Crissy where is the round-up?
Debbie, doubted you could but really wanted to extend the invitation..you are the most perfect co-pilot and believe me, when travelling with me one needs the patience of a saint..lol
50 minutes left to my week..clock just isn't moving
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..
It's in Southwest Little Rock, about 45 minutes from my house.
that's not too far then...who would some of the attending be, any DG members I'd know?
Betty, here are the attendees: Karen kjuddy is hosting, Kathy Ann, Kim duckmother, Marilyn marsue, Charlotte cperdue, Janie janiep, Kathy Ann kathy_ann, and Trish honeybunch_2000.
The RU is closer to my house than work is!
Don't recognize any of the names Crissy, do enjoy the round-up, they all sound like so much fine!
Dropped and got 20 trailers for pots, a shrub, and 2 nice dcorative pots of pansies...don't know what you all pay for annual trailers but here they are $2.89 and I think that is highway robbery..but still we buy them...all are planted now just need them to grow!
Tired tonight, such an off schedule week that a bath, jammies and gardening magazines is what I need.
Betty, what are you calling trailers? What kind of plants are they?
All the ones that you pruchas LindaKay for hanging baskets, rail boxes and my topseyturvey pots which cascade over the edges...
Ah, I got ya.
Kyle just dropped in, he was out getting pledges for his 'ride for the cure' bike ride, said he's now raised himself 1,000 ..says tomorrow he'll spend the day trying to get more!!
Then mom called, here I'm going to work putting in a pond, Cathy is coming with me to work on the gardens and what does she call me for?? Bring my curling iron to do her hair...shaking my head
Hello To All !
Oh Betty that's too funny ! You have to curl her hair for her? among all the other things need to be done.... Love the Duck tour video....Thanks all for explaining that one.... what a great idea...
Oh Judy your bride is gorgeous and you have me ROFLOL !!! Forgot the teeth ! Hey you brought the bouquets! That's what is most important LOL... LK I suppose you are having record heat like we are....
My northern friends should def not plan to visit in summer.... April is a good month...
Debbie your plans... exhausting. But I can relate.... 2 graduations, wedding... Maybe I can plan a vacation when I get settled back into a schedule. Not yet.
Hubby is going to Natchitoches to bring DSD1 to orientation for College. It's the city they filmed Steel Magnolias. How appropriate for a drama school LOL.....anyway - I might meet them up there.... might be a weekend vacation....
Crissy good luck with the tire problems.... I got a speeding ticket this week... nothing like little $$ setbacks here and there Huh !
Synda - that is so bright and pretty... yes seemed like a good price although I know nothing of them other than from talking to folks....
DSD2...who gave me fits during vacation came home from FFA Convention today. I saw her basically twice for 2 minutes each. and she HUGGED me before going to the movies... go figure... AND told her Dad she loved him. Wow - maybe something we said to her that actually is beginning to sink in....
on how lucky she is and how (I said) she should treat her Dad with more respect...
((HUGS))
Mary
Well the baby colt had to have surgery..........He (the colt ) decided he was old enough to eat grass and hay and it got stuck in his throat and he couldn't even swallow milk when he sucked,it would come out his nose. He will only be 4 weeks old tomorrow and his teeth have not developed enough for him to even chew..............the vet had to put him to sleep and remove the wad ! Boy is he going to be a handful !!!!!!!!!!!! I guess lightning was the perfect name for him........
Oh Synda, how scary! Thankfully it didn't mess with his breathing! Sure is a cute little thing.
Mary...are you sure she isn't in trouble...and waiting for you to find out...so on best behavior? NOT to be negative, but that is the route I go with my kids first! OR, they need money/trip/permission for something! lol
We had a "scare" of sorts tonight. At least I did.
Mind you we don't even have a stop light in town. It is 11:30....and suddenly it sounds like an air raid. Lights flashing...siren....LINE of 3 HUGE firetrucks....FIRE rescue....2 sheriffs.....a school bus with HORN blaring.....and about 40 cars! All I could think was a major emergency and evacuation!!!!
