Best/Worse/What I did learn today? Chat with friends..

Well, it's now day two and I am doing better than ever!!!. I am still in awe about how I can see with the corrected eye. It really makes what I thought was the good eye, truly a bad one. But that gets taken care off on the 22nd. I figure by July I should be truly golden!!!! The dr has said that I will still need to wear glasses but I surely don't mind. I've worn them for 50 years now so what's another 50???? I looked at the sewing machine but that's all. I don't want to push anything until I'm ready for it....
Sounds like everyone is doing well and I'm sending hugs and prayers where needed. Off to see Sean now - this is his last late start day of the year so I want to chat with him. ~~~to all..

Morning, sunshine day but sky will darken and rain will fall most of the weekend..drats, so wanted to make that secondary pond!!! Neighbor took week off and finally started to clean the yard, he worked last two days to level the ground for a WalMart pool that he hasn't put up in a few years and what did he find..lots of rocks so of course I said I'd gladly come and get them which means I'll surely have a bad back at some point but will be thrilled with my weekend project SHOULD Mother Nature accommodate!

Both Cindy and LeeAnn are off today preparing for tonight's function. Being a good boss Paul called to say work until 1:00pm and off we go so that's a nice bonus today!

Bev, I'm so going to miss my orientals, after seeing yours I was purchasing many, excited as can be, not cheap either..some were over $20.00 and now ne'er a one..did have a Star Gazer, boo hoo for sure, guess I'll just have to take joy in yours. Wonder how long without lillies does that bug survive or if it moves on to a different type of plant?

Mary whooping cough is something that many have here..at one time they would send children home from school because of an epidemic...oooh Mary, don't want to use your brand new towerls, going to bring my own, bit tatty but will do..maybe I should embroider all our names on the towels so we don't get mixed up..

Spoke with Susan last night, not quite sure how she keeps a positive frame of mind..her belief in the Lord and all the possible blessings he will bring to her is all the reason I can see..

Barb, please no sewing yet..give the eye a week or so to heal! I would imagine Sean is thrilled with final day of school .. remember that day??? best day of the year except for Christmas!!

Crissy, what did they say about your cough? about the new office..on the upper floor just down from us is a Hairdressing School, think you can have your hair done at minimal cost..should we move it's one of the things I'll check into right away..lol

Neighbor got his pool set in, came and got my water hose to help fill more rapidly, he sure worked hard on his holidays!!

Got some great feedback from the # you gave me. They sent me documents via email that we needed. Things are looking positive. An advisor will call us on Monday to give us more info re: legal repercussions on Rev Cda if they have been taking over $$ what they should have been (btw - there is NO E&OA on the letter, so what they said in it Stands! This is where we have our "good things gotta be coming soon!" feeling)

Betty, you do know running your hose into the neighbors pool is going to increas your water bill big time don't you???

Betty - I think most folks get a pertussis vaccine...only they told me that it can wear off over the years. How wonderful to trade the rocks for the water.
So funny... we've had to purchase all our rocks.... wish I could figure out where to "find" some....would love to get more... waving LK, Debbie, etc...

Susan sorry I missed your call, was outside digging, hard part is digging up the sod and another 3 or 4 wheel barrels and the area will be prepped then digging of the pond debth begins, shouldn't take long as it will only be a few feet deep, just want the sound of water falling over rocks but not so sure I've done the right thing adding another as I sit having coffee looking at a dug square in the yard,

Trying to stay quiet any not wake the boys, when Jeff gets up he's got the e-readers to upload so that will take him a bit of time...not so sure my main computer didn't get zapped in the storm the other night so he'll have that to look at, am sure i've enough to keep him busy for the day...another mom makes work project!!

Fun time at the wedding celebration last night, was only going to stay for 1/2 hr but decided to sat until just after midnight..because all the main photo's were taken at the wedding in the islands a month ago there was no photographer so I took about 200 photo's, will edit and put on a disk for Lee-ann/Phyl , got some great photo's!

Debbie, right now we pay for water/sewer and it's unlimited usage so won't cost me anything but being a good neighbor..Darren was just turning the water off when I pulled in the yard last night. Now they need sunshine to warm it up and they are ready to go.

Mary, another reason for you to visit, we're built on a rock shield so you can fill up your vehicle. Lol

Betty did lightening hit your house or something? Kinda sounds like it from the way you're talking.

I have a chronic cough because I'm borderline asthmatic. Any kind of wind blowing on me and especially AC blowing on me makes me cough big time. If I'm sitting on the couch with the ceiling fan on (12' ceilings) if I con't put a blanket on over me I will cough and cough and cough. Dave will also sacrifice his comfort and turn the fan off so I'll quit coughing. It's very annoying.

Oh, I got my toothbrush yesterday in the mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Betty, I didn't even get it out of the package and Dave grabbed it and put his toothbrush head on it and used it. What's great is the battery still had a full charge on it!! LOL I was shocked!!

Well I'm trying to determine what my chore of the day will be, going down Lazy Street sounds like a wonderful idea but that doesn't get the weeds dug! I have some garlic that needs to be dug up too but I'm not sure if it's quite time yet. We're at 40% chance of rain today, mainly this evening, Bring On The Rain! We've been over 100* with the heat index for a full month and have not seen a drop of rain, my water bill is going to be sky high.

