I've asked the HR advisor to look into this - if the courier co doesn't know there's a tank of water in the box, then the rest of the contents could be wet and ruined too! Bet it smells like dead fish....... (it's been hot here) darn it anyway!

We had rain Thursday evening . Soooo glad to have camper.
Drove back home on Friday for DS graduation then drove back to campground (round trip 3 hours)
Celebrated DD2 Birthday on Saturday....swimming,cake and pizza.
And now we are home laundry and groceries and maybe some time for sewing.

Mary sounds like you are busy too and Laura as well. After the weekend it is good sometimes to chill for a moment or two before we start all over again.
I'm still trying to understand why you were not allowed to get your things Susan. Sounds very suspicious to me and I hope you went through your purse to check if anything was missing. NOBODY touches my purse without my express permission and in my presence. I'd be filing a theft suit against them if things are not to you by now....I know, I get carried away sometimes when I feel something is unjust. Sorry.......

Barb - it's the custom not to make anyone get a chance to say "goodbye" and make a clean break of it, cuz the management might feel "uncomfortable" and you might take the chance to steal confidential files or something....... so I never got to go back to my desk.
I still haven't gotten my stuff, nor any indication of whom the courier company is so I can call them myself.

Barb, I think it's standard that once a company gives you notice you are escorted out without being able to go to your desk, reasoning is that one could do so much damage..ie computers/files etc. Personally I think it's inhumane to put someone under pressure with everyone watching as you are escorted out!!

Laura, sorry you got rained out for a bit of your weekend..you have to wonder if its worth it, so much to pack up then so much to clean once you are back home!!

Susan, Barb is right, is there a corporate headquarters office you could call and let them know how you've been treated through this whole thing and file a complaint? I know you contacted HR but that's who is allowing this so that may not get you far. That's very very crappy of them to do you that way, or anyone else for that matter. That's just wrong, I'd be pissed. You should have been allowed to your desk to get your personal items (these items are yours, not theirs) by security or admin or HR or somebody. I have never in my life heard of anyplace where you couldn't go to your desk and get your items.

Susan to be honest, I think that breaks the Invasion of Privacy Act here in the states, I know you're not here in the States but I'm just saying.

I just spoke to the receptionist, and she didn't make the arrangements for my stuff - the newest management secretary did, and to be honest (I thought this while I was there.....) she's none-too-bright. She's the one who called me on Friday asking me where my files are.
The receptionist asked if I wanted her to call me to let me know who the courier was. I said "No".
I just got an email from the advisor - apparently the courier attempted 2x on Friday to deliver. There is NO WAY we missed it. We jumped every time we heard a car door 2 doors away - and watched out of the window. I emailed her this. My DH wants the courier co name and we've asked several times....... they aren't disclosing it.