NOPE....Boys Baseball Team won the sectionals!!! They got an "ESCORT" into town from the entire Fire Department, Sheriffs and LOTS of parents! lol I can now see how the Sports banquet is going to be Tuesday night! lol
I need to get to bed. Still wired....and didnt' even have a nap today!
Good night, sweet dreams
Debbie
Good Luck Synda !
Debbie - Good Idea - I need to keep an eye out for that... LOL! There may be more to the "we set the hotel on fire" comment.... LOL....
Hugs all... I'm wired too Debbie...
Well that makes 3 of us Debbie and Mary. I tried, I really did but sleep will just not come to me. Drats as I have so much I want to do tomorrow.
WOW Barb! Some neat shots you or Norm took there of the bears. I have seen bears at a distance on the property but never up close like that. Congratulations to Norm on his medical checkup. That's a whoooo hooo moment you got to share wasn't it?
Betty no the boat isn't in the water yet, I have to do it when DH is not here or he will have a bird. Rain forecasted here for Sat and Sun, how about you?
LOL Debbie, the joys of small town living!!!My hometown was much like that, everyone came out to celebrate any significant sports win. Great for the team!!!
Morning, coffee's on..not sure why I'm up so early, not leaving for mom's until 7am..the day is just breaking Dianne and we've a good chance of rain for today but calling for sunshine...can always change..it always rains on kyle's bike a thon.
Didnt say last night but had tears last night when he was here..he made arrangements for the young lad who has been battling brain cancer come and speak a few words as to the importance of finding a cure..just got shivers again!
Synda bet you were relieved that Lightning had a quick fix but am sure the vet bill was something you could have done without, not cheap for
sure!
Debbie, you have me laughing again, always one step ahead of the kids..seems yours as all kids do think they are pulling the wool over your eyes but no can do with you! Would be a scare..had similar experience when I lived at the lake and the kids won Ontario Finals in hockey! Small town are indeed wonderful!
Mary one of these days all will make sense to her and she'll hurt for all the grief she's given you..what a day that will be!
Bit of a headache this morning, best I take something..could be from drastic weather pressure..best I take something before venturing out!!
Have a safe trip.....
And give your Mom a hug for me.
Debbie

Guess who is back and totally exhausted??? Yes, Betty and Cathy!!
Got to mom's at 7:45am after dropping into times for coffee and donuts for everyone...
Of course mom wanted to gab but I said we were there to work and not socialize which didn't impress her at all. Jim said it had been raining all night and earlier in the morning..no sooner did we get outside it started to rain, not just rain but torrential rain, storm was brewing..of course both mom and Jim knocked at the window to say we could not be working in the rain, well they should know I'm always up for a challenge!
Came in twice to change clothes..no rain coats so put on garbage bags, how pretty we looked. At one point we had to come in for about 15 minutes as it was thundering/lightening and much to dangerous to be playing outside with metal shovels. Got called in once after that for sandwiches and quickly back out till we accomplished what we had came for, except pond, much too ray y for that.
Omg, it was damp outside so mom had Jim put on the wood stove..I would not be lying if I said it was 130 inside the house...here's mom in shorts, light top saying she's freezing..so glad to get back outside.
6 hours later the gardens were done..couldn't have done much more, back was soooo sore..I'll have aches and pains tomorrow for sure...wouldn't doubt I'll have trouble doing the bike run in the morning!
So here I is, had a bath, in my jammies and will lay down for a rest.. forgetting I'm not 21 anymore.. lol
Must say though I've never seen hosta's as big..we measured one near the lake that was 4' high and about the same wide...must be ideal growing conditions!
Odd to take something for this old back..even have callous hands!
Oh where oh where is everyone today?? Missing you all??
Must be sunshine in your neck of the woods and you are out enjoying the day..imagine, I've turned up the heat!!
Afternoon Betty, I am here just a lazy day here. Wow, you have been very busy at your Mom's. Betty, did you ever go back to your Dr. for those headaches? pretty warm here today. It is 98 again... Having a cold beer, and watching drag racing on tv with hubby.
Just finished dinner here. And no bears today!!! It was a busy one for us. This morning I worked on some sewing and then this afternoon Mittsy and her friend Judy stopped in. They were on their way back to Judy's house after going to the Keepsake Quilting Sale. I love that Mittsy drives up for it each year and we get to visit for a while.