Mary, yikes...I hope you don't pay a lot for your rocks...the only rocks we paid for are the flag stone, and they are not cheap, so only a limited amount, as for the other stones, lolol for a while I was collecting them from every where!! The beach, an empty lot, the lake etc...I was a "stoner" for quite sometime, lolol. So keep your eyes peeled for lonely stones everywhere you go.

Barb, How wonderful the effects of the procedure comes so quick! Nice to SEE again. Yep, you do take it easy and before long, you'll be working on GS piece...lolol and that Bear, will appear much larger, Yikes and Yow! Miss you, and please say Hiya to Norm for us.

While he was looking at the reader I purchased for Jim both he and I both decided it had to many bells and whistles so went shopping for a more basic one..Ended up purchasing a photo program then got home and thought what was the sense if my co outer is down, iPad doesn't support the program..maybe if I boo hoo long enough he'll go check while the books are uploading.

YIKES Betty!! You are luckier than some, I don't remember if you were home or not, me thinks you were at work. My mom's cousin here in Hot Springs, Arkansas got hit by lightening and it burned a huge hole in the roof right to the living room floor.

That's funny, not as many post offices but it's running faster. hhhmmmmmmmmm It took 5 days for a package to get 700 miles here, staying in the country. Just crazy.

Judy - I'm not always in the best of spirits..... just ask Betty - I boo hoo'd on her ear today. No one really wants to hear anyone going "on and on and on" so, I'll just say that I'm doing better every day, and need to occasionally get it out of my system - thanks so much to everyone for being there when I do....... but I'm doing great. I went to my First "Hibiscus Club Meeting" today...21 ppl there. I learned a lot but still have a lot to learn. Won a door prize and the pres. brought me some hibby fertilizer. I am going to try to take some cuttings tomorrow of my "Rum Runner" Hibiscus. If I get real good at this maybe I'll have some nice pressies when I meet up with my DG friends !

Betty - you're an angel! Folks - Betty listened to me have a little "jag" but I'm ok now - Mary, I always try to keep my chin up.
Y'know, sometimes I go on, and on, and I bore myself with my ranting, but I truly try to keep a positive outlook. The Lord will look after me, after all - remember the lilies of the field..... and they're truly gentle, beautiful beings (things...... whatever LOL). They're reborn every spring, and are prolific and beautiful! I wish my soul were as beautiful as the lilies...... but I'm trying, I'm trying!!

I can't believe how beautiful my irises are! This is their third year growing in my garden, and finally they are blooming - a deep dark purple. I love the colour!!

Oh Susan, would love to see a picture of your Iris if you can get one. Mine are the purple with yellow centers, so want the solid purple ..and swear that is what i planted!!

Chilly day here....temp is high of 67. Rain finally stopped.

Also...today is Prom. I am sure pictures tonight.
After everythign involved with the Boys Baseball team...they lost 7 to 4 in the first game and sent packing. But great experience for them I am sure.

DD Shannon is not doing well, please keep her in your prayers. We go back to Neurology tomorrow for test results and meds most likely. Also, that scum of a boyfriend Michael broke up with her the day after she found out she was sick!!!!

Morning all, much the same weather here Debbie, rain hasn't arrived yet but it's windy and cold..brrr. Good outside working day but with all the boys still here I don't want to leave them to do things I can do when all alone..that beinfpg said, Kyle,Jeff and I are the only ones up, the other 3 are sleeping soundly..

Jeff loves Timmy's coffee so like a good mom I drove into town and got coffee and donuts, earning browny points for all the work he's been doing on e-readers, I-pads and computer...

While searching for a charger I came across a camera, said where did this old camera come from??? Nicely set in a leather case...oooops, jeff said that's a $600 camera you said you wanted...double ooops. Because it wasn't super lean/small I thought it was old... Hmmmm best I charge it and learn how to operate it...

Decided if it's not raining by the time the rest of the boys get up I'm going to deligate each to move 2 or 3 loads of earth for me..doing so means at least 12 loads..easier on my back right? Now watch it rain!!

Debbie, prayers coming your way for Shannon..I would say she is better off without Mike seeing as he's bailing out because she is having health issues...weren't you treating him like one of the family?? Oh Susan stop it, your soul IS as beautiful as the lilies!! Everything happens for a reason, that wasn't the place for you as you were constantly worried about messing up and having to tiptoe around everyone. I'm scared about my job right now, not really bad scared but a little scared, someone is going to get in trouble and it better not be me because I don't have the title or the pay to do the job I'm doing as it is. It does make me think about my options, however, as I'm getting tired of dealing with angry co-workers with attitudes and having a carrot dangled in front of my face all the time. It's getting very very old.

Debbie I'm so sorry this keeps going and going, and if Michael didn't love her enough to stay with her while she's sick she doesn't need to be with him anyway, probably too scared to deal with it and the only thing to do is run. There's someone better who won't care how sick she is or anything else.

