Weather in Your Garden # 97
I find it sad commentary when people talk about barbecues on this day and won't give our dead the honors they deserve.
I 3rd that!!... Randy put out a gnome I bought him from collections that says support our troops with a flag this weekend.. he does love his gnomes
one of the many places that made me cry in DC
yes that place did me in too
Thank you, Pirl & Pixie, for those photos.....it is a sad day for those who have lost their loved ones through war.....every year a hs girl in town is Miss Columbia...she is rowed out to the middle of the cemetery pond, & places a wreath in the water....very moving. It's 67 here...had a nasty little T-storm roll in at about 7....now everything is dripping....my garden actually needed this rain......
We just had a thunderstorm and rain. I'm grateful because I don't have to get over to the school to water, besides the fact that my house gardens needed the water. Now I can go outside and get the peppers in. We put up on of those composite raised bed yesterday and that's where the peppers go. The garden where the peppers used to go (which no longer gets enough sun) will get the ricola mint and the Rosa unknown.
It's just 76 outside, but very humid. Supposed to go to 88 with scattered thunderstorms. I guess it won't be pleasant outside. Oh well.
We as a society have a reputation for commercializing everything in order to make a profit. By consequence, the real meaning of days like today become obscured.
71°, wind from the West at 6mph, H 93%, rain.
Thunderstorms clearing out this am, going up to a steamy 85° here under mostly cloudy skies. Tonight we drop down to 67°.
80 and sunny.
Its very sad that days like today get commercialized.
Yes - always a somber day - at least for those who bother to remember. Just becomes another sale day for so many.
Gross day again. 78 with 78% H.
Forgot to say we had strong t-storms about 6 AM. Got over 1/2 inch.
Great pic!
Cool, you got the tomb! The guards keep the gloves wet so they don't loose their grip on the rifle.
Great photos, Victor & Jen.....very humid here, but a nice little breeze now....spent the day on the porch, & it wasn't too bad....
spent another 6 hours moving mulch - going with dark pine and having to remove the old hemlock is double duty - spent the afternoon on the river and swimming - nice! came home and turned on the AC!
got up to 90 today. All the ceiling fans are running. It's still humid tonight.
We hit 89. Still 79.
88° was the high 78° currently
85° was the high here, 78° now.
83 was our high, 70 now. AC still running. Too muggy!
Yes, way too mid-summer-like. Hate that humidity.
When you live a couple blocks from the lake (Erie) like J-2 does, it can be quite humid.
66 going to 86... sure the index will be higher
It's already 77 degrees and we're supposed to hit the record high of 90. No AC in the school. It's going to be a pain. Whiny kids, whiny teachers and whiny me.
That sounds horrible!
69° here, wind from the North at 6 mph, H 80%, and we have sunny skies this morning!
Going up to 80° today, under sunny skies.
Tonight we drop down to 61°, and it starts to cloud up a bit.
Ugh, so sorry Candy...does not sound like a fun day!
57 now and partly cloudy, high of 77 today.
78 with 60% H. I heard it will be less humid than yesterday and it's definitely starting that way.
Parts of my son's school don't have a/c either, so they swap out time in the auditorium
It's already 79° with 75% humidity
Hot school is why I went off the sub list on April 15th...cannot take the heat anymore....forecast is for 80 today, less humidity....good day to garden, but i will be in art class....irises on tap for today.....
Noticeably less humid. 82 and sunny, with 54% H - low for this early in the day.
It's too sunny, we need a few clouds here.
79°, H 53%
I'll second the vote for some clouds. It's very hot in the sun but less humid than yesterday, most thankfully.
79 degrees with 44% humidity.