AND she had my name in the mug swap and hand delivered my cup!!!! I'm charging the camera now and will post pictures as soon as I can. She packed it with all kinds of goodies (some of which have been devoured already) and wrapped it up in fabric!!!! I was thrilled.
She explored the backyard and wanted to see where the bear had been. Norm went down in the woods to retrieve the feeder and we were all amazed at the fact that it is NOT destroyed!
It is still in great shape and usable. Only thing she did to it was scratch the pole a bit. How is that for a testimonial to it's being well built???? She must have shaken it to get the seed out but she didn't get much!!! She made up for it with the suet and thistle.....
After they left, we jumped in the car and headed to Sean's ball game. He did well and made a couple of great plays. He was really happy he got to pitch today. Not bragging here but he is going to be a pistol at the rate he is going...
Must get busy and get things ready for tomorrow. We are going to Brandon's first horse show. He is sooooo excited. But my Lord, it is sooo expensive. He is riding English and has to wear very specific clothes. He must have a velvet covering on his helmet. He must have a fancy shirt and cravat, He must have a riding jacket and pants and dress boots and a crop.!! I can't wait to see him all decked out...Musn't forget the camera.
Have a great night everybody. I'm ready for my jammies too Betty....

Hello To All !
Thunder that is so awesome ! Grandkids must be just swell and I can wait but I can't wait if that makes sense ! LOL....
Betty - I'm worried you overdid it... but whether or not you did... I completely understand why. A long soak in bath salts may help ! Heck to me a bath solves everything. I hope you aren't sore tomorrow....
Barb - that will be quite a picture ! Please remember to post! How old are the DGK's? I can't remember. So glad everyone has had a nice day... hoping that goes for all we haven't heard from as well...
Well was going to say we had some of this really strange wet stuff fall from the sky... however all heck broke loose... and the Thunderstorm caused many power outages and downed trees ... particulary bad in our neighborhood... DH and I took a walk around... we did dodge a huge branch from neighbors yard... tree fell on a house a few doors down and around the corner one across a neighbor's driveway... they are blocked in.
We really needed rain though....
I'll pop back in a bit... (HUGS)
Mary
Some pics from today's Storm....
http://9reports.wafb.com/MediaItemView.aspx?id=1325385
Hubby took some of these... in the neighborhood... Belle is in one of them... LOL
Oh Mary, lost of damage....and that poor ladies house! It just crunched it!
Hey Deb ! Yes - once again we are both wired and can't sleep !
Yes - looks bad... but everyone okay so that is what matters.
What are you up to tonight ?
HUGS
Mary
Trying to get sleepy...but I had a "day" and am wired. Accidentally took a nap! lol
Ooops...hit send before I was done!
We have had thunderstorms here all day, along with quite a bit of rain, but nothing severe. DH was supposed to do a roofing job, however was "on call" this weekend and got called into work....which turned out to be a good thing. Now he will do roofing job in morning possibly.
I really need an "off switch" for the brain.
Our Thunderstorm came up all of a sudden... we are in a drought. REALLY needed rain but as you can see... severe damage... everything is so brittle....
So your hubby will be gone all day tomorrow as well ? Lance was supposed to be gone all weekend but he left last night and came back early... in time to nap and wake up for the bad storm.
It's strange to be home all weekend... been 3 weeks since.... can't complain about weekends at the beach can I !?
but I'm ready to get some more planting done tomorrow... Need to get some grass planted and looking for something to withstand the severe heat and humidity...
(HUGS)
Mary
Debbie if you ever find that off switch for the brain let me know please!
Somehow the storms missed us completely. It poured and there was T and L all around us. Quite often it rains in the village across the lake and not on our side. So glad Mary that you and family are safe.
Spent quite a bit of time in the garden today. This is the longest I have been able to work in the garden at one time in 2 years. So headache or not I take that as a sign I am getting my strength back.Weeded one of my rockeries - it sighed with relief when I was done I am sure. Only lost 2 perennials this winter so am very pleased. I looked up and there was DH with his nose pressed to the window watching me. He feels so bad he can't help. I rigged up a stool for him to sit on beside the garden and he was able to come out for a bit of time.I sure enjoyed his company, as much as Stormy and Quill try they do not carry on great conversations.
