet.
Glad your back online!

i love How to Train a Dragon ! and Up. they are all good
taking a break from cooking
brownie's are in the oven and just need a few more min ?
choc chip c ookies are not what i would call winners but ??? don't got enough time or butter to make more :(
so we will hope for the best.
got my jams and jellys ready and my applesauce.
tonight we go to the Truck pulls.. uhg. :P

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Goodness LK, you have a lot of catching up to do! I'm a cartoon nut!!

Marion, please show us the afghan when you're finished? It must be a mental thing working with wool even though you have a/c on.
Last afghan I worked on has P!!! Nope, it's not for me.. :D

Hope you had a good time at the truck pull, Sue.

Great to be back online. Good night sistahs.. sweet dreams...