Mary so glad you got to do that! My hibiscus are all sunburned on top and they're trying to bud but the sun just cooks them when they do, not sure what to do about this, they look bad.

I love Olive Garden but a little too pricy for us at the moment. Dave hasn't heard anything about a job anywhere. This is scary.

Well I dug out most of the weeds in my front flowerbed this morning, we didn't get a drop of rain yesterday so we're not happy, once again middle of the day it was so close we could see the lightning and smell the rain, but it went right around us. It hasn't rained at my address since May 25th, and we've had 100+ degree heat every day, then I wonder why my hibiscus are fried.

Wow - it's quiet here... can't usually say that but girls have gone to their Mom's for as long as they can stand it. Hubs at work. Son hasn't woke up although he offered to mow and now will be mowing in highest temps... I warned him...oh well...

Susan - I agree with Crissy - we all do the best we can but I love your positive outlook. We all need to vent from time to time...but even trying to stay positive shows your inner beauty ! ((HUGS))
Oh Deb... Prayers for Shannon and I again agree with Crissy & Betty .... the boy wasn't worth it if he can't stick around. So he failed the test. Hope it wasn't one you took in as your own but even if so... he will realize he messed up one day... So Prom for Shane tonight? Is he wearing the purple hair ?

Betty - are you still going to get the pond dug? Can't remember the obstacle you came across...I do love the sound of the water tricklilng down the rocks at the pond. Yes it's funny... if I knew how much $$ we spent in rocks I'd tell you but that's usually purchased by him... so I KNOW there's no cheaper way cheapskate that he is.... LOL.....

Crissy - they keep emphasizing that hibbies are like us... so if we are hot they are hot. I still have a few planted in the full sun...but I moved my pots to dappled sun and they seem to like it there. The club members also told me to elevate the pots on a rack so the "feet" (roots) don't get hot... Im' sure they baby theirs like I probably never would be able to.... These club member have 60+ hibbies.... how funny... I was the only person there that could name all my hibs... LOL

Well - I sprayed my hibs with the fertilizer they gave me....and tried to take three cuttings. We'll see how that goes...

They wouldn't let me back to my desk, nor to say "goodbye" to anyone.
The HR advisor packed up some of my stuff, but it was "sight unseen" so I wasn't thinking through to everything I had on my desk......
She brought me my purse, perishable foodstuff I had, and anything that I could think of.

Susan, that is so very unprofessional of them!!! How rude! But you know, DH has said when someone gets let go at their work...they are taken to their locker by security, get their clothing....and escorted to the gate/parking lot, where they take their pass and keys to the buildings. Sad!!

Well, yes, Michael is one of the kids we took in. He was here for 9 months! Scott free, not one penny to help out. Shannon packed up some things of his that were still here and we took it over to his moms and put it on the porch. We got back here and she has been " de-lousing" her room. Pictures, stuffed animals....you name it! She donated what she could to a woman with some little grandkids that live with her.

And....DS Shane...at the Prom. No, he didn't dye his hair, maybe it would have cheered him up. He is totally miserable, the Tux was VERY pourly fit to him, no time for the alterations and such....shirt too big, pants to big around waist and too short! I swear it was someone elses tux...but the colors and such were right.

Anyway he said "mom you get 3 pictures, thats it...and I am NOT smiling!" I snuck in about 8...but they were all...miserable.

And yes, he did get a haircut this week....lord only knows what I paid for, I was there when it happened! lol

This is the closest I got to "full outfit" as he kicked off the dress shoes and put his plaid converse on (black and gray) which actually....made the tuxs a little more bareable!

Tomorrow...we are on the run. I have PT first thing, then another appt. in Rochester....and then Shannon to the neurologist to get our "plan of attack". She just feels horrible and with all happening not helping. OHHH and we have the sports banquet tomorrow night....

Bev, how are you doing ...did you rest this weekend?

Mary, Enjoy your peace and quiet! I worked outside ALL day today. Cleaned gardens both days, but finished up today. Started off having DH "trim" a lilac....and, well, it is now pulled out and at the dump!! It was all dead in the middle. Which lead to a "shrub evergreen" being taken also as it was shot down below. THEN, I had a hole in my garden, so moved some hostas around.

Finished up my porch, hanging baskets and window boxes also. Will take some pictures maybe tomorrow or tuesday.

awwww poor Shane! Did you pick up his tux at the store, and it's the wrong one? converse? Are those shoes? I suppose they are high enough that it hid the lack of length in the pants?

I would have made sure that a courier was "same day" regardless of the reason! I ended up sitting at home waiting for a courier that wasn't arriving, and I'd asked twice what the courier co name was so I could contact them. They didn't think it necessary to tell me........

Converse are a type of sneaker the kids wear, I think the "rubber" on his are black, not white...but its the general idea, and yes...his socks didn't show after putting these on!

We got the Tux from the local shoe store...that does Tuxes, but his wife owns the formal store next to it...so it is a business that does know what they are doing. We have had both of our daughters wedding party tuxes and other proms done by them....never a problem.

Really would lodge a complaint againt that company Susan....especially if your fish is NOT safe!!