Oh Betty......... that's all I am going to say other than your DM is just too much like mine was. I won't get started. Hope the bath warmed you up and soothed your aching body.
Thunder so glad you heard from your 'navy' boy and that you will be travelling up to the Great Lakes area for Graduation.
OK eyelids are drooping hoping that is a sign I can fall asleep.
Dianne
Morning all, sunshine day, wonderful for Kyle's endeavor...
Little achy this morning but none the worse for wear, do think though I should have gone for the odd bike ride before I attempt the 15 mile run and the 2 to get to starting line this morning!
I've mentioned a few times to Kyle that in this economy he's NOT to feel badly if he doesn't raise as much money as previous years..economy hasn't been kind to everyone...although he says he understands I do hope he does.
Dianne, glad the storm missed your neck of the woods and that you got some gardening done..know you will be tired today but it's a nice kind of tired. Must be so frustrating for hubby not being able to do the things he has in the past, pass on a hug for me will you. Once the boat is in will he be able to go out at all? Still have the Foxy Lady sitting on side lawn acting as a lawn ornament, kids say for the few rides she was on last year why put her in and they are right.
Mary, glad you are safe, talk about worries for all our friends, it's either tornadoes, hurricane, fires or drought..shaking my head, been some kind of spring hasn't it? No way to explain the magnitude o feelings you experience for grandchildren, they sure get the heart swelling...joy of our lives. Traveling is indeed enjoyable but it's sure nice to be home..have fun in your gardens today...
Thunder, I am so excited for you all..glad everything is working out well..where near the great lakes will the celebration be?? When?? Long drive for you...you have every reason to be proud. Congratulations..is your younger one still enjoying his new employment? Guess he'll not be able to get the time off to go with you..remember when the kids used to call, they would jobber/jabber, much I couldn't understand but I was thrilled they had called with something exciting them .. Am sure a tear or two fell re the excitement of Melana's call
Debbie, you must totally be exhausted as you are not getting proper sleep, getting through the days with nervous energy is not good. If the weather today that I'm having is the same in your area then Paul should have a good day for roofing and one for you to rest..better still, get a book and out you go sit and enjoy your gardens..are flowers booming yet..did a walkabout last night and the odd one is flowering..
Oops Sailor wants out...
I'll grab us a coffee and a crimped and be right back.
Oh Thunder I'm so thrilled for you. It's been a while since I heard that Joy in your posts and it's so great to hear it once again. You are always up when it comes to Malena but I hear excitement today. Do you know that Judy(seedtosser) lives not too far from Great Lakes Naval Training Center? Maybe you could meet up? I went there myself when my younger brother graduated from boot camp way tooooooo many years ago. It was the first time I had ever been on a plane and I just loved it...And how wonderful that your Mom will be there too!
Just a short note today as I need to be ready to leave for the horse show in 20 minutes and I'm not even dressed yet!!!!
Waving to everyone and I'll post when we get home~~~~~~~
Barb, we'll be looking forward to seeing those photo's..enjoy!! Glad you got to enjoy your visit with Mittsy and her friend Judy..ohhh doubt many of us can hand deliver our mug to our swap partner..not I for sure..speaking of Judy's, where is our Judy, still tired after her trip east? She is becoming quite the world traveller isn't she?
Mary, went back and looked at the photo's, no fatalities I hope?
Going to get into some grubbies. and get in an hour or so of gardening done, took a few photo's
Omg, just showed a dog, swooped up in tornado in Joplin, 2 broken legs, just crawled back to his owners..totally amazing!!
Morning everyone! Mary, so glad to hear your OK after that storm! Was it a tornado? Sure looks like it was with all those twisted trees!
Thunder, so glad to hear your going to Sailor's graduation! it will mean so much to both of you! Enjoy your trip!
Betty, praying for Kyle to raise more money before this is all over! I wish him all the luck for today's walk!
Moving us over...sure hope you enjoy chatting...
